I said that was more than I wanted to pay, and did he really think it would take more than 4 hours at the $150/hr rate. He said after talking to me he thought it could be as short as 3 hours. But, he wanted me to be prepared that it could cost $700. He ended up charging me $850 for the 5 hours it took them and $63 for mileage and gas (for a 13 mile move). As you can imagine, I was not happy about that. This was to move 2 regular couches (not sleepers), 2 beds, 2 dressers, and two bookcases, an entertainment cabinet and a few smaller items. I moved all the boxes myself in our cars. The movers were not more efficient or skilled as the last guys I paid from UHaul's find-help service. It took them 5 hours to load and unload everything, whereas previous movers moved the same stuff plus all my boxes faster. I wanted to be happy to support this local business and recommend to others, but I was left feeling ripped off from paying more than expected.

I had a section of the fascia did not have paint on it but 716 guy painted that section before they installed the gutters. They were seamless gutters. The mold was so bad that there was no possible way we could salvage our household!! And I am allergic to mold. So, we were forced to have everything taken to the dump!! On top of it all, the crystal tumblers from an inherited set were stolen. Our huge mistake after trusting their sales pitch was we did not take out insurance!!! We needed 5 items moved 13 miles out of our old house and into the new. I went on Yelp and put in…read morewhat I needed to have done. Yelp sent out the request and I received 3 contacts. Bright Homes was what seemed to be the most reasonable. Jessie came over, we discussed what needed to be done and gave him a $250 deposit with no mention of it being non-refundable either verbally or in writing. A few days before the scheduled date we found we were unable to have the work done on that date so we called to reschedule. At that time, we were told that there was and $85 rescheduling fee which was never discussed or disclosed either verbally and especially not in writing. After much back and forth, it was lowered to $55 and we rescheduled. 2 days before the scheduled date, I received a call and Jessie told me that they were having a special that would reduce to cost of the move by $25 if at least 50% of the cost was paid in advance. Something didn't sound right so we did not pay anything more. At that point, I should have cancelled but I unfortunately didn't. We were told that on the day of the move they would be at our old house at 9:30. A little before 10, since they hadn't arrived & I received no call, I called to see what was going on. Jessie told me that the job that they were on was running a little over but they were finishing up and would be with us in about 20 minutes. A little before 11, I called again and was told that they were on their way and would be there soon. A little before noon, I called and left a message that we would be going to file a police complaint for fraud. Just passed noon, I tried to call again several times but all I got was the Verizon message that "your call cannot be completed as dialed." At that point we decided that it was time for the police. While at the police station, I received a call from Jessie apologizing for not answering saying that there were in Lewiston finishing up the job and there was no cell service there. It might have been believable but the number has was calling from was different from the other he used earlier in the day. About 45 minutes later, the officer I was dealing with called the last number that I received a call from. Jessie answered and told the officer that they were in Lewiston but had just finished the job there and would be at our house in 20 minutes. He told the officer that we were previously scheduled (true) and that he worked with us when we had to reschedule (true but no mention of a rescheduling fee). I told the officer that under no circumstances did I want him anywhere near our house and wanted my deposit back. He told the officer that it was non-refundable. The officer told him he needed to see it in writing. Jessie offered $100. The officer told him it had to be a gesture of at least half, in cash at the precinct. Jessie again told the officer that they were still able to do the job and were on their way but I said no way. The $125 was delivered as promised but it was a business gesture not a settlement. In closing, AVOID this company even if they are the only option available. They are unreliable, consistently lie, think communication is unnecessary and should be either put out of business or arrested.

I was reading someone's complaint/review online about another moving company and saw information about We Move 4U. I contacted We Move 4U and spoke with Peter, the owner and made an appointment for him to come over to do a walk through and give a quote. Peter showed up promptly for the appointment and followed up after as promised, with a quotation. He was friendly and professional in all our interactions. He was transparent with the price. There were no hidden costs and no additional costs. The rate was an hourly rate and my quote was based on the estimated total amount of time it was supposed to take, including travel time, for the move. They collected the payment in full after unloading all the items in my new place. There were different payment options available. They use enclosed trailers, not trucks, to do the moves and they used one trailer to move all my items (from a 3 bedroom house) in one trip. The items were packed carefully and in such a way that everything fitted neatly. I couldn't believe it. The crew (two guys each named Dave, and a younger guy) worked fast, carefully, and efficiently to load and unload my items. Thanks again Peter and crew. I was satisfied and impressed with the service and have been recommending We Move 4U by word of mouth ever since.
