We weren't too good at finding our way but eventually did. Once we met the therapists, we shared we.wanted hot stone. Apparently it was too late for us to order what we wanted. They told us it would take 20 minutes to heat them up and we would not get it. They apologized. Forty minutes later our 60 minute massage was over. When we made our way to the front, unescorted again, we told the woman about our massage being cut 20 minutes short and that we could not get hot stones. She asked why, what happened. Once we told her she apologized for both and charged us the full price. They have the ability to be a great spa but it starts with great customer service and getting what you want and what you pay for. I hated not leaving a tip but I hate being ripped off and not receiving exceptional customer service more. read more

I got married on Martha's Vineyard as a destination wedding in September 2012 coming from the Philadelphia area. I found the Sea Spa Salon by just walking by the Colonial Inn Shops while I was on the island visiting all of our vendors a few months before the wedding. The receptionist was very helpful, she even got Salissa on the phone and put me right on with her. I sent her my hair/makeup requests for the wedding day and the amount of people in the bridal party (I had to email it because of my being long distance). I met Salissa and the make up artist, Jen, the day of my trial run. The salon and makeup room is very intimate and the employees are very friendly. I showed Salissa what I wanted for my hair and she did it even better than I imagined. I was very happy with how the make up turned out, too - I looked like a doll! The day of my wedding I went in with my veil ready to get all dolled up. My sister and my mom also got their hair done by the ladies at Sea Spa Salon and they did a great job. My mom did not know what she wanted walking in but they did a great job creating an up-do for her. It was so nice to be in such an intimate room with all the up-dos being done so close to each other - it kept my wedding nerves down having my mom and sister being all put together right there with me instead of all of us in separate rooms. My photographer was even welcomed into the salon with us to photograph the entire "getting ready" part of my day. Overall I had a fantastic experience with the ladies at Sea Spa Salon, especially being a destination bride meeting my make up artist and hair stylist the day before my wedding! One thing I really liked was when she did my scalp....she placed a linen in my hair first before massaging.....no oil in my hair! (Always a bit of a pet peeve of mine). Why not 5 stars? Points off for unclear signs as to where to go to check in. There was/is no dedicated reception so I had to wander around until I just walked into a door and boldly interrupted a pedicure. Also the room was very small and the masseuse had to keep her bottle of oil on the table between my legs to keep it available. They ruined my wedding day :( I have waited a bit before posting this review but I try to be fair to small businesses however when I think about my wedding day is still get a bit upset. I had a schedule appointment in the salon to do my make up. I booked the appointment months advance and I pre-paid. So the day of my wedding I went to the salon and the make up artist that was supposed to work on me was not there. They left me in to the salon chair to wait. (I am personally used to high-end salons where they offer you a glass of water if they have you waiting) I figure hey I have some time stuff happens so they're running 10 minutes behind schedule no worries. I sat in the salon chair for 30 minutes then went back up to the front desk and just asked what the status was. the person working in the front desk explain to me that they're sorry that they're running late and the make up artist is working on someone for the wedding and weddings are a big deal. I said yup I understand today's actually my wedding day and I have 300 guest waiting for me. Finally the makeup artist showed up after the end of my actual schedule appointment. So at this point I waited for over an hour and a half. Now off to my actual wedding I had to rush to The hotel to get dressed and then off to my wedding meanwhile I'm getting lots of calls because the person who is supposed to be marrying us has to get to another wedding. My poor husband was standing at the altar just waiting for me. The poor officiant literally had to run out the wedding as soon as we said I do you can see her running off in all of our wedding videos. Additionally we paid for Hours of photography for before the wedding that we did not get to take because of this whole hiccup. Only reason why I'm even explaining the cost of everything else is because after the fact and after we got married I try to let it go. Then I started getting a bunch of fraud notifications on my card because the salon I guess was trying to run some type of charge I'm not sure exactly what it was for. So I called the salon to figure out what the heck was going on just because I was under the impression that it was fully pre-paid. I was told that the owner will get back to me The next day of course the owner of the salon did not get back to me the next day I finally had to reach out to her via Facebook and then she finally called me back. Now here's when it all gets ridiculous she went ahead and refunded me OK thanks I guess that's nice but then try to yell at me about how I was just trying to get my wedding make up for free. Umm excuse me You refunded my card without talking to me first so how was I trying to get my wedding make up for free when I never asked for a refund. I did expect as a business woman that you would've at least followed up with me as soon as you found out that the make up artist never showed up for my scheduled appointment time. Or that you would've followed up when I called the salon just to figure out what was going on with the charges on my card. But at no time did I ask for a refund so for you to insult me by saying that I was just trying to get my wedding make up for free is disgusting especially when I am out thousands of dollars for the wedding photography. But honestly it's not about the money it's about the fact that I lost out on memories I could've had more time with relatives instead of sitting in the salon chair by myself crying on my wedding day. But hey at least I'm still happily married and life is overall well But I want to give this warning to every other little girl who's always dreamed of the perfect wedding day. read more

One of the worst and most expensive manicures in my life. The manicurist was unskilled and unfriendly. She cut my cuticles by cutting my skin to where they were bleeding and sting every Time I wash my hands. I had asked for an oval shape which is what I had when I arrived and when I left they were all square which is exactly what I did not want. I would not return to see Spa again. Very, very disappointed. If I could give a zero star, I would. My friend and I went there for an all day girls day. We booked multiple services each. The entire staff was confused and very disorganized and unaware of what services we (had long since) booked. Between each service there was ongoing confusion as to which was next. Lots of waiting and wasted time. The singular service that was performed competently was the message; it was nice. The remaining services were sadly, terrible. I also had a full body scrub (total waste), facial, and wash/blow out at the hair salon. The lady that performed the body scrub and facial was incompetent. She tried to omit facial services until I asked/insisted, her "massage" of my face felt like a rabbit's back legs beating into my cheeks, she blocked my nose multiple times causing my inability to breathe (how many times did I have to tell her to not block my nose so I could breath?!), she left (left!) the room for 15 minutes in the middle of my service; when asked what she was doing she told me "I was getting my stuff together." She also tried to end the session 20 minutes early (ie 1/4 of my paid service time); I obviously said no and asked she continue with the remainder of what I paid for. The day's services ended at the hair salon. I explained my desired style, instead what I got was the "it looks like she plays with electricity" hairstyle. Awful. I'm now back at my hotel trying to undo my hornet's nest of a mess hair. I was so looking forward to this incredibly expensive all day girls day at the spa; it was beyond terrible and disappointing. Please do not go here. Booked body service Krissy on 7/17/23. She in a few areas applied the mud. Cost was $220. She offered to do massage to "fill the time." She asked me if I had any problem areas. I asked her to avoid my left knee. She then proceeded to start doing rotation of joints, popped my right shoulder, and said "not doing anything crazy" going to see about your hip and then proceeded to level my left knee back and forth. She wants to be a chiropractor in Florida and apparently has taken to some amateur practice without consent. When I arrived I was not asked to sign any paperwork, nor fill out any preferences, cautions, concerns or medical issues. On 7/19/23 I called and could only speak with summer help receptionist reporting that I believe I had been injured in Krissy service pleading with her make sure they stop Krissy from doing that anyone else. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because I really enjoy the girls who have done my acrylic nails, they're funny and have made my experience better. All in all though, the material this salon uses for their acrylics is absolute trash. I've been here about five times now (yikes) only because I'm not from around here and haven't found another place to go. Literally each time I get my nails done the acrylics start to fall apart one by one by like day three. Anybody who gets acrylics knows that they should last for around 1.5-2 weeks before you need to get them filled. Mind you these nails cost $75.00!!! And $5.00 for a repair. You shouldn't have to pay that especially if you just got them done! Not worth it what so ever. I've given multiple chances for the Sea Spa to redeem itself to me and I'm sad to say I can't afford this cheap yet so expensive nail care anymore. Also about my most recent experience, got my acrylics done hoping this would be the time that they'd stay on and I'd have no issues. I like my nails filed down and more flat than thick, simple-ish request. I was happy with the way they looked so as usual I payed the $75 no questions asked, $20 tip cause I like the girls. No surprise three days later they start to fall off, EXCEPT this time the whole nail doesn't fall off, it's only half of the acrylic stuck and left on my fingers. Each time a nail would fall off, only half of it would. So right now I'm left with all these half ripped off ugly looking nails on all 10 of my fingers and I have no way to get them off besides forcefully trying to rip them off piece by piece with my teeth. Also I do bite my nails, that's why my nails look so short, and why I get my acrylics anyways. It's no excuse still for these nails to fall off. All other places I've gotten my nails from last for the typical 2 weeks. read more

If you're looking for a salon that listens to what you want and delivers - this is NOT your place. I came in for a wedding makeup trial.  I specifically asked for something slightly more than what I normally wear (which is very little).  Throughout the process, I reiterated that it shouldn't be too heavy. The end result was me looking like a Bratz doll*.  After allowing her to try again, it was better - but then again, a blind person with a push broom can apply mascara more subtly.   Perhaps the worst part was after I told the proprietor that I wasn't happy with the makeup, that I was anxiety ridden from the experience - they said basically, "I'm sorry you're not happy - please pay us the full $125 you owe us."  Now, I understand that my appointment took up their time and supplies, and they should be compensated for that - but there was a true lack of customer service and consideration.  It was as if they knew I wouldn't use them for the wedding so they might as well charge me as much as they can now.   My suggestion: if you are looking for someone to do your makeup for the wedding - don't waste your money here. * ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/rainbowdoll489/7800557942/ ) read more

I recently came here as part of a bridal party, and even though everyone was super accommodating and friendly, my manicure could have been much much much better. It seemed like the lady who was doing my nails had zero clue what she was doing. I told her I wanted them to be slightly rounded but square. She shaped my first hand well so I stopped paying as close attention, and then she botched my second hand. They were pointy and shorter than my other hand so by the time had made them square, my nails were two different lengths. AND she never went back to adjust the first hand. At that point, I didn't even care. Again, while painting, she looked like a 5 year old. Unfortunately, the majority of my group also felt very unhappy with the quality of the manicure. I've gotten many shellac manicures but none as meticulous or beautiful as the one I got here. I saw Janelle (sp?) and she was fun to talk to and was super observant- she paid close attention to all steps instead of just trying to get it done and get me out of there. I was pleasantly surprised by the price as well! They have the best selection of gel colors on island, probably about 100 polishes in comparison to the usual 20. They also have lots of brands like Coola and Devacurl that are difficult to find. All around awesome visit. read more

This spa is housed in the Vineyard Square Hotel & Suites (formerly the Colonial) right in the middle of Edgartown. The wife and I received wonderful deep tissue massages here and our masseurs were both friendly and professional. The massage was a great way to end a long-day of bike riding! The massage rooms were very standard, but due to the layout of the hotel the entire space is small, so there didn't seem to be much of an extensive waiting room or guest showers, etc. For a hotel-based spa/salon, it was wonderful and priced within reason. I cannot believe this place charges 'spa' prices for a very mediocre pedicure. When I came in I mentioned that I loved a good, firm foot massage and asked if the technician could provide that. They said yes of course. However, the person who was slated to do my pedicure was still working on another customer so someone else was called to 'start' my pedicure. She did the whole thing- no one mentioned to her my preference for a strong massage and she was sooooo lah di dah during the pedicure it was almost comical. The massage sucked, the polish was uneven and it was the most costly pedicure I had ever had. The whole while they technicians were ordering their lunches and gabbing about other customers who had dared to complain about this and that. I got a gel manicure and "dazzle dry" pedicure. The overall operation is just bizarrely run and seems like they rest on their location to serve desperate visitors like me, without oversight or standards of service. They also did not take Covid precautions seriously at all. Throw pillows everywhere isn't the norm these days so I noticed. The good was that I booked online for an 8am appt next day. I arrived to find signs and arrows to "check in" at a different door. I then found a "door two" and "door four", also locked up and lights off, before finding another person that was totally lost too. We both noticed that yelp and google said this spa doesn't open until 9 despite booking 8am appts. Fortunately my provider showed up and corralled us to follow her. Pedicure was fine. Gel Manicure was painful and 2 of my nails somehow fell off by noon. They used so much alcohol and remover without any water or rinse step. The cuticle remover legit burned even before i was nipped and bleeding. She then placed an alcohol soaked cotton on my open cuticle and went over and over with remover to remove blood. Ouch. The technique was unique - for both services she painted the nail in big swipes, then aggressively carved around each edge with an orange stick. 3 nails got messed up during and she had to "fix" by painting layers over. My sense is that the provider and others interacting with her were all pretty unsavory about the whole operation more so than she was a poor provider. It took us several minutes to find the correct door to go into to check in. We made a appointment for a hot stone pedicure. We got 2 gals talking about their social life and a room temperature stone rubbed on our legs. Now I've never had a hot stone pedicure before but I don't think that's what it was On top of it the cost was $70. We had reservations for massages the next day and facials we canceled after seeing the unprofessional state of the salon. I would not call it a spa. You might want to check to out before you go. On a rainy day on the Vineyard we decided to get pedicures. They were able to handle our party of 6 throughout the afternoon and they did good work. They have 3 pedi chairs. Very positive staff and the salon smelled nice, not like nail polish at all. If I could rate this place a fraction of 1 star, I would. Salissa is a terrible business woman with inexcusable customer service. I recently got married and had two Seaspa girls come to my parents house to do my wedding nails - total services included 3 manis, 2 pedis, and 1 buff& shine. The girls were 30mins late to arrive and the quality was disgraceful - I could have done a better job on my own nails! A month later, we were hit with an invoice for $840!! If you look at their services menu - the cost of the services received is $295 (and I'm being generous as those prices are based on SPA mani/pedi, which we did not receive). I understand needing to pay a premium to come to my parents home (which is literally a 5min drive from their spa) however the pricing was NOT disclosed up front and they run at $150/hour PER GIRL. After going back & forth, Salissa claimed that she emailed a quote to my wedding planner that was approved - I asked THREE times for her to forward the approved quote and she never sent it to me. I will never, in my most desperate times, be going to Seaspa for anything ever again. I HIGHLY recommend you look elsewhere before going here - not only because they do a terrible job, but also because they are an unethical business. If you do choose to, good luck with Salissa - she doesn't care at all about repeat customers, she is more interested in one&done inflated fees. read more

We had two Sea Spa girls come to our home for my daughter's wedding - they arrived over 30min late and were completely dragging out the time they were at our home. At the end of their time, they did 3 manicures, 2 pedicures and 1 buff&shine. I got the invoice a month later for $840!! Now I know why they were taking their time - they completely take advantage and are not upfront with hourly rates for at-home services. They claimed they provided us a quote that was approved, however when we asked for them to forward the quote the referenced, they couldn't provide anything. The quality was horrible and my daughter, the bride, was incredibly disappointed - it didn't seem like the girls were even trained on how to do nails. My 12-year old niece could do a better job. Awful make-up- looked like I was wearing a foundation mask. Bad nails- it took almost 2 1/2 hours for a regular mani pedi and the tech complained about the colors I chose saying they were hard to use. Okay Hair- I got a blow out and it didn't last very long. I admittedly called last minute on two occasions asking if there was any availability for either same day or the day after. Dorothy, who I'm assuming manages and or just works the front desk was beyond short and rude on the phone, acting appalled that I'd assume there were any open appts with such short notice, "especially in august". Our massages were wonderful- best ever. So relaxing - Nanci even forgot where she was at one point! They were so accommodating regarding the switch up with oils (Nanci has a nut allergy). Sally was the absolute best - she really knew what she was doing. Denise was also incredible. We would go back in a second for a couples massage from them. Just perfect!! I really feel they were the most professional yet warm persons you could get a massage from. I just had a hair and makeup trial for my wedding with Virginia and Salissa. I told Virginia I wanted a very natural look for the makeup, and it was perfect. Salissa also gave me a lovely natural updo that I loved, which she adjusted when the mother of the bride thought it was a bit too casual. Do NOT go there! I went in for a hair cut - even had a picture. She cut my hair about three inches shorter than the picture. It is now less than an inch long. The cut was so bad that my mom had to take scissors to it to try to rectify the damage. While I was getting the hack job, my friend was getting a pedicure. The nail polish was old and streaky. They did hair and makeup for my wedding. My hair and makeup were fine and definitely couldn't ruin my wedding day, but I would've gone somewhere else if I could do it again. First, my trial was a huge waste of time and money. I paid hundreds of dollars for less attention than I would've received if I'd been getting a blowdry during a haircut - there was a lot of "oh, on the wedding day I'd do this for real, but this is just to give you a sense." We had a whole conversation about how she loves poufs but knew I wouldn't want one because of my thick hair, and I confirmed that I did not want a pouf. She did the style I wanted, we took pictures, and then I left. On my wedding day, she was 20 minutes late without any communication. I should've shown her the pictures to remind her what we were doing, but I didn't realize it was necessary because my trial had been only weeks before and she had her own pictures. It wasn't until she'd fully finished with my hair and let me look that I realized the style was all different (including a pouf - what happened to our conversation?). It looked fine and definitely wasn't worth losing an hour on my wedding day to have her correct (especially when she'd talked the whole time about how she had another wedding right after), but I'm so annoyed that I went for a trial if it had absolutely no purpose except to take my money. She left in a rush without even doing makeup on my lips. My photographer had to correct some of my makeup because it was going to look bad on camera and my friends helped with some fixes, so it was fine in the end. I just don't think I looked my best and I would've been happier with someone else. I tried to call and give feedback there, but I'm on Yelp because they never called me back. read more

The girl took me back to do my brows, was on her phone, did not talk to me when i tried to make small talk and tell her how i like my brows to look. Whole thing was under 5 minutes. When i left my family looked at them and said wow you paid for that? Agressive and rude and a child would have done better. Got a glycolic keratin treatment. My ends are completely fried days after, which the woman said would go away after my first wash, honestly it looks worse. I presume it was from her ripping a hair brush through my hair countless amounts of times. Plus she told me I could wash my hair right away if I wanted, which is the complete opposite from what I've read/heard about. Completely disappointed with the service, and the outcome. read more
