It was as my husband's birthday and he wanted a key lime pie. I was told to go to Skippers for one. We had a large party so I bought two for $60. I also picked up the tuna dip. The tuna dip was delicious with crackers and veggies. However, my husband didn't like the key lime pie. I always make mine fresh for him, but we're visiting from AZ so unable to this time. Shrimp was great and the key lime pie is a nice variation of a traditional dessert. Biggest issue is the marketing of some of their dishes. The 2lb Ruby Red shrimp boil is presented on the Door Dash menu as if it comes with corn and potatoes. Turns out it doesn't, and when we called about it after our order was delivered we were told "you have to ask for that extra". read more

I do not recommend Skippers Seafood Market. I first visited about three years ago after reading several positive reviews. At the time, I was not very impressed with the selection or prices, but it was convenient, so I decided to give them another chance. I returned last year and was even more disappointed. The selection was limited, the prices seemed high, and I questioned whether the seafood was any fresher than what I could buy at a grocery store. This year was my final visit. The selection was the worst I have seen. They only had large shrimp, a few small shrimp, and two fish options, both in large cuts. When I asked if they could cut the fish down for my small order, they would not. To make matters worse, the prices were about 30% higher than the Winn-Dixie right next door. Based on my experiences over the past three years, I cannot recommend this market. The limited selection, lack of flexibility, and significantly higher prices do not justify shopping here when better values are available nearby. read more

Order in and take it home! They do have outdoor seating. Different types of shrimp. Steam it, corn on the cob and potatoes. All bay seasoning and other types of seasoning available. $17 a pound. I got 3 pounds of shrimp corn and potatoes for $80. It fed three adults easily, we had 25 shrimp left over. every pound is about 30 shrimp. read more

Very nice, but small, seafood market. We had to try back 3 times because they were sold out of fish. Finally, around 2pm the fresh fish arrived. We chose the flounder and it was delicious. I am super impressed with the customer service provided, as a start. I called to ask a few questions before going and the young man was friendly and helpful. Seemed genuinely happy I was calling. We got 4lbs of royal reds, key lime pie and their cocktail sauce. They steamed and seasoned the shrimp to perfection. The key lime was delicious. It is a light custard type and was very good. Seafood is expensive we all know that, so when you shell out money for fresh you have to get good quality & service at the counter. We got that & more here at skippers. My friend & I were just looking for steamed shrimp for lunch but also finding a place to grab scallops & other stuff later in the week. While we were waiting for the shrimp the owner or manager or something asked if we had a grill & we said yea, he then proceeded to GIVE us one of the yellowfin tuna steaks because he was switching it out with some fresh cuts. We took that bad boy home & grilled it for an awesome lunch. We are making a list of what we are getting when we go back tomorrow & we will be buying a tuna steak (at least one). read more

My husband, daughter, and I ate at Skipper for the first time last night. Shrimp, Royal Reds, crab leg steam-pot with house seasoning, corn and potatoes was outstanding! We sat out in the patio that had plenty of picnic table seating and really enjoyed ourselves. Lots of locals showed up and took their orders to go, so you know this place is the real deal. I don't need the lady at the front counter to give me a big hug and love me around the neck to have a good experience. If I'm so insecure that I need the fish lady to make me feel special then go to Red Lobster and don't bother with fresh fish. My wife's family introduced me to Skippers years ago and that started my love for his smoked tuna dip. We buy it by the tubs and usually eat at least one before our trip is 1/2 complete. I have called Skippers and had it shipped in dry ice ....the shipping cost more than 2 tubs! I've even tried duplicating the recipe and then fell back to bribing some friends on vacation to make a 90 mile detour to pick us up a cooler load on their way back to Texas. This week we had mahi-mahi and grouper one night that was the best I've ever eaten. Skippers may not have the friendliest staff or a waiting area that feels like a fish cold storage plant.
