Went for a girlfriend's dinner and the hanger steak, which was rich, tender, and flavorful. Crab cakes were crisp & delicious, service wonderful- attentive & friendly. Highlight for me was the Lougroni, the bartender Louis' take on a Negroni- so good!! read more

I visited this restaurant for the first time and the food was simply outstanding. The octopus appetizer was extremely tender and flavorful. The beef wellington was exquisite and the bread pudding was sensational. All creatively presented and the flavors were perfectly balanced. Our waiter Louie was so attentive and gave great guidance on the menu which was very welcome. His descriptions were accurate to a tee. Finally, although the restaurant had plenty of customers, we could have a lovely conversation without competing with a lot of noise for a change. read more

Been here many times and it's always great, this review is for last weekend. After running late for our reservation, parking lot is full. I go in, to ask where to park, weirdly enough, it's not crowded and they tell me to park at Ace Hardware. I didn't like how rudely the hostess and waiter acted. Sitting on the outdoor patio, which is where you should always sit. We order drinks. I got the Fauxinto, non alcoholic. It was like a lemonade mojito. Mom got the cosmo. We order the coconut shrimp,with zucchini cake, it was delicious. For entrees, I got the lobster ravioli and scallops which I have before but l portion sizes are much smaller. Mom gets beef short ribs, with cheddar mashed potatoes, it is delish. The food is the star here, the low review is for the lack of service, rudeness and parking issues.. For dessert, I had the crème brûlée, which was good. Mom got some kind of Caramel bar with ice cream and and caramelized sugar work. We were celebrating her birthday and they gave us a lit sparkler, that was fun. I will probably return and I hope they having a off night. read more

How is it that I have I lived right around the corner from this place for years and I've never tried it? Probably because I'm vegan, and upon first glance of the menu I didn't think I could eat here. I attended a networking gathering at Scutra last night and was very pleasantly surprised at how vegan friendly the waitstaff and chef were. My meal was awesome, and there was no awkwardness in ordering off menu. My omnivorous dining companions all loved their meals, too. The best meal I have had in a year or so. I had wanted to try a beef wellington, and my wife found this place. Absolutely hands down a perfect night. We sat on the patio right beside a bike trail, the music was great and still allowed conversation. Truffle fries and grilled cheese cake were on the menu, and an experience I highly recommend. Our waitress Maria, was a joy. She took care of GF, and was knowledgeable. Available at the perfect time and in a super positive good mood. Read the signs about where to park is the only thing I would say (luckily my wife saw the sign so it was easy). It was a perfect night because of Scutra. read more

I was excited to try Scutra after checking out their menu and seeing GF next to some of the things on the menu (I have celiac) The appetizers we ordered were delicious - brussel sprouts with ceasar dressing and these corn chips with Ahi Tuna - sounds weird but they were delicious. For a main course I got the sea bass which was pretty good but not amazing. Definitely not cheap and one thing I was really disappointed by was the service. For a place where you're paying that much you expect part of the experience to be the great service. I had to flag down the waiter a number of times because no one was checking in with us to take our order or see if we needed anything. Sort of a bummer since that's such a big part of a nice dining experience. Maybe they were understaffed? read more

The atmosphere was great , service depending on who was doing what ... food selection was good until it came to ordering my salad as a meal. I asked if I could have chicken on it & I was told flat out due the fact the Chef would not do that ? I would have paid the extra but it was not an option that I could have . They had chicken dishes on the menu so how hard would it be ?? Also we asked for more bread - they never brought it to us - so we decided that it wasn't worth it to ask again due to the salad fiasco .... Had a 7:00 pm reservation & walked in probably 5 -10 minutes early. Spoke with the hostess, (I believe owner) & she said it would be a little while as they were waiting for tables to open up. Within just a few minutes, she had us seated. Our server, Ava, came over quickly & addressed our drink orders, fulfilling them swiftly. We ordered oysters on the half shell for our appetizer; they were delivered to us quickly & were delicious! Just wish they had included a little horseradish but no matter. My date ordered the swordfish for his entree & thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered the beef Wellington & understood that it would be served mid-rare/rare. When I cut into it, it was less than rare, more blue. The owner was nearby & saw my surprise. She immediately got our server to address the issue. Ava took my dish back to the kitchen & returned to let me know it would probably be another 20 minutes until another could be cooked. No problem. When she returned with the new Wellington, it was done perfectly mid-rare & absolutely delicious! We shared the crème brûlée for dessert & that, too, was delicious. This establishment is a little out of the way, a bit eclectic in decor, but runs like a fine tuned machine. And that's exactly what I love in a good restaurant! We had a 7 pm reservation for our anniversary dinner. We arrived a few minutes before 7. By 7:20 we were still waiting awkwardly at the door (no seats or area to hang out) because they had no table ready for us. A table for 4 freed up but they said it was for a party with a 7:30 reservation. The hostess offered us a very cramped seat at the bar which was definitely not what we had in mind for our special night out. It then became clear that we may not be seated for a while so we left. The restaurant should not overbook and should honor reservations and realize that it's upsetting to finally get out of the house only to have your plans fall through. read more

I remember going to Scutra years back when there was only 10 tables. I've enjoyed every meal there ever since! There are 20 tables and a nice bar area. The cozy restaurant has a modern and fun atmosphere in which the diner is then rewarded with beautifully plated dishes of exceptional food. Think European flare by a master chef right in Arlington! How lucky! The parking area in front is small but don't fret, you can park after 6 pm at Shattuck's Hardware on Mill Street behind the restaurant. It was girls night out this time. We were warmly greeted and seated right away. Unfortunately it was raining so we were inside - they have wonderful patio seating as well. Our waiter Louis was professional, attentive and had a great sense of humor! He was able to ease his way into the many conversations were were having and took pictures for us. He was very knowledgeable about the extensive wine list and luscious menu. For starters we had: Artichoke Tempura, Strudel (filo turnover) with Braised Shredded Pork Shoulder Cheddar Cheese- Sundried Tomato Oil, Warm Spinach Salad with bacon, onions, mushrooms and feta. Entrees were the Salmon Special. All the dishes were exceptional. Fabulously prepared flavors unlike I've had before. The desserts offered were amazing - but we were too full. Did I mention the wonderful bread brought to the table when we sat down? We are fortunate to have such a lovely restaurant in a suburb of Boston with such a high end chef. It's fine dining without the fussiness, city prices and parking expense. And what a wonderful place for a private party! They cater as well. Check them out, you won't be disappointed! read more

Been here many times over the last year. Great food and drinks. There's always good fish and pasta dishes on the menu. And they change up the menu frequently enough so I can keep coming back to try new stuff. Saw someone else mention it as well and agree - you have to try the Lou-Groni! My wife swears by it. Lou himself also makes a fantastic Old-Fashioned. And I fancy myself an expert in knowing a good one when I taste one. read more

One of my favorite restaurants - run by an Italian and French husband-wife team. A vegetarian ( no red meat or poultry, but i do eat fish) - i appreciate their creative options, beyond eggplant Parmesan and risotto, which seem to be the only vegetarian dishes many restaurants offer. But check the menu - i see there isn't much for vegetarians this evening. My carnivore partner, enjoyed the meat. Ask for the bread which comes with rich olive oil - they're scrumptious. We don't eat out often - it's been our choice for celebration dinners for the past 2 years. read more

Unreal!! I've been coming here for 20 years but today I had to give a review. The dishes tonight were out of this world. Best vegetarian/vegan dish I've ever had. The wild salmon was really yummy but the wild rice was out of the park. The patio is great if you don't want to eat inside. Also the service is fantastic, the staff are charming, informative, and overall just pleasant. So happy this place still going strong. Also, they are gluten free friendly and allergy trained!!
