This place was terrible. The service was terrible we asked for water about 5 times and it never came. I ordered a chicken sandwich with only one piece of bread so it is more of chicken toast. The veggie doesn't even have a patty of anything it just vegetables in between bread with cheese. The chicken tenders are more of just grilled chicken on top of fries when you think of chicken tenders it breaded and fried but honestly it just looked like steam chicken or boiled. The burger tasted like nothing the only thing you could taste was the bread and it just tasted like sesame seeds. Also most of the food there was not filling at all we went to another place to eat and it was a lot better. We went for the view but they put us in the back so i had a view of a wall. If you get a good seat you might have a view but the food isn't good and neither is the service. read more

My dad and I are on vacation. We came here on Saturday morning as they were opening and the breakfast was excellent! Alex was also amazing...some of the best service we've experienced in Australia! Although he was alone for the first hour or so and had about 6-8 tables both inside and outside (I know how tough this can be seeing as how I'm in the industry back home) he was still very kind and attentive! Thank you so much to the chef for the wonderful food and to Alex again for the awesome service. We are sure to come back soon!! read more

Searock Grill is a great place for outdoor dining from a view/location perspective. It's right at Circular Quay in Sydney. Good cocktails here. I had an Australian beef filet, which was very flavorful and tender. The Bearnaise sauce that accompanied it was good, too. Pricing here is a little too high, though, especially given the slow service. (They brought me an incorrect item, and then it took a while to flag down the waitress, and then almost 10 minutes to get the right item.) read more

We loved this spot! The outside patio had awesome people watching. Started off with the trio of dips with bread. The sundried tomato dip was the stand out. Next up were our entrees: I ordered the roast chicken salad with crispy chips on the side. The hubs opted for the more exciting beef tenderloin and three prawns and side of crispy chips. He loved his meal and looked small at first but filled his belly up. My salad was excellent. The roast chicken was moist and the dressing on the salad was light. Ended the meal with the white and dark chocolate mousse which was decadent. I seriously cant get over how delicious it was. Sure this place is touristy and the prices are high but good luck finding something cheaper Sydney. Great way to wind down after a day walking around the Opera House and Harbor. read more

GREAT people watching venue, especially if your on the patio. Unfortunately, if you happen to be there when there's not a lot of other folks on the patio, the seagulls conspire to make it look like Hitchcock's "Birds", so I retreated to indoors at 4 pm. I'm thinking that it hit it at shift change, so it's all my fault, but my bone-in ribeye came out well done rather than mooing. Wait staff was great, very friendly, but have to say two-legged views earned this restaurant the third star. read more

I do not usually review badly, but I cannot help myself this time. I have been to Searock on a few occasions and the food and service has been tops. I order the salt and pepper squid plus a cocktail and both are always exceptional. Today at 3pm I noticed the menu was a little different and that was just the beginning. The salt and pepper squid came out 15 minutes before i got a drink which normally might not have been a huge dilemma except that the squid was extremely oily and near unpalatable and since neither of the drink had arrived, I had nothing to help cut the grease. Some pieces of the squid had not been cleaned properly, so i was faced with the unpleasant task of picking out hard cartilage from my mouth. The watermelon and mint cooler was filled with seeds and large chunks of watermelon, making it impossible to drink with a straw, so I had to pick out the seeds with a knife and could not finish the cocktail as I did not have a spoon! I am unsure as to weather the owner has changed or the staff, but I will unfortunately not be returning to this ideally located restaurant which in the past has been a 'go to' restaurant for my friends and myself. read more

The waitresses were great and super helpful . The bartenders were very rude and didn't have pleasing faces when help was needed. The food was very good, but service was a bit slow . A lot of attitude from the male workers. The location of the restaurant is very nice with a great view . read more

What a disappointment. Visiting from Melbourne we were looking for a restaurant for breakfast that would allow us to soak up the beauty of Sydney. When our meals arrived we could not believe what was placed in frount of us. My son received rubbery poached eggs on dry toast. My baked eggs were dry, tasteless and required me chisel it off the dish. If this is an example of the food on offer I would not recommend it to anyone. Sydney has a great reputation for excellent food, but this restaurant can only be described as an embarrassment to such an iconic location. read more

Very average and certainly over priced, fish and ships too greasy while the barramundi came with an awful sauce. Staff was friendly and views are great but that does not make up for the food. read more

We visited here for Saturday lunch after a show at the Opera House. The menu read well, albeit expensive, and it's in a great location. We had Wagyu beef burgers. Greasy, tasteless, poorly presented, with lousy service to boot. All topped off with an unexpected 10% weekend service fee. My kids (8 and 10 and big burger-and-fries fans) only ate half their burger and left most of their fries. They'd have rather gone hungry. We won't be returning. read more

Although the waiters are friendly and polite. The ingredients are the only part that makes a meal at this place. The level of quality in cooking was below par and to add further insult a charge of $6.50 for tap-water is added to the bill (something illegal to do in Australia). Our group of 5 just left the Sydney Opera house after seeing The Merry Widow, and we arrived here right at closing time. The manager checked with the kitchen staff, and graciously agreed to allow us to order. The food was truly excellent, and the staff could not have been nicer to us. Thank you! read more

Two stars only. One is for the view, the other is for the food. We were seated promptly outside on a Sunday evening. All of the outdoor heaters were on, except for the last two near our table. I didn't notice this until it started to get a little cooler outside. Our drinks and oysters came quickly, however our steaks took about a half an hour to arrive. Once we started eating, the waitress checked back with us. We asked if someone could please turn on the heater that was next to our table. Our food was still warm at this time. We never saw her again until ALL of our food was cold as ice from the breeze off of the water, and we wanted our check. There was never an opportunity to request the heater again. She never asked if we wanted additional drinks (iced tea) so we were sucking on ice through most of the meal. We sat staring at our ice cold food waiting for our check for at least another 15 minutes while she waited on other tables around us. It was NOT a busy night, so, no excuses. When we mentioned all the above to the manager upon payment of our $200 dinner bill, he said "you should've asked her again for the heater" and in regard to only being served one nonalcoholic drink throughout the entire stay, he said "we don't give free refills." No one mentioned the word "free" throughout the conversation. So we replied "Do you SELL additional beverages? Or only one beverage per table, per night???" This place doesn't care about service, because customers are a guarantee, being right next to the opera house and the cruise ship traffic. read more

Good location to watch the Sydney Harbor bridge and the Circular Quay. The local concierge recommended this place. They have a 29 dollar prix price menu which I ordered. The reason for the two stars is the service. The waitress thought her whole reason for showing up was to put the plates on the table. No eye contacts and no greetings. The place is expensive and service should reciprocate. Although, the manager walked by and inquired, who would tell them truthfully and spoil a nice dinner experience. Also, the service staff had to be reminded that the first course was still to be served when the second course showed up. read more

Only go here for the view. Service - horrible, food okay. We ate on a Sunday night, and after waiting 15 minutes to see a waiter, then waited anoter 25 minutes for food to arrive. I had steak, overdone, and my wife had the scallops which were good. Saw our waiter twice in an hour sit. for the price (and it is pricey) expect much better service. read more

We spent our last night in Sydney at this location, since we had gone just about everywhere else around the Harbour. We made reservations and it took at least 20 minutes to be met by our disgruntled waiter, who barely took the time to listen to the second syllable of anything that came out of our mouths. He was pushy and inpatient, although we were the ones constantly left waiting on him! I eventually flagged him down after another 20 minutes of waiting after getting table WATER, and actually had to yell out "excuse me, sir?! We are ready to order now." after having our menus closed for what felt like forever. We ordered the Salt&Pepper calamari, which was tender, but very salty without the accompanying sauce. We also ordered the kangaroo medallions, which were tender and tasty. The grilled barramundi was a good portion, but our only side choices were broccolini, fries (chips) and a "salad". I suggest asking for something other than all these options, as who wants 50 cents worth of broccoli/potatoes with a $40 entrée? During our meal, I even had to flag the waiter down to replenish our water. Upon finishing our meal, which we devoured due to the long wait - our waiter was nowhere to be found. One of our party used the restroom and found him eating casually in the back with other staff. We finally made contact with a lady clearing tables to even get our bill. Then, to our surprise, we got popped with a 10% "weekend tax" on top of the hefty bill, which we had not been charged ever, on any weekend, anywhere in Australia. Good food, but definitely not worth the hassle or the final total. *and this didn't seem to be the only table that got poor service, although another male waiter appeared to be busting his butt - too bad we didn't get him!* read more

Please don't come here for breakfast, there are so many other nice places to eat in Sydney with clean plates and polite wait staff. Come here if you like lipstick on your coffee cups (3 out of 4 cups on the table), hard leftover sauce on your plates and want to wait 20 minutes for a coffee when the place is empty. read more

Average and overpriced. What we ordered did not live to the expectations we had. We ordered the rump steak they were cooked to the way we like them but for the amount you get it is not worth the money. Also one of the staff members was really rude to us, as we went to pay the bill he made a snarky comment saying "oh I thought you guys would do the runner". I would've loved to give this place a high rating but after making that comment and making us feel uncomfortable you can see why. I will not be returning to this restaurant. read more

Very, very disappointing! A minuscule, overcooked piece of barramundi and a very sad bowl of lettuce at a cost of $43...how sad and embarrassing as a born and bred Sydney sider. The menu and cost is obviously designed to take advantage of unsuspecting tourists of which I am not. When asked by the waiter if our meal was enjoyable, I explained that it wasn't, but he didn't seem to care. It was obviously a rhetorical question as he did not know what to do with my answer. Needless to say, I left hungry and will certainly not recommend this eatery to anyone. read more
