    Band and drinks

Amazing night out ! Me and my lady wanted a cute outing with live music and the Ron Weinstein trio along with the Sea Monster Lounge delivered. The drinks were made quick with no fuss, my girlfriend really enjoyed her dirty martini, and I my gin n tonic. Thanks to the staff and band for a memorable night. 5 stars

I like this place. The last time I went I paid a cover for the first time but the funk group was so deserving of the money. I danced all night! Drinks are priced fairly and the bartenders are on it. Even though it's loud from live music, it's still a good place to get together and chat.

Went last night because it said there was live music. Not only was there live music but I had one of the best drinks of my life made by the owner called a Spanish coffee! I saw him make one for someone else and he lit it on fire and said it was made with livid so I knew I had to have one! The atmosphere was amazing, bathroom was clean! And I loved all the little details of the art on the walls and paintings! Definitely recommend coming here and at least getting the Spanish coffee!

Super underrated! Food: good! And not overpriced. Burgers are all made from grassfed beef. Yum! And best of all hand cut potatoes fries on the side. Rainier can $4. Good place to come and chill. Next time will come for live jazz brunch. Also the Mexican dishes looked delicious!

Late night out after dinner. Stopped in for some live music. Very low lighting inside with some spot lights on the band. They played nice Jazz & Blues music while we had some Jack Daniel's with friends. It's alittle small venue but as we left after an hour, it started getting crowded.

    Seattle vibe!

It's much bigger after the remodel, but has no airflow. It's like a sauna on a busy night.

I've gone to Seamonster a few times now. I love it. It's a hip, casual place to catch a few drinks and some good local music.

Ok, music is great, 1/31/2017. Bartender was an ass. Sorry, have been here many times. But tonight, your staff disappointed me.

Took almost an hour to get seated, but we were able to grab some drinks from the coffee shop on the first floor of the hotel, which was a nice option. Once we got upstairs it was gorgeous! Lots of great seating options both inside and out. The views of downtown Seattle and Bellevue were EPIC. The staff were very friendly as well! I have to say, for the price the food and drinks weren't at the level I expected. We ordered nachos, crab Rangoon dip, and pretzel bites. The nachos were probably our favorite, but they weren't anything special for $22. The Rangoon dip was mostly cream cheese and barely had any flavor. I think they were depending on the nori chips to bridge the gap, but those didn't taste the greatest. Finally the pretzel bites were okay, but nothing I couldn't get at another gastropub for a much lower price. The drinks were fine, but not that strong. I ordered the Glacier Peak which was beautiful and refreshing. We'll be back for the views and maybe a couple of cocktails, but I'd say if you're bar hopping, spend money on food somewhere else in the area.

Originally opened in 1934, the Blue Moon carries the kind of atmosphere you cannot recreate -- walls covered in decades of music, art, stickers, photographs, and stories. A dimly lit room packed with musicians, writers, artists, and people who genuinely appreciate creativity in its raw form. Throughout the night, the stage moved between live music, poetry, and performances from local artists while the crowd filled the tavern from the bar to the stage floor. Places like this remind me why independent art still matters. As an author traveling all over the United States -- and as someone who lived in the Seattle area for 2 1/2 years -- standing on that stage reading poetry from Purple Rose in a venue with this much history behind it was really something special. What I loved most was how welcoming the environment was. This is a very LGBTQ-friendly, art-friendly space where people genuinely support one another. If you are brand new to open mics or nervous about sharing your work for the first time, this is the kind of place where you will absolutely be shown kindness and encouragement. There were so many talented musicians, poets, and performers there, and you could really feel the appreciation for creativity throughout the room. The setup of the tavern itself is awesome. The stage and seating area wrap around the bar in almost a U-shape, so you can really choose your own vibe for the night. If you want to stay close to the performances and music, there is a dance floor and table area near the stage. If you want something more relaxed, you can hang back near the bar, have a drink, and still enjoy the atmosphere without being directly in the middle of everything. They also have a full bar, arcade games, board games, books to read, and even a small library on the shelves throughout the tavern. Somewhere inside, you may even find a signed copy of Purple Rose that I left hidden and dedicated to the historic Blue Moon itself. Beautiful evening with wonderful people. If you are ever in the area and have a skill you would love to share, go share your art. Find your copy of Purple Rose at JamesVThePoet.com

I just had what is literally the worst bar experience I have ever had in my life at the Blue Moon…read moreTavern. I, my wife, and her friend stopped by for New Year's Drinks around 6, and about 6:30 or so, made the mistake of asking Tim Duvall, the clearly drunken before 7:00 PM owner of the establishment, whether outside food can be brought into the bar. This led to his regaling us with an extended and utterly unsolicited history of the bar. He then invited himself to sit with us, halfway into the seat before slurring a "Can I sit down?" to insert himself into our booth. We then moved to another unsolicited conversation, this time about politics. Now, to be clear - I have no doubt that I and a sober Tim Duvall probably agree on most of our politics. This did not stop him from berating me as I agreed with his point, loudly escalating and yelling as I tried to agree with him (again... to be clear, I DIDN'T disagree his political view) until he stood and began yelling that I was kicked out. As I stood to talk on him, he became VERY comfortable with putting his hands on me, grabbing my sweatshirt to move me. I was NOT about to challenge that as a Black man new to Seattle that doesn't know how the police would handle things. I need to be very specific about how quickly this man felt comfortable touching me, grabbing my sweater to "drag" me. This is the step that is WAY over the line. I would genuinely like to recommend this place, as I'm looking for bars that offer sugar cane soda. Drunken ownership- in the early evening in New Year's - that feels comfortable being handsy with Black folk is far too much. AVOID at all costs.
