Came in for a Friday the 13th tattoo, I was told on the phone tattoos were $60. A little expensive as Friday the 13th tats are usually $31 plus tip, but I knew Screamin' Ink is a reputable shop, so I went anyway. I was showed what was being offered that day, picked out something I loved, and was told it'd be $150. Confused, I asked, "isn't everything $60," to which the owner replied, "no, our minimum is usually $100, and today it's $60." I was aggravated, bc that's wasn't what was told to me, but I was there and had my mind set on getting tattooed either way. Mike was my tattoo artist and I couldn't be happier with his work!!! My only small notch down (4 stars) is the fact that they are definitely on the more expensive side and are cash only so force you to either come with a wad of bills or use their ATM which naturally has fees. read more

First time here! We didn't have an appointment or anything, they we're having the flash sale so we just showed up. Right away, Diego, helped my friend and I. He was so nice, patient, very professional. He gave us his opinion on like placement and design and he was just so awesome, I trusted him with all of his recommendations. So happy with this place! I couldn't get a nose stud in so had to leave an earring in for the night. The earring was not meant for a nose piercing so it started to get irritated and hurt. The piercer kindly helped me clean it out and insert a new piercing. They were as gentle as possible and went out of their way to help me. I felt safe and comfortable even though I was nervous about how much it would hurt. All 3 of the tattoos and body piercing were done by Screamin Ink. I never was treated poorly by these guys. And I'm one of those people that others go, "YOU have a tattoo?!?!?" when they find out. If anything, they always were polite and sweet to me, even sometimes when I just walk in. They also did my friend's belly button piercing and they were insanely polite to her, made her feel comfortable, etc. I never get the arrogant attitude from the group. They have always done great work and everyone loves the tattoos I have. The parlor is clean and well-lit. They are extremely patient with you. I had a scorpion done that took some time so I was given breaks. Also, the owner kept coming by just to make sure it was doing well. Other artists walked by just to talk to me and calm me down. Also, to assure me that it was coming out great. And trust me, it came out awesome. People love it. Since all my work was done here, I never felt a need to go elsewhere to check prices. If they're a little more expensive, I'd rather go somewhere expensive and get great work than try someone new and freak out because it came out like crap -- then have to get it covered up or removed. read more

I went into this place and it reeked of marijuana and did not look so clean, but I still went up to the manager to ask about pricing to temporarily take out for piercings and he wanted to charge $20 per piercing. The total cost would've been $160. I went down the street to the other tattoo parlor in fair lawn on broadway. It was a much cleaner Oder free establishment with friendly staff that greets you. there lady who does the piercings said sure it takes five mins didn't even ask for money. At the end she said come back and I'll put them back in at no charge. we'll I did go back and she did what she said. so I gave her a generous tip. read more

Jim W. did both of my traditional tattoos (an anchor that says "Dad," and a really flipping awesome Jersey pride piece). Both are incredible. They are the tattoos that I am proudest of and I have seven. The shop is absurdly clean, meticulous, and an incredibly nice place to get inked. They are not cheap, but quality often isn't. Jim also does piercings. A word to the wise: Don't eat fried chicken next door. You may find yourself with your head in the toilet for the next 48 hours. read more

I would rate this shop a ZERO if I can. I created this account for this purpose. I NEVER write reviews, but this was well needed. I want to first say how disgusted and disappointed I am with this shop. I have never experienced a shop where they lie to potential customers just to get a deposit which is a min of $50 not refundable either ( which is ok ). I am SO annoyed due to the fact that originally I was going to get a large piece done but was not completely satisfied with Cat's work. ( one of the tattoo artists ) so I decided to get a small piece. I left the deposit with the piercer/ tattoo artist, Jeremy. My main concern was how this shop prices out their work, because obviously each shop works differently. I was told by Jeremy that they price out their work based on sizing. I was obviously lied to, which was not needed at ALL. Now, I've dealt with shops that either quote their tattoos by SIZING or by HOURLY. The day I go to get my tattoo, I decide to go with a tiny tattoo, to give Cat the benefit of the doubt. ( I was originally going to do a large piece as I have a few but decided why not get something tiny for start offs ) The tattoo which was a very small year, possibly the size of a centipede came up to a total of $100. Cat tells me then, that the min is $100. So you're telling me if I decide to get a tattoo smaller than the piece that I got, more like the size of an ant, that it would still be $100?! That's ridiculous. They lost a customer before I could even become a LOYAL customer. That's how a business continues to remain a BUSINESS. I won't be surprised when this place shuts down. Think about it, this shop could've made thousands with me but instead they played me. Lol oh well their lost. I'll definitely be taking my business elsewhere! I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Don't come here. Go somewhere where you WILL get your money's worth. I came in for lettering work. Black outline and asked for a simple two color faded fill. The tattoo artist added a third color to the top without mentioning it and hardly faded it- a far stretch from the original discussion. He said the bold color and hard line would fade, but it hasn't- and now people ask me what flag is behind the lettering. I blame myself for not asking to see his portfolio first, but either way I wouldn't go back or recommend to anyone I know. read more

Depends who you get it done by (Ian and Jim W are fkn amazing and probably one of the best this area has to offer!) however, the owner (who has also been on Sopranos in a very minor role in one episode) is a complete ass and very full of himself. Yeah, they start off all nice and friendly... But, when you bring to their attention a mistake that took place in the shop they get all bent out of shape. Girlfriend goes in for a nipple piercing. Massive swelling occurs shes told "ice it", as the balls of the piercing are literally being sucked into her nipple. Knowing this is wrong we go immediately to another shop. Where we find out that the piercing was done completely wrong. She was pierced with a 16g curved barbell. Common knowledge in the piercing profession is that : anything below the neck requires jewelry that is 14g NOTHING LESS. Why you ask? Oh, just a little something called "the cheese wire effect" meaning that should that jewelry get snagged or tugged too hard it can be ripped out of the flesh, just as if a piece of cheese wire was going through it. I contact the "piercer" about a refund. He basically tells me the screw off and to stop contacting him. So I go into the shop with a personal statement from Elayne Angel (the MEDICAL LIAISON for the Association of Professional Piercers) and another statement from Christy, the piercer at Body Inkorperated that fixed the botched piercing. When I come in Billy, the owner isn't there. So the guy behind the desks asks if we can wait - he's gonna call him. Sure, why not I drove all the way to Fair Lawn I can wait.... A few minutes later Billy comes in. We start explaining what was wrong. Showing him the statements. He tells us that we we should've came back into the shop and had it fixed. Sure, we're gonna let the kid that already botched this piercing have another go at it. And ya know what we would've gone back if the piercer even bothered to offer that - remember just "ice it". We spent $110 on this piercing - when you spend that kind of money you expect it to be done right. Apparently, Billy doesnt see it that way and knows more about body piercing than Elayne Angel. He was saying that because we went to a different shop to have it fixed, it was out of his hands. He wasnt understanding that the balls of the piercing were literally being sucked into her nipple! Why? Because the jewelry was too short to accommodate the swelling, which the piercer would've known - had he bothered to MEASURE her. (another rookie mistake). On the way out I asked another guy who was standing outside, that Billy cited as "another expert piercer" "HEY! what do gauge do you pierce a nipple with?!" He stuttered and didn't answer - probably fearing Billy's wrath. I said. "yeah so we'll hand ANOTHER guy that doesn't know anything about piercing a needle and let him pierce away. Welp, we didnt get the $110 - which would've been a drop in the bucket to this Cash Only shop. I never write reviews and I never thought I would until today. Now, I totally understand why so many tattooers have walked away from that shop.... DO NOT GET PIERCED HERE!!! read more

The tattoo I got at screamin ink is beautiful. It's a claddagh and Agent is very talented in Celtic work. It came out as a stunning piece of artwork. Everything else was an absolute nightmare. Everyone who works there is arrogant, rude, and not the least bit helpful. I told them what colors I wanted my tattoo done in and the size I wanted it. As the tattoo is starting, he's telling me that it has to be bigger than I wanted and he won't do the 2 basic colors that I originally asked for, because "that's not the way you do authentic Celtic pieces." I don't care if I said I wanted it looking like glitter and rainbows or something altogether ridiculous. If it's what I want, make your recommendation to me nicely- don't just start on the tattoo going "it's my way or the highway." Not only that, but for 3 1/2 hours and a 5 inch by 5 inch piece, they charged me $500 after quoting me $350. I loved the final outcome, but I still will not go back just due to the way they handle business. My friend acterwards went to give them another shot and got three words tattooed under her left breast. She was charged $200 for three simple words and the guy that worked on her gave attitude because she was getting such a small piece and not anything bigger and more worth his time. I went in here with the highest expectations. I found the place to be unprofessional, and quite shady. The guy who was supposed to tattoo me wasn't even the one who drew the sketch I was presented, and after explaining what I didn't like about the sketch, they attempted to explain to me that this was the sketch I wanted, push the tattoo on me, and told me it couldn't be done in color because the sketch wasn't made for color, even though I specifically asked for color... Very disappointed. Looking for a different tattoo shop where the artist who will tattoo will actually draw my sketch also and not try to convince me of getting something I'm obviously unhappy with. read more

I am very disappointed with this place. Went to get a simple third piercing on both of my ears (which was $80 by the way, outrageous) and one of the piercings was so lopsided the piercings were not even at all. I had to take one of the piercings out and went to claires to get it repierced and they did 10x better of a job for half of the price. read more
