I have flown 20+ airlines ranging from international carriers to small local regional puddle jumpers. Seaborne is hands down the worst airline I have ever flown. I was supposed to fly Dominica to San Juan. Flight was delayed delayed delayed. Power down. Angry representative demanded our passports and started loading our luggage when suddenly the flight was cancelled due to 'weather'. As someone who flies regularly I saw flights were actively arriving and departing in both Dominica and San Juan and surrounding islands. No idea why seaborne cancelled. Secondly the agent started yelling OVER the announcement (???) that seaborne will not be providing any taxi, accommodation etc and then ripped tiny pieces of paper with seabornes corporate number, grabbed her purse and ran out the airport never to be seen again. Well calling Seaborne was another disaster. I guess they use headsets since they seem to be scratching their ass and head the same time. Eventually after explaining over and over what happened they told me they could get me a flight in three days and no help with a place or anywhere to stay. No thanks. I got a flight out of Dominica that same day and was home in the US the day after (a day and half before seaborne wanted to get me home). Save your sanity - fly a major carrier with more flights or LIAT even. If you must fly them allocate an extra day or two for potential error. Lesson learned. read more

Note: this is the same review I wrote for Seaborne on their Yelp page for St. Croix, which at time of writing had about 20 reviews (http://www.yelp.com/biz/seaborne-airlines-christiansted?hrid=KYmQDfGEr7zMeSbdDVslJw) If you're ever thought of flying on Seaborne Airlines (a regional airline in the Caribbean), consider the following, which was the case for me on January 2016 when I had a connecting from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, to San Juan, Puerto Rico: 1) They cancelled my flight, leaving my stranded in Santo Domingo for 24 hours, and that providing accommodations took 3 hours 2) They put me up in a hotel that had a live cockroach in the bathroom (the Be Live Hamaca Resort in Boca Chica, in case you're wondering) 3) The next day, I was mysteriously absent from their reservation system, even though agents had verbally confirmed I'd be on the next flight (the same happened to nine other passengers on the flight). After much maneuvering, they finally were able to add me to the flight 4) Due to weight constraints, none of our bags were onboard, meaning I arrived in San Juan without my checked baggage (note: when flying, ALWAYS make sure you keep your most important valuables including medications with you or in your carry on, NOT in your checked baggage!) 5) It took them 4 days to delivery my bag. Customer service has been unresponsive, to say the least (there have been times where I call their lost baggage hotline, only to hear a busy dial tone) 6) An airline agent promised me he'd send a written confirmation detailing the nature of my bag delay so I'd have a record, but failed to abide to his promise I guess it's time to file a formal complaint. read more

AWFUL. it just kept getting worse and worse. they delayed our flight for multiple hours and when the plane finally arrived in san juan, we were told to stand in the corner like cattle and had to take a bus to the plane. workers are very impersonal and non efficient. And did i mention the fact that we got bused 30 minutes to our plane in a cramped bus meant for 10 people, but was filled with almost 45 people. Ridiculous. If you want to be treated like the luggage in the plane I would recommend this airline. read more

During a crucial time such as two Category 5 hurricanes it would be advisable that they transport their passengers on time to PR. These customers need to be on time otherwise the possibility of being stuck in PR weeks is real. The airline is debile and I would discourage anyone patronizing it. Where do I start I'm disappointed. I'm not one to anger quickly or be rude or demanding. However, I do expect the same in return. Checking in went well. We arrived at 9 with plenty of time to catch our flight. However, there was a delay the reason unknown. They offered meal vouchers..... Getting them was the hard part. I asked for a manager at 10 I was told she was on her way. I then went back at 11:30 to be told she was on her way. Again at 12 to be told she was on her way. At 12:45 I went up to the desk and asked what was really going on... Then all of a sudden my vouchers were approved and I was told they would bring them to me once they got them. Praise God it only took 10 min this time. I feel so bad for the desk clerks they have no manager support and are having to use their own cell phone to call. Forget calling the airlines as you can't speak to a manager and they won't provide any names. Seriously who hires these people. You know that it all starts at the top and your only as good as you leader. The poor desk clerks were kind, but limited to what they could do to remedy the situation. You could feel and hear their frustration as the customers yelled and set demands. I'm not sure how they can wake up to do what they do each day as there were multiple flight canceled and several delayed. Here nobody is treated fair. I noticed that those that complained the most and were the rudest got what they wanted. Some transferred to earlier flights on another airline. I'm not that person a meal was fair even though this cut out a huge chunk of our two day trip to St. Thomas. If this is to be any help book an extra day and expect delays. Call ahead and see if their are cancelations. We have been waiting here for 6 hours and praying there isn't further delay! Well today our flight ran over 45 min late. We arrive wanting to catch our flight to Vieques at another airport. We waited 45 min at the luggage carousel. First there last to leave all other airlines were there no rep from this airline. I rushed to the counter with 45 left to get to the airport, filled out a missing baggage form and was told that they would get with us. Here we are no baggage and 4 days on another island. Not sure what to say. Maybe, carry on all you luggage if you can pack light! We are on day two and I got a call stating they hv our bag. I was told this morning they would call me with the detail of the airline getting my bag here. It's almost 6PM no bag. We have had to buy clothes and swim suit along with personal items. Company is one of the most unorganized, unprofessional unfriendly staff I have ever seen and I have seen and dealt with many aviation companies domestic and international. Had a chance to see their aircrafts and most seemed in a very bad shape cleanliness wise ( urine scent all over the cabin) and maintenance wise seemed very questionable.( I would not feel safe in those planes) that's on the regular plane side. Honestly I don't know much about the seaplane division. But from I heard that not good either. read more

"Seaborne Airlines was the only airline to refuse to refund my flight due to Hurricane Irma! Although, my flight was CANCELLED BY Seaborne Airlines, they denied my refund, offering me only a credit for use in a year's time. ALL of my 5 other flights going to and from St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands were fully refunded by American and United Airlines because of the devastation to the Caribbean and the Southeastern Seaboard! I contacted Customer Relations via phone and email 5 separate times and the representatives cited a "Force Majeure Event" policy indicating Hurricane Irma is (was) "not an inconvenience caused by the airline," Seaborne Airlines. " Therefore, my ticket would not be refunded. I requested this issue be forwarded to higher management, to appeal to reason when such a policy is preposterously applied - as in this instance of unfathomable obliteration by Mother Nature! My hope was at an upper organizational level the decision would be made to follow the other Airline's lead, "to just do the right thing," and build a strong return customer base! The CEO, Ben Munson, had the opportunity to expand Seaborne Airline's target market or contribute to the collapse of the company due to the incredible competitive nature of the airline industry. DO NOT - EVER - FLY SEABORNE AIR UNLESS YOUR ONLY ALTERNATIVE IS TO SWIM! We arrived at the San Juan Puerto Rico airport on 17 Dec 2015 at 9:05 a.m. and waited 45 minutes to check our bags at the Seaborne counter. At the boarding gate we again waited in a very long slow line to board. Time came for boarding while we waited and we were not allowed to board. So we were stranded without luggage. Money we lost on that flight: $1,174.80 - plus the cost of tickets on Cape Air - which is a much better airline. On 21 Dec 2015 we arrived at the airport in St. Thomas for our Seaborne Flight 3556 to St. Croix at 9:15 a.m. where the counter agent told us that our tickets had been cancelled! Then this nasty little airline had the audacity to charge us a $150.00 reinstatement fee to buy more tickets for another flight which was an hour and a half late. We waited for so long and for so often that we had a chance to talk with other Seaborne passengers. Not one liked this airline. When I got home I wrote Delta to suggest that they move into the Caribbean and run Seaborne out of business. Our last engagement with Seaborne was 24 Dec 2015 on a flight from Saint Croix at 10:10 a.m. Because of mechanical difficulties we were not able to fly until 6:00. Every encounter we had with Seaborne was difficult. During our several days in the Virgin Islands the single most non-sleeping activity my wife and I did was to wait for that inefficient, unpleasant airline, which is unfortunate as it soured what was to have been the vacation of a lifetime. Despite many conversations with Seaborne they have refused to refund a penny. read more

Excellent Airline! Excellent Customer Service, I just been stranded in SJU for several days due to weather and certain operational issues but the airport personnel as well as the airline staff took care of 14 of us with very professional service and they went the extra mile to make sure we made to the our destination in FDF. Being a pilot for more than 25 years I know that their job is not easy on difficult times. At least they too care of us professionally and personally. After all, we should not expect, they put our lives at risk. I want to especially thank Rogelio and Abner for an excellent service! Also to Fernando for his personal attention and care of all of us! Unreliable operation with indolent, apathetic and disinterested staff. They will leave you stranded. Fly anyone else if you actually plan to get where you're going. They cancelled my flight from Antigua to San Juan without any explanation or apology, and made no effort at all to get me to my destination. I had to do everything myself, and it was only thanks to the great staff at JetBlue that I was able to get home at all. It's time for the US DOT to investigate this scam of an airline. read more

If I had written this review right after my unfortunate experience with Seaborne Airlines out of Puerto Rico to Anguilla, the company would have merely received one star. But the upper management of Seaborne changed that. My husband and I had a vacation planned in Anguilla. This involved a connecting flight from Puerto Rico to Anguilla with Seaborne Airlines. We had a very unfortunate experience with Seaborne not getting our luggage to us from Puerto Rico until the day we left Anguilla. The customer service was much below standard, with a very disinterested staff. After this event, I was persistent in contacting the upper management of Seaborne Airlines, with the help of the resort we stayed at. I did eventually have communication with a Seaborne executive, who listened to my story. As I expected, management had no idea that the customer service in Puerto Rico was so bad. They immediately started working on the problem. I quote what the chief of staff wrote back to me in less than one week. "To update you on the improvements: I have had the Airport Director implement a training module for the San Juan baggage staff in addition to the Management change. They also have new procedures outlined for alternate ways to deliver bags and imposed deadlines for returning customer inquiries. The Airport Director has a call set up with Anguilla to address our concerns there." Seaborne also compensated us fairly for the experience. I think it is fair to say, that if a company is made aware of a problem and addresses it quickly, they do deserve a decent review. I will be interested in seeing if I have a better experience the next time I try flying with Seaborne Airlines. Hopefully, all the one star reviews will start changing. Maureen read more

If only I could give 0 stars I would. Every single employee, every agent at the desk, every one at the gate, every customer service rep that I dealt with for 36 hours that they stranded me LIED to me at every opportunity. They must be carefully trained to do so. Then their "customer service" sent me an email with a "free ticket" and a statement that the check for my out of pocket costs that I sent them and they approved. The email said "check will be processed and sent to you in within 30 days". When they never sent it and I followed up then said "we have closed your case there will be no payment"....what? Are you kidding me? Liars. read more

I have recently seen positive reviews of this airline. I can only assume the company is writing them themselves. As the Caribbean options for travel are few, I would highly discourage anyone from traveling on this airline if at all possible. As a frequent flyer on Delta, I cannot believe that they would allow their name to be associated anywhere near this airline. Their customer service is very low class and hostile, their on time performance is on par with some of the worst regional carriers on the mainland. I am sure there are quality people trying at this airline, but they are not supported. If you have saved a lifetime for your dream vacation you will be sadly disappointed by this Caribbean disappointment.
