My family rented 181 Dipsea for 2 months and because of the Coronavirus we got to see Seadrift…read moreRealty and the owner's true character. Cold greed like I've never seen before. The sort of character that makes your skin creep up, like you're watching a horror film. A few individuals I'd like to make you beware of are Mr. O'Connor (owner of 181 Dipsea), Ashley and Betsy (both from Seadrift realty). I couldn't put their full names because of Yelp's policy. I'm writing this review, a day after being forced to move out and risk transmitting Covid-19 to my father, with no where else to go. A "shelter at home" order and "moratorium on evictions" has been put in place by the Governor of California. My dad is one of the highest risk categories of death for the Virus according to his cancer doctor, the CDC, and the World Health Organization. Here are some details that I wanted to make future renters and the Stinson community aware of. My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic center. Our family was in shock but we moved into a charming house, 181 Dipsea, while he began his chemo treatments just over the hill from Stinson. At first everything was ideal, the house was charming, birds flying around in the lagoon, soft waves crashing on the beach, my dad could relax from the mental and physical exhaustion from one of the most lethal cancers. My dad then decided he'd like to spend his days in Jackson hole because of new developments with the Coronavirus. We ofcourse moved him there even if that would put our family through financial strain. I stayed at the Stinson house to close it out and pack our things before our rental contract was over. Then the Coronavirus became a harsh reality around March 11th globally. Because of how novel the virus was, even the cancer doctors were grappling with how to communicate to their patients. It wasn't until a few days before our rent contract would end on April 4th 2020, that our cancer doctor recommended to our family through a Zoom call that I needed to be quarantined for at least 7 more days after the rental contract was due (14 days since last possible exposure). When Mr. O'Connor, Ashley, and Betsy heard of our precarious situation, they showed their true colors. Here are a few quotes from Mr. O'Connor: "Certainly you can quarantine as you wish elsewhere, and if that is not to your taste I have nothing to say about that, which is your issue, not mine." "Accordingly, if you persist in holding over, we expect remuneration at a rate of $500 per day, our normal rate in April. If you do not pay this amount through Seadrift Realty or otherwise, we will have no recourse but to institute a lawsuit against you to collect this amount plus court costs." I've attached both his first and second email below and removed full names as per Yelp's policy. There are a lot of amazing and good people in Stinson and owners of Seadrift properties. But based on how this situation was handled, I believe the community and future renters, would be better without the evil from Betsy, Ashley and Mr. O'Connor.

Biggest problem is availability, which, ok. Trying to book again but its getting to be high season and everything is booked out and what's available is fairly expensive.

We do like to support local, small businesses especially with vacation rentals where you can avoid…read morethose big fees from VRBO and AIRBNB. I found a property to book this Fall, 2026 that was available on the calendar -- all was set and confirmed, although I was concerned I did not receive any receipt or email confirmation. I was then told that the owner had booked another party for the dates we submitted, and so our reservation was not accepted although it was indeed 'confirmed' soon after I booked. Seems like the owner blocked out the calendar AFTER we submitted our reservation, something you absolutely cannot do on a platform like Airbnb and VRBO -- in fact, if property owners did that on those platforms, they would be fined. Needless to say, with all the time you place into securing a rental, this was a complete waste of my time. Save yourself the headache and book with a more reliable source.

We took on Alamere falls and it was a lot of fun. On the way back our car broke down and we stopped in the lovely town of Bolinas. Our first move was to try to find a mechanic. The locals pointed us to someone named Sean. We went to a bar to try to find him only for someone there to tell us he was in Richmond. I love that all the locals there knew this one mechanic. Eventually we called AAA to get the car towed and they came within an hour which was impressive Next on the agenda was to call an Uber to get us out of here. After roughly twelve attempts to call an Uber we found one. Our plan is to first Uber to Mill Valley and then try to catch something to S.F. While waiting we got some food here. The food was quite good. The fish tacos are very flavorful with excellent salsa. They had a robust menu of vegan options a the vegan chicken bowl is really good and ethically sourced to boot! If you are ever in Bolinas I highly recommend this restaurant!

Do not eat here. This place was just as bad as the place I visited in Wyoming…read more I ordered a taco salad. It said it had Pico de gallo. Since when is Pico de gallo just a few diced tomatoes? It said it came with beans. Which is something that would typically be in a taco salad at the bottom. Well, this one didn't. It had a few black beans sprinkled on top. Then the corn? Unsure about that but there were sprinkles of that. I had to pay for the guacamole. Okay, typical. Then onto the the protein. Typically, taco salads come with this but not at this place. They charge $5 extra for that and it wasnt very much. The "asada" was the tiny cubed type. You know the type you see in grocery stores? It tasted like meat that had been left in the fridge for a few days and reheated. So, if you like lettuce in a taco shell that has a few sprinkles of other things, then this $25 "taco" salad is for you. My 14 yr old is a better cook. We also ordered a bean a cheese burrito. He did say that was a kids burrito, so I said okay. I didn't know it was $12. The waffle fries were good. Someone we brought with us ordered those and shared. She said her other food item was dreadful. The other person said his food was not worth the $20ish he spent on his burrito either. We were hungry and didn't plan accordingly. Next time, we will. This place is your typical overpriced horrible food tourist trap place. Just come with food if you plan on visiting the beach. I feel bad for the people who actually live in this town and this is one of the veey limited options they have for eating out. Over the years, I haven't had one decent food place ranging from Stinson beach up to bodega bay. I'd gladly pay the prices if any of the food was actually good. This is about the food and not about the service. That's the 1 star because at least the staff was nice.

He was awesome and accommodating. Frodo mentioned that the room was small, which we were okay with. We were going to Stinson for the beach and outdoors, not to be cooped up in a room. The room was super clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable. I laid down at 7P (I was merely napping) and ended up waking up at 7A! The bed was so comfortable it sucked me in and didn't let me go till 12 hours later! The next morning Frodo asked us how we slept and if everything was okay with the room. See Frodo is a good guy after all.

Who knew that you could feel like a spoiled "local" and have the access to the best properties, shops, restaurants and "insider" tips through an agency? We decided the answer is that iVilla is not just a rental "agency", but a full service vacation rental company. The service from the very beginning was excellent and seamless in every way. The property was beautiful and frankly, something that I would have spent months trying to research to find on other websites. Not having the time to do that, I decided to try iVilla, based on our desire for good design, good looking flats and vacation homes, but not wanting to spend the amounts of money so many other companies require. We were not disappointed! We also have stayed at one of their Paris rentals and found it to be such a gracious home away from home; in the perfect arrondisement, beautifully decorated, a lovely terrace and again, seamless service. I HIGHLY recommend anyone with an eye for design and a budget that you want to adhere to so you can have those great dinners out and go on a few shopping sprees to give iVilla a try. Beautiful, comfortable, well equipped, and nicely priced. We were able to bring our dog for an additional fee but it was worth it to have the whole family there. We had an intimate BBQ with some friends and enjoyed walks on the beach. The house is located close enough to walk to town or to one of the restaurants. Absolutely wonderful and we can't wait to return.
