Great food options and wine selections. Small space, but lots of events for wine club members and locals. Good service too! Highly recommend this place. Nice outdoor seating.

Deliciousness - 3.5/5 Happiness - 4.5/5 This is a cozy (trust me, you'll be sitting next to other people) bistro and market with a great selection of wine and some OK food. Decorated to match the season, I had a good time here. I really enjoyed the Thanksgiving themed decorations. All the servers had individualized Thanksgiving themed shirts, many of which gave me a chuckle. The drink selection is impressive. I liked that they had multiple themed flights, and I went for the Pumpkin Pickin Pinots. The wines were from across the country and each was delicious. And they absolutely gave my tummy a happy autumnal feeling. I then had an Irish Coffee that was well-balanced in that the alcohol didn't completely overwhelm the coffee taste (as all too often happens). I was less enthused about the food. I ordered the Mahi Mahi tacos. The toppings overwhelmed the fish and the side sauces didn't really add anything to the dish. I was hoping for food that packed as much flavor as the wine. I'd absolutely pop back in here for a flight or two (or three!). Good service, friendly fellow customers, and great wine!

Never heard of this place and was skeptical when a friend suggested it! Close enough to walk from Clarendon metro stop. Place was hopping. We got the last table outside. Service was great. We each got a different flight so we could taste 8 wines total. My flight of four were all red and from Italy. My friend got the safari flight. We compared favorites in each flight. Fun place. And the wine is good! Inside they had a cheese refrigerator.

Nice happy hour spot. Limited menu but good wine available. The empanadas were good. The chips were meh, very little to them. Just potato chips and few had some melted cheese on them. The server was nice and friendly. Small spot. Make a reservation if you want a spot to sit other than the bar.

Had a great time with friends here! Pick a table and you can order from your phone. The place is beautiful, lots of wine options, very lively in there. I ordered a grilled cheese to pair with my Mexican wine flight. They bring a sheet that explains each wine and they tell you where to start and which direction to follow. I love a wine flight because it lets you try different wines before committing. I'm sure if you needed help deciding a glass to have, they would assist. Cute spot!

Wine flights- liked the little descriptions they came with to explain the wines you're getting. A bit pricier than similar places nearby but the wine was good. Food- disappointing. The shrimp saganaki was pretty good but the flatbread was dry, with not a lot of flavor and too much chicken The service was quick but they could've done a better job with explaining the differences in the flights and providing recommendations

Love the concept and the ambiance/cool factor of the bar. When we walked in we went straight to the bathroom -one of the workers stopped my husband -" do you have a reservation?" The place had many tables inside and out so i guess she thought we were homeless using the bathroom. I dont think we look homeless-maybe they have a problem with that. Then we sit down and have no internet to scan the qr code for the menu. We tell the waitress that and she never says- hey we have the wireless pw right here . So brings us paper menu. Which is fine but would have liked to know the wifi pw was on the cork on the table since we had to share the paper menu. It turned out well. Food and drinks were great- had paid to park and found out they have use to the public garage next door . Maybe next time will be better. Service is a little slow but you do need some time to go through the menu

My friends and I came here to celebrate Halloween and it was fantastic! One of my friends and I shared the grilled cheese sliders and empanadas on the happy hour menu, which was wonderful. I also got the pumpkin pie which was very good. The service was quick! Our waitress was great! The ambiance was wonderful. They seated us at a big seat table where we were able to hear each other. I can't wait to go back again. Of particular note, the chocolate lava cake was great too!

The Guide To Imbibe book featured Screwtop Wine Bar (Buy two flights, get them 50% off), so I took my mom and we went to the establishment. It's a bit hidden when looking for it on the street, and it's a bit small on the inside. The servers were very attentive and quick! I got the Virginia wine flight, my mom got the Australian wine flight. It was a very good and varied selection of wines. I didn't know VA has such good wines locally! For food, I got the mahi mahi tacos. Not the best tacos in the world, but not the worst. I wouldn't re-order again. The taco itself needed a lot of seasoning and flavor. The chipotle sauce they gave had a great kick to it. And for dessert, we treated ourselves to a chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream! It was warm, gooey, and reminded me of my childhood! I loved it!

Located in Arlington, street or garage parking are the options for this restaurant. Its located on the side of an apartment complex. It is cute but very very small. I felt very squished and not really able to sit and relax. We had reservations for 11:00am but only two others parties were there. Overall, I felt like it was an average experience, average food, and cramped space. Decent- good pricing though (which I bumped it up a star for). Couldn't really put anything else on the table. Wasn't able to scooch by the next table without asking our table neighbors to move.

Looking for a place with a good wine selection and good food options, Screwtop is your place! The service of the staff is what keeps me coming back. They are always friendly and able to help select some amazing wines to try. I like how they have many wine tasting options, and they are always changing to keep the menu fresh. I love how they even have some Virgina Wineries on menu! I highly recommend visiting!

Amazing happy hour! $8 wines and food. The server advised us the chicken empanadas were only slightly spicy and this was accurate. I liked the empanada. The grilled cheese is soooo cheesy and delicious. Very good service, I'd go back for sure.

    Blerta S.

The wine and service were good. They have a bunch of selections of wine to sell but the one you drink over there it will be tripled in price . Doesn't make any sense you can buy a wine for $25 but if you drink it in the store it's going to worth &76

FSG is sandwiched between One Good Tern Wild Bird store and Simply Fish restaurant in an odd layout of a strip mall off Quaker and Braddock in Alexandria. They have a vast selection of wines, ports, cheeses, caviar, and breads. What keeps us going back, and a lot of our friends talk about this, too, is that there is not a hint of pretention there. The owners are so very helpful, patient and kind. The prices are also comparable to bigger stores and chains. And, of course, they do generous case discounts. We normally buy cases of the Le Petit Duc La Porte (glad I'm typing it because I can't pronounce it) and we get a better price at Fern Street Gourmet than what they're selling it for at Whole Foods. Off-street parking is almost always available here. I know they do tastings, too, but have never been to one. If you're looking for a nice pairing for a special dinner or holiday meal but don't want to feel looked down upon like in some other wine joints, check out Fern Street. Clare, from Tallula wine bar, works here part-time, too, and really knows her stuff.
