Great weekend at Seafoam Lodge. I booked through Bookings.com. Nice grounds, great parking, lots of outdoor space to walk my dogs (another couple had miniature horses). Bocce ball court, frisbee golf course, plenty of outdoor seating at each room/bungalow as well as a nice huge rock setting (good for weddings) with seating. Clean room, extremely comfortable bed, quiet, updated bathroom, lots of towels and some added goodies (Qtips, nail file, facial makeup remover wipes, shampoo, etc. Plenty of parking close to assigned rooms. Ice machine near room. Good mini breakfast in the morning: coffee, delish muffins, fruit and more. Customer service was EXCELLENT! Easy check in, additional nightly fee for each dog (not a big deal). Dog clean up / potty stations and signs to pickup after dogs. Lots of dogs stayed over, plenty of room for all dogs to coexist and go potty. Cool to see the mini horses staying the weekend.

Make this your place to stay! Seafoam Lodge has beautiful views and excellent service to make you feel welcomed and relaxed. You're welcome to cozy up by a fire to end the night. This charming retreat is surrounded by majestic trees and a perfect front view of the sea. The atmosphere is quiet enough to hear the ocean waves and give you a peaceful nights rest.

On the right, with the large balcony, is my room. Also pet friendly.

On the recommendation of friends, I tried Seafoam for the first time, and what a lovely surprise. I had a large end room with a huge balcony. Fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and a view that wouldn't quit! I don't remember the last time a room was this clean, I mean down to the corners. And the best part? Thomas and Christina at the desk. Well, more than that... they make things click. At cocktail time, Thomas would bring me a bag of ice. Several times Christina had made fresh banana bread and he brought me a slice. How does it get more thoughtful than that? The entire staff was friendly and helpful, and I certainly appreciate them!

We had such a comfortable, and relaxing stay at the Seafoam Lodge in Mendocino. The property grounds were immaculate, with beautiful landscaping and a variety of plants that added to the serene atmosphere. Our room was spacious, spotless, and tastefully decorated with modern touches that made it feel like a perfect blend of style and comfort. One of the highlights was the view of the ocean from our balcony, which added an extra touch of tranquility to the experience. The check-in process was smooth and welcoming, setting the tone for a wonderful stay. Great location with a short drive to town.

What a great location! I made a last minute booking here on a whim for a weekend getaway. It was $300 for the night which is what you'll pay for for the location. What is unique a great about this lodge is that EVERY room has an ocean view! We were on the second floor end unit. The balcony is spacious and has a bar table with 2 chairs on it. We had dinner on the balcony with a view of the ocean and sunset on the night we stayed. Zack, the front desk manager, was very friendly and gave us great restaurant suggestions of all kinds. He set up a nice breakfast the next morning in the lobby which consisted of cereals, oatmeal, croissants, danishes, bagels, muffins. This was all complimentary. Along with coffee, orange juice, apple juice, hot chocolate. It's always nice when you have a great amiable front desk manager. Outside of the lobby there are a couple of small tables for 2 where you an sit and eat your breakfast. There is also a small little patio below with chairs and string lights where you can sit as well. The room we had was clean, updated and had a very comfortable bed! The amenities like soap, shampoo, conditioner were good quality also. I love when hotels do the refillable shampoo, conditioner, body soap dispensers in the shower and it reduces usage of plastic bottles and is less wasteful. The shower was nicely tiled as well as the bathroom floors. There is a TV and blow dryer in the room as well as free wi-fi. The lodge is very close to downtown Mendocino (6 minute drive) and a 12-15 minute drive to Fort Bragg. Super convenient! I would definitely recommend this lodge for anyone looking to stay in the area!

Not worth the price tag. The room was organized but it reeked of bleach and dirty mop water. The walls are paper thin and certain guests behaved rudely and racist. I did not feel safe or welcomed in this over priced basic looking lodge. We could barely see the ocean due to the tree line and road. We love staying at Hilton and Marriott (free breakfast and lots of amenities) properties because we are treated with respect. This will be the first and last time we patronize this establishment. I would not be surprise if this place goes under.

This Shelter in Place has me missing so many places. The list is endless and I just do not know where to begin. The Seafoam Lodge is a recent discovery. My wife and I stayed here this past January for her birthday weekend. Before booking, I did quite a bit of research and it seemed for the price point it provided a lot of value for the buck. And once we arrived Seafoam far exceeded our expectations. The rooms are newly renovated and updated to a level of comfort that is hard to beat. The rooms are spacious and quiet. Also the views are amazing from your private balcony. The checkin staff is super friendly and very accommodating to your any need. The location is perfect for a quick five mile drive to the beautiful town of Mendocino and some of the North Coasts most epic state parks. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that our Shelter in Place eases up and we can get back here this summer.

Set off the road and against a gorgeous forrest backdrop. Beautiful ocean views, comfortable beds and well appointed room with mini fridge and microwave. Good coffee and great muffins for breakfast. Pet friendly

this property is so cute! we stayed in room 1, it was super clean, comfy bed, and all the rooms have a small patio. you honestly can't beat the price for this kind of location and high quality feeling stay. me and my boyfriend couldn't afford to stay in most of the other inns around mendo like heritage house down the road, but this felt just as nice and the staff was so friendly.

Really nicely remodeled, clean, quiet room. Super friendly staff and peaceful, ocean view property. If you're looking to get away and unwind at a great value this is the place to do it! I also really enjoyed the coffee... each room has a coffee maker with actual filter and ground coffee. Tasty!

But the real appeal is the views. Just unbelievably gorgeous. It's just one of those things you must do and see in person. We stayed in one of the rooms with the long shared balcony. My initial concern was privacy but it was a non-issue. Everyone was polite and friendly. No noise issues or anything. We spent most of our room time outside enjoying the views and just soaking all of the beauty in. The Little River Inn is just down the road from Mendocino, and a short 10-15 minute drive to Fort Bragg. Perfect location for what we were doing that weekend. Staff was wonderful. The real surprise of the trip was the restaurant. I normally shy away from hotel restaurants, as I prefer to sample the local cuisine. However, we decided to give it a try our first night for Dinner. I was delicious and quite popular with the locals as well. I'll be doing a separate review for the restaurant, as I strongly recommend having at least one meal there. We ended up having two...lol. Just a great stay and a definite revisit when we get the time again. If I could give the place more stars I would.

Just magnificent! There's a good sized living room, full kitchen and refrigerator, a small 4 seater dining area, a bedroom (almost entirely taken up by a queen bed) with a sliding door that opens onto a balcony and a full bathroom. I asked for decaf coffee ahead of time and that was waiting for me together with a small bottle of white wine from a local winery. There is no internet unless you connect to the property's wifi which is more than adequate - about 60 mbps in this bungalow. The bungalow temperature is controlled by a thermostat and a self-igniting gas fireplace. These are the plus-es. On the minus side, the balcony had no view to speak of at all, looking mostly at the exit road and the side of the bungalow in front of the Albion. (I think the view from the other bungalow balconies is better.) The furniture was old and very worn. The couch/ pull out bed in the living room was hard and not particularly comfortable to sit on watching TV. The biggest negative was my bathroom (but only the bathroom) was crawling with ants. When I mentioned it to the property contact they were quick to say they'll address but, unfortunately, it was time for me to leave before they could. (My fault for late notification to them). In all, it is a comfortable (not luxurious) stay in a spectacularly beautiful area at a reasonable price. It's a solid 3* accommodation in a 4-5* setting at a reasonable price.

When we come home from dinner I go to turn the light on in the porch area and it's out. So I again email the innkeeper and he responded quick and said he would have the manager of the day call me tomorrow. So I get a call from one of the owners who didn't seem shocked and was semi apologetic. This cabin was over $400 a night and I would expect a clean and safe room. I asked for a discount and was offered a discount on a future stay and I said I would not be going there again and all he said was "okay and bye" and hung up. So some other thing's wrong in this cabin, slider door to patio, lock broken so the lock is a stick. Shower head is about to come off the wall. I will post pictures of that. The entire property is very unkempt, spider webs and weeds everywhere. Not worth the price we paid.

I'll start with the biggest issue. A total lack of transparency. When we booked our multi-nite stay, there was no notice of ongoing construction on the exterior deck AND the desk clerk said nothing about it when we checked in. The noise was off and on all day, including weekends. I'm not simply referring to hammering and sawing. The crew was playing music and SINGING along...right outside our windows. When we complained about this to 3 different desk clerks, all claimed ignorance and/or that they had "no control" over the situation". Similar situation during breakfast, when we were told they were out of 2-4 items on the menu EVERY morning. Regarding the menu, the entre descriptions were generally incorrect as what we were served never matched the entre description on the menu. Update the menu! The lack of communication among and between staff was remarkable and led to missed accommodations, confirmations or simply not getting a response at all. We learned quickly that we needed to tell every single staff member that we could find about any concern or question we had. Ridiculous. Regarding staff, I will give them the benefit of the doubt and simply assume that they are struggling, greatly, obtaining and/or retaining staff. The staff seemed very poorly trained on most functions, including basic customer service. They were pleasant, but uninformed often incapable, and totally unaccountable. This is a management issue, 100%. One of my fondest memories of the Brewery Gulch Inn has always been the setting and the current management is systematically destroying it. A casual look around the property, let alone a stroll, and you will see piles of debris, construction, or otherwise, dilapidated or decaying sitting areas, unkempt landscaping, and a general lack of attention. For those of us who remember the Brewery Gulch Inn from years past, this is one of the saddest parts of my review. On the positive/neutral side, the rooms are fairly well maintained (shower fixtures, light fixtures need attention), carpet is overdue for replacement). Housekeeping is attentive and thorough. For an Inn on the Mendocino coast that's charging upwards of $800-900 per night, depending on the room and season, it's shocking the entity that owns the Brewery Gulch Inn is allowing this to happen (and after talking with some other establishments in the area, I felt like the last to know). In summary, there are many locations to choose from in the area that provide a setting with service that match the price. The Brewery Gulch Inn is not one of them. Buyer beware.
