While in the area I looked up coffee shops and came across Tru Bru. It has been on my list so I decided to stop in. It is a little tricky to find. There was plenty of parking. The employee was very friendly. I went with an iced vanilla latte. I asked how the banana bread was, she said amazing so I got one. It's gluten-free chocolate banana bread. It was so good! It was moist and the perfect balance of banana and chocolate. I'll definitely be going back to pick up a muffin soon. The drink was also really good. Tru Bru Coffee in Laguna Niguel is one of those hidden gems you would definitely miss if you're not specifically looking for it. Tucked in the back corner of a quiet, mostly empty plaza, I honestly thought I was going the wrong way--but I'm so glad I kept going. The shop itself is small and charming, with a few bar-style seats and a clean, simple setup. The menu isn't huge, but it's focused and high quality. I came specifically to try the chai tea latte after hearing great things and ended up getting a dirty chai--it was phenomenal. Easily one of the best I've had. Smooth, the right amount of sweet, and perfectly spiced. I also asked for a recommendation and was told they make their vanilla in-house, so I ordered an iced vanilla latte. It was delicious--super balanced and not overly sweet. The flavor of the coffee itself really came through and made it enjoyable. While the Laguna Niguel location is smaller and more grab-and-go, parking is easy and it's a great stop if you're in the area and want a quality caffeine fix. I've heard the Irvine location has a bigger menu and more seating, so I'm definitely planning to check that one out too. If you're a chai fan or just appreciate well-crafted drinks, Tru Bru is absolutely worth a stop. read more

Menu is simplistic with drip, espresso, lattes, cappuccino, cold brew, etc. I went with a matcha latte and a chai latte. Milk substitutions available and sweeteners as well. I thought they matcha was decent, it comes unflavored so added vanilla flavor, the matcha flavor wasn't as strong as I liked. The chai was pretty flavorful and would recommend this one! This coffee place would never be found unless you learned about it on Yelp or social media. It is in an industrial section on the border of Lake Forest/Laguna Hills, in the rear of a business complex. Even if you were in the area (for which there is virtually no reason you'd normally be) you'd never find it as it isn't visible from the street. I drove past the driveway to the business complex a couple times before I figured it out. The interior is tiny; just a few stools at a counter along the front window. It's more of a grab-n-go place. My guess is that this is where they roast their coffee and figured 'what the heck, let's let people buy coffee drinks here too if they are able to find us.' The two women working here were cordial and efficient. I got a hot mocha and a chocolate chip cookie from their small selection of pastries. I enjoyed both in my car. The mocha was served at perfect drinking temperature. It was good as was the cookie. Neither was exceptional or wooed me to return. But if I worked in the area it would be a nice place to grab some coffee now and then. If you don't work in the area it's sort of a fun treasure hunt. read more

ORGANIC COFFEE ROASTERS !!!! WOW! I stopped in here on the way back from my morning errands commute. So I decided to try their seasonal gingerbread iced latte. I also grabbed one of their banana bread treats which is also organic, gluten-free and has chocolate chips. The latte was very delicious has a good gingerbread spice flavor and comes with a small gingerbread cookie 5/5. The banana bread was a perfect treat to go with the coffee, the taste was on point to what I've been looking for 5/5 for flavor and size. The barista was very nice and gave suggestions and I opted to try the seasonal drink! It has a small seating area inside and a window inside of the roastery, everything looks nice and new! It was a little hard to find because it's in a industrial park. But the majority of maps will get you to the right building. Make it easier on yourself by driving straight after pulling in the driveway then look left and it will be on the furthest corner space. Very cute spot conveniently located and with ample parking. I tried the passion fruit tea, strawberry scone, and banana walnut bread. The tea was sweet but not overly so and the pastries were soft, warm, and delicious. The service was also quick and friendly. Tru Bru is located in the back of a business complex area. There is a lot of available parking. Once you go inside, it's bright, clean, nice decor and full of good vibes. It is a small coffee shop but they do have a little seating and they roast the coffee inside. You can see it through the glass window. They have coffee, matcha and homemade snacks. The employees are super nice and happy. I will be back. I ordered the matcha and banana bread. Banana bread is amazing, matcha is ok. What would make the matcha better is house made almond milk or Good Mylk. The non clean organic milks just taste awful. Please get house made milk asap! It will change the flavors in a positive way! Glad they opened a Tru Bru in the LH area! I tried their large latte ($5) with oat milk (+0.75cents) and their chocolate banana bread ($4). The latte was delicious, a little too much ice for a large in my opinion but had a great flavor. The chocolate banana bread was decadent and not too sweet, I could tell it was made fresh. It was also a decent size, enough to share between two people. The only reason I gave this place 4/5 stars is because it does not state on their menu how much the milk alternative would be nor how much the baked goods were. $4 for a slice of banana bread is a little steep. It's a pretty small space inside but the workers gave the biggest smiles and warm greetings. No restrooms inside either. Regardless, will definitely be coming back. read more

I was in the area and after a quick search, landed here at Tru Bru. It's in a random business complex but pretty easy to find with plenty of parking. The cold bru is very good. They can often be too bitter, but they're perfect here. Plus, for a large size, I think it costs less than what you pay for a muffin at other places, so I'm sold. The walnut banana bread is incredible. Apparently gluten-free, but the gluten-free breads I've had have never been this good. I devoured the slice on the way home. We were skeptical cause it's in an office complex of all places ! So I've decided to try out this new coffee spot that just opened up near my work, and it was a real shocker. From the outside it looks like just a small coffee shop inside a business building, but when you get in you're greeted by the friendly staff that is very knowledgeable about their roasts/beans, and you can see their machines that they use to roast in house. The cortado is not too milky and not too acidic, and their pastries that they bake in house is so fresh and vegan too! I got the strawberry muffin and it wasn't too hard to bite into it and tastes guilt free since its vegan! I'd have to say, this might be my new go-to spot whenever I'm at work now. read more
