Met a friend for brunch on a Saturday morning. We did have a reservation. We arrived 10 minutes prior and there was a line. They seemed short handed as it took until 15 minutes later for us to be able to let someone know we were there for our reservation. We were then seated in a side room of sorts. Our server came and welcomed us and snagged our drink order while we looked over the menu. A while later he returned with our beverages and took our food order. I chose to enjoy a glass of Sparkling Rosé by Gruet out of New Mexico. Lovely. The decor is an interesting mix of things. Odds and ends that come together to be their vibe. They have lots of great plants throughout the building as well. Our food arrived and we enjoyed it thoroughly. I chose to get the shrimp and grits. I added on a side of their collard greens. Those were delicious. the shrimp was well seasoned and grilled on top of some lovely, cheesy poblano grits. Two basted eggs crowned grits with a crispy tortilla strip garnish. My friend gave me her slice of focaccia toast. That was hearty. Being that we were in a side room and no one else was seated at the immediate tables, it was easy to be forgotten. We had to flag down our server to get our check so we could head on our way. I do understand how hard it is when short staffed. Overall solid beverage choices and great food. The staff is very pleasant.

This lovely place is mostly farm to table, so very fresh. The food was delicious. The tables were reclaimed wood. The service was top notch! I had their scallops over pureed leeks, yum!! A fresh salad, which could possible be the best salad I have had in awhile. And, I had their meatballs, sitting in a rich tomatoes sauce. The presentation was great and thr taste was better. However, the service was the best part. My only issue was that I was not a fan of their focassia bread. It was too oily and not soft. Otherwise, I would highly recommend trying this place. Get the fries, they smelled amazing!!

Came for a graduation celebration this weekend and was pleasantly surprised by my meal at the regional. I loved the scallops as a main dish paired with the regional salad. The salad is light but flavorful, and the scallops were buttery paired with the savory leeks. The star was the carrot cake! The frosting was creamy and delicious and I loved the little raisins and dried fruit in the cake. Our waiter was very busy, but we still got our food in a timely manner. It was pretty loud inside but super cute and well decorated. Much better than other restaurants I've visited in Fort Collins!

I tried this restaurant based on reviews and it was more of a specialty experience than I was expecting. The menus wasn't as well rounded as I would have liked so I opted for vegetarian options, roasted cauliflower and garlic ghee fries. The fries were not hot and extremely salty. I may have enjoyed the cauliflower more if paired with something else. The waitress was very nice and I loved the cozy rustic decor of the restaurant. My dietary restrictions may have prevented me from getting the intended experience at this establishment.

"Mystery Date Night" wasn't much of a mystery--but it was absolutely perfect. For years, we've talked about going to The Regional, admiring its charm as we passed by on countless evenings. So when I asked my wife what she wanted for dinner, her answer was clear: Let's finally go to The Regional. From the moment we stepped inside, the restaurant's warm and inviting atmosphere wrapped around us. The glow of string lights, the hum of conversation, and the unmistakable scent of good food being crafted with care--it all felt magical. Reservations are a must since this place is so popular. We called at the last minute but we were able to get two seats at the bar, and it was perfect. There we met Trevor, the bartender, who immediately made us feel at home. He was warm, friendly, and the kind of person who makes a dining experience even better. The Regional takes pride in working with local Fort Collins farms and single-family suppliers, and you can taste that dedication in every bite. I ordered the Double Bone-in Berkshire Pork Chop, a beautifully juicy cut served over cheesy poblano grits, apple marmalade, and pickled jalapeños. Each bite was a perfect blend of smoky, sweet, and spicy. My wife chose the Short Rib Mole--a tender braised short rib drenched in a rich, spicy mole sauce, paired with fried plantains, Southwest slaw, and corn tortillas. She let me steal a bite, and I was blown away. The dark chocolate in the mole came through in the most indulgent way--honestly, more than any mole I've had, even in Guadalajara. Throughout the night, the staff and the owners--checked in to make sure everything was perfect. Their warmth and attentiveness made it clear that The Regional isn't just a restaurant; it's a place built on passion, hospitality, and a love for great food. We came in with high hopes, and The Regional exceeded every single one of them. We'll absolutely be back.

So great we immediately made a reservation for breakfast the next morning! (Thankful we had such an awesome server like CJ )

This restaurant is a real taste of Fort Colllins. Even a nice, expensive restaurant and locals wear flannel and boots. No need to dress up. Very rustic with a cozy vibe. The chefs special was a delicious cod in a bowl with broth and bok choy. It was delightful. One of my companions ordered the salmon from the menu and it was basically the exact bowl with salmon. The squash with feta and nuts made a lovely main course for my other friend. The only snafu was that the bottle of wine ordered did not arrive until we were at least half way finished with our entrees. Only saw one waitress and she had a lot of tables to serve. Would definitely return here.

They're rated really high -- actually one of the highest-rated restaurants in Fort Collins -- and from a food perspective I don't really understand why. Sliders with sweet potato fries -- fine, nothing extraordinary. Potato éclairs -- . It was really just mashed potatoes with some topping on it. I honestly didn't even finish it. Mountain oysters -- huge letdown. They came out so overcooked they were basically crunchier than potato chips, with the batter crumbling off. I've never had them before, so I didn't get a good representation of how they're supposed to be -- these were just super-cooked batter. On the space: we ended up sitting in three different spots to eat. We went outside by the street first -- super loud, and people were smoking, so we headed back in. The open spot inside was right under the AC and about forty degrees, so we moved to the back area. The back was fine -- covered -- but pretty dirty, with mop buckets and clutter sitting around. The one drink I had was a good value since we were there at happy hour -- some kind of fruity whiskey drink. It was fine, but nothing I'd seek out again. I hate to give such a friendly place a bad review. It'd be a really great spot if you're a college student who wants some cheap bites and a drink -- but honestly it's just bar food, and the ceiling is probably a 4 on a really good day. I wouldn't get excited to head down there, and parking is a bit of a hassle too. Would recommend only if you're after very cheap eats in that area -- check them out for happy hour. But I would not return.

Eh. Over recent years, I've had very hit and miss experiences at the downtown Austin's. Yesterday…read morewas another disappointing miss. We stopped in for a late lunch, arriving around 2. We started with a beer for my husband and a mocktail for me. The mocktail (blueberry lemonade) was simply not worth the $7 price tag. Mostly ice - filled to the literal rim of the glass. So full when I took one of my first sips, ice fell to the floor. There was just a splash of ginger beer; it could've used more but, alas, no room with all that ice! When I mentioned it to the server, she explained that's how they make them. She offered to bring me another, but it seemed clear she meant I'd be paying for it. No thank you. Next, my food. I tried the salmon burger (new to the menu, I'm told) which is actually a salmon croquette on a bun with some lettuce and vinaigrette. It's HUGE and not in a good way. The first few bites were okay, and I thought the heavily breaded effect was due to biting into the edge. As I continued eating, though, most bites felt like a mouthful of bread. I can only hope there was minced salmon in it, but the ratio was so heavy on breadcrumbs that I couldn't detect it. Not the slightest hint of pink on the inside either. I ate about 1/2, my hungry hub finished it. The flaws of the salmon burger didn't seem worth pointing out to the server after the response I got with the drink. Later, as we walked around downtown, I felt like I had a lead sandwich in my stomach. My husband had a better experience than I. His bison burger came out great. No complaints. Unfortunately for me, I think I'll just have to order very specific things when coming here now. Austin's has sentimental value for me - it's the first place we dined after moving here 27 years ago. Because of that, I keep giving them second chances after they fall short. I just wish they'd return to the days of "you can't go wrong", everything is awesome.

They trimmed the bone end and pushed all the meat to the top. This made them less fatty and stringy, more crispy and delicious. Their short rib croquettes were also amazing. I'd never had a short ribs prepared this way stuffed inside a tasty pastry with potato and cheese. They are my new favorites. I was so full on appetizers that I went straight to dessert next and I have to say that their cookie dough creme brûlée. It wasn't too sugary and the cookie dough flavoring was not overpowering. Simply fantastic way to end a meal. I even took home their brownie and ice cream for my housemate. They said it was the best brownie they've ever had.

On the first trip I discovered Choice City Butcher and the best damn hamburgers I have ever had, anywhere, bar none. I returned for a burger pilgrimage at least once on every trip since. The vibe was casual (order at the counter/bar) and the beer selection was outstanding. This last year I went back for my yearly trip and was excited to introduce one of my colleagues to this place. As soon as I walked in, it all seemed different. The beer taps were gone, a waiter (!!) greeted us and seated us in a foofy feeling booth. I inquired about the changes and found that the ownership had changed recently. The menu was much more upscale feeling (though prices were relatively reasonable) and lacked the signature burgers I was looking forward to. Our order started with the brussels sprouts appetizer. Solid app. Very tasty and nicely roasted with a yummy aioli. My old fashioned was fine, but nothing special (I make a better one at home with $20 bottle bourbon). My main was their Horsetooth Burger (Chili Relleno burger) which was pretty disappointing. The patty itself looked and felt like it was frozen, not hand formed like the old ones. The Poblano was nearly tasteless and way too big for the bun. Overall the burger was very average and not very flavorful. In the long run, I was pretty disappointed in the food. Service, was great. Very attentive and friendly. Despite that, this will probably be my last visit to Choice City. I will mourn the loss of those amazing burgers for the rest of my life...
