Stumbled across Oak and Maple while looking for somewhere to eat. The food was so good. The chicken tenders were just that, tender and had the right amount of juicy flavor on the inside. The waffles were soft inside and areas of crunch on the outside. The ambiance was very relaxed and chill. Music played while we ate. The establishment and bathroom were clean. The worker was nice. She would come and check up on us to make sure everything was good. I would recommend this place for date nights, moments to eat, relax or just spend time by yourself, with a partner or in a group. Such a surprise! We came into Greeley for a show and found this place on YELP. I had the waffles and chicken with gravy and bacon. It was more filling than I realized and I couldn't finish my second piece of chicken. The staff was great - and I would certainly eat here again! read more

Passing by Greeley so this is a convenient place to grab lunch and it's next to University of Northern Colorado downtown. Dog friendly outside dining but there isn't a lot of shade. Interior is cute with booth tables and lots of natural lights. I got the chicken tender avocado salad which came with a bed of mixed greens, sliced advocado, waffle croutons, and a spicy creamy dressing. It was good but not that great. ($15) They have a great menu of cocktails and waffles. Service was professional and friendly. Maybe next time I'll try their sweet waffles. read more

While winding down my Rockies motorcycle trip I found myself in Greeley looking for some breakfast. A lot of waffle combinations so I landed on the Chicken on a corn bread waffle with avocado and a nice chipotle ranch. Simple concept with friendly service but you do order first then grab a seat. The waffles were so soft and I've never had a sweet potato waffle but that was definitely my favorite batter. The strawberry and nutella waffle was also good and the strawberries were fresh. The latte was good, normal. It was pretty busy but we were lucky and able to find a table within a few minutes. Service is quick and the people who work here are so kind. I sat there for 15 minutes without anyone even coming to take a drink order from me. There was one table of customers. It was a large table. However no excuse to be ignored. So I left. I would not advise going there unless you want to be invisible. I left and went to country inn. And there I was acknowledged and served on the spot. My food arrived in about the time I sat invisible over at Oak and maple. I will not return to oak and maple. I was on the phone with family telling them how excited I was to go there. It was empty when I walked in for breakfast at 8 on a Thursday, so great time to go if you want a peaceful atmosphere. I was helped right away and tried the chicken, bacon, and ranch item. I have been to this establishment multiple times, as I am a student and also currently work on campus (multi-faceted human experiencer and former hospitality worker; barista, bartender, cocktail waitress, manager). PROs: -150% Delicious Coffee -REALLY thoughtful selection of spirits--not expected at such a place (a waffle/coffee spot, minus eggs, blocks from a well-known CO school that largely serves underage students in this particular area). -Delicious and Creative Waffle Creations... NOT just for those sweet-tooths out there... us SAVORY FOLK REALLY WIN HEREE!!! BIG DEAL. -A spot cozy enough but busy enough that a nearly-40-something lady could enjoy this sunny spot at any time of day without too many small children running around screaming wreaking havoc on my ear drums (it's a tiny place and the kids that do come seem to behave + enjoy the food = good for kids ANNNND the community, alike) :D -Super friendly hardworking people (primarily women), working here. Two Males I've seen and they're equally wonderful!! BUT, the woman who work here are very passionate about the food they make and fine friendly, straight-forward service!! I got to know O&M at a tabling event on campus and was grateful to learn of the business!! CONs: -Management seems to have some lofty ideals when it comes to all the establishment could offer (I do understand)... BUT the big plans that the owner and/or manager seem to have DOES frequently spread student workers THIN, therefore, service and quality of items can be inconsistent/the quality of the food could suffer on certain jam-packed days where there is often ONE EMPLOYEE DOING ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING. Example: Last time I came into O&M my usual was missing some usual flavor and my americano came hot (I get iced). These are easy things to overlook, but it would happen less often if the students had reliable, always working WIFI and a backup HOTSPOT so when their payment systems go down, and they have a long line... you may be asked a couple times (still) if your transaction went through, get your food 45 min later and run late to a meeting, and be offered a hot americano, instead of your preferred way.... but at least they will be able to serve the rest of the line and maybe another's order WILL NOT be impacted!! Saving the employees day and the rest of their potential ability to make tips. It's an observation that is EASILY fixable and will create more of a harmonious environment for ALL (including the scrambling employees). These situations are NOT the end of the world for me... and a small price to pay for food that is normally STELLAR and coffee that is usually some of the best offered in the area (when comparing Margie's and the John Galt place nearly next door-ish, both of which are my go-to coffee spots around here). ****Last words**** IMO, I could only observe that whomever manages the place from day-to-day doesn't seem to fully understand the plight of the student worker (and all they have to grapple with) while working at such a brick & mortar location that offers BOTH a full cocktail list, sandwich-prep level items, full coffee bar menu, serving tables (delivery of food items), bussing... and all to receive pretty much no tip from a community that seems to be blue collar and then just STUDENTS (again, NOT MUCH FOR TIPS for this level of service offered and this level of service doesn't serve the majority of the population who won't tip much, anyway). If I owned the place I would add an automatic service fee for transactions over a certain amount, as well as a service fee for large tables over 5 (6+) so at least if you are forcing the 1-2 employees to do everything then they at least will go home with a min of $30-40 in tips to make up for things, per shift (I know the employees make approx what I do on campus at 16/hr, not enough for what they have to prepare and serve). OR bump up employees pay to 20/hr, which is livable. I couldn't imagine serving drinks, even at night on a Friday, that you'd make much due to the casual mixed environment of cafe/waffle-serving. I got a gf waffle to go. I received 3/4 of a round waffle. I'm not sure if someone snagged a piece or if that's normal for them. Not sure what they'd do with 1/4 of a gf waffle though. Anyway the consistency is close to a mochi waffle, but without any flavor. Very heavy. I have celiac and they said they have dedicated gluten free waffle irons. We've eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. I prefer things on the sweet side, my sister likes it hot. Mom always gets something simple. It is a small area so seating is limited at times. Employees are always professional and kind. I don't mind ordering at the counter, or bussing my own table. I'm also a fan of 477 Distillery, but it's usually too early for me when we've been here. Very unique concept. I plan to visit often. read more

RIPOFF! We waited over an hour for waffles. I thought for the price we would get great food and the wait might be worth it. For $14 I expect something to be actually cooked, whoops. I ordered chicken and waffles. The "golden crispy" chicken was lukewarm and obviously frozen then reheated. It tasted like cafeteria food. My Girlfriend had very few slices of strawberry on the Riley's breakfast with zero syrup, she couldn't finish her meal due to it tasting gross. Butter is not provided with the waffles, and you have to ask for an extra ration of syrup. No eggs or bacon on the menu. There is no table service, you clean your own table, get your own water, of course there is a tip option when you pay, before you sit down and know this. Until they don't cut every corner to save money and offer a good product, don't pay this business owner what you could make better at a Super 8. read more

We went here for a first time for breakfast. We were greeted with a smile and were explained to about the menu. It's a modern but cute and cozy place. Our waffles were delicious, and my husband's coffee was good. I ordered a Chai tea latte, expecting tea but it was in coffee, soooo it wasn't my thing.
