Yes it's a busy place but what breakfast place worth going to isn't in the morning. This place has great service. It sometimes can run a little slow since I typically only see two waitresses but the servers are always checking on you and are always pleasant regardless of the rush. The atmosphere is pretty cute, and simple. Where they get you is the food. Their home fries are super tasty, and I love the specials they offer! Bagels are good, eggs are delicious, I honestly have not eaten anything bad here and more importantly I don't feel sick eating here afterward. The place has some cute drawings on the wall, but that's where the good ends. The waitress was incredibly rude. I asked if there were gluten-friendly items to confirm the menu I found online as the menu I was handed was very different. I even double-checked the address and I was indeed at the right place. She was curt, saying they had nothing on the menu. I tried to explain that I found the menu online and it looked like there were some items like eggs and she cut me off, saying she had worked there for 5 years and there was never anything gluten-free on the menu and walked away. I checked the address again and it was correct, so I was in the right place. My aunt and I then proceed to hear her disparage us to a coworker. I had breakfast with scrambled eggs cooked perfectly, sausages that had so much flavor and were bigger than your average breakfast sausage, home fries that were lightly crispy and so good, a thick slice of ham that was also delicious, tasty decaf, and brought home a coffee cake muffin and another one too! Pleasantly surprised by our breakfast this morning. It was nice to see a friendly face, MaryAnne who previously worked at the now closed Cobblestone restaurant in New Bedford. We had time to kill after dropping off our car for a repair and this was in walking distance. We were worried at some recent reviews were questionable but everything was ideal. If you want good food, smiling staff and ample coffee this is your place. We discovered Scrambler's after the storm took out our power. I got a delicious sausage omelette with home fries; my husband got a special that included eggs, home fries, pancakes and French toast. The servings were generous, and despite the fact that they were slammed someone was always there to refill your coffee. There was always a bit of a line, but the staff did an amazing job of turning tables without anyone feeling rushed. Did I mention everyone just seemed happy? One wall is just delicious baked goods; bagels are buy one get one free! And they give you coffee to go, no additional charge! Don't expect anything fancy; this is a classic New England diner. I initially posted under their Google review section, figured I'd drop it here as well. This review was from about 2 weeks ago. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY & TIME!!! After my experience today, I will happily never return!!! I had gotten takeout a couple of weeks ago;(2) eggs over medium with toast/home fries/ and bacon...well I went to my car to eat only to end up throwing most of it away. My eggs were already broken and coagulated some (from sitting), my toast wasn't even toasted really, and they threw my crispy bacon on top of my broken eggs (you can imagine how that turned out), yeah soggy as shit and gross! I would have gone back in to get a new order but as you can imagine I had already waited too long with a near empty ish restaurant . That brings me to today...I went in to give it another go (same order) and let the waitress at the counter know my issue/complaint from last time, instead of being met with an apology, I'm met with an attitude and excuses like "oh it's because it's takeout", like no broad that's pure laziness because they could put my crispy bacon anywhere else but on top of a wet egg yolk smh! I let it go and then proceed to watch her go to the back to the cook/owner to bring my order and watch her basically chuckle and talk shit in regards to my request/complaint, she thought she was hidden and was slick...so I called her out on it when she returned, only to be met with rudeness & a go somewhere else if you don't like it and then tells the cook/owner I'm "yelling" at her, so he pops his bozo head out and says he won't make my order because I'm being rude. This isn't the first issue with this waitress either but it will damn sure be the last & that shit of an owner/cook needs to take several seats with her!!! She didn't bring over the broken down bill, she brought me over a cash register receipt. To which my 2 take home bagels were differently priced, my breakfast sandwich $9.99. This was the worst breakfast I have ever and the service was terrible. It makes me think the other reviews were written by the awful staff. We only stopped here as we passed by the town coming home from cape cod and this was a big mistake. It took 39 minutes to get an egg sandwich and there was no one else waiting for food. I also suspect they put something gross in the sandwich so we just threw it away. This was really the worst restaurant experience I ever had. I'm still in shock I normally go in and get a bagel and they give you another one for free if you buy as is but normally they'll cut it for me. Today I go in and I never seen this guy before short bald with these crazy fake blue contacts and I asked him for two onion bagels and if you could just cut it for me. Small seating area, but usually there is a spot or two available so you don't have to wait. The staff here are always pleasant, and attentive. Food also comes out fairly quick, home fries seem like they are oven baked rather than cooked the traditional way, which isn't a bad thing I suppose, just not my preferred way of having them. read more

Let me start by saying the food here is pretty good. I am a firm believer that it is difficult to mess up breakfast food, or to make it really stand out. They have a pretty good menu here and definitely get points for creativity. Case in point: the hash omelet. Why didn't I think of this before? Corned beef hash wrapped in eggs. It's so simple it's stupid and so good it's amazing! That said, contrary to the only other review of this place, the service was great. We went as a good sized group on Easter Sunday. There was only one waitress working for the entire place, and it was crowded. Even still, she managed to be very attentive and cheerful, keeping our drinks filled and making sure we needed nothing. This is my local go to breakfast place. I've been going there twice a month for breakfast for the past 2+ years. The food is always delicious and they're very accommodating with altering food meals to your liking. The best waitress there has to be Margie (I prob. spelled the name wrong) she is always quick bringing drinks and taking orders and bringing the food even coffee refilling is usually fast when I get her as a waitress. The other waitress aren't bad either but once in a while you may get a slow one since the over friendly nature can cause delays with the chit chat. The value is good for the area and I love the fresh baked muffins. Only negative I'd say is the bagel and specialty cream cheeses can get pricey. I highly recommend this place. read more
