Stopped here for a Wednesday night dinner around 7:30 pm. We were immedietaly greeted with "welcome my friends" and the vibes were very welcoming. We decided to share the steak fries, and a boil with shrimp and clams. The fries were incredible. Perfectly cooked, not too oily, and the steak and guacamole rounded out the fries well. For the boil we were recommend to go with the cajun garlic butter sauce and I'm glad we did. So flavorful yet not too heavy. It was a pound each for shrimp and clams, which were $27 a pound, and we were feeling very full by the end of dinner. I ordered the baja tacos to-go. They come with two fried fish tacos and a side salad. Ok the side salad has a simple but delicious vinegrette! This order was also so big I could've shared with another person. You would think two tacos and a small side salad is enough for one person but the tacos were HUGE! We discovered this place completely by chance--and we're so glad we did. The space is small and unassuming, but the dishes that come out of the kitchen are anything but. It has quickly become one of our favorite spots for seafood in San Francisco, especially for Dungeness crab, which is always incredibly fresh. This visit, we decided to combine two favorites. We ordered a whole Dungeness crab in their "All That and a Bag of Chips" sauce (yes, it actually comes with a bag of chips!) and added a pound of crawfish. The dish arrived generously coated in the house sauce, which was rich, bold, and impossible to resist. We ended up ordering a side of garlic bread just to soak up every last bit. To drink, we paired the meal with their house Sauvignon Blanc, which complemented the seafood perfectly. The service here is also exceptional. Ramzy is incredibly friendly, attentive, and always a pleasure to chat with, making the experience feel even more welcoming. We're usually in the Bay Area visiting family in Oakland, but we happily make the drive into San Francisco just to eat here. It's truly that good. read more

I love coming to Bernal to meet up with friends. The sun has always been out on this side of the city. It bustles with just the right amount of people, dogs, and cars, but not overwhelmingly so. This last visit was no different! My good friend made a reservation at Seafood Station for five at 12:30pm last Saturday. One of us in the group is pescatarian. This place had just what we needed - seafood and a bottle of wine to celebrate friendship and good wishes. The complimentary bread and olive oil was delicious. Some of the group shared oysters. A couple of them got steamed mussels and a couple of us got fish & chips. I also got a cup of clam chowder and I was not disappointed! I can say that everyone enjoyed their food. The service was stellar. We were checked on regularly and well taken care of. Seafood Station is not a huge space, but it is a decent size with several tables. My sister had the mussels with a side of fries. The mussels came in a nice broth with fresh tomatoes. Let me start by saying my wife has eaten here many times and really likes the food..and the many returning customers while we were there the other day is a very good sign. I had steamed mussels with fries. There were not enough mussels because they were huge and the sauce was more a broth and not at all flavorful enough. I usually love sopping up every last drop of the juice. But the really disappointing aspect of our dinner was the service. There were 3 people behind the service station. All of them need a training course on how to pay attention to paying customers. Instead they were all engrossed in private conversation with each other or with one particular customer. And one of the staff was simply intimidating, and very very loud. I suspected his behavior may have been chemically induced. Our waitress was very sweet, cheerful and helpful when we could catch her attention. But as I said a 15 minute training exercise each evening before starting work would work wonders. Like look around each customer every time you are not doing anything. And the more senior staff member was just uninterested and perhaps a little grumpy. So the food was blah, more flavor in the broth would help, and ok but at today's prices a "dinner out" has to be about more than just the food. read more

Seafood station is an incredible neighborhood joint with excellent service and fresh seafood! We ordered the boil and the steamed seafood combo for dinner. For drinks we got a bottle of wine, and for $35 it's a great deal! For both entrees the seafood was cooked perfectly and everything was very well seasoned. I love how they used chicken broth because it added more flavor and gave it more depth. The boil was delicious and I wanted to dip everything in it! Solid competitor (if not better) of Sotto Mare Hands down one of the best seafood spots in San Francisco. It's a little farther out, which I think keeps it off most people's radar--but that just adds to the hidden gem feel. We made the drive out and it was so worth it. We were blown away by the food. We ordered the shrimp, mussels, and clams in a lemon-based soup dish, plus a half crab and crawfish broil with the mixed seasoning and spicy crab--it was TO DIE FOR. Everything was incredibly fresh, perfectly seasoned, and packed with flavor. Honestly, it gives Sotto Mare a run for its money--and in my opinion, it was better. The ambiance was more relaxed, there was no wait, and the staff couldn't have been more friendly. They even helped us taste through all the wines so we could pick our favorite bottle. We ended up loving the Pinot Grigio, the Chardonnay was also great, but the Sauvignon Blanc wasn't our favorite. I wanted a seafood boil so went to the closest place to me. The taste was not as I expected but it was still pretty yummy. I expected it to taste like a Louisiana style seafood boil (it didn't unfortunately). It took about 20 minutes for my food to arrive. The BEST CIOPPINO I've ever had! The tomato base is so flavorful with lots of mild spices, onions, shallots, and herbs. The seafood was cooked perfectly! I like my mussels and clams a little undercooked but the shrimp, fish and crab was absolutely perfect. Even high end restaurants overcook their seafood, especially the shrimp. The cioppino was excellent here. My husband tried the clam chowder which he said was the best he'd ever had as well! Not too thick and very flavorful. He rated his fish and chips a 10/10! Across the board this family owned restaurant blew us away. The owners took our order and served our food. They were very kind and attentive. The restaurant itself is spacious and very clean. We ordered a bowl of clam chowder. Enough for four of us. Cajun cod, fish and chips, mussels and ciopinno. The complementary bread went well with my clam chowder and the mussels. The cilantro chorizo add a bit of spice and sour the sauce was delightful. I tried a bite of the ciopinno with the cheese bread. The sauce was delicious dipping with the garlic bread. I think the best dishes out of the four was the mussels and ciopinno. But we will be back to try some additional dishes. read more

My hesitation was misplaced... It was Delicious!! The creamy deliciousness is rich and flavorful. I also ordered the trout, but the pot pie was filling on it's on. The inside is small & cozy, like a neighborhood cafe - indeed several people stopped by for takeout who seemed to know the staff well. Only 10 or so small tables, and fairly close together. We were warmly greeted, my questions quickly answered. We had the clam chowder pot pie, fish & chips, and crab legs (more like a whole small crab!) in amazing broth (your choice of flavors). Everything was fresh & yummy. The clam chowder is quite rich (heavy cream?) with a puff pastry top. The bread is homemade or made nearby, yum. Our neighbors also really enjoyed their meal - we have to try the crab cakes next time. Sadly we had no room for dessert, so I never got ask what the creme brulee flavor is all about. After seeing the good reviews of Seafood Station, I decided to give it a try tonight and I have to say I was disappointed in both the food and the service. I ordered a half pound of the snow crab legs with corn. I asked for mild garlic and butter sauce. It was very spicy and the corn was already saturated in it, so even though they brought me a mild side of the sauce (after I flagged down the bored looking host - our waiter was nowhere to be found for most of our meal. Never asking us how it was, if we needed anything else to drink, etc.) it was too late to save it. The crab was stringy and there wasn't much of it, the shells seemed rubbery and the meat atrophied. I am only giving 3 stars because my dining companion enjoyed her steelhead trout. I am not rushing back any time soon. 6/28 - I got a quick and thoughtful response from the owner - thanks! My husband and I ordered food for takeout and we really truly wanted to like this place. The fish for the fish and chips was really good, I've never had battered fish like that before. However, the fries were very mediocre and somewhat similar to room temp McDonald's fries. The cheeseburger was decent, but super thick, which is sometimes the preference. But all I could taste was meat, none of the other toppings on the burger. I also requested extra aoili sauce on the side, but did not recieve it. I'm not sure if they misunderstood the request but it just didn't get added. The last thing we ordered was a slice of the key lime pie. It was terrible. The slice was tiny, and the flavor of the pie was strange. Like something had gone bad. It was almost as if it had blue cheese in it. And the crust was strange. I don't have the words to explain it but I've never had anything like it and I had to spit it back out and toss it. The food was not worth the $60+ paid, sadly. As a present from my brother, I went here to celebrate my birthday with my family. I grew up in the 7th largest lobstering village on the east coast. I used to fish, dig clams and pull mussels for dinner. The ladies of the yacht club including my mother were renowned for baked clam chowder. This restaurant rivals clam bakes on the beach. Their food is fit for President of the USA. Their clam chowder pot pie is the best I've had since I was a boy. It is thinner than traditional baked chowder in a casserole at the yacht club, the New England standard that restaurants just cannot rival. But this clam chowder's flavor surpasses even that! Dip your bread in the broth and suddenly you are on the beach! The crust is perfect! The Cioppino rivals any cioppino a real Italian restaurant in Boston's North End can serve. Dip your bread in the broth and be flooded with fond memories of Mrs. Salvatore's kitchen! (Mrs. Salvatore was a legendary cook in my home town.) But the best was the baked cod my wife ate. Atlantic Cod is now rare but was the best fish you could bake. Seafood Station has their recipe down. Words are not enough to describe such succulence, cooked to perfection fish in a sauce that makes you happy just to taste it! I grew up on real Atlantic Cod (Not the Pacific Cod or Atlantic Pollock that has replaced it in restaurants) I tasted this and think it is the best white fish meat I've tasted since the last real Atlantic Cod I caught 5 decades ago. Everyone at the table declared their meal to be the best they've had in a restaurant in years. Ramsey is a sweetheart. He told us about the tequila shop next door. He is so warm and friendly! The food was so good none of us could stop till nothing was left on the table. I don't remember the previous time that happened. To savor the aftertaste, I went to bed without brushing my teeth. A couple of weeks before Thanksgiving, we went to Seafood Station. It was a catastrophe getting there. We attempted uber and the wait was to be forever, then we thought how about lyft and it turned out to be even a longer wait. Traditional cabs seemed to be hiding. We looked at each other and returned home to pick up our itty bitty San Francisco car, the Fiat. We have had it forever. We drove over and mysteriously found an immediate parking space. Walked into the restaurant and had a lovely dinner. We were both into fish stew and french bread. We experienced zero price gauge and zero negative experience once we picked up our car. Maybe next time we will plan to take the bus. The employees were very nice to us and since the holidays were coming we made an effort to be generous with our tip because our dinner was perfect. Was craving oysters and came across this place and it was such a cozy vibe! The owner is super nice and accommodating. They have happy hour in the afternoon so we got oysters for $2/pp which is so worth cause it was really tasty too. We ordered a couple items besides that like their vinaigrette salad which was refreshing, their calamari that had a good batter to it and the clam boil which was flavorful and paired well with the bread. I love this little restaurant serving Southern-style seafood in Bernal Heights. The interior looks a bit old (especially the bathroom!), but it has a charming vintage vibe. The service is friendly and welcoming. My friend and I tried the classic shellfish pot with corn and potatoes. The potatoes and corn soaked up the sauce and were very delicious. While the portion for this seemed a bit small, the seafood, especially the snow crab leg, tasted fresh, which is key for a seafood restaurant. Our other friend tried the fish and chips and really liked it too. I wasn't the biggest fan of the Cajun sauce as I found it a bit too zesty. But my friend really liked it. Came in around 730 with friend. It wasn't full probably about 6 ppl. They only have 8 tables I believe. We ordered: 1/2 dozen oysters-fresh briny and sweet from Baja CA Mussel chorizo lime- so great! Must order could have used a bit more mussel or bigger mussel. Broth was so good I had to take it to-go Clam chower- thick and creamy. Full of flavor. I even put some mussel chorizo broth in there Shrimp and Baja tacos.- Shrimp taco was warm and packed with pickled cabbage, guac, crema, flavorful shrimp. Honestly I took the Baja tacos to go. Didn't want to get too full but looks taco licious! $90 total for 2 The place is small. So it might get packed at times. We were able to get the 2 seater window in the front. Enjoy their happy hour. We missed it by 10 mins. The bathroom is upstairs with a slight step. I'd recommend some safety grip tape in front of the bathroom and front door. Bernal heights go figure. I have had sea food in high end establishments that didn't come close to our experience at Seafood Station. Super casual little place with family owned pride in everything they do. From the service being impeccable to the food they put in front of you. We had the Fish and Chips. Best fish I think I've ever had. The raw oysters we perfect and FRESH. The shrimp cocktail was tasty with sweet jumbo shrimp. The Chowder Pot Pie was delicious. And finally the seafood boil was done in the most amazing and flavorful sauce. Just absolutely wonderful.
