Food is not even good. The service is worse. The bartender/waiter seems like he doesn't even want to be there, his customer service needs improvement. I had Shrimp Alfredo and it was ok. I ordered the Traditional Cheesecake that was supposed to be served with strawberries and whipped cream...all I got was a plain old cheesecake that was dry.....this place is only surviving because it is located inside the Marriott. read more

I was staying at the Marriott for a business trip and came into Sean O'Casey's on the later end of the evening and ordered the NY strip. The service was excellent with a special mention to the bartender Paola who went out of her way to make sure the steak was cooked perfectly. The other bartender working with her also had spectacular service and conversation with guests around me, but unfortunately I did not get his name. The manager, I think her name is Jen (apologies if that's incorrect), was very sweet and accommodating. Overall great service and food and will be returning if I travel here for business again! read more

Stayed over 10 days and almost everyday they closed 45 t0 60 minutes before they were to close. Prices are ridiculous and they do not cater to hotel guests they seem to want to leave hours before they are supposed to. Dring my stay there were many wedding guests arriving well before last call closing only to be told they were closed. Do not advertise hours you don't ever adhere to. Many weddings book there guests here to have a good time and closing well before you are supposed to is unprofessional and un-Marriott like. Shame on management. read more

This review is based on one visit. This restaurant is located at the Park Ridge Marriott. I met a colleague here for dinner and drinks. This place has a decent beer menu and has a really nice wooden bar. On to the food... I ordered the Buffalo Wings, Filet Mignon and a few beers. The Buffalo Wings had lots of flavor due to the sauce. The Filet Mignon had no seasoning whatsoever; it was so bland. I let the staff know my concerns about the flavorless filet and she explained to me that it is served that way intentionally. My beers were good as I ordered familiar brands. Overall, it was a nice looking place with decent beer list and appetizers. Don't order any steak here. The service was OK and the restaurant was clean. read more

$17 for a burger I don't mind the price if it was good, but someone needs to teach their cook that medium well is not the same as rare. The only part of my burger that was cooked as the outer sides. It was bloody red inside. I had ordered it to go in my room which also did not have a microwave so I couldn't even nuke it cooked. If I wasn't so tired from a long trip I'd go back and have them make me another one but it's 10 pm and I'm too tired. Also I ordered a martini that cost as much as the burger which was more water than vodka. There's a bit of nice places in the area. I went to this place years ago and it was fantastic, packed to the brim, great food, great service. Despite living a few minutes away from this place, I completely forgot about it...until a few weeks ago. On the second visit the place is just awful. The menu was completely different, and the service was awful. I was there with a friend, we were the only two people in the joint for lunch service. The beer tasted as if it was watered down or stale, I'm not sure which...both probably. I had gotten the fish and chips and it came out burnt. How do you overcook food when there's no rush? Stick with the beer and you'll be fine. The food is nothing to write home about. The atmosphere in the pub is fun, and the bartender, Johnson, was very good to us. However, it was quite understaffed, since he was the one running in and out of the hotel to serve us when we wanted to sit outside to eat. I felt badly for him. Also, the food wasn't great. My grilled fish was a bit rubbery and my beer cheese soup was pretty much tasteless. Like I said, great for a nightcap if you want to sit in the bar. This restaurant is in a Marriott situated in a business park, and it is definitely managed to focus on the business week and business traveler. We were there on a Saturday evening, so the restaurant was almost empty. I started with the potato leek soup, a house specialty, and it was particularly good - very creamy with good flavor (potato leek soup can often be bland). That raised my expectations for the rest of the meal. My wife and I shared the salt and pepper calamari and banana peppers with wasabi aioli and marinara dipping sauces. This was also pretty good. Note: there was a lot more wasabi than aioli in that particular dip. For the entree, I had fish and chips. The fish was fine - a little wet/slimy between the fish and batter, but the batter was crisp and the Cod had good taste. The chips were typical steak fries from a bag. My wife had the glazed salmon with haricot verts and fingerling potatoes, which were all good. Also of note, the kitchen was very accommodating of my wife's Alpha-Gal Syndrome food allergies, ensuring everything was cooked in a clean pan with no dairy, gluten, or mammal product cross-contamination. The bill (including taxes), with two glasses of wine and a gin and tonic, came to ~$97. Regarding the service, there was only the bartender waiting tables. Thankfully, he was on top of everything. The manager occasionally coming through to help. Overall: Good, but not worth the price unless you are on a business trip (i.e., you have limited time and someone else is paying). read more

Really don't have much that's great to say about Sean O'Casey's except that it's convenient if you're staying in the hotel. Except for not, because I could've walked to a restaurant in NY to buy food and gotten back in less time than it took to get helped here. The issue, in my opinion, is that they're understaffed - as the waiters who ignore us do always seem to be busy and overwhelmed, nevertheless I'd like to be acknowledged when you're walking by even if you're too busy to help me at that moment. The food is... fine. The entrees are very expensive, as are the drinks, though some of the other items are relatively typical prices for the area. Unfortunately the two restaurants in the hotel have the same menu now, before they at least used to be different (so there was more variety). Warning: the vegetable wrap is cold (and kind of gross), I asked for it without cheese once and still got it, and they said it'd come with sweet potato fries and they gave me regular fries. read more

I think we have had the worst dinner in the area here. It is touted as an Irish pub but is in fact a poorly run, overpriced hotel restaurant. We did come in a group but the place was so disorganized it was horrendous. The waiter advised the heating was not working and the place would get extremely hot and then ice cold. He advised it has been like this for months and not working. So you are sitting there freezing then boiling then freezing as it switch from heat to A/C. The prices were first of all ridiculous, $8 for bottle domestic beer, most pub food was $26-29 for corned beef and cabbage and Shepard pie. It took forever to get service and waited extremely long for the food. Two ordered dinners that came out ice cold, the corned beef ( sliced lunch meat) come out from the refrigerator and placed on warm cabbage, the steak looked disgusting and was cold as well. They sent the food back and the manager said they would make a new one. A few minutes later the same exact food came back scalding obviously put in microwave to reheat. The rest of the group ordered burgers but when they came out after the rest of the food, the waiter realized he ordered them wrong and all five went back to kitchen. 20 Minutes later the food arrived again. It was just becoming a joke to see what else they could screw up. Yes they did. If you are stuck at this hotel and need an expensive beer then go in, otherwise order takeout. Nice Irish pub. Great for lunch with a new lunch special daily. Salad was huge. For dinner, I got the Filet and it was cooked well with a nice mash potato side. The food was terrible. The hotel is very nice and when I looked at the menu and prices (very expensive) i thought the food would be good. I had the bang bang shrimp appetizer. One glass of wine and a cheeseburger. I had to send back the shrimp appetizer due to the shrimp being undercooked. I got my plate back and it seemed like they just rewarmed it. I could not finish it. Then my burger came and again due to the price it was not worth it. It tasted and looked like a frozen burger patty from the supermarket. My bill came to $42. I have had better meals at the local friendly's. I should have known better it was a Saturday night and I was the only one there. Yes hotel bars are pricey... I guess we should have known. But to be an Irish bar and have flat Guinness... Just not right.. And at 8$ a pint! The prices are like high end club mark up prices. Insane. I left my fiancé to go to the hotel room and he said they ordered drinks for the groom and friends.. Prices were double if not more than an average establishment. I've stayed at the park ridge marriott numerous times and can honestly say I've never had anything but great food and great service at their restaurant Sean O'Casey's. I've had salads, soups, burgers and sandwiches, and the consistency of the food has always been on point. The beer selection is pretty solid as well. Looking forward to returning soon. read more

Stuck at the Park Ridge Marriott on an icy,cold winters evening and didn't feel like getting in the car looking for dinner. Sean O"caseys irish Pub was our only dining option and it ended up a pleasant experience. It appears to be the type of place that you'll order a burger or a salad just to be "safe" but our energetic waitress highly recommended the sausage rigatoni and the shepherds pie and my wife and I were both pleasantly surprised. both were decent sized portions and very tasty. I had an above average onion soup for an appetizer...wife had a salad. had a below average manhattan cocktail that just didn't taste "right". for $12..i was extremely disappointed. This restaurant is located in the Park Ridge Marriott. The food is pretty good, but the service is super super slow. There was literally no one in the place for lunch and it still took us about 1 hour to order, get served and eat. I got the tomato and blue cheese soup with a half order of the Cuban sandwich. My friend had the turkey club. Everything was pretty good. I wish my soup was a bit hotter, but no big deal (especially since it was about 96 degrees out that day). Oh and the staff is extremely nice and helpful. They will go out of your way to make sure you have a good expereince. read more

Had a business meeting in the area and met a few gents for a presentation review and quick lunch. The lobby of the Marriott was very comfortable, free internet and we dropped in to Sean O'Casey's and had a surprisingly great lunch. 45 minutes to get a chicken breast with asparagus and when it was finally served it looked like it was the most pre-packaged meal I have ever seen. Asparagus was barely warm, pretty sure it had been frozen for 12 months and the chicken breast was as rubbery as they come. I am at the Marriott for 10 days. This pub is only open Friday and Saturday. I was pretty disappointed to find out that when it finally opened after a work week of eating the side bar food, the "Irish pub" uses the same menu. They serve food. Really, that's about all that is worth saying about this place. Marriott, or a franchisee, aptly identified that with all the German auto-makers headquartered here along with a few other major companies having offices here, they just need to meet basic standards of being a restaurant. A pub in a Marriott? What would you expect? Average food, average service. If this place were not in a major hotel, it would probably fail. If this hotel had a proper restaurant, it might do better business. I dined here once, but will be going out the rest of the evenings I am here. Mostly harmless, but there are lots of average restaurants near here that are less expensive and more engaging. The wife and I have been coming to this Marriott for ages, and we love Sean O'Casey's. We come to this restaurant whether or not we're staying at this hotel...we just can't get enough of it. I tend to order burgers and chicken sandwiches here, and my better half loves their salmon, as well as their salads-throw in some grilled chicken and she's smitten. Well, we will be back before ya know it for some tasty grub and cold drinks. read more
