i love dropping by here every once in awhile - great vibe, friendly people... they serve up fun here. I'm a big people watcher and this place doesn't disappoint. All the bartenders I know here are top notch. Scotty must have some sort of special talent recruiting or something. I usually drop by Wednesday nights (karaoke). Legend has it that there's trivia earlier in the night, but I never seem to get here early enough for that. Anyways, drop by on Wednesday night and check things out. I've came to this bar multiple times and have always had a great time. Until this past Saturday, my friend and I had to experience a very rude bartender. It was a girl with black hair and glasses behind the bar who was extremely rude right off the bat and in my opinion was having a power trip. Scotty's is great but this lady and her nasty attitude is not a good look for the bar. read more

Have been to the Hideaway multiple times over the past couple of years. Last night I experienced the worst customer service I have ever experienced. My wife and I are both 65 years old, stopped by for a beer at about 9:30 pm, the female bartender with the bad tattoos on her neck refused to serve us because my girlfriend did not have her ID with her. How stupid is that.. about as stupid as the bartender lady who seemed to have an issue with us as soon as we sat down at the bar. Oh well, there are better places to get a beer with much better service and that's where we went. Will not be back to the Hideaway! Their choice of bartender sucks. read more

I've been coming here for years, the bouncer at the door asked for me and my girlfriend's IDs and we show him. We go to get a drink at the bar a man takes our order and as he goes to pour a grown women in a tank top decided to come to us aggressively and ask for our IDs again VERY RUDELY. We give our ID's and then this lady SNATCHES my ID from my hand and so when she goes to hand me it back , I decide this lady is actually not acting like a grown up and I already wanted to leave so I give her a taste of her own medicine and snatch my ID back. Obviously I left after my drink, in which she told me I would have to anyways. Poor lady must be so miserable. She seen two beautiful young women walk in that room and instantly targeted us and treated us very disrespectful. I have been coming here for years, I have never had seen this lady working before and honestly I would NEVER allow someone that nasty work for me. Way to ruin a great place it only takes one person to ruin an establishment. read more

The bartender was extremely rude, and pulled the wrong beer. Treated me like it was a chore to serve me while she was hanging out with her friends. Came over and asked if I wanted anything else while I still had 3/4 a beer. I said I was good for the moment, then she give me the check without even looking at me or saying anything. The inference wasn't very subtle - You are a stranger and not welcome. Get out of my bar and let me hang out with my friends. I won't be going back and wouldn't reccomend this bar to anyone I like. read more

I grew up in Orangevale and saw this place as I was picking up Mexican food from Lupitas, another venue I've never been. As I pulled through the parking lot I noticed several people walking into Scottys. I couldn't believe a bar was open so I followed the crowd. OMG, an awesome dive bar! Full bar, electronic dart boards, pool table, outdoor smoking area. I was flushed with excitement and the bartender poured my a stiff tall Titos n soda with lime. I was in heaven! By my self, I watched the locals as they watched me. They were not friendly, but obviously inquisitive. I just smiled and enjoyed a great drink. I've been back once and same inquisitive local watch. Scotty's Hideaway is OV's hidden secret! What a fun spot, everyone needs to come and check it out for a good time! Had the opportunity to visit Scotty's last Saturday! Not really having expectations, this isn't like your normal neighborhood dive bar - it's way better! They have a huge bar, with pool tables, KARAOKE, and they also have a fun outdoor area with corn hole! I can't believe how much fun I had last Saturday! The owner Scotty, is super chill and is so welcoming! Everyone should check out Scotty's hideaway, drinks are very reasonable and overall you're going to have fun at this local spot! *Towards the end of the night, I might've had one too many drinks - sorry Scotty! :) Thanks for a good time, tho! read more

Great little place to have fun, but kinda divey.. but fun and good people. They have an outdoor patio with heaters and a place to just escape for a few hours from the everyday routine . Drinks are very reasonable and service is pretty good. Parking can be a challenge sometimes. The place gets busy on the weekends.. If you just want to get out for awhile and meet some down to earth people this is the place to come. read more

Went for the first time, and the bartender was absolutely awful. Me and my friend ordered some drinks gave a tip, and then later on in the night we were picking up our own dishes and taking them to the bartender, she would leave our drinks at the bar and not bring them to the table, so the next time we order drinks we did not tip because tipping is for excellent service and the service was not excellent and she came up to us and said oh do you work for free and showed us the receipt we then looked at the receipt and said the total was $28 didn't leave a tip so it's $28 she then goes OK I just wanna make sure y'all work for free so next time you come up and you don't get service just know why I've never encountered anybody who felt so entitled I asked her I said, do you make an hourly wage, you're not working for free whether I tip you or not it was just awful read more

Rude service if you are not happy working maybe you should not be a bartender. There was no reason for her blatant disregard for customers!

I get prioritizing regulars but the last four times I've been here I don't get service unless I get a girl to get me drink for me, the bartenders are slow and as a bartender watching them make drink is excruciating. if you are not a regular DONT COME HERE. They suck, in addition every time ai come here with friends the girls in our group get sexually harassed. This place fucking blows. read more

I came here to grab a drink with a friend, having never heard of it walked in to find a more divey bar with the regulars lined up and having fun Shannon was our bartender- she provided above the bar customer service and was friendly and people oriented- her personality made the experience and will definitely get us to come back. The drink prices were great and affordable and they have a board that indicates what their drinks specials are for each day. Tucked in the corner of a strip mall- this may become a new place for me and my best friend to stop by in our typical places to catch a drink or night cap. read more

This place is fantastic. The bartender Scottie is amazing. Up to date on all important sports info, great with drinks and the quick one liners. Can't wait to see the bar in summer when they update the patio. Good amount of space inside and out with good food across the street. They have Tap TV so you can feel smart while drinking . We used to come here a few times when it was Black Stallion- only because it was walking distance from a friends house- Now that it's Scotty's we're coming here because it's clean, great karaoke, great dartboards, and an awesome outside patio with games. First time here since the turnover. Dig the trivia interaction option. It's always a good thing to have a snack option while drinking and hanging with friends. This is a definite plus for me. Scott seems to be a great guy. Will be back to compare experiences on a busier night. read more
