They offered a modest breakfast which we were able to enjoy in our room's balcony. I didn't like the bathroom light though. It automatically turns on but then it automatically shut off too in the middle of my shower! The bathroom had no windows so it went really dark! Great weekend at Seafoam Lodge. I booked through Bookings.com. Nice grounds, great parking, lots of outdoor space to walk my dogs (another couple had miniature horses). Bocce ball court, frisbee golf course, plenty of outdoor seating at each room/bungalow as well as a nice huge rock setting (good for weddings) with seating. Clean room, extremely comfortable bed, quiet, updated bathroom, lots of towels and some added goodies (Qtips, nail file, facial makeup remover wipes, shampoo, etc. Plenty of parking close to assigned rooms. Ice machine near room. Good mini breakfast in the morning: coffee, delish muffins, fruit and more. Customer service was EXCELLENT! Easy check in, additional nightly fee for each dog (not a big deal). Dog clean up / potty stations and signs to pickup after dogs. Lots of dogs stayed over, plenty of room for all dogs to coexist and go potty. Cool to see the mini horses staying the weekend. read more

This was a delightful stay with serene ocean views. The room was clean and rustically beautiful. The bed was comfortable. The grounds were lovely. I wish the jacuzzi was still there in the dilapidated shack. For the price, this was an excellent and relaxing stay. They are even dog friendly! The only thing I would have preferred was a screen door on the deck, so that we could open the sliding glass door and not worry about bugs (not that we saw many). read more

I stayed here for 2 nights and loved everything about it! It was very clean, cozy, spacious, and warm. It's in a quiet area with a gorgeous view, and each morning I woke up to dozens of robins picking through the grass. I caught a glimpse of a deer as well from the front porch of my room. It's about 10 min south of Mendocino and you have to drive there for the closest gas station and restaurants. The owner is so kind, accommodating, and helpful too! It'll definitely be my go-to spot for whoever I visit the area :) read more

On the recommendation of friends, I tried Seafoam for the first time, and what a lovely surprise. I had a large end room with a huge balcony. Fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and a view that wouldn't quit! I don't remember the last time a room was this clean, I mean down to the corners. And the best part? Thomas and Christina at the desk. Well, more than that... they make things click. At cocktail time, Thomas would bring me a bag of ice. Several times Christina had made fresh banana bread and he brought me a slice. What a great location! I made a last minute booking here on a whim for a weekend getaway. It was $300 for the night which is what you'll pay for for the location. What is unique a great about this lodge is that EVERY room has an ocean view! We were on the second floor end unit. The balcony is spacious and has a bar table with 2 chairs on it. We had dinner on the balcony with a view of the ocean and sunset on the night we stayed. Zack, the front desk manager, was very friendly and gave us great restaurant suggestions of all kinds. He set up a nice breakfast the next morning in the lobby which consisted of cereals, oatmeal, croissants, danishes, bagels, muffins. This was all complimentary. Along with coffee, orange juice, apple juice, hot chocolate. It's always nice when you have a great amiable front desk manager. Outside of the lobby there are a couple of small tables for 2 where you an sit and eat your breakfast. There is also a small little patio below with chairs and string lights where you can sit as well. The room we had was clean, updated and had a very comfortable bed! The amenities like soap, shampoo, conditioner were good quality also. I love when hotels do the refillable shampoo, conditioner, body soap dispensers in the shower and it reduces usage of plastic bottles and is less wasteful. The shower was nicely tiled as well as the bathroom floors. There is a TV and blow dryer in the room as well as free wi-fi. The lodge is very close to downtown Mendocino (6 minute drive) and a 12-15 minute drive to Fort Bragg. Super convenient! I would definitely recommend this lodge for anyone looking to stay in the area! read more

This Shelter in Place has me missing so many places. The list is endless and I just do not know where to begin. The Seafoam Lodge is a recent discovery. My wife and I stayed here this past January for her birthday weekend. Before booking, I did quite a bit of research and it seemed for the price point it provided a lot of value for the buck. And once we arrived Seafoam far exceeded our expectations. The rooms are newly renovated and updated to a level of comfort that is hard to beat. The rooms are spacious and quiet. Also the views are amazing from your private balcony. The checkin staff is super friendly and very accommodating to your any need. The location is perfect for a quick five mile drive to the beautiful town of Mendocino and some of the North Coasts most epic state parks. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that our Shelter in Place eases up and we can get back here this summer. read more

Not worth the price tag. The room was organized but it reeked of bleach and dirty mop water. The walls are paper thin and certain guests behaved rudely and racist. I did not feel safe or welcomed in this over priced basic looking lodge. We could barely see the ocean due to the tree line and road. We love staying at Hilton and Marriott (free breakfast and lots of amenities) properties because we are treated with respect. This will be the first and last time we patronize this establishment. I would not be surprise if this place goes under. read more

We've stayed at several different places in Mendocino but we loved Seafoam Lodge by far. The rooms are clean, comfortable and have a great ocean view. We brought our dog along which is allowed with a small pet deposit. Plenty of poop bags/trash bins in several locations on the property plus lots of open land for dogs to play and poop. The grounds are beautiful with flowers and beautiful trees. The rooms have big, private balconies with a table and chairs. The best thing about this place is the people. Zack handled the front desk and the breakfast. It's pretty much a 24-hour job and he works really hard but is super personable. Pam is the mgr and her husband Fabian works there too. Fabian was working hard in the rooms. Pam remodeled the entire facility in 2019 and did an amazing job. The flowers were all planted by her. The hydrangeas are the biggest, most beautiful that I've seen. The star of the show is room 21. It's beautifully appointed and Pam's pride and joy. Next time we're staying in that room. Our room (18) was great too. We'll be returning for sure. read more

We had such a wonderful stay at Seafoam Lodge. A quiet, cute, clean, and cozy place for our quick trip along the coast. Everything felt like it had just it had been newly remodeled! The decor was too cute! Our room had a garden/ocean view which was so beautiful on a clear day. The room had a king bed, tv, mini fridge, heating/ac unit, wifi (no service for us in the area), tiny seating area for dining, and a patio. The bed was heavenly.. seriously, let me have their comforter or the whole thing! They also had a full length mirror and all the amenities we needed. Free breakfast/snacks available from 7-10am. After that $1 each. Loved the variety in the snacks they provided! If you want something to eat for a meal, you're going to have to drive ten minutes out to downtown Mendocino or elsewhere. A little scary to drive at night time because no street lights. Check in/out was easy peasy. Location was convenient to everything we wanted to visit. Parking was no problem. Just be careful on the drive up and down as it is one road to get to the lodge. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone! read more

At $350 per night (mid-week), this place was ridiculously overpriced. The rooms are nicely decorated inside, but the ambience and exterior are those of an upscale motel, and the price should have been commensurate. This is not even in Mendocino, where one can walk to restaurants and shops. The AC/heater blows right into the face of the person sleeping on the side; the bathroom was so small you have to sidle around the door and then close the door to get inside; there is no soap provided at the basin so that you have to lean over the bath to the furthest side to pump for body wash; there is not enough room for outer bedside tables in a room with two queens; the "breakfast" is self-serve and takeaway only, in a tiny motel office. And the ocean view is across the road and glimpsed between trees. Finally, two pet peeves that apply to many hotels - the lamps don't provide nearly enough light to read, and there are not enough hooks in the bathroom to hang towels, toiletry bags, clothes you've just taken off, and clothes you're going to put on. The three stars are for the comfortable interior of the rooms, especially the beds, and the nice little garden beds outside each room. read more

They try but too much is off. Our single biggest issue was finding that the heater/AC is placed so that it blows directly into the face of anyone sleeping on that side of the bed. This was early April and it was cold outside. We turned off the heater and put the half ton comforter back on the bed and it kept us warm as long as we did not need to get up during the night. We were ready to cut our two night stay short. Fortunately not every room is configured that way and we were able to get a change. We still had worries with the cold though. The flooring is of some sort of masonry material and even with the heat on walking around was very cold. Fortunately we have learned to bring our own coffee because theirs was a strange tasting blend. You might like it though. They do offer a breakfast but only the bananas were edible to me. Still, if you make sure that you do not get a room with the heater in that position, bring slippers and make other plans for breakfast. read more

The location and ambiance of the room is nice. I don't recommend room 4, the out side lights shine into the large windows making it hard to sleep. The whole room was lit up. No way of shutting them off. Front desk shared the lights are on for safety reasons. The room should have curtains or blinds to block out the lights. FYI the lights are not in the distance, they are right on the patios and front door. $199.00 a night and I can read a book without turning on an inside light. Terrible night sleep. Don't recommend! I recently stayed at the seafoam lodge for a family vacation including our dogs! I had prep to making reservations and the staff was helpful in explaining how close their hotel was to glass beach as that was our main reason for visiting the area. This place is about 20 mins away from glass beach but the area of the lodge itself is beautiful. It was great. The rooms were clean and well kept. The only thing about the room we're the beds and pillows were way too soft. We would sink whenever we laid down but by night two we got used to it. The scenery is breaktaking beautiful you can see the ocean from the room. We stay in room 17. However the frogs are VERY loud at night so be prepared. This place is dog friendly as well which was what we wanted and needed, and it was so cute bc the front desk, Zack let us have dog treats or toys for our dog family. I also really liked that the front desk has coffee and light continental breakfast such as fruit bagels or cereals which was helpful for a quick grab and go. I would stay here again. read more

Nice little inn on the upper costal highway of California. The whole place was recently renovated and looks great! You have nice porch looking out into the ocean and horizon. The location is opposite the cliffs on the road so it is somewhat obstructed with trees but still relaxing. The interior is all new and each room has different decorations. My family and I couldn't be more happier with our stay here. We wanted to get away from confinement just to feel normal & keep sane due to this current climate. And we found a gem in this place. This place is awesome!! This was a last minute find on our way up the coast. Super sweet abs spacious spot with ocean views from every room. This spot was just redone and every thing is very sweet, clean and majestic. Dogs are allowed and the only thing that is missing is a hot tub, but apparently one is in the works. The manager is great and was super welcoming. Breakfast is limited: cereal, oatmeal, juice, etc. no complaints though - we will definitely be back and with our dogs! read more

Great stay at Seafoam Lodge! We were not interested in staying at a super fancy resort or old Victorian inn. Seafoam offered a nice middle ground. Our room was similar to what you would get in a standard hotel but was much cozier. The room had a king bed, TV, microwave, mini fridge, free wifi, seating area + table for dining, large private patio and patio chairs. The price was affordable and one of the only places in the area that offered one-night stays (many had a two-night minimum). The value is even better because every room also has an ocean view! There were a number of other places that charged more and are near the ocean, but do not offer an ocean view- Seafoam does! The lodge does not have its own restaurant, so you will have to travel elsewhere for food. That was not an issue for us as many other places in the area have their own restaurants so we just went there for dinner. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is not interested in breaking the bank at a super fancy resort or is not attracted to that old Victorian style. Also, you can't beat the view. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area. read more
