The establishment was clean and the staff were very friendly. I tried the rosemary lavender latte and a ham sandwich with Brie (though I can't recall the exact French name). The coffee was interesting--I'd likely order it again to better understand its flavor. Unfortunately, they were out of Brie, so I substituted with a mixed cheese. The sandwich, served cold, was disappointing as the crumbly cheese kept falling out. The Dijon mustard was unexpectedly spicy, almost like it had horseradish in it (a quick Google search revealed that some mustards do). I also inquired if the sandwich was large enough to share with my small children (good time to share it's spicy) and the staff assured me it was. This is my favorite coffee shop in Cannon Beach. Located in the northern part of town close to Tolovana beach park, It's a little off the beaten path but that just means you don't have to fight the crowds. It's a third-wave style café serving Heart coffee drinks as well as artisan sandwiches and baked goods. Their succulent garden out front contains some of the coolest succulents I have ever seen, especially when they are flowering! For the health nuts out there, they also serve a mean acai bowl which comes in a super handy to-go cup. This saved my life recently when I was feeling low energy and facing down the long drive back to Portland on an empty stomach after a morning surf. They've got a great door-front setup for socially distant ordering and pick up during these COVID-times. read more

We went to Sea Level Coffee & Bakery before departing from Cannon Beach to Medford. We passed it several times on the way to our hotel and I just had to go because of how cute it looked. I mean, do it for the Instagram aesthetic, amirite? The inside is just as cute as the outside is. Beachy, light, and airy. Which makes sense, seeing how it's close to the beach. We went ahead and just ordered an iced vanilla latte and an iced vanilla mocha. Service was a little slow considering we only ordered two drinks and there was only two other people in the cafe who already had their stuff. Service was also a little iffy upon arrival, too. Like either they weren't happy more customers came in or they just didn't want to be there. Either way, it was off putting. The coffee was decent, but you could hardly tell the difference between the iced mocha and the iced latte... Seeing how different those two drinks are, we should've noticed more of a difference. Also, it was $10 for two 16 oz. drinks. Seems kind of high to me? I'm glad I came by, but I think I'd opt to try out one of the other coffee shops downtown before coming here again. read more

Delicious coffee! An assortment of pastries, sandwiches and quiche that is so different than the processed items at the big S chain coffeehouse, and leaps above in flavor! Did I mention the coffee? It's the real deal. The cafe is simple, clean lines, beach without being literal. Seats inside and out and just steps away from the beach and right on the main road heading into town. We had a mocha, which was artfully presented, and an Americano, both fabulous. The blueberry and rosemary scone hit the spot. Next time will get the Jarbon&Brie on a baguette. There will definitely be a next time. Service was friendly and took the expected time that all handcrafted coffee shops take. They clearly care about the quality of their offerings and their environment. read more

I am fortunate enough to have grown up going to cannon beach my entire life because my family has a beach house there. It is a place my husband and my family frequent and we love dearly. I will say - since sea level has opened we have never spent a day, weekend, week at cannon without getting Sea Level. Sometimes numerous times a day. And typically every single day we are in town. If you arrive and see a line out the door - it's because there is a reason. They have the most amazing food and drinks and it's all served by the coolest workers. My husband is always getting the vanilla latte and sticky bun and I switch up my orders regularly. Sincerely everything I've gotten from there I enjoy but there is something about the Kougin Amann that I always have to get one each visit. The classic, the ham & cheese, or mixed berry. You really can't go wrong. If it's raining or the line is intimidating you can order online! But they also have a little covered deck space on the right side of the building now. It's totally worth the short drive just south of town if you're not staying nearby! (Or walk along the beach and get off at Tolavana park or just before) read more

Covid-19 times: Customers are able to place online orders for pick-up. I opted for their sticky-bun and vanilla late, as I was told they have the best vanilla late in the area. I was not disappointed. The late was as good as advertised by my source. The sticky bun was equally well-done. Couldn't wait for this place to reopen! Still super cute; not as roomy inside as I though it would be once the build out was done (which makes standing in line a little more awkward). But they still have seating outside, same great coffee, same great group of folks working there. I was so happy to see they kept their rosemary lavender latte on their menu and the yummy açaí bowls! Sea Level's coffee is smooth and creamy, which is why I prefer it to S.M.; no bitterness whatsoever. Unfortunately, Sea Level is closed three days a week which is a bummer. read more

Coffee is great, but their baked items is one of the reasons I always stop by here. Recently has the blueberry rosemary scone which was moist, filled with lots of blueberries and a hint of Rosemary (not over powering). The staff is friendly and always patient. $25 for 3 coffees with the only add-on being almond milk at an additional charge. I ordered the lavender rosemary latte. The rosemary entirely overpowers the beverage and I was delighted with flashbacks to Thanksgiving dinner, similar to sipping bitter stuffing. My friend ordered the same and also did not enjoy it. My other friend ordered the Hojicha maple cinnamon latte and it unfortunately tasted like a matcha latte. A nice treat turned into an expensive disappointment. Please taste test your items, offer more if you're going to charge high prices for a smaller than average beverage and offer more space to stand and order inside. read more

When this place opened up years ago I was afraid it wouldn't last. Happy to see them as busy as ever as they really are the best coffee place in Cannon Beach. I think they use Heart Roasters (don't quote me on that), but either way its delicious. My go to is the iced oat milk latte and I'll say that they make it better than my favorite coffee joints in Portland. Well run ordering system during Covid times and they've built out a nice little covered patio to enjoy your beverage. Cookies are absolutely delicious. In my humble opinion I would skip the açaí bowl (too sweet) and the sandwiches, but otherwise this place is a total winner and a must visit for coffee on the coast. read more

By my standards at least, this is the best coffee shop on the northern Oregon coast. First and foremost, they serve an excellent latte. I got an almond milk latte made with Heart Roasters espresso, and it was great. Leaps and bounds better than anything else I've bought anywhere else on the coast, and I generally bounce between Pacific City and Astoria. Also, they served some really fantastic sandwiches! We were there late in the day so they were already out of baguettes, but our two sandwiches (now served on 10 grain, I believe) were just what we needed. We had the salami + provolone and the jambon + brie. Loved them both. Also the aesthetic is on point. It feels the most "Portland" of any of the shops I've visited, meaning thoughtfully designed and sparingly designed, in a clean and neutral aesthetic. Granted I did visit on a nice sunny day. If they're busy you might be left waiting outside for a while, which could mean you get wet. But I bet even then, it's worth it. read more

This is a cute little bakery about a mile south of downtown Canon Beach. After doing some research on Yelp, I discovered that they offered interesting pastries, including various types of filled kouign aman. I ended up trying the lemon curd/blackberry jam combo (and was sad to find the ham & cheese one was sold out). It was fabulous! I honestly couldn't tell the difference between this and any other yeast dough danish-type pastry, but it was still wonderful and fresh. They offered interesting coffee flavors as well. I usually only drink black americanos, and that was okay, but I made my husband try the orange mocha. Yum! I would get that next time. The place has at least 4 - 5 parking spots along the side of the building. They do a nice job with COVID. You order at the door, without going inside. They have the pastries available on full display, so it is safe and easy to order. read more

WORST COFFEE SHOP EVER!!! I came here recently and I would never come here again! I ordered a spiced chai and a muffin and they were not what I was expecting at all. This is the worst spiced chai I have EVER tasted, I took one sip and threw the rest away & the muffin was very bland & not good at all. The workers there were very rude to us and racist, but polite to everyone else around us who was white. Worst coffee shop I have EVER gone to. Everything is also super expensive & it is not even worth it since the drinks aren't good at all. Don't waste your money here! read more

Stopped by here a rainy Saturday morning around 8:30 am and there were about 4 groups in front of me, everyone was appropriately spaced in accordance with COVID. I ordered the hot buttered yam, which did indeed taste like Thanksgiving in a cup! It hit the right balance between sweet and savory without being overpowering and was overwhelmingly comforting. I also tried the sticky bun which was light, filling, sticky, and delicious. It wasn't as warm as it could be, but I can understand the difficulty in these COVID times. Overall, delicious and unique! Waiting up to an hour for a latte doesn't make it taste good. The baguettes are good but can be purchased at Fresh Foods a minute away. Besides, most of the line is comprised of tourists so they aren't likely to care about the poor coffee served here. read more
