Seriously the BEST gluten free bread I have ever had! I had the Wild Turkey sandwich and had to make sure it was made with GF bread. Crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, perfection! First time at a cider bar and wasn't sure what to expect. Scrumpy's was great and unique. I didn't love all of the ciders in the summer flight we tried but everyone has different taste. The apple strudel and chocolate cherry was awesome!! The vintage building atmosphere was great and the food smelled amazing! We couldn't have asked for better service either. Awesome cider! Love the classic dry cider and the blueberry lavender. I definitely want to go back to try them all! The food is just fine, nothing special. The sandwiches are pretty good but there are much better options for food in old town. Went in there with a buddy and literally sat at the bar for 15 minutes without anyone helping us. They were actually purposely doing it from what I could tell. The place was filled with college hipsters from the place next door, and obviously we weren't one of them, so they decided to shun us. Never have I been treated so poorly in a Fort Collins establishment. We got up and walked out. Again, without anyone saying a word and sitting at the two seats at the bar right next to the cash register. The owner is actually a nice guy when I met him the first time I went in. It's his late night employees that suck. I'll go across the street to the new cider bar since the cider, food, and service is much better IMO. I will never go to Scrumpy's again. I posted another review on them, but Yelp liked to somehow filter out my first review as a non rating. Complete BS. Seems like a pretty lame way to filter out any reviews they want with only good reviews... read more

We enjoyed both the service we experienced & the ciders! We are locals & take our guests, to try the large sampler tray(8 flavors!) and then pints. It is a true, local, mom & pop kind of place - the apples are picked, pressed & fermented by the owner(s) - it offers a change from the ubiquity of beer in this town. The sandwiches are tasty as well. It's a nice, casual place. They also offer ciders & meads from all over - not just what they make. read more

Scrumpy's is a very laid back restaurant with a bit of a bar feel with it's high bar stools and small tables, large open kitchen/food prep area, lengthy hand-writren and creative menu on the left wall when you walk in, small, intimate environment (only about 6 tables total), fairly loud music and large screen tv's playing, and alcoholic beverages served. They advertise daily beer specials (PBR) at only $2 each if that's your thing and they food prices are very affordable too; especially when you get to the best part in my opinion and that's the FLAVOR! I'm honestly not a huge Calzone fan when I've had them at places before, but this friendly little dive with it's huge and varied selection has changed my mind about that and has my vote for THE BEST CALZONES hands down! The way the crust is flaky and toasted and kind of buttery and melts in your mouth is to die for! So... Jennifer and Todd... they've got the stories to tell about the cider they serve. And, they're passionate about cider, conservation (reclaimed fruit from orchards going to waste or orchards disposing of fruit due to fruit deformity- yes, producers who have fruit who don't meet the perfect specs on a pear, apple, cherry, blueberry etc.... it is left to rot or thrown In the river. What?!? That "imperfect" fruit could be turned in to perfect cider or food. Stop the waste, eat here, drink here and change the overall thoughts on "wasted" fruit. I don't know how I feel about this place. My wife loves cider, so we were really excited. We did the flight of 13 and there were brews we liked and those that we didn't like as well. My only real issue was the lack of variety. 5 out of the 13 were woodchuck brew. Not a bad brand but not something I want to try at a "specialty shop" I hope that they can broaden their horizons in regards to what they offer. read more

The staff are poised to answer any questions even if it's just "what's your favorite" and some of their suggestions are awesome... Have you ever tried blueberry mixed with pineapple? I'm really picky, which is why I've turned into a serial dater, but once again, I'm giving a Colorado establishment five stars! The most memorable aspect of Scrumpy's was their staff. I left the place feeling like I had just visited an incredibly hospitable family member. I tried the Normand, which exceeded my expectations as much as the servers. I've been to Normandy many times and this sandwich does its namesake proud: fresh homemade bread, perfectly tart apples, delicious Brie and pepper jelly to enhance its flavors. Outstanding cider house and a great restaurant to boot. The owners, Jennifer and Rodney, were very personable and answered my numerous cider-geeky questions without hesitation. They even showed me around their fermenting room (they are in the process of ramping up to ferment their own cider on-site). They are the real deal; I'm very happy that Scrumpy's has opened and I look forward very much to their upcoming house ciders. Try some of their ciders from Blue Mountain out of Oregon...these are high-quality, artisanal ciders. Their Blue Mountain Dry is essentially an apple champagne and is not to be missed, nor is their cherry cider. read more

This cider house rules! I have not eaten there but have visited several times to imbibe in their catalog of ciders. They produce and offer a wide variety of ciders which is refreshing as my palette tends to favor sweeter beverages as opposed to bitter, hoppy beers that seem to dominate the market right now. Yelp guided us here for a late-ish dinner when we were in Fort Collins, and everything about this place was good. Scrumpy's is a low-key bar that serves excellent sandwiches and ciders. I can't remember the sandwich I had, but it was good. I really enjoyed the cider flights - we ended up trying all three (two that first night, and we came back two days later).
