I figured that this would possibly be the most important investment I could make; I am not equipped to deal with a house that has lots of hidden issues. After seeing all the positive reviews for this company, I switched over. I could not be more pleased that I did. Dana explained everything in great detail and in language I could understand, and he went through the house with a fine-toothed comb. This home is a renovation, and everything is brand new, so my realtor expected us to be done with the inspection fairly quickly. Dana spent more time than he had to, explaining things to me, telling me about things I'd need to think of in the future regarding owning a home, and taking pictures of everything so that I have a record of where things are and what they do. Working with him allieviated all of my fears around us missing something that would end up becoming a huge expense to me. I felt like I had a favorite uncle looking out for me and making sure that he was giving me the guidance I needed in a process that is totally unfamiliar and kind of scary. I plan to be in my new home for a long time, but if I ever do decide to go through this process again, he will absolutely be the one I hire as an inspector!

I hired Advisor to do a home inspection on a house we purchased in southern NH. We hired him…read morebecause he would also perform the pest inspections, radon tests and water tests. And he assisted in setting up the septic test all on the same day. We were moving from California and could not attend the inspections or check the house ourselves, so we were really depending on him to do a good job. He did the inspections as promised and found some minor problems with the house including a radon problem. He provided a cookie cutter report on the house with pictures and what looks like pre-written summaries of each area of the house. He did suggest solutions to the issues he found and they were handled by the seller. However, when we arrived and moved in we discovered he missed several obvious items in the garage around the house. There was dry rot on the garage door frame, the only outlet in the garage does not function, there are several large chips in the floor of the garage and some of the exterior trim is falling off around the garage door. Then to top it all off they sent the first bill a month late and immediately called with threats of late fees if I didn't send the payment immediately. Unfortunately I had sent the payment before we found the problems with the house and received the harassing calls. I called him up to ask about the damage to the garage floor, dry rot on the door frame and of course to stop the harassing calls. He was cooperative until he cashed the check then I never heard from him again. The only reason he didn't get 1 star was because he was very helpful correcting the radon problem and basically did what he promised, he just did it poorly.

Highly recommend him if you need a home inspection as a buyer! Now, for the lengthier review. My agent provided me with a list of home inspection companies, and after reviewing each company's website, GHHI stood out. I quickly understood what the inspection included, that the team had the necessary qualifications and certifications, and that they were a BBB accredited business with an A+ rating (I verified!). My husband and I had a laundry list of inspections we wanted done, and GHHI was able to provide most of them for reasonable, additional fees; at the time of this review, they also offer wood destroying organism inspections, radon air tests ($150), and comprehensive water tests ($250, includes water quality and radon). The total cost of the home inspection + all add-ons for a 2-story home with an unfinished basement was $1,125. This felt incredibly reasonable, and it was also very convenient to schedule so many inspections with one company. I've only had one other home inspection experience as a buyer, and while I remember that report being detailed and somewhat helpful, the inspector did everything himself for 3+ hours, so we had no context for the details he shared and we felt quite disconnected from the process. Jared (the owner of GHHI) takes a totally different approach, and I'm here for it. Jared arrived early and started to walk the property, and once I arrived, he explained his style and how he prefers for folks to walk with him. I was impressed with how thorough he was and his multi-tasking; not only was he performing the inspection, but taking photos and notes, educating me, and answering my questions. As an aside: I'm interested in learning about my future home but this is absolutely not my wheelhouse, and I think Jared did a great job of explaining things in layman's terms. The inspection took roughly 4 hours; I had a septic inspection at the same time, and Jared was very accommodating (and helpful!) when we needed to stop and chat with that inspector. Jared conducted our home inspection in the morning and we received the report that night! I appreciated that photos were included (for evidence purposes but to also jog my memory) and a rating system was employed. A Table of Contents made it easy to jump around. I think the report provided helpful general information as well as notes about recommendations and issues. While the amount of text was more on the concise side, I felt it was adequate and professional. Jared really went above and beyond during the inspection itself, so I think a review really needs to take that process and those conversations into account. I will take Jared's combo approach, which includes a thorough inspection with the client + conversations + a report with photos, over another inspector's approach that is quite removed and only includes a report. Again, I highly recommend Green House Home Inspection, specifically Jared. He was incredibly personable and ensured the inspection process was educational, and dare I say, enjoyable!

After closing on the property, I discovered during the permitting process that the entire electrical system had to be replaced to meet building code requirements--resulting in an unexpected cost of approximately $52,000. When I contacted Alpha Inspection, I was told they "do not perform code compliance inspections." That response was shocking. The report I received largely consisted of observations that were already visible to anyone walking through the building and failed to identify or even warn about a major issue that led to a massive financial loss. For a $2,000 inspection, I expected far more than a surface-level report with no real value. Even more concerning is the complete lack of professionalism in their follow-up. After I spoke directly with the owner, he told me he would investigate and call me back. That never happened. I waited a week, sent a follow-up text, and still received no response. As a business owner myself, I understand that mistakes can happen--but ignoring a client after such a serious issue is unacceptable. This experience has cost me $52,000 in unexpected upgrades and left me with zero confidence in the value or accountability of their services. I strongly advise anyone considering Alpha Inspection to think twice and to hire licensed specialists separately for critical systems, because this inspection did not provide the level of diligence or responsibility one would reasonably expect.
