Worst service. Treated my friend like terribly. Super aggressive lady up front as well as the security was very aggressive.

My exchange: Orders two drinks, a vodka soda and a lemon drop. Total: $27 and some change. Ridiculous. I don't tip, why would I...... just pour the drink I paid for it. No alcohol in my drink. I'm extremely disappointed and upset by how I was treated at this bar. I was denied entry solely because I had my service dog with me--an action that violates both California state and federal ADA laws. When I tried to explain this, the security guard, Mason, flat-out refused to let us in, citing "allergies" as the reason. I calmly asked to speak with the manager, but Mason said I couldn't go to him, wouldn't call him, and that I should just "come back tomorrow." That is not how any guest--especially someone with a disability--should ever be treated. This wasn't just ignorance--it was willful discrimination. I expect better from any establishment claiming to serve the public. Until this bar takes responsibility and properly trains their staff on disability rights, I'll be telling everyone I know to avoid this place. read more

Visited to check out a great little Indie band Azucal. Heard a lot about this place but never visited despite all my visits to old Folsom (In my defense, mostly on a bike.) This place is great and really is a nice little gem for Folsom. This place seems to take security pretty seriously with the pat downs I was surprised how thorough but appreciate the work they do to ensure the safety of the place. Not sure if this change but the comments from prior posts made me thing this place would a little rougher crowd. After that everything was pretty smooth. Powerhouse seems to be separated between 3 major areas with a lot of different areas to enjoy yourself depending on your taste of music and the crowd. Adding to this there was atleast 3 separate bars so there wasn't a long wait despite how busy it was. I really enjoyed this place for all the little areas we could hang out if we wanted to step away from the dance floor. Staff was great as well and didn't have any issues getting drinks. Only issue would that this place is pretty pricey for the type of environment but I attribute that also to its location in old Folsom. Overall enjoyed this place and would visit again! read more

My favorite Folsom bar! For date night or girls night they have a vibe for everyone. Live music inside with a colorful blacklight viewing upstairs, hookah and dancing outside, and a full on party in the back bar on the dance floor (it can get crowded, but it's so nice that the outdoor area is steps away if you need a breather) Also, the vending machines are hilarious and I'm sure come in handy if you need a vape or a condom or gum. Bartenders have always been nice and knowledgeable and accommodating. read more

Wow it was great experience. JOEL is definitely a showman my clients loved it! He is a incredible mixologist :) Smoke, bubbles, lighting ice cubes, drinks with real fruit, crazy syrups, he could make me a sweet drink and then a non-sweet cucumber drink. It wasn't incredible. This was supposed to be a FREE event, "live band Karaoke". We have been telling everyone about this weekly event and decided to try it out on my birthday to sing our song together. We got there an hour early and informed the door man that it was my birthday and we were there to sing "picture" together. He sent us away to have dinner at a closed restaurant to kill time. When we came back, we added our name to the list and waited and waited through some really tone-deaf individuals to find out that the Birthday Boy was next again. When I told the door man that they were bypassing us, he stated, "Well, he must have tipped them $100. He repeated himself 3 times. We left and will NEVER return to this dump! read more

Absolutely horrible experience! I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone. I went here on 8/31 and ordered two vodka sodas, total was $26. I gave the male bartender $40 in cash, and he NEVER gave me my $14 change. I waited about 10 minutes, confused, and then told my friend. When she confronted him, his response was, "she is drunk," and then he poured me a "free shot" instead of returning my money. This man stole $14 from me--and I want it refunded immediately. He probably does this every night with people paying cash who he assumes are "too drunk" to notice. Management, please review the cameras on the Scarlett's side from that night and contact me directly. I would not recommend this place at all. The powerhouse is definitely my go to place for the weekend afternoons and it never lets me down with Us eclectic hippie atmosphere. The music is always top shelf and the dance floor is like a magnet that draws you... If you wanna have a good time... I would have to say the powerhouse is powerful for that. read more

Disappointing Experience for a Large Wedding Party We recently tried to bring a group of 80 guests into this bar as part of a wedding celebration, expecting to have a fun night together. However, we were shocked when the staff refused to offer any accommodation on the $20 cover fee for our large group. As a result, we took our business elsewhere. This rigid approach resulted in the bar losing out on significant revenue from 80 people buying drinks, food, and celebrating for hours. We were hoping for a more flexible and welcoming experience, especially for such a large group. I'd recommend management rethink their policies when it comes to special events or large parties. Based on this experience, I can't recommend this bar for any special occasion or large gathering. There are plenty of other establishments in the area that were more than happy to accommodate. The bar next door accommodated immediately and we spent over 10k for the wedding after party. read more

I am an Amateur Marriage and Family Therapist. With a masters degree in clinical psychology and am trained to identity a possible threat, especially with alcohol in the mix. I don't go out unless it's a special occasion. At first everything was fine and the setting was enjoyable. About an hour in the establishment I witnessed a young man acting aggressively towards a female. I noticed the security guard in the closet proximity and informed him of a possible domestic assault. I first thought that the security guard was going to address the situation but within the matter of 2 minutes he called seven or more security guards. I expected the scenario to be dealt with and resolved. But in a split second I was physically attacked and pushed, grabbed, and thrown down a walkway. I hurt my back and neck. My wife was also unprovoked and physically assaulted. My civil rights were violated for no reason whatsoever ever. This establishment is an embarrassment to the Folsom community. Treating good hearted individuals like trash and abusing them for no logical reasons. Expect a lawsuit and protests to shine a spotlight on the abusive security who act with impunity. Expect to lose your jobs, reputation, and your community affiliation. My back is injured and I'm hiring an attorney to make these malicious individuals accountable for abusing their power and authority instead of protecting the public and community. read more

At the AC Myles show today. Great show he can really lay it down. Powerhouse staff all good especially Joey the security man. He's extremely helpful and is a true asset. But the reason for the 4 stars is the restroom situation. A shell station in Chowchilla exceeds the level of cleanliness in both men's and women's rooms. A few years ago I was leaving this bar and decided to get food at the vendor outside, when a woman believed her boyfriend was trying to "talk" to me and attacked me. The staff did not handle this situation correctly and treated me like I started the altercation. I was banned for life. this is the treatment I received when I should have pressed charges. But of course when I was attacked I swung back and then I was on defense mode! As a DV SURVIVOR this situation really brought out survival mode and i am to this day punished for it. Now for life. What a joke anyways. The establishment clearly does not handle anything correctly between security, limiting alcohol intake, and I've heard SO many stories of women getting DRUGGED here. An Uber dropping me and my friends off before told us his daughter got drugged here. Please be careful on sutter street ladies. I had a friend waiting in the car sleeping, when a man decided to jump in the backseat. She woke up to him touching her shoulder and thank god we came outside to the car 1 minute later. Visited on a Wednesday night to try their new karaoke show. It was great! Rick, the KJ, did a wonderful job - he is very warm and friendly and uses a modern KaraFun setup which I prefer. The bar has a proper stage for singing. The staff in the bar was also very nice and friendly, starting with the security at the entrance and also Jen the bartender. Good beer selection and nice patio. Hope they keep the karaoke show as a regular feature - I plan to return. read more

I've been to Powerhouse 3 times now and honestly it's one of the worst bars I've been to. Every time I go, I always get frisked by the security even though I see them just letting people in without checking them. I always get checked every time I go and it isn't like it's a quick pat down to make sure I don't have weapons. It's very thorough and I feel disgusting afterwards. I don't know why they bother to check someone for weapons, and then don't check a ton of other people. It's inconsistent and feels like they just want to grope people. After looking at other reviews, it seems as though there has always been consistent issues with the security. The building itself is cool. There's a lot of great décor on all the walls, local bands that perform, and lots of different bars inside of it. I usually trust the bartenders to make me something good and so I just told him that I wanted something fruity and didn't taste too much like alcohol. He said he prefers stronger alcohol and gave me a glass of vodka with 2 ounces of cranberry juice. I didn't like it because it was almost entirely vodka even though I wanted something a lot less strong. He didn't care and then instantly charged me out, and asked me what I wanted to tip him. Unfortunately this is what happens every time, I get handed a drink I didn't want because the bartender didn't care. It's also always crowded and hard to maneuver throughout the building. There are so many different bars out there and while Powerhouse might seem fun and flashy, it's a place I'll now never return to. Mainly because of the security. Folsom resident for a long time and have been here and had fun multiple times. Had fun watching red corvette... tried to close my tab and bartender told me it was already closed out. I told him that my friend must have closed it out but I don't have my card. Bartender in Jason Williams Jersey was cool and gave me back my card. Told the other bartender that i got my card back. He didn't like being wrong and told security guard to throw me out. Security used excessive force and carried me out by my collar. The security is looking for a fight for no reason. Who are you trying to protect? The only positive about my experience is that I realized that there are a lot of places in Folsom to spend my money and I will not be coming back to Powerhouse. read more

Dishonest business!! Wow. The Powerhouse Pub website advertised on 12/18/21 as a "Triple Show," singular - not "shows, plural!!! The tickets were $35, which as advertised, is for three bands. Also wanted to add, when you click the Link to buy the event ticket, their was only one option available to buy the ticket (not three). Well, after the first show (which lasted 2 hours), they kicked everyone out. My husband talked to the front desk staff, and they were completely rude. He was told each show was charged separately and then they told him to get a lawyer! (WTF!) If you purchase advanced tickets, beware. You may be getting ripped off! read more

My first visit here after the Folsom Brewfest. I had no idea of the many separate entertainment areas. We sang the night away along with Dueling pianists. It was packed! I hope these entertainers will return. There was also other areas set up for dancing, hookah and just chilling. Very lively place, I kept forgetting I was still in Folsom. I've been to several venues recently and this might be my favorite. The reason I feel this way is because the music was not too loud. I dislike loud music that drowns out singers. It is one of the reasons I no longer enjoy concerts. I was able to hear Curtis Salgado the singer/harmonica player and the guitar player clearly and also the person next to me. I'm not sure if all the shows would be the same, they did bring their own soundman, or perhaps with only two people they were not in a sound competition to be heard. The dive-vibe was great! There are some rooms off to the side and there is an upstairs, I became aware there were people sitting at tables there when beer started dripping down on my head and chest. I wasn't upset it added to the experience for me. The bar has a dance floor, reasonably priced drinks, and a patio if you need a bit of fresh air or need to smoke. There is a cover charge; the afternoon show f that brought us to Folsom was $10. If you get hungry the pizza place next-door makes deliveries to the tables. I took time out before the show and ate elsewhere. It was great to see the diversity of the people in the club. I did not feel out of place and either did S. I would come here again if there was a show I would like to see. read more

I just moved back to Folsom from LA and figured I'd check out my old favorite spot. Boy was I surprised to see this place turn into the dumpster it is today. Super dirty, watered down drinks (I saw the pour), and staff! I guess these days Power House is doing you the favor by letting you in and not you patronizing the spot and keeping them open. I saw a short she/he/they/them whatever you can this little sad person turn away a couple dressed up for a holiday party because the customer wouldn't take off his Cross necklace that was tucked in and out of sight. Anyway, I'm a business owner in the area now and definitely saw first hand how to not treat people. Good job powerhouse. read more

Used to be a fantastic place with great music and friendly people but ever since the first lockdown they have been horrible. They have stayed open since the first lockdown . They have never fallowed the rules. They are always at mac capacity with no masks or social distancing . People sharing drinks and such. Wouldnt be surprised if people got sick with covid My friends went there after the lockdown and they where scared . We have been going other places now that actually fallow the rules.
