A bit irritated. I have a severe egg allergy. They don't let you type in anything for substitution on door dash. I immediately called the restaurant and explained my allergy to a man named Ian. And when I received my sandwich all three layers of bread were covered in mayo. I can't even take it apart to eat what is inside. I honestly don't know what I would have had to do to get them to not put Mayo on the sandwich as I really took the time to ensure that this wouldnt be an issue and still received my allergen sandwich. PUT AN OPTION ON DOOR DASH. LOOK AT YOUR TICKET. You are wasting food and money read more

First of all the vibes here are top Notch! Everyone is so kind and was greeted with a friendly smile so right off the bat I was left feeling special. We came for breakfast, the boyfriend and I , and decided this was worth trying out because they had English muffins that we were going to make at home but with those conventional store bought muffins and we were just not going to have that, that precise day. The muffins were off the hook and the English muffin was so tasty and definitely made from....Scratch! I did also get a coffee and that was pretty good They sell bread made in-house I believe and loads of delicious baked goods! We left feeling pretty pleased about the whole experience and will definitely come back to try out more of their delicious goods! read more

I would definitely like to come back to try their gluten free sandwiches. I did, however, get to try their gluten free blueberry scone. The scone was not very sweet, which I appreciated, but it did seem a bit bland? My favorite scones are actually from another vendor, and I tend to compare everything to that. The size of this scone was also slightly awkward--it was round, making me eat it in small bites. The top would be sweet and the bottom would be bland. It was overall okay--I'd rather have it bland than too sweet. I'm sure there are better options to try, so I'll be back to update my review :) read more

Cute bakery located tucked away in a strip mall. Plenty of seating inside, easy parking out front. Excellent service and nice selection. Prices are fair and selection is descent. Always appreciate when bakeries sell actual loaves of bread and not just pastries. Also yesterdays goodies at half off, love that! Sadly, the bread was mushy, I prefer mine crusty, crunchy, this was basically a loaf of toast, super squishy, no bueno. Also got an eclair and that was pretty good, not the best I have had and a bit too yolk-ey for my taste, but good. I'd be back to try something else or for some coffee, but not go out of my way to seek Nana Fi's out again. read more

I love LOVE the variety at the beautiful bakery! The English muffins are phenomenal. I love every pastry I have tried (croissant, the peach scone, guava danish, bread pudding, cruffins, and the Oreo cheesecake). Truly can't go wrong with any item here. The chai is great as well. I just arrived at 3 o'clock and I wanted to order a side of toast and the young lady at the front snapped at me and said "the kitchen is closed." She was very rude and I looked at my watch and it just turned 3 o'clock. We have been coming here for a long time too. We have never had customer service like this. My son was going to order a sandwich so we walked away without buying anything. All she had to do was be kind. read more

***UPDATED*** (SPOILER: EVERYTHING IS GREAT!!!) My wife and I found this place on a whim. On a very busy morning, my wife and I were headed to our respective COVID work from home workspaces when it dawned on me that I could really use a breakfast burrito. About 45 minutes after I said it, she knocked on my office door with the most amazing surprise. She handed me a hot and surprisingly hefty bundle of everything I was hoping for! After DESTROYING the entire burrito in a matter of minutes (any reasonable person would have just eaten half) I asked my wife where she found such a gem. She told me she searched "breakfast burrito" in the delivery app and went with the highest rated. I was floored when I found out that the burrito (literally STUFFED with avocado, bacon, sausage, egg, cheese and potatoes) was not only less than $10 but also was made at a "bakery-cafe." This burrito rivaled any burger joint in the area and even put a few taco joints to shame for LESS money. Now that we've ordered a second time with equal satisfaction, I HAD to post a review! Scratch makes one of the best breakfast burritos in the area! !!!!UPDATE!!!! We've become addicted to this place! This review is for the limited experience with the Scratch Bakery. We were actually going to the Trader Joe's next door, but decided to stop by and check the bakery out. We left with a couple of baguettes as the place was getting really busy around the lunch time. The baguettes were simply outstanding. We shared them with friends for lunch, and based on the general opinion, they were literally as good as the real French baguette can get (based on the opinion of the people who experienced French baguettes first hand in Paris). The food tasted fine, however, the service and cost were outrageously, unbelievably terrible. Two coffee drinks, one danish and two slices of gluten free toast was $21. Normally $3.95 for toast, but $1.00 more because it's gluten free. So basically $2.50 for one slice of toast with butter. That's criminal. And my cappuccino took 15 minutes while my husband's macchiato took less than one minute, and there was only one iced coffee drink delivered between our drinks. I will not return. Way too expensive for the service and quality. read more

I am celiac and ordered from here due to "gluten free friendly" being advertised on this page. I ordered French toast gf and requested no hash brown due to possible cross contamination, and included "gluten allergy" in the instructions. I also ordered avocado toast with instructions stating to use gf bread and stated "gluten allergy". Neither instructions were read as I was given a non gf avocado toast, and a hash brown in the French toast order. Please be careful if you eat here with a gluten sensitivity or celiac, or double check with the restaurant when picking up to ensure they followed any instructions you left. read more

Loved this bakery! The almond and chocolate croissants were scrumptious! They were flaky, buttery, and rich. We really loved them. The almond filling was so flavorful. The avocado toast looks simple and unassuming but one bite and we were hooked. We really enjoyed our lunch and look forward to our next croissant. read more

Nice little cafe and bakery in Laguna Hills with shaded outdoor seating. Order at the counter. Friendly staff. They bring the food to you. I had the French toast, Applewood bacon strips and hash browns - everything tasted good. I am deducting a star because my husband didn't like his breakfast sandwich as much - think of a pricier Egg McMuffin. He said the eggs were too salty and the (American) cheese slice was not melted at all. Would still recommend this restaurant for breakfast. All their baked goods looked wonderful, but we did not try any this time. read more

Lots of fresh baked goodies that are reasonably priced. My husband had a chorizo burrito that was flavorful, but without the usual greasiness of chorizo. I had a breakfast sandwich which was basic, but the gluten free bread was light and airy- really good! The service is friendly and laid back and while there is no inside seating, there are some tables set up out side to eat at. I would return here. read more

Was visiting Trader Joe's to get my wine and fresh produce (but their dessert selections are pretty sparse) so I popped on over to this Bakery. Amazing selection, excellent customer service. The smores bar is decadent, and that coffee cake is so moist and delicious!! I noticed they have a menu for various breakfast and lunch sandwiches. I will definitely come back! Read a previous review that they had bad customer service ... but clearly they have fixed that issue because they were very attentive to me! read more

Something went terribly wrong at my favorite bakery today. We arrived to see a lineup out the door which is not the exception lately at restaurants still open for service. It took 20 minutes before we could request a soup and another ten minutes for it to be delivered to our patio table. The soup was room temperature. The staff were disorganized. read more

Went to Nana Fis for several reasons. 1) They are a family at the school where I teach. 2) Have heard good things (and had a few sneak samples throughout the year). 3) Bought the $10 for $15 deal on Yelp, so why not get a deal too? The bakery/cafe is cute and quaint with outside or indoor seating. Tons of fresh packaged breads available, cakes, and baked goods. We had just eaten lunch so we didn't order any food, but the menu looked good and prices seemed reasonable. In the end (to also make my husband at home happy), I bought a french baguette, two red velvet cupcakes, two chocolate croissants, a slice of double decadent chocolate cake, and a cinnamon scone. No complaints from anyone here! :) read more

I've come to really love this spot! They always have delicious gluten free options, and they are so welcoming and accommodating. Specifically, today I was really craving one of their amazing (and giant) GF Chocolate Chip cookies. I couldn't leave work, so I planned to order through DoorDash. The GF Cookie was not listed as an option on the DoorDash app, so I called the bakery to see if I could order a scone and receive a cookie instead. I spoke with Oscar, and he was incredibly patient, kind, and helpful. He allowed me to do this since they are the same price, and he even threw in a second cookie for free! It was such a kind gesture, it made my day. I'm so grateful for the incredibly kind staff here. Oscar is the manager, and you can tell he leads well by the way his staff treats customers. The best thing about Nana-Fi's is the yelp deal and yesterday's treats for 50% off. Good deal! Everything is made fresh and you can truly taste the difference. It took a while to get our turkey sausage breakfast sandwich. But that's okay, it came out savory. The English muffin itself was the best part of the sandwich actually- very tasty! Still, the overall sandwich was nothing to write home about. The cream puff had sumptuous sweet cream filling but the pastry puff was a bit too chewy - not light and airy as it should be. The mexican wedding cookie was absolutely perfect. And so was the linger cookie. Yummy!.. The lemon loaf was dense like a pound cake with a hint of ginger (right on the nose!) and the icing was legit. Overall, this was a nice spot. But I'm not raving. read more

Nana Fi's now serves StumpTown Coffee. I had toast with a side of avocado. I was impressed with the amount of avocado I got for just a buck. The veggie sandwich is piled high with fresh ingredients. The place is very clean, the service was great and the prices are pretty average. I didn't try any of the baked goods this time, but maybe sometime I will as they have quite an assortment of cheese cakes, cookies, and cake, all available by the slice as well as whole. They offer breakfast burritos on Saturday and Sunday only. I may need to go back this weekend and give them a try. read more

I stopped in around 9:30am Sunday morning hoping to snag a cake for an extremely last minute get together the same day with some girlfriends who both recently had birthdays. This little cake was in the case (they have a bigger version too) and I figured this would be the perfect size for a smaller group, which it was! The lady at the counter asked if I wanted to have anything written on it and I went with the "happy birthday" chocolate sign. The cake itself was delicious, soft and tender crumb, with good frosting to cake ratio. Great chocolate flavor, not overly sweet. The ladies let me take a slice home for my husband afterward and it kept perfectly in the fridge overnight, just as moist and tender the next day. It took about 10-15 minutes for our food to arrive, which was reasonable, and we were so excited for it. Needless to say, I nearly devoured my chilaquiles. The sauce they put on it was creamy, and they also gave me a hot sauce that really tied it all together. My favorite part of it all, was the thickness of their tortilla chips that allowed it to stay crispy for a majority of my meal. Really love this spot, and can't wait to make it a regular spot!
