I built my desktop computer from scratch 8 months ago. All was well until one afternoon last week when there was a loud pop from the back of the unit and the system was inoperable. I was pretty sure it was a PSU failure, so I went out and bought a replacement power supply to test. I was getting some strange results with my test, and didn't want to spend the whole weekend troubleshooting electrical components, so I brought my computer in to SD Computer Repair. These guys took my system, wired up the PSU and got it running no problem. I probably should have done it on my own, but I've been extremely busy, and the price was right, and the turnaround time was reasonable. I'm pretty happy about being able to type this review up on my desktop right now. The guy reminded me to flash my BIOS to the newest version, and did it for me while I was there for pickup. Very nice repair! I had a not-too-old HP laptop that was having problems with Windows 10 updates and it was using 100% of my disk space when Windows systems (like Updater) were running. Sam did a number of diagnostics, communicating with me via text the whole time, and determined the best course to take. He updated the BIOS, backed up all my data (which was in many places/folders/files), replaced my hard drive with SSD, did a new install of Windows 10 and recovered all my data. All in a reasonable amount of time and for a reasonable price. The laptop runs great now - no more slowdowns or overloaded main drive, CPU or memory. Extra upgrades here are worth it if your computer will already be open i.e. SSD or CACHE memory upgrades, so ask!! Don't go anywhere else - I live up in RB and made the mistake of using someone local because I was lazy to drive the extra mile...it was a month of painful excuses.
