Is it really that hard to allow your coaches to enter and bring in the team cooler from either gate? Give your teams their 3 coaches bands and team cooler band for the entire weekend instead of making them park in the front parking lot when they playing on the back fields. That's what you have a back parking lot for. Do better if you want to be known as a premier facility. Also, remove the pink duct tape on turf from Copper field 3 and try checking the bathrooms throughout the day because they were out of toilet paper in quite a few stalls. read more

This is AWSoME the fields were well Kept and the dugouts were so cool my team loved playing here. The concession is like a Bucees. The ppl who work there were very pleasant and the tournaments were well put together I definitely recommend this to players teams and tournament directors. read more

We showed up at 6:45 a.m. for a tournament yesterday. The place is well run and kept pretty clean. The 2 main grounds keepers were always busy and I thanked them for their hard work all day when we left. A gentleman named Cade was a sweet kid and was very accommodating as we moved from field to field. As for anyone that played yesterday and didn't pick up your area when your team left. Including dugouts and seats y'all outta be ashamed. Our last game started at 10pm and we had to dodge spilled drinks and food melted all around us. We take pride in not leaving a trail when our team leaves. Kuddos to Cade, cashiers and anyone that kept up with the concessions as well as all of the facility folks! read more

We've been to 3 tournaments here and love it!! $5/person with a max charge of $10!! Stadium seating, multilevel seating areas!! Can't beat it!! Turf is fabulous, only short rain delays if any!! Fields are nice and kids have lots of shade!! Dugouts are well equipped and I love being to see right over the umpires' shoulder! Excellent concessions...even some healthy choices!! Grilled chicken sandwiches, cold cut sandwiches on wheat berry bread, popcorn, clif bars, kettle chips, pasta salad, etc. Biggest complaint is the shell parking lot and driveway!! read more

Super cool facility, and probably a real great experience for little league kids, maybe 10 and under. However, for older boys, 14u for us, there are better places. First, as for amenities, there really aren't any at the back field. There was a temporary restroom trailer, that was not serviced and was put out of order for one of the days, requiring everyone to walk up to the main facility during a game. When the temporary restroom was in operation, it was extremely unsafe to access with two concrete blocks to step on to get up into the door. I watched people teetering on the blocks trying to get in. The do not allow outside food or drink in the complex, but have a pretty good concession, but like the main restrooms, they are a LONG way from the older boys' filed. As for the fields, they are all turf, but athe bases are not secured. When the boys slide into a base, the base slides with them, at which point they have to pick it up and "eye ball" it back in to position. One big disappointment is all the parents that choose to smoke their cigarettes around the fields and behind the bleachers, making everyone else breath in their smoke. If you're still playing little league, I'd say give this place a try. If your boy is old enough to b replaying on a 60/90 filed, I'd say pass and find another tourney complex. Toilet facilities closed again for the 3rd time of the weekend. And RIPE!!! read more

My family enjoys baseball... playing and spectating. It is absolutely ludicrous that you are not allowed to bring in an unopened bottle of water in the HOT Houston heat. If you attend baseball games at Texas ATM or Sam Houston, they even allow water to be brought in... because these games are being played and watched OUTSIDE! This place is all about $$$$$$, there is one concession stand and it is not near the Iron fields. I am all about rules, but not when it is not in the best interest of families... families who spend hundreds of dollars to Scrap Yard should be allowed to bring in water!! read more

Scott D. 7/20/2021 This is a terrible facility for older age teams (14U) . The field (Cobalt 2) is about two blocks away from the restrooms and concession stands. There was a temporary restroom trailer next to the field, but it was "out of service" three of the four days ( Friday, Saturday, Sunday) of the Youth World Series Tournament played there. The trailer smelled terrible not being serviced in 95 degree heat every day.This was a major Health Violation, especially during the Covid -19 pandemic. However management did nothing to solve the problem. They were too busy telling people that they could not bring coolers into the facility. The facility did not allow any coolers in the facility so spectators had to walk to the concession stands blocks away to buy water or other food items. This caused them to miss innings of the game that they were watching. The Scrap Yard Sports Complex management seemed to care more about making money at the concessions than the health or safety of the players or spectators. Management was not even smart enough to have a golf cart with a cooler filled with water and drinks on it so people could buy drinks at the field. With the Texas heat , this was a terrible situation for the fans ! The field (Cobalt 2) was a turf field but the bases were not secured to the ground. Every time a player slid into a base, the base would move. Then the umpire would try to put the base back to its original place. Very unprofessional and unsafe for the players. One player injured his leg because of the base moving during a play and could not continue to play in the game. Shameful!!!! I would not recommend any 13U and above team to play at this facility if they play on a 60/90 baseball field. There are plenty of better facilities in Texas that cater to the players and spectators. Don't spend your money and come here !!!! You will be very disappointed if you do !!!! read more

People on here who are complaining about the umpires need a reality check. The umpires are members of the tournament that hires them, they are not associated with the scrapyard complex! From my experience this place is wonderful, well-kept, and super friendly. I absolutely love the facility and the workers are super friendly. The food also tastes great! Shout out to Jesse working the front gate -that guy is hilarious! read more

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!! All of the fields have green chairs with backs and there is a second deck too! The bathrooms were spotless and air conditioned and the concession stand looked like a BucEes. Note that you can't bring coolers or any outside food or drink. A little overpriced for the concessions but I guess that is like any other complex. A solid 4.5 stars. Round to a 5 though!! read more

Beware of female, Caucasian umpire that smokes a lot. She is short, stalky, & has no integrity at all. First she kept trying to throw fans out of park for making "comments". She wouldn't tell us what the "comments" were but kept trying to throw people out. This happen numerous times and I am still confused what was being said that upset her so bad. In reality it was the fans of the other team next to our team making the comments and not us. We tried to explain to no avail. The. She I interfered with our game and told opposing team a parent in the stands was reading their signs. We told the tournament director but he said she was a good umpire. He then said it was her first time to umpire at Scrapyard. We begged him to stay and watch game because she was being so irrational and to see for himself what she was doing. He refused to stay and stated he had nine fields to watch. I still like the facility but cannot understand why someone who blatantly interferes with the game is allowed to be an umpire. read more

To the one complaining about the fireworks after 10:00. My friends live close enough that they can watch games from their back patio. They loved the firework display. They sat outside and watched it. Plus it was on the weekend. So don't be so crabby. Especially when you're not even speaking for yourself. read more

Be prepared to spend money! It's pretty much a $10 park. Each day starts with a $10 parking fee. Ice chest are NOT allowed . . If you get hungry . . It's a $10 menu . . except drinks, they're $2-4. Positives: Nice Bathrooms! Nice seats! Oh . .they also accept all credit cards. That's both a positive and negative . . positive, it's a nice convenience . . negative, you can't tell the kids you've run out of money. read more

Great fields, awesome complex, horrible experience and the worst customer service at the concessions. We went in to eat and get out of the 50 degree, rainy weather with 11 month old twins. After we paid to get into the complex and paid to eat lunch at that establishment we were told that we needed to leave. When I asked why, we got the run-a-round. After discussing the situation with the manager over 5 minutes time, we were finally told that we needed to leave the concessions because of the babies. Here is where I got confused... it's a kids baseball complex. I explained to the lady that we were just finishing lunch that we paid for at her establishment, we were in between games and it was cold and raining outside. Also, the concessions were empty and the babies can not disturb an empty restaurant. She then proceeded to tell me that the babies were not contributing to her establishment because they were not paying customers and that I could take them to the car! By that time I was disgusted with her and asked for the owners information. She again argued with me and told me that she would not give it to me. I explained to her that I was not leaving her establishment until I received what I asked for. I finally got it and we left. I will return to the park but not the concession stand. Lastly, emails and phone calls were sent to the owner and not one has been returned. Shame on them. read more

I came to Scrapyard to have my son play and myself be a coach. We had a meeting and then from there it went all downhill! The communication is worse than trying to keep a 12 yr old from playing video games! Myself and a couple other ppl thought that someone was the Director of 12u and then to help out knowing a tournament was coming up the next weekend I was told to go ahead and buy supplies and get reimbursed by Tues or Weds when the parent pay their fees. So I went and looked at over 40 objects and sent in pictures to who I thought was the director and who is actually the director and was told to go ahead and buy them and they will pay me back in a couple of days. We are talking about $720... not chump change! Then I went to the park after pulling my son and now coach and play for a reputable club. I went to collect what I was told I would get back with them ie the director and the joke of an owner Connie deciding to put her two cents in. Never met her before and she comes up to my car because I parked in the front where only staff parks and there were at least 8 of them open and not planning on staying she decides to start yelling at me and swearing with my 12 yr old son there as well as the so called director of 12u also swore and yelled in front of not just me and my 12 yr old but others hearing as well. I truly DO NOT recommend this place especially if you are wanting your son or daughter to be respectful on and off the field!!!! read more

We paid two months early and were assured we would play at Scrap Yards. Due to weather and bracket changes, our team will not see scrap all weekend. Too costly to travel for a rec field tournament. Food is great for a baseball field complex. Unfortunately the management doesn't understand customer service. Additionally the park policies only apply to some entrants rather than all. We've been here for two tournaments and out of 4 days coming, 3 days we were told we can't have any music playing. Meanwhile 2 teams we played had music blasting and blaring and one team was using a cooler speaker box; coolers and speaker boxes both 'not allowed' They need consistency in applying policies and kinder management at concession stand. read more

I don't know anything about fireworks, but we love going there for baseball games. It's our favorite ballpark! The fields are great, seating is great, bathrooms are clean & air conditioned (you'd be surprised what's out there - we follow our grandson all over & are always happy when his games are at Scrapyard!) & there's plenty of space at snack bar! The kids really love the fields and the turf prevents the rain outs. We had lots of challenges with the umpires..most concerning was confrontational behavior by umps throughout the tournament. Had multiple games stopped short of allotted time with no remedy for appealing. With higher than avg tournament fees, $10 daily parking fee (to park in a distant lot), no coolers and umpires shortening games...it's hard to justify playing here. Something doesn't feel right with this group, but the facility is worth a try for your team. read more

I am a resident living near the sports complex. The owner promised higher fence and trees to shield the homes affected by this development from the noise and light. Nothing was done in this direction. They are noisy late into the night and my daughter cannot fall asleep. The business ethics of this complex are questionable and the management is inconsiderate. PLEASE BUILD A NOISE SHIELD ! read more
