This is the perfect example of a place that knows what they do well and they do it right. It is no frills, but it has excellent NY/NJ pizza. Simple, tasty, perfect. On top of that, great prices on wine and beer, pizza is fairly priced, what isn't to love? The only downside is their ranch in 'meh', but again, they do what they're supposed to do well. read more

If you want NY/NJ style pizza in Savannah, this is your answer. Their pizza is not fast but it is certainly delicious! There is no competition for this lip smacking pizza with it's herby sauce and yummy cheese. I like extra sauce and well done and would ALMOST deduct a star because I hate when they put my extra sauce on the top of the pizza.. but it's still so tasty I can't bring myself to do it. Does it compete with the best of New York? Maybe not, but it's definitely the best around here! read more

I was craving white pizza and a lot of pizza places were only open for dinner. I was happy to find that Screamin' Mimi's was open all day. I ordered two slices and they were huge. I could easily have been satisfied with one, but my eyes were bigger than my stomach. The service was quick and friendly and there was a parking lot. The only negative is that it was a bit run down on the inside, but there was outdoor seating that made up for that. read more

I decided to give them another try on yesterday! I was disappointed yet again! They no longer serve beer for one thing, I guess they lost their beer and wine license. The pizza was mediocre at best. The staff was loud in the kitchen and their conversation was riddled with profanity. Customers want to enjoy their meals with each other not listen to kitchen banter! I will not be going back, I hope they make some much needed changes. read more

So I was craving ziti so I did a quick google search and fell on Screamin' Mimi's. I've heard good things about this place from lots of friends, but for some reason I have never tried it until now. I got take out and ordering a baked ziti. First off I was SO excited that they are located in a shopping complex because parking downtown can be rough. I was in and out very quickly not having to deal with a parking spot. When I walked in to grab my dinner the staff was super nice and my food was hot and ready. Once I got home I could not wait to dig in! I also found a surprise in ziti. A huge meatball right in the middle! AND I got a slice of pizza garlic bread. Yum! I was a very happy girl. So, fyi if you order the baked ziti it is a huge portion. It's very shareable, as I had 3 meals out of it! It had a really good flavor and lots of cheese and sauce. I think it was a very great mixture of noddle to the sauce. The meatball was also very tasty and large. I will definitely be going back to try more items off the menu. read more

Randomly selected this place. So glad we found it. I liked the atmosphere. The servers were friendly. We had a combination. I think they only have one size. I could be wrong. As a New Yorker it is impossible to find Jersey/NY style pie in Savannah (or in the South really). Screamin' Mimi's is the closest there is, and it is delicious! I stop and get a carry out pie a couple times a month. The staff is friendly enough, but not friendly enough to make the experience authentic... you aren't going to get the treacle overly nice nonsense in NY so it is refreshing that I don't get it here. They also have Ken's Blue Cheese in cups NOT dressing pouches which is legit. The only thing missing is real Buffalo Wings... I would just die to have a place I could grab a slice, wings, and a draft beer in Savannah! read more

Sadly, I cannot rate the food here because I was not allowed to have any. I tried ordering online, but Screamin Mimi's online order game is not strong. No biggie - I went old school and called to place an order. A recorded message allowed me to wait to place an order - I waited for a couple minutes listening to some jazzy music until a young woman came on the line and said "I need to put you on hold." Not the most gracious greeting, but hey, they're probably super busy, so I'll cut her some slack. Over 16 minutes later I was still on hold - was able to screen shot it before being unceremoniously hung up on. I called back and got a busy signal. Assuming it's great pizza and recommend the owners hire some amazing staff to keep up with demand. read more

We take the RV to Skidaway State Park every fall and usually try to get a pizza on our first night. Last year, we stayed close to the campground and ended up with a pizza that was not a good experience. This year, we asked the desk attendant at the campground where to go and she recommended Screamin' Mimi's. She told us they had Jersey-style pizza, "if you like that sort of thing." I do. It was about 30 minutes to drive from the park to the strip mall where the restaurant is. A few tables inside - they weren't too crowded on a Sunday night. Ordered at the register and paid up-front. One size only - large (about 16"). Ordered pepperoni and mushrooms on the pie. Service was fairly quick. The pizza came to the table in less than 15 minutes. Fresh and hot. Fold a slice (Jersey-style) and take a bite. Good cheese, good crust, good pizza! The place isn't much for atmosphere, but it's good for pizza. Ours had a little soft spot toward the middle - probably a little oil coming down when the pie was cut, maybe a little moisture from the tomato sauce - not much of a problem. Two bites and you're into the good crust. No beer at the restaurant. A cold draft would have been nice with the pie, but wasn't missed too much. They're just a few block south of the historic downtown district - not too far from the end of the Harry Truman expressway. It's the best pizza that I've had in Savannah - so far. read more

Do you want to wait 3 hours for a mediocre pizza? If so, then this is your place. Before COVID the place was good - pizza was solid and delivery fairly quick. I understand how many restaurants have had problems and always give the benefit of the doubt, but this place had gone so far downhill. I've given then multiple chances and every single time they have taken 2+ hours to deliver a pizza. When calling to check in on status, the cashier is always extremely rude and acts like I should be grateful the pizza shows up at all. Hard pass. read more

We came here last year and made it a point to return this year! This little restaurant is funky and cool! The food is fast and delicious. The portions are huge and the prices are cheap. The employees are super friendly and even though they're busy, they still take the time to talk to you and make you feel welcome. First and foremost, let me say that this place is named is amazing who doesn't like a Screaming Mimi. Freshly tossed freshly made dough. Can you ask for anything better. Classic rock music playing in the back ground. Great vibe and the smell of the baking dough is so enticing and alluring. Pizza thin crust with a burst of yummy goodness and delight. I absolutely love this pizza, as we were sitting there, consistently a flow of locals and tourists poring in and leaving with several pizza pizza pizza boxes. I see why now. My hubby and I got into the Hampton near this establishment late one evening and didn't feel like going out and searching for food. It took me about 5 minutes or so to discover Screamin' Mimi's and I saw they had pretty good reviews. I waited for a few minutes when I called to place my order but it was a Friday night so I didn't mind. The woman who took my order was patient and even offered recommendations when I posed a few questions. We ordered the baked ziti, the calzone, Greek salad a small and large a cannoli and a 2-liter Sprite which she suggested in lieu of 20 oz because it would save us some money. I really appreciated that! Our bill came to $50. It took about an hour for the order to arrive but when it did it was hot and delicious. The person who brought our food was also very personable. The portion sizes were huge! The calzone just had the cheese and came with dipping sauce. The baked ziti was mainly pasta, cheese and sauce with one large meatball which I split with hubs because I don't think either of us realized the calzone didn't have any meat in it. It also came with a side of garlic bread. The Greek salad was fair. I wasnt a huge fan of the dressing, which I usually enjoy. The large came with feta, my small had no cheese. The cannoli was super yummy and I'm typically not a cannoli person. Overall, I enjoyed and wouldn't hesitate to try them again when in town. read more

Food is fantastic, arguably best pizza in town. However they have been hiking the prices up to the point it's no longer worth it. It's damn near 40$ for a pie and 15$ for their 2 slice lunch special. October 4, 2018 Thursday - 8:15 PM for dinner 1 adult and a teenager Atmosphere - 4 stars Food - 5 stars Service - 5 stars Background - I just got in town and picked up my daughter. This place came up in my bookmarks. What a better way to celebrate my friend's life with some New York Pizza. Okay they say New Jersey. Today marked one year of his passing. Atmosphere - Located in a little strip mall on a busy street. You could easily miss this place. The place has a lot of character. My daughter was excited to show me the sticker wall. A piece of art that is always evolving. Food Drinks - Old school here, they sold me because of the beer poster. Pineapple Habanero Hop Dang Diggity by Jekyll Brewing. Surprisingly well done. The habanero was mild and was cut by the acid in the pineapple. Dinner - My daughter knows me. The meat lover's pizza was ordered. They have basically two sizes. Order a slice or and 18 inch pizza. As soon as I pulled the slice of pizza from the pizza tray it felt like a New York pizza. The toppings were great but the cheese is the star here. Just the way I like thick and gooey. Service - Spot on. I think they call your name normally when you pizza is done but my cashier told me that she was going to bring it to me. A friendly reminder from her as the pizza was fresh from the oven when she dropped it off, she said let it cool a little or all the cheese will come off when you pull your slice. Future - I would be in trouble if this place was in Reno where I live. I would be here weekly. So yes I hope there is a future visit for me. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Lou C.

The story started back in the 1930's with my Grandparents in their 9th Street South Philadelphia deli and bakery. The business thrived until 1952 when my grandfather passed away, but the tradition of a family food business remained with me until I opened my first pizza shop outside of Atlantic City in 1987. Now living in Savannah, Georgia it was my son Lou Jr and my daughter Tara who urged me to open another pizza shop and, once again, in 2006 we opened Screamin' Mimi's at our now famous location in the Crawford Square Plaza in the historic district located in downtown Savannah.

My partner got the grilled apple pie sandwich, which has fried chicken, grilled apples and bacon. He's not even a big pork person, but that bacon was so crispy and the whole combination just worked. Even the waffle fries were good--crispy, fresh and actually seasoned. We had the Grateful Dead and Wicked Kiwi cocktails, plus a couple of shots, and the drinks were strong, good and reasonably priced. Honestly, I don't have a ton of notes here. It's not trying to be some elevated dining experience. It's just a really good late-night spot with good food, strong drinks, friendly service and a fun atmosphere. We sat inside because Savannah in August was not about to have us sitting on anybody's patio. Definitely recommend, especially if you're looking for somewhere to eat late. Won't eat here again after my family with two young girls witnessed one of the male staff stand beside our table having a very disturbing conversation about following a homeless woman outside and physically beating her. When confronted another male staff member backed this mans actions as being funny and okay. That is not the type of behavior I want shown to my daughter or her friends! An establishment that allows this kind of talk from their employees on the clock or in their business is not somewhere I want to spend money, nor feel safe at as a woman. During our visit to Screamin' Mimi's in Savannah, my family and I were blown away by the customer service -- especially from Chrissy, the friendly blonde who took our order. She greeted us with a warm smile, was incredibly patient with our questions, and made sure every detail of our order was perfect. Chrissy even suggested we enjoy our meal outside, which turned out to be a great idea on such a beautiful day. Her positive energy and genuine care made us feel like valued guests rather than just customers. This was hands-down the best customer service experience we've had in Savannah. If you like Jersey-style pizza, and you're a horrible racist, then Screamin' Mimi's is the place for you! Because in addition to their large slices of thin crust pizza and wide selection of sandwiches, they also have an owner who hates black people and routinely posts disgustingly-racist diatribes on Facebook, often comparing African-Americans to monkeys and openly suggesting that they are inferior to white people. If you're fine with giving someone like that your hard-earned money, then stop by and enjoy! But I'll never go here again. read more

Love the food. But the pizza on their website listed for $27 when you pick it up is $33. The side salad at $2.95 is over $5. I don't care what they price their food at but don't list one price on your menu on your website then mark it up over 20% after you call it in and pick it up . A $35 order according to their website was $50 to pick up....not cool when it takes 2 minutes to change your pricing on YOUR website. Seems close-to illegal read more

Owner (Louis Alfonso Cobello) refuses to pay his employees. Inaccurate payroll hours, will cancel your paycheck. A real piece of work. Georgia Department of Labor and the IRS have gotten involved. Illegal and unethical way to operate a business. Do not support this business. Do not fall victim to this guy. Do not seek employment at this store.
