Kelly made up a warm welcoming chalk board for me wishing me Happy Birthday. Great room with incredible views of 2 great horses in the pasture directly across. Zollie and Rosa are beautiful and are very much cared for by the gentleman that owns many acres of land not attached to the cottage property. Zollie is the larger horse with a reddish mane and white hooves and Rosa is the darker chestnut with a black mane and tail. The room is amazing! Beautiful tiled floors with a Persian throw rug. The sleigh bed is incredibly comfortable with Egyptian Cotton sheets to die for. There is an amazing sun room attached with a back door and windows. I saw deer early in the morning on the property next door outside of the horse pasture. The front gardens of the property are well appointed with amazing sculptures, beautiful flowers that attract many hummingbirds and birds of all kinds. It is like a step back in time of wonderful powerful energy of nature and peace. A much needed therapy these days! I planned it so that I was there for the full moon in Virgo as well as my Virgo birthday! I have included that moon in my pictures here. It was gorgeous! There is a special black cat that is very friendly and since I am a major animal whisperer (everyone says it) this cat took to me instantly. The animals are not allowed in the cottages but he was polite and sat on my outside chair and slept and always visited me first thing in the morning. I encouraged it so if you are not in to cats or the one dog then just go on your way and they will leave you alone. There is a TV in the room but no cable, which is fine. There is a cute outdoor library of over 300 movies to choose from for your room. There is strong WiFi so I could watch Netflix on my computer if I wanted to. There is a mini fridge and wonderfully appointed glassware, bowls, a cutting board, and it works well for me since I went 5 minutes in to town and bought some salads, sandwiches, and great croissants at Bovine Bakery. It is expensive to eat every meal out so it is nice to be able to mix it up with both. All necessary stores, one gas station, Wells Fargo Bank, are all in town just minutes away by car. I will definitely return. Thank you Kelly for all that you did to make my birthday perfect!! :-)

I found a property to book this Fall, 2026 that was available on the calendar -- all was set and confirmed, although I was concerned I did not receive any receipt or email confirmation. I was then told that the owner had booked another party for the dates we submitted, and so our reservation was not accepted although it was indeed 'confirmed' soon after I booked. Seems like the owner blocked out the calendar AFTER we submitted our reservation, something you absolutely cannot do on a platform like Airbnb and VRBO -- in fact, if property owners did that on those platforms, they would be fined. Needless to say, with all the time you place into securing a rental, this was a complete waste of my time. Save yourself the headache and book with a more reliable source.

We diligently kept the windows and doors closed during our stay, but we woke up the next morning with at least 20 bites between the two of us. The buzzing in our ears woke us up too. Suffice to say, we did not stay the additional night and left early. I highly recommend the owners take steps to eliminate this problem. I cannot recommend this place to friends and co-workers.

The email bounced because the mailbox was full, so we're posting the email we sent to Yelp. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Positives: * Quiet and peaceful. * Very nice view. * Useful kitchenette items: plates, cutlery, microwave, coffee maker (with Peet's coffee!), etc. Improvement suggestions: * The windows need washing, especially in the dining area. The view is one of the main attractions of your property, and it's a shame (and disappointing) to look through dirty windows. * There are cobwebs in areas in the room (example: next to the book case in the dining area), and outside on the deck and deck chairs. In fact, the Adirondack chairs on the deck were so dirty we didn't want to sit on them. * The room lighting is a mish-mash of incandescent, CFL, and LED, with different color temperatures. Suggest redoing the lighting with LED lights in the 3000 (warm light) color temperature. Also, the low-voltage puck lights in the soffit above the kitchen counter don't work. At least, we couldn't find a switch to turn them on. Fixing this would brighten up the kitchenette. * The handle on the right-side loft window is incapable of opening the window. (There's a small set screw meant to secure the handle to the window winding mechanism's shaft, and the screw is loose so the handle just spins on the shaft so the window doesn't open.) * The cushioning in the two table chairs in the dining area and the two reclining chairs in the living area is worn and compressed, so the cushioning is marginal. The chairs need to be reupholstered or replaced; they're basically worn out. Making these improvements would elevate the room from just okay to very good and make the relatively high room rate more reasonable.

I've cycled a lot around Point Reyes and taken many one-day road trips, but I've never really…read moreexplored the area extensively due to a lack of time. That recently changed thanks to the recent overnight accommodations provided by the Black Heron Inn. Located in Point Reyes Station, about a 5-minute drive from downtown, it's the perfect place to stay when exploring Point Reyes. I had done quite a bit of research on accommodations in the area, but the options seemed to either be way too expensive or way too "patchouli" for my taste. The Black Heron Inn was the perfect fit for me and my wife. They have three guest rooms, and due to the lack of availability of the other rooms, I selected the Grand View Suite. And what a "Grand View" it was. My strong suggestion is not to plan too much during the late afternoon because you'll want to open a bottle of wine and enjoy the view from the outdoor deck or the dining room table before heading off to dinner for some oysters. The clean and well appointed rooms have a small refrigerator, a small microwave, and a toaster as well as dishes and silverware, so make sure to bring some ready to eat food with you to store in the room since food is not provided. We personally picked up some breakfast savories and sweets from Brickmaiden Breads, and our mornings were set. Coffee is provided along with a Cuisinart Coffee maker. If you don't like your coffee black or enjoy creamers, be sure to pack some milk for the fridge. The proprietors are pretty hands-off when it comes to guest interaction (which is just fine), but they are very responsive if necessary. One thing I did learn while talking to them briefly was that they have a lot of repeat customers. Based on our recent stay, I can see why!

It looks like they've put a lot of effort into renovating and updating the property, and it really shows. Our cottage was very clean, comfortable, and felt newly refreshed. One feature we especially loved was that both bedrooms had doors leading out to the private backyard patio, which made the space feel open and relaxing. The only minor drawback was the living room furniture layout. It wasn't ideal for watching TV, but we simply moved the couch back a bit and rearranged the chairs, which solved the problem. A loveseat would make the space even more comfortable. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly accommodating. They took the time to show us other rooms on the property and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. The new restaurant wasn't open during our visit, but it's a great addition and gives us another reason to come back. Just a quick 20 drive to the Point Reyes Beaches. If you're looking for a peaceful place just steps from the beautiful waters of Tomales Bay, with kayak rentals right on the property, I highly recommend Tomales Bay Resort & Marina. It's truly a hidden gem.

The room itself it gross and dirty..... hair everywhere from past guest, dead bugs everywhere, dirt in mini fridge/ freezer (even in the ice tray). I picked off huge food chunks from the containers and tables. All the outlets on the walls are loose and falling off the walls, you can't plug anything in to charge your items! The owner should also keep their personal political beliefs to themselves and not put posters and signs everywhere!

The room was lovely, with a window seat and modern bathroom. We arrived on a record hot day, but the 2 cooling fans and the screened windows left open at night provided a cool sleep. The bed was large and comfy and parking is steps away. The other joy of Olema House is that it's a couple of minutes drive to Pt Reyes Station House Cafe and the national park entrance!
