This place is amazing. We ate fresh crawfish, lionfish, clam, bluecrab, shrimp, seafood gumbo and loved everything. Highly recommend.

I was very excited to find this spot after Blalocks closed. The owners were super nice to talk with, and found out the husband runs his own fishing boat, which is where his fish comes from. We had Old Bay seasoning and their homemade garlic butter on our steamed order, and everything was delicious. I will be back the next time I'm in Destin!

Originally went to YELP to find a good fresh seafood spot while on vacation in Destin. This place didn't even pop up, but I felt compelled to submit their first post. We were on the hunt for grouper. The owner asked a couple questions and then brought out a big fresh grouper. He was going to cut fresh filets from the fish. He then realized the first one he brought out was not large enough. He went in the back and brought out a larger fish that would work for the amount we needed. He cut the fresh grouper to the amount we needed and then cut in to filet sizes for our crew of 14. Prices were better than most places we shopped and this was the only place that was literally cutting to order. It's worth the drive regardless of where you are coming from in the Destin area!

The absolute best seafood market in Destin, FL. The freshest seafood for a very good price. The owners are supercool and friendly. We let her know that we are out of town and have no way to cook the seafood. She happily steam our vegetables and seafood to perfection! Wife and I highly recommend this market and tell them TapThatBeef sent you! https://www.youtube.com/@TapThatBeef

I walked in and was immediately greeted. The owner then took the time to describe all the offerings they had on display; which I appreciated. They had a wide variety of seafood. Given the crew we were vacationing with, I went with shrimp as a common denominator. They were some of the best I've ever prepared. Very fresh and had a slight saltiness to them naturally. Light years ahead of anything frozen. I highly recommend this husband wife team; they're great!

Highly highly recommend the fried shrimp and hush puppies. Fries are standard frozen crinkle cuts, the tiny portion of slaw is dry and forgettable, and the tartar sauce is mayo that blinked at some pickle relish as they passed in the fridge. The star of course is the shrimp. Big butterflied lightly coated fried pieces of fresh heaven. They charge extra for using CC and they expect a tip. I'm not real partial to tipping if I order at the counter and sit at a dirty picnic table outside. I'm also ok with hitting no tip. Taking my money is part of a cashiers duties, they are not tipped employees in my opinion.

The service was fast, and the prices were very affordable, especially for the quality of the food. The ordering process was simple--you order at the front, find a seat, and they call your name when your food is ready. The restaurant is also right on the bay, which made for a beautiful view while we ate. I ordered the stuffed shrimp, and it was absolutely delicious. It came out piping hot, and the sauces served with it were amazing and added even more flavor. Everyone in my group really enjoyed their meals. Overall, I would definitely come back and highly recommend Dewey Destin's if you're looking for fresh seafood, quick service, beautiful waterfront views, and great prices!

Ok. I've been patronizing Skipper's for as long as it's been in business...even before I had a…read moretaste for shrimp. I even have a t-shirt I wear proudly in my home town. Like many things here in Destin over the last few years, change is abrupt and frustrating. And for this review I don't mean ownership...I've continued patronizing since the original Skipper sold out and still love the shrimp and tuna dip there--and the folks helping behind the counter. I will typically visit 4 to 5 times during a break here to ensure we always have fresh, local, steamed shrimp in the fridge...it doesn't last long. And Skipper's has always had the best. But my first visit this summer really bothered me. After an honestly strange interaction with the young man handling the counter--seemed he couldn't interpret the questions I was asking about sizes, though I was being somewhat comic (I was happy to be getting my first batch of the summer!)--I chose my size and weight and requested it to be steamed with cajun seasoning, my usual. He then told me it would cost $5 to steam. I was floored. Again, how many years I can't even count that I've followed a routine of hitting Skipper's, grabbing a couple pounds and a tuna dip, request the steam, pay, leave the tuna dip on ice, head to Winn Dixie for a couple items, return in 10 mins to pick up the steaming hot shrimp, and head back to the condo to enjoy the best shrimp in the world. Never have I been charged to steam. So I asked the guy behind the counter when they started charging. His reponse? "We always have." I asked how long is "always" to him. He said since he'd been working there. I asked how long that has been. He said "about 8 months." Well, little did he know I had just followed my routine in April and was not charged for steaming. And I followed it several times in November as well with no charge. At the very least get the story and justification straight. It's enough to see the new credit card transaction charges on everything in Destin now (pre-tax, btw). This is just another hit. And I get it...small businesses have it tough, no doubt. And I will always support small businesses...as long as they make me feel good. This young man did not. And one more thing to add here...unfortunately another criticisim. On our next visit a few days later (can't give up the shrimp, and there really is no better...though there's a spot closer to Destin that may compete I've learned), my wife followed my routine while I was golfing. When I arrived back home, she was almost embarrassed to tell me that the steamed shrimp had come with butter and lemon...without notice. And I mean a Southern serving of butter...a pool of it in the tin container. We absolutely prefer our shrimp seasoned only (cajun, not old bay). Period. Adding a ton of butter with no check for preference or confirmation of a practice a new patron or old would never know was default (albeit, in the last few years the folks behind the counter would know me so knew how I liked it, which I also cherish) is just a straight up failure of service to me. I will say we drained the butter and saved it as it was tasty as heck on toasted bread, but not with our traditional shrimp enjoyment. Whenever I meet a new tourist to this area no matter where that may be--the geographic breadth of folks visiting here is amazing the last few years--I ALWAYS recommend Skippers fresh shrimp and tuna dip. I even did so with a family we met in the Austin airport on the way here headed to their first vacation in Miramar Beach and happened to be staying right across from Skipper's on old 98. I even bragged about how Skipper's steams it for you right on the spot. I surely hope they were asked if they wanted butter and lemon.

15/10 -- Truly Outstanding!…read more I cannot say enough wonderful things about Stewby's Steamer, and especially their manager, Sierra. My family had ordered around $200 worth of their absolutely delicious seafood, but unfortunately, my mom and brother were involved in a terrible car accident, and in the midst of everything that happened, all of the food was lost. I called Stewby's the next day and spoke with Sierra to explain what had happened. She was incredibly kind, compassionate, and understanding and immediately took care of us by giving us 20% off when we reordered. She absolutely did not have to do anything for us, which made her kindness mean that much more. It wasn't about the discount, it was about the way Sierra genuinely cared about what our family had just been through and went out of her way to do something kind for us during an incredibly difficult situation. That kind of customer service and compassion is rare, and it will not be forgotten. Sierra is absolutely outstanding, and Stewby's is incredibly lucky to have her running their establishment. Between the AMAZING seafood and having someone like Sierra taking care of their customers, they have earned lifelong customers in our family. Thank you again, Sierra, for showing our family such kindness when you absolutely didn't have to. 15/10 -- we appreciate you more than you know!

The crab comes out very hot and the meat is moist, it hasn't been overcooked any of the times I've eaten there. I personally like to get crab when i go to seafood places like this, I'm not a fan of sausage so I can't say whether it's good, but i do enjoy the corn and potatoes. I will say one time I went here the corn and potatoes were a little undercooked, but it was super busy at that time so I can't fault them as the crab was still perfectly cooked. Nice restaurant to eat in at, they provide crab crackers which is always a plus, and have lots of merch that you can pick up on the way out.
