This airline truly lives up to its name. Absolutely the worst experience flying i have ever experienced. I had the inconvenience of flying from Dominican Republic to Puerto Rico and the airline staff was incredibly rude, disrespectful, and dismissive. The lack of customer service sets this airline apart from all others. I understand flights appear to be "affordable " but do not let that fool you. You must pay for a seat, drinks, snacks, bags, water, at this point simply charging you for breathing on the plane. Bags alone are 75 dollars for a carry on. A checked bag is 85 dollars. The seats are hard and unforgiving on your back and your body. No recline no leg room no tv just a dirty tray and seat back pocket that is never cleaned or wiped down. The gates the plane all dirty and unkept. This airline needs to take better care of their passengers and make structural changes to improve their integrity of travel I have reached out to this airline directly to come to a resolution and was met with hostility. I had a really good experience coming here with frontier. On the way here my girlfriend and I had our own business isle and on the return flight I got a window seat. Flights were on time no issues. The only comment would be the terminal, it was very crowded and there should be more bathrooms. read more

WARNING ABOUT FRONTIER AIRLINES This is now the SECOND time Frontier has charged my family questionable baggage fees, seemingly enforcing their policies whenever and however they choose. On my recent trip, I paid $158 round-trip for ONE checked bag. When I arrived at the airline counter, I was told they could not accept my checked bag because I was less than an hour from boarding. So I carried the bag with me to the gate, only to be charged ANOTHER $99 because the bag was supposed to have been checked at the counter. When I explained that the counter agent had refused to take the bag, the only response I received was, "Rules are rules." This isn't even our first issue. My husband stopped flying Frontier over a year ago after being charged $99 for the exact same backpack he had flown with multiple times before. The reason? They suddenly decided it had "too many items in it." At this point, it feels like baggage fees are being used as a revenue stream rather than being enforced consistently. Between the unpredictable charges, lack of flexibility, and poor customer service, we'll be taking our business elsewhere. The man compensating for something changed my booking due to exit row and my kids were sitting behind me but didn't like it. What did he think after I helped my kids and their mother I would just leave behind them like ya got this from here. If I could give this airline 0 stars, I would. I booked a round-trip flight from Chicago to San Juan and back. I was in San Juan and went through TSA and went to my gate for my Frontier Airlines flight. One hour before the plane was supposed to takeoff they made an announcement that it was canceled and they didn't give us a reason and they told us that they would not be answering questions and that we need to go to the frontier airline help desk, which was all the way back through the other side of TSA. The staff there was less than accommodating and we got an option to either get a refund for the flight returning to Chicago or we would get a one night stay in a hotel and they would put us on the next available flight which wasn't until three nights after our original flight cancellation. They would not give us a three night stay (even tho that's how long we would be forced to stay in San Juan for) We were stuck in the airport for 5+ hours with no help, no flight, and no where to stay. I'm writing a review on today's July 29th, 2024, time 5:15 am flight 4461 from San Juan, Puerto Rico to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A family of 8 that were on time in line waiting to get processed by the desk clerk were not allowed on the plane supposedly because the luggage was supposedly over the weight limit... but then charged an extra fee of $100 per person to get rebooked in a flight tomorrow night. Is this a new strategy to get extra money, is Frontier that much in need of cash that they overbook flights and scam people like this? This is the worst airline, its worst than Spirit! In fact, my sons paper airplane would be better. The customer service and design of the chairs makes them less than a 1 star. The staff are uninformed and unpleasant. No manners or respect for the customer. The flight 2265 from POS was completely dirty; there were trash under the seats and spilled substances on at least 3 different isles. Yes the tickets are super cheap but by the time you pay for luggage, your carryon, to speak to an agent a beverage or snack you have paid for a full ticket with comfort at American, Delta, or Southwest. Luggage can only weigh up to 40lbs, then you must pay more up to 50lbs, then more money after that. If you would like to speak to an agent at the airport it's $23.00 but the app is free. I was on a transfer flight with another lady. On the 2nd flight she was stopped and told her carryon was too big although she had just gotten off another of their flights. The agents at the desk laughed at her as frantically told them she just got off of their flight and the bag fits under the chair. She also said she did not have a credit card only debit and cash. The agents giggled again. I found this extremely unprofessional and disrespectful to this older lady. My flight was late and there wa lack of communication as well. Trash Airline! You will 100% pay the exact same amount with every fee they can think off. You can't physically check in, a carry on bag is 60 dollars which most other airlines a checked bag 40-60. Their business model is to screw over their customers hiding the money they will really pay and pretend you're getting a good deal upfront. Their staff is annoyed that you are annoyed at their companies polices and can't be bothered to lift a finger unless you pay more than the ticket you already bought. In all honesty I do everything possible to avoid having to fly on Frontier because I always feel like they do the bait and switch when you fly with them. They offer the really cheap price but when you finish buying your seat, paying for luggage, paying for a drink (water). Next thing you know you will have to pay to use the restroom. The seats are really uncomfortable; you can't even recline. Absolutely no media entertainment system, you have to bring your own and hope your phone doesn't die on you. This airline is a joke I wasn't able to check in on line I had to download the app, and because I didn't, and I did the checking at airport I got charged $25 for each passenger. $125 in total for 4 passengers they charged me for a passenger the didn't event aboard the flight, and instead of me getting my money back for that person not flying I got charged a $25 for someone the didn't travel, on top of that they charge me $79 for two carrier on bags and $79 for a bag the I did check in and another $79 plus $75 because they said anything over 40lbs is overweight.? $391+$125= $516 extra and on top of this because cancelations do to ernesto hurricane and the plain being full I bough a seat for my 2 year old daughter and they told me she had to go on my lap so I pay for a seat for no reason? and when I told them accordingly to the rules and regulations any kid older than two years old have to be seated they just told me to shut up because the flight was already delayed and it was running late they had to seat everyone inside the plane. This is the text I got from them last night. Frontier Travel Alert: Flight 3002 from SJU is delayed because of flight crew regulations. Departure now estimated at 7:36 AM. For the passenger the didn't flight I call the airline a week in advance and I waisted a whole day in the phone going from one lady to another. I will wait to hear back from them because there's no way you can make a formal complaint. If there was a way to give 0 stars, I would. The Frontier staff at this location in SJU are deplorable! They are so rude, misinformed and nonchalant about not being professional!! They tried to scam us out of $100 each for our personal items which fit into the bins with a little rearranging. The supervisor, Ramona Gomez, didn't allow me or the other family members in my reservation to board and never told us she cancelled out flight that was taking off within 15 minutes. I stood in line waiting to board until I noticed my plane taking off and asked what was going on, only to be told "You didn't pay the $300 I told you to. You're not getting on that flight. I locked the doors and closed them and the plane is leaving." So I said now what? Only to not be answered and told that I need to leave. Ummm, excuse me??? Leave and go where??? I purchased a flight for my family that I was not allowed to board for no reason whatsoever. She threatened me with the police and I asked her to please call them. The police were very nice and advised that she is obviously not going to work with me and is ignoring me so to try a different agent at the counter. The agents at the counter were already informed about what happened and tried to tell me I would have had to pay for our bags to board the flight and there are no more flights available that day. I tried to call customer service. There is no number to speak with a human. I chatted customer service only to be told the agents at the airline should have changed my flight and to go back. I went back only to be told I have to repay for any flights we wanted to take and that I am not allowed to fly frontier from SJU. Huh????? There's a crowd of of over 60 people, all waiting to be checked in- it is now 5 p.m. and the flight to Orlando leaves at 7:37 p.m. I had NEVER experienced this level of unprofessional behavior from an airline to its passengers. I really wish there was a zero stars option because this airline deserves that. Don't be fooled by the "cheap"airfares you will end up paying as much as if you flew a better airline after bags. They charge $75 for bags 40lbs and under then anything over 40lbs they add $100 over weight charge so yes folks $175 if your bag is 50lbs. Most large bags will be because they weight a bit on their own. The counter staff at the San Juan PR has to be the worst, so rude and argumentative. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE DONT FLY WITH FRONTIER!! RATING BIG FAT 00000!! My Auntie flew home from San Juan PR IN AUG 2022 Ticket counter person turned her away stating that she didn't have seats assigned to her and her family without checking their system to confirmed and told her the flight was full and couldn't accommodate her and her family on the flight. I checked her in the night before making sure her flight was on time and made sure she had seats assigned as well. BULLSHIT #1: Thank goodness I was on 20 mins away from a 3 hour drive I took get her to airport. They proceed to get her on the next flight leaving the next day at the same time. Spend the night in San Juan. I call customer service to find out why she was turned away knowing she had assigned seats. Customer Service said they could not do anything for me to talk to the ticket counter person at the airport. Get to the airport the next day looking for restitution for the hotel and possibly her baggage refund. Get to the counter explain my situation to the counter persone and they call their manager. BULLSHIT#2: Speak to the Manager and he said he couldn't do anything at the counter but to call customer service. I told him I already spoke with customer service and was told to come and speak with him. Manager found a note stating that my Auntie and her family arrived after the flight had left. She arrived at the airport at 3:01pm and flight was not leaving until 4:28pm. He goes on to tell me he doesn't have the means to give me the restitution I was requesting to customer service. BULLSHIT #3: I get back home from Puerto Rico and call Frontier customer service again repeat my story again and they tell me that I needed to go to the ticket counter and resolve my issue there that they couldn't help me. I told her I was not in Puerto Rico but in Connecticut that can I go to the ticket counter in my home state? WAIT FOR IT!....... She said NO! The worst airline ever. I didn't pick them because of the price I picked them for their schedule . I normally fly Delta but there wasn't a direct flight available for my niece and nephew. They didn't let them board because they were stuck in and accident and were a few minutes late. Then they were offering them alternative flights going from Orlando to Philadelphia to go to Puerto Rico. They had a direct flight the next morning but never offered it to my niece and nephew. We had to purchase a separate ticket on another airline . Let's add that they charge for everything . If they could charge you the air you breathe on the plane they would . My flight was cancelled from San Juan to Philadelpia. The staff was selective of who they gave accurate information. Being that I booked 3rd Party, I was denied a Hotel Voucher and a Meal Voucher. After they cancelled the flight we had to exit the waiting area. Waited two hours to speak to an agent, to be told the next flight was on Sunday, which was a lie. I went on Skyscraper to find another flight to get me home. I saw a 5:45AM flight from San Juan to Philly, but was told that flight was sold out from the Ticket agent. Long story short. I found a flight for $1300 for my family. This was my First and Last time every booking with this Airline. Perhaps this was a good thing that I did not fly with them, I could only imagine the service in the air. Dear Frontier, if you provide a service, you must alway strive to do better. You all should come together, read what people are saying about the service you provide and try your best to do better. You cannot have a policy that states, being that you book 3rd party, we cannot accommodate you. You still have my money, so It should not matter who I booked with. All staff members should be trained to treat ALL people the same not just the one who speak the same Lanuage. Remember, we the people can build you up and take you down. Worst airline I've ever flown with. First flight we landed and sat on the tarmac for 45 minutes before we got off the plane. Second flight left 1 hour late with no explanation. When we finally got to our destination we had no baggage for over two hours with no communication from Frontier despite multiple calls to customer service.
