So I've been dealing with some back pain and pressure for a few weeks now and tried acupuncture in KTown & it helped but the stiffness didn't go away. Every time I sit down or use the restroom, I'd be stiff getting back up and my body naturally leans to one side so I looked crooked when I washed my hands. I saw this place on IG actually. Their promotion was such a great deal it seemed too good to be true but I inquired anyway. They were fast in reaching out to me via text and I made an appt. Got here last Monday and my son was with me but they were so kid-friendly my son loved their staff and office. Even the Doctor was super cool with him. This is my new favorite chiropractor office! I went to another place but he was always so booked and parking wasn't ideal so I'm so glad I found you guys! This place is not even worth considering especially after hearing terrible reviews. When requesting a simple refund for an introductory session, the inept staff took 4 months to make a refund. They rarely returned calls and never lived up to their promise of sending a check. After seeing Dr. Dave for a few months I wasn't really happy with his office setup. They have 5-8 patients there at a time and he hops from one to another to offer treatment. The process takes about an hour every time, by the time you get in, wait, get treated, and leave - which is a lot of time considering he's only with you for about 10mins total. Dr. Dave is a nice person and a great doctor, however I felt like at times he was a little pushy about how many appointments I had to fulfill per week. I decided to break my "contract" with him because it just wasn't working and boy am I paying for it. If you break your contract then he backtracks and charges you full price for every appointment you went to. Moral of the story? Don't break your contract, or find a more flexible chiropractor. I will say this, if you have the time and patience go for it, he cares about his patients and has a good following which is why I gave him four stars. I was very disappointed and expected alot more for 39.00 , I don't think the decompression machine was even turned on ,there was absolutely nothing, I asked and they said yes ,that they had to keep it at at low level. Went in for a shoulder issue unfortunately my shoulder was never even touched with one finger by any of the doctors. You'd think they'd try and diagnose the issue before coming up with a plan of action to fix it. Nope straight to an adjustment along with stem treatment. Treatment for what though? The issue was never figured out or even given the effort to figure out. Sadly these guys just try and book you for more appointments and more treatments so that can make money off of you. I purchased $100 Groupon for 3 adjustments and an x-ray, and I'm sad to say I had a very bad experience and I cannot believe this place tried to rip me off. At my 1st appointment I received an x-ray, but the chiropractor could not discuss the results with me until my next appointment because he said he "had a feeling the results were not very good, so I should have my spouse there to discuss payment plans and for moral support"? How could the chiropractor know that my results were going to be bad and that I was going to need a whole payment plan setup if he hadn't reviewed my results yet? He also said that my back was in really bad condition and therefore "could not perform an adjustment." He then walked me over to the tech, and she hooked me up with an icepack and the electrical stimulator machine, not sure what it's called? Appointment #2, I decided not to bring my spouse because I still felt it was super weird that the chiropractor expressed huge concern for him to be there. I showed up solo and he jumped straight into my X-ray results by telling me I had an x-ray "of a 50 year old person" and that I had "the crap shoot of genetics." I was immediately bummed and frightened, tons of emotions were going on in my head. He said I needed to start immediately coming twice a week for 8 weeks and that my insurance would not cover the first 8 weeks of treatment and I would have to pay $100 ($200/week) per treatment out of pocket. I explained that I have amazing insurance (they cover acupuncture) but he said without a doubt, that he was 100% sure it's not covered and refused to check. I told him immediately that I would not pay up front for services, and he said I would miss out on the discount. Then he told I needed to watch an 8 minute video? Okay...sure I will sit here and watch a video I thought? He came in to the room to check on me and could tell I was not interested in the video, so he ended it early. I asked again about the back adjustment I paid for, but he said that my back was in too bad of condition so as an alternative, he hooked me up to their decompression machine and told me not to worry because "they were not going to charge me for the 5 minutes." What, um thanks I guess? They immediately scheduled me for my treatment plan to begin the following week. I decided to google "chiropractor scams" because none of this felt right. Everything I found about chiro scams included: scare tactics, bringing in family members so they are also distraught and therefore make poor financial decisions with you, and watching a video! OMG, this place did all of those things! I called to tell them I was going to get a second opinion and asked if I could have MY x-rays sent over to my primary doctor, but they were unable to because they were not digital. I decided to get x-rays by a Board Certified Radiologist and she said I had zero issues with my bones! I was relieved! I went and even got a 3rd opinion from a Medical Doctor with a Board Certification in Pain Management and Anesthesiology and he said there were also no issues! In the end I did not go back to this clinic. I paid $100 for an X-ray that I could not have transferred anywhere and I received 0 out of 3 back adjustments. I feel like such a sucker! It makes me sad that there are people out there who want to scam you like this! Please do your research. Good luck! read more

From my first visit, 2 years ago, I've always felt like Dr. Dave and I were partners, working together on my own wellness. He places a lot of emphasis on education so that I understand my situation and what we are doing together to address the root of the problems. Throughout the year, I take regular re-exams and x-rays so that we can monitor improvements. I have had several issues related to my scoliosis, including a compressed disc causing sciatic pain when I run long distances (one of my favorite things to do!). After having such a great experience with my chronic lower pain treatment I decided to take my 98yr old grandmother in to Seal Beach Chiropractic Center for an evaluation. She complained about having a lot of discomfort thru out all her body and her mobility was very limited. After her XRays and evaluations, Dr. Dave recommended the decompression therapy as well. But he suggested a three session trial to make sure she would be able to handle it and to see if she has any positive or negative response. After the the FREE trial we immediately started seeing improvements. She was moving better, had less body discomforts, and for the first time in a long time had well rested sleep. Along with the decompression therapy she would also get adjusted by Dr. Josh. He is always so gentle with her but still giving her results. She loves getting treated by him. I have been seeing Dr. Dave on and off for 6 years. I am now back, but after leaving the area a few years ago, I was forced to see other chiropractors in my new city. Because of my experience with Dr. Dave, I was able to tell the difference between the quacks and the good guys out there. Dr. Dave is the best back doctor ever! He makes it a point to educate each and every client on the benefits of chiropractic care, and to make sure they understand their care plan, and why or how their back is injured, and how he's going to fix it. Other doctors in my new city were amazed at MY knowledge of chiropractic benefits and the dangers of subluxations, spinal curvatures, spurs on the discs and so on..Other doctors DO NOT go into this much detail to ensure YOU know exactly what they are doing to you. I really learned something about general health and arthritis from seeing Dr. Dave. I went from being very fearful of adjustments to CRAVING them in my new town. There is no way that Dr. Dave is making up excuses for you to come in for more visits. The proof is in the pudding; when he reviews all your X-rays (right in front of you) you can actually see the difference in your bones and it's easy to see the progress you are making with your Chiropractic care. Visiting Seal Beach Chiropractic is like joining a "care club!". It's an open environment (love it or leave it) where the jovial Dr. Dave adjusts several patients at once in group sessions. He even gives "pop quizzes" to his "chiropractic students" about their progress, and while Bob is "icing," Sara's on the electro stimulator, and as he adjusts Mike, Betty is working on her leg stretches, and he manages to make everyone comfortable and relaxed, but also respects everyones privacy at the same time. If you need to discuss anything about your condition, he will talk to you in the private adjustment room, otherwise, a visit here is kinda fun! VERY DISAPPOINTED in how Dr. David is EXPLOITING me! He took advantage of my circumstance and is trying to manipulate me into paying more than what the contract clearly states in black and white and has the nerve to file suit without even responding to my numerous letters disputing his fraudulent charges! For one, there is no indication on the contract that states what type of services are being performed, what type of equipment is being used and that there is an EXTRA charge for the use of certain equipment or anything else. It clearly states $54 office visits. Secondly, I was matter-of-factly told at the end of the appointment I deemed as my last appointment after he told me that I will have to be charged for the use of decompression machine without being told how much EXTRA that would be! Not to mention that none of the decompressions went past two minutes and were wrongly calibrated!!! Making me feel WORSE than when I started. I am a cash paying client (without insurance). Surely, anything EXTRA would have to be clearly stated upfront and approved. Should I have known upfront that I would be charged this EXTRA (not indicated on the contract) expense; I would have not allowed that method of therapy. I have unfortunately resorted to filing a complaint with the Board and will respond to suit. He and his staff were nice HOWEVER, his business practice is deceiving, manipulating and fraudulent. I have been a patient for 3 months now and my experience could not be better. Dr. Dave does an excellent job in explaining how his treatments are healing you. As an ironman triathlete I had many nagging injuries that would flare up from time to time. Since I have started in December the injuries have been non existed to greatly reduced. Dr. Vigil is beyond amazing. I've been seeing him since I was in a car accident in 2001. I cannot tell you how much has he helped me through the years.
