    Yummy Fries

The fried fish and fried shrimp are incredible. Loved the fries. Fast service, and right next to the Falls. Will be back for sure! We did not experience the long wait that others mentioned. We were there on a September Sunday, at about 2 pm. My advice? Go when there's a home game! The Vikings were busy handing the Bengals a big loss, so the park in general wasn't too crowded for such a gorgeous afternoon. We literally had zero wait in line, and the food was out to us in about 7 minutes. My only price complaint is for the fries. I understand its a huge upsell, and the appetizer platter of them is HUGE, but $10 for plain fries is a bit much. Mostly, because I couldn't see another way to order them. But they were scrumptious. They could easily feed 4 people who ordered fish sandwiches, etc. as well. Wonderful experience.

One of my favorite places to eat every summer for seafood. I almost missed it this year but got in on the last day. This place is at Minnehaha Falls so the area can get busy. Since this was the last day open this summer, it was extremely busy! Got there a couple hours before close and they ran out of some stuff i really wanted. Still lots of good items to eat though. They have one of my favorite catfish sandwiches and thats the mean reason I go. I usually mix it up by grabbing a few other things that I may not have had before. I've never had anything I dont like. Will say it can get spendy, but for a fun summer day, eating seafood on a patio and a waterfall right there, cant do any better.

On a recent visit to St. Paul, Minnesota, we enjoyed a beautiful afternoon at Minnehaha Park and the waterfall. Right next to the falls is a cute, open-air restaurant called Se Salt (no a). The day we went the lines were short, though I heard they can get quite long. You order at the counter from an extensive list of chilled, fried, and smoked seafood. We ordered fried clam strips, calamari, fried shrimp, a soft-shell crab sandwich, fish tacos, and oysters. When the food was delivered to our table, everything was perfectly served. The hot food was hot, and the cold was chilled. Everything tasted fresh and delicious, and we all sampled a bit of everything. They also have a good selection of beverages to accommodate all tastes. I wish they were closer because we would be regulars. Until then, we will look forward to our next visit.

Obsessed with the fried fish here! The batter was perfectly crispy, golden, and light with no heavy oiliness. Probably the best fried fish I've had to date! We also tried the walnut burger and Cajun ahi po'boy. Both were tasty and the ahi wasn't fishy at all but I don't think I'll order them next time. The standout was definitely the fried fish and I'd definitely come back to order this again! The line got pretty long during Friday lunch and moved slowly so there was a bit of a wait. But, we received our food pretty fast! There was also an impressive variety of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages too. Plenty of indoor and dog-friendly outdoor seating. Very laid-back ambiance. It was the perfect spot to recharge and relax after exploring Minnehaha Park

A perfect spot to enjoy the outdoors, a beautiful day and delicious seafood. You can even bring your dog! Consistently delicious seafood served promptly and adult beverages are available too!

It's fun to have a spot like this in the middle of a beautiful park. It's made for lots of people, and it is always busy, but do plan to wait in line to order and then to receive your food. The calamari was pretty good but it's a huge portion, so keep that in mind! The po boys are also huge and filling. The tacos are good but the ones with the salsa do have a kick to them.

Ah, Sea Salt. So consistent and filling!!! The family went there today on a Monday at 4 pm. The temp was through the roof with a heat advisory in the upper 90's. Hot for sure! The good news was there was plenty of parking, and no line. We ordered red beans and rice, calamari, and our old standby, the crawfish poboy. The wife who isn't a seafood fan went to the sandwich line. We also got a beer, water (free on the main cafe side), and a lemonade for the kiddo. As you can see from the picture, they do not skimp on portion sizes. We had plenty of left overs to take home. Yummo. Despite the heat. Great value and portion size of you are craving some quality seafood. Don't forget the hot sauce bottles and the Sebastian Joe's ice cream!

If you like seafood and sitting outdoors, this is the place for you! No AC, so be prepared! They have wine and beer that pairs up nicely with your food. You order at the counter and they give you a number so they can deliver your food table-side! There's an ice cream shop outside. Overall a good place to eat with friends and family especially if you're going to see the Minehaha Falls.

Seafood with a view and your pup! Such a cool spot--right next to Minnehaha Falls, so you get to enjoy the sound of the water while you eat. The calamari was crispy and delicious, and the crab cake was solid too. Bonus points for being an amazing place to bring pets--my pup loved it! Only wish the tables were a bit cleaner, but overall the food and atmosphere made it totally worth it. Will definitely be back!

Good value, well-seasoned, and well-prepared seafood options. And Sea Salt Eatery is right at the corner of the park so you can eat outside on nice days and dog watch. Service is friendly and relaxed. The food takes a little while to come out but what's the rush? When the food comes out, it is fresh and piping hot. The fish tacos were a lot bigger than I expected which was a pleasant surprise. The fish was flavorful and lightly fried so it wasn't greasy at all. I liked adding the hot sauce that Sea Salt had on standby which elevated the fish tacos. My partner also really liked the Ahi Tuna burger which was juicy and super tasty. The calamari was a nice appetizer and a great portion, pretty standard tasting. For the price, Sea Salt is worth every penny. No need to pay a fortune just for good tasting seafood. I also appreciate that Sea Salt doesn't hike their prices just because they're in a good location. If you're already in the park, Sea Salt is a great convenient option.

Visited 7/20/25. Sea Salt consistently hits the spot. Be prepared to wait, as lines get really long in the summer, but they're a worthy summer staple. The fish tacos are phenomenal and fresh tasting, especially for us being in MN. Being next to Minnehaha falls makes the experience even more fun. Do yourself a favor and put this on your Summer 2026 bucket list.

Fresh oysters in half shell and cold red wine. This is heaven

My happy place! When this place opens, it means spring has sprung. I love water, sun, outdoor eating that's away from car emissions, fresh oysters, and cold red wine. How'd they know?! It's actually my fave place to have fresh oysters. They're the best here! The calamari, crab cakes, and fish are great. They do seafood pretty well considering it's a bistro style spot. The po' boy sandwiches and other food is good too. They have great ice cream and I'm not even into ice cream like that. The tap beer is good. They usually have a beer truck set up just outside. They do have limited indoor seating and a neighboring covered dining room. This area is always busy of course. Minnehaha Falls are a major attraction. I love being able to get light exercise on the fly walking, climbing stairs, or riding surreys. Great family outing. There's a playground for the littles.

I've visited Minnehaha falls so many times and had never tried this restaurant before. And dang have I been missing out! Everything we tried was 10/10 and very reasonably priced for seafood. It did take us like 45 minutes to get our food but it was a beautiful day out so we didn't mind waiting. All the seating is outside so definitely dress for the weather but it feels like you're eating in a park pretty much, cuz you are!

When does Sea Salt close for the season?

What I hear is that it's open from April till late October.

What fish is the fried fish? Thank you.

According to their menu on their website, the "fried fish" is Haddock.

    Is there wifi?

No I don't believe so for the restaurant but maybe for Minneapolis parks. Never tried connecting however.

Unfortunately, this was one of the most underwhelming meals of the year. the ambience is pretty much nonexistent, despite the excellent mexican wrestling mask branding. And then the ordering system sucks. Kiosk ordering. Not much there but tacos and burritos and churros. No chips and guac on the menu but like, you know they have chips and guac. Whatever. I added guac to my Asada burrito for $2.75. $20 out the door for a burrito. Ok well this better be good for $20. Opted for a paper receipt and it spit out a blank one. The burrito arrived to my table tightly wrapped, cleanly cut with a side of sauce that looked vaguely like Russian dressing, but not really like anything I have received from any Mexican place in my life. Portion size was decent, not huge. First thing I noticed was the end of the world stockpile of brown rice. Brown? hmm. Not a fan. Every other ingredient was an afterthought and hard to discern in any one bite. I paid for a burrito, not a rice-rito! I can buy a sack of rice at the store for $10 and eliminate the middle man! And though I chose the "hot" option, the spice level was minimal. "Minnesota hot". the thing was really flavorless. I went back to counter to ask for side of hot sauce which they were generous with, but turned out to be the same weird colored crap on my tray. Hmm ok let's try the hot sauce. Folks, it was "not sauce." Strong taste of soy (?!) and god knows what else but certainly not chili peppers. Disappointing, expensive, bland, inauthentic all that. The most flavor came from a few lime wedges. Came home hungry and sads. I guess I forgot to be a drunk college student at 2 am.

Nah. Pizza? Two maybes - plus the asker. Mexican? Again, two maybes. We start scouring possibilities. And come across a pizzaria + taqueria. Ratings at a very respectable 4.5. Curiosities at full peak. Plus it's close. We've got a winner. No guests inside when we arrive. Parking right out front. Before we even decide on an order, however, people start coming in. Several tables fill up within 10 minutes. Amusingly, the first next group grabbed the one curved booth with my full drink bottle still sitting on the table in the middle of them. They migrated to the semi-booth across the dining area. Clearly, the two most desired seating areas in the house. We ordered birria pizza and horchata - we have a tradition of testing the horchata at every next Mexican restaurant we try. This one was mid - not horrible, not great. Just was. We'd ordered a birria pizza recently, elsewhere. It came out as... a birria taco in pizza layout. Tortilla circle, birria middle, tortilla top. Meh. To be fair, that birria pizza was the only pizza item on that menu, so it made sense that their pizza just wasn't pizza-ing. We were hopeful for a very different experience this time. Especially given the very clear emphasis on pizza on this menu. Then the pizza came. Not only did it look glorious, a bowl of birria dip sat in the middle of the pizza, completing the birria experience. And it was absolutely fantastic. The birria, the ratio, the crust - everything was delicious. Except, as my friend pointed out, the horchata. It can't all be perfect, unfortunately. The pizza was so good that when we wrapped up the leftovers, a strip of end crust went in with the rest of the pie. Speaking of, I'm definitely ready to reheat all of that now - update: Awesome reheated. :) Next visit: Chorizo pineapple jalepeño pizza!

Marsu Pizzeria: The Battle for the Last Slice…read more I walked into Marsu Pizzeria already knowing two things: 1) I was about to have the best pizza of my life. 2) I was going to order way too much food and have no regrets. The place smelled like heaven--garlic, melted cheese, fresh dough. I took a seat, ready to devour a feast. A cheerful employee--let's call him Tony (because let's be real, every good pizzeria has a Tony)--walks up with a confident smile. Tony: "You ready for the best pizza of your life?" Me: "Tony, I've been training for this moment my whole life." I ordered the house special pizza (because if a pizza place has a signature pizza, you ORDER IT), plus some garlic knots, because I respect myself. The food came out fast, hot, fresh, and smelling like a dream. As I'm one slice away from food coma territory, I see it. The last slice. The holy grail. The perfect combination of cheese, sauce, and crispy crust, staring at me like it knows it's about to be devoured. Just as I'm reaching for it, Tony slides by the table, nodding at my plate. Tony: "You gonna finish that?" Me: "...I was planning on it, Tony." Tony: "You sure? I mean, we could put it up for auction. Bidding starts at one garlic knot." Me: "Not happening." Tony: "Alright, but just know... if you don't eat it in the next 30 seconds, I legally get to claim it." Now, I don't know what kind of pizzeria law Tony is operating under, but I wasn't about to test it. I stared him dead in the eyes as I picked up the last slice and took the biggest bite possible. Tony (nodding approvingly): "Good choice. That's the kind of hunger we respect around here." Long story short, Marsu Pizzeria has the best pizza, the best vibes, and employees who will absolutely test your commitment to finishing your food. Final score? 10/10 pizza. 10/10 service. 10/10 threats on my last slice.
