Their office is very clean and modern with some drinks available in the lobby. I brought my laptop and used their wifi while sipping on my drink. I forget the name of the owners but they did the work very efficiently and they were finished before I knew it. During the whole process they were very communicative which I appreciated. So far I've had the tint on my F150 for about three weeks and I could not be happier. Wife is no longer burning up in the passenger seat (main reason for getting a tint in the first place!) and she stays cool, which means everybody is happy. Ed spent close to an hour reviewing my vehicle history and I appreciated it--he really "geeked out"…read moreon the details in a good way. He comes across as one of the last real mechanics--knowledgeable, thorough, and someone I would have trusted to work on my vehicle. His daughter later called to schedule. She said she was a mechanic. I mentioned Ed had spent a long time with me (as a compliment) and asked a follow-up question about how they'd clear out the engine, noting I had a budget. She said she didn't have enough information, which is fine, but the tone felt closed off. I said, "It doesn't seem like you want to engage in the conversation, and that's okay." She called that rude, I repeated it, and she hung up. I went in person to clear things up because I respected Ed's time. Instead, I was told I had insulted his knowledge--which is completely untrue--and was asked to leave, even after apologizing if anything came across wrong. I respect that Ed let her handle it, but the situation was misrepresented and handled poorly. Unfortunate, because my impression of him was very positive. I did walk away with enough information to pursue next steps, and Elite Auto appears equally equipped, so the time wasn't a complete loss. Based on my experience, I'd keep interactions with her limited to scheduling and work directly with Ed for anything beyond that.

I went in for a simple tire patch. The moment I declined to purchase four new tires for over $1,000…read moreplus, after a very pushy sales pitch, the entire attitude changed. They removed my tire, then told me they wouldn't put it back on. Instead, they said I needed to buy a donut spare because "newer cars don't come with one." I explained that my vehicle already has a spare in the back, and I've used it before. They refused to repair the tire, saying it couldn't be patched, and sent me away on the spare. When I got home, I looked at the tire and found a tiny nail in the center tread. The puncture was well under ¼ inch, the tire had never been driven while flat, there was no internal structural damage, and there weren't multiple punctures. Based on those conditions, it met the standard criteria for a repair. To be sure, I took it to Walmart for a second opinion. They patched it in about 30 minutes with no issues. What concerns me most is the safety aspect. If I hadn't known my vehicle had a spare or if this had been someone stranded with young children, they could have been left in an unsafe situation because they were told they had no option except spending over $1,000 plus on new tires. If a tire truly can't be repaired, I completely understand. But in this case, another shop repaired it quickly and safely. Customers deserve honest recommendations based on the condition of their tire, not pressure to make an expensive purchase. Do better.
