With the help of our expert instructor and pro diver, that changed within minutes. He guided them with patience and confidence, and they ended up enjoying every moment. They are already asking when we can go back out into the ocean. We saw a wide range of sea life, including colorful fish, beautiful corals, and a few turtles. We also learned about the history of Hawaii, fun facts about the area, and how to identify different species while we snorkeled. The underwater scavenger hunt was a creative touch that kept the kids excited throughout the tour. Our instructor was professional, knowledgeable, and even captured photos and videos of us underwater, which was a great bonus. Water and healthy snacks were provided after the tour, which we appreciated. If you have small children or if it is your first time snorkeling, I highly recommend this company. Captain Michael and crew who led our "Discover Lanai" day were awesome! Super attentive, the food…read morewas abundant, the boat was very clean, and I felt safe out snorkeling even with a pretty big swell shift from the Hurricane. The details: Our tour started by meeting at tree at the Sheraton, which sounds awkward but for us was super convenient and it was fun boarding the sailboat from the beach but you will get a little wet! Captain Michael walks you though the day and then you are off for about ~90 minutes to Lanai. During that time you are served (not a buffet) two meals. The cinnamon rolls were great and the breakfast croissants are now something I make at home. There was also a photographer on board so we took advantage and took some family photos (you buy at the end and I found them a whole lot cheaper and less stress than an actual family shoot). Once you get to the Island you can take a golf cart or take a short walk to the beach where they have all the gear you need. After the safety briefing you have about 2 hours to snorkel with the crew serving as lifeguards in the water. It is VERY easy to lose where you are when you've got your head underwater. I appreciated how attentive the crew was to where the four of us were at since there were a few times we needed some gentle guidance out of a harms way (shoreline rocks). The photographer also captures your snorkel sesh. After snorkeling, you're treated to another full meal of noodles and chicken. Followed by anything you might need for a little seasickness to prep for the journey back . My 12 yo son was pretty full at this point and had befriended the captain who let him help get the boat ready for the return trip. That was very cool! The ride home was a bit bumpy (Hurricane Lowell was coming) but Captain Michael did a great job avoiding anything major and even found a pod of dolphins. We also enjoyed the mai tais! Great experience! We will book more tours in the future. I would have booked another snorkeling or sunset tour during this trip but the water quality really deteriorated with the upcoming storm.

This is the only snorkeling business I would recommend in Maui. Not because the others are bad but…read morebecause Seafire is so exceptional. Several reasons: 1. Their location at Kihei Boat Ramp in South Maui means that you have an extra hour in the water so you can make one more stop compared to the other snorkeling charters who leave from further away and you spend most of the time going and coming vs in the water. 2. Their guides are so good, respectful, fun and full of knowledge about the underwater things you'll be seeing. 3. Their raft holds 12 people (I think) so it's much more intimate. This was worth every penny. You'll never forget when you first drop into the warm Maui waters and the incredible underwater sights you'll see. Make sure to book well in advance.

We even called last night and were assured the captain wouldn't take us out IF the seas were too rough. Guess what. July 28th, 2026 the seas were too rough for this to be enjoyable!!! Multiple people puked. We wanted to switch days to Saturday, but were told we couldn't because it was within the 24 hour cancelation window, but we were given the assurance the captain wouldn't take us out if it was poor conditions. He did. He did!! We all knew it was too rough. We have eyes and read the report. We sailed to Molikini and we could not go in. As we knew!! Then he took us to turtle town. I feel like it was a money grab when the seas are rough and there are hurricane warnings...it should be an allowable reason to postpone to an alternate date. You could keep our money and let us go Saturday. Geez..What an utter shame. Murkey waters. No visibility. I'll book with another boat if we ever do it again. One that values the experience and safety. Pray my husband's sea sickness goes away soon. EDIT: Here's something important to note. If the water conditions aren't safe or if the weather makes the water murkey the experienced captain will cancel. I know that is stressful, but he wants us safe and to have the experience of a lifetime. THAT IS WHAT WE WERE TOLD, BUT IS NOT THE CASE.
