Scuba Barry is such a treat to dive with. He's incredibly experienced and wants to pass his knowledge onto you. He had all the equipment we needed for diving: wet suit, mask, fins, BCD, tank, etc. I had a 7 mm wetsuit since I got cold easily. We dived at Mala Wharf and Airport Beach on scooters! We also did a night dive with him. Scuba Barry tools photos and videos the entire time and it's so cool to have someone who is a talented photographer take photos of you to make you seem like a better diver than you actually are. He prioritizes making sure we have a good time which I appreciate even if it meant doing things that were a pain logistically for him. Ask for the photos and video package. You won't regret it!

My wife and I had dove in maui before but had a mediocre experience and we did not want to repeat that. I stumbled across Barry's website and it immediately caught my attention. I called and asked about organizing a private dive charter as my wife and I were especially interested in the backside of Molokini, but did not want to deal with the headache of one of those large dive groups. Barry said he would price out a dive trip and get back to me. A little later he provided us with some different options, not trying to sway us one way or the other. We opted for a two tank dive on the backside of Molokini. Throughout the planning process he was super helpful and communicative and we felt well taken care of. On the day of the dive, we arrived at the boat launch to our private charter with Barry+a boat crew of 3. All our gear was set up and organized perfectly. The dives went great and Barry was with us the whole time taking pictures and video (he has an amazing underwater camera setup). He made sure our experience was focused on having a great time, which we did. The best part about working with him was that he acted as the singular point of contact. I didn't have to organize a a charter, equipment rental, etc. He took care of it all. He's a fantastic diving concierge, guide, and photographer. I will also say that his charter price was significantly cheaper than when I called dive shops directly and inquired about private charters. We are already looking forward to our next trip to Maui so we can dive with him again!

I had an Excellent experience with Barry. I have an advanced open water diver certificate, have hundreds of dives but have not done a night dive. I was lucky enough to find Barry to help be my guide for a night dive. He clearly explained the dive plan, what to look out for, signals, safety check, entry and exit locations. Dive went really smoothly, saw lots of critters such as octopus, cleaner shrimps, scorpion fish, eels and many tropical fish. Thank you Barry! I will be back!

We had an outstanding experience with Extended Horizons, led by divemaster Gustavo "Gu." Recent…read moreMaui rains reduced visibility at many sites, but Gu adjusted the plan and guided us to the best possible conditions. That made the difference. These were refresher dives for our group, and Gu handled them exactly right. He quickly assessed each diver's experience, our small group included both newer divers with fewer than ten dives and others with more than 70, but with time since our last dives. His review of fundamentals, safety, and buoyancy control was clear and structured, without slowing the group down. He also reinforced reef etiquette and respect for marine life in a practical, no-nonsense way. This team takes responsible diving seriously. What stood out most was Gu's site knowledge. Not just which sites to choose, but where to position within each site to maximize visibility and encounters. He set expectations on what we might see, spotted eagle rays, green sea turtles, white-tip reef sharks, snowflake moray eels, and more, and then delivered. We saw all of it. With two divers carrying cameras, he was mindful of positioning, and I came away with great shots of eagle rays, reef sharks, and multiple turtles. The highlight was a turtle cleaning station at Mala Wharf, with six turtles active at once and eagle rays passing nearby. It was one of those rare dives where something meaningful is happening in every direction. The attached photo captures that exact moment, multiple turtles gathered at the cleaning station with eagle rays moving through the scene. Operationally, everything was tight: * Strong safety culture and clear briefings * Efficient check-in and gear handling * Well-maintained equipment * Good pacing, no rushing, no wasted time * Attentive in-water supervision without being intrusive * Effective group management for mixed experience levels If you are traveling to Hawaii with limited dive windows, this is the operator you want. They remove uncertainty and maximize your chances of a memorable dive. Highly recommend Extended Horizons, and Gu as your guide.

Phenomenal Dive Experience with Extended Horizons!…read more We booked our scuba diving excursion through The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, and could not have been happier with the experience provided by Extended Horizons. As newly certified divers, we were a bit nervous going into our first post-certification dive, but our Dive Master, Michael, made it an absolutely incredible and comfortable experience from start to finish. Michael was punctual, professional, and incredibly charismatic. He struck the perfect balance between being instructive and encouraging, offering helpful tips to improve our diving without ever making us feel overwhelmed. He really listened to what we were hoping to get out of the dive and tailored the experience to match. We did a two-tank shore entry dive, and it was spectacular. Michael guided us to some amazing marine life--green sea turtles, moray eels, cone snails, sea urchins, and even three stunning green lion fish. His deep knowledge and passion for the ocean were clear throughout, and it made the entire dive even more memorable. We can't recommend Extended Horizons enough--especially if you're a beginner looking for a patient, supportive, and fun dive guide. Thank you, Michael! We'll definitely be back.

Beers, cocktails, spirits, pretty much whatever you wanted and the crew constantly walked around asking if anyone needed another drink. The heavy appetizers were also way better than I expected for "boat food", chicken katsu, Chinese chicken salad, pasta salad and kalua pork sliders, everything was really good. (No pictures cause I mopped it lol) The cruise itself was around 1.5 to 2 hours and our ride was incredibly smooth, although obviously that'll depend on the weather. They also offer a kamaʻāina discount if you call to book, which brought it to around $100 per person for us. Between the views, legit open bar, surprisingly good food and an awesome crew, I thought it was absolutely worth it. Would do this again in a heartbeat.

For us, we prefer the Sunset Cocktail cruise as it's the perfect amount of food and drinks. This last trip, we took the whole family for the express snorkel trip. It's a shorter trip, which worked perfectly for the younger kids and didn't tie up a big amount of island time. Captain Nick and his crew was all about making sure all had a great time while keeping safety at the top of mind. They guaranteed we'd see turtles... we did! Immediately. I accused them of being remote controlled because they were there right on cue! I'm not a big snorkel guy, but I had a blast. We'll keep returning to Sea Maui. Greatest crew on Maui !!

I would 100% recommend taking this trip while you are in Maui. It is an experience you will never forget. We started to trip with cinnamon rolls and they provided really great gluten free muffin for me. Then made sure to always provide GF food options for me throughout the day. Snorkeling was fun and accessible because they had prescription masks available, which is a must if you cannot/do not wear contacts and want actually see the ocean life. We had a plenty of time to float and observe the fish. Lunch was delish and they prepared some tasty gluten free noodles JUST for me. On the way back, one of our daughters helped hoist the sail and we were able to catch the wind of a bit. We also had the good fortune of observing a pod of Hawaiian spinner dolphins on the way to and back from Lana'i. Book this trip! It is SO worth it!!!
