Sears Appliance repair doesn't even rate a One Star, but that's as low as the ratings allow me to go. 1st off, my family has shopped at Sears and used their appliance repair service for over two decades. We all know Sears has gone out of business after decades of losing money. I believe in being loyal to a business to the bitter end and that's where I'm at today, the bitter end with patronizing Sears. I contacted their appliance division and was rerouted to a Text Bot (AI) to make an appointment for a broke down double oven. The Text Bot made me an appointment for the following day. The following day no service technician came, and I called again. The Text Bot couldn't comprehend the conversation, so I hung up and called back requesting to speak to a person. The system sent me to an "audible voice bot" (AI) who wasn't equipped to handle my questions, and I again asked to speak to a HUMAN BEING. This time a was routed to a Human, but a foreign speaking one. I kept having to correct the Human with my information as she was repeating all the information back to me incorrectly. After all my information was verified, my name, my address, my phone number and my email address I was rerouted again to a Human that handled appointments. The very long story short was she couldn't find any appointment for me and offered many excuses. Another appointment was made for that day in the afternoon for a technician to come somewhere between 1 to 5. %pm came and went and no technician arrived. Needless to say, I do NOT recommend Sears for any appliance repair. I'm sorry to say that they are inept. Now I have to research another appliance repair company that employs Humans. I no doubt realize that even this "review" will be answered by an AI Text Bot informing me that they are sorry and they can do better and they'll leave me a customer service phone number to make my experience better. The truth is there's nothing they can do to make it right. There's no Humans to do any repairs. Nothing. As of this review I haven't even had them call me. I don't think the Humans they do employ even know that they missed my appointment. read more

Dishwasher pooling water. The 2 technicians who came to check my dishwasher diagnosed the problem right away. There ran the dishwasher 5 short intervals to show me the problem was corrected. I had seen a similar problem fixed on YouTube which cost money to fix. This problem was corrected without extra cost. These technicians were very professional and extremely knowledgeable. Today was the 3rd time that a technician has come out to fix the problem with my refrigerator's flapper! the problem is with the hinge that's completely broken. last time the tech came he glued it with my glue! this time the tech attached it with a screw, that's what I had done before and it still broke. The last tech that glued the broken part told me that if it didn't work, that he would order an entire door assembly. the tech that came today and did another cheap fix told me that it would work. I told him that I'm tired of paying Sears so that they can send another tech that does another cheap and unprofessional job!! I want the entire door replaced or I'm canceling my service. I had scheduled for a week for Robert to come out and repair my Maytag washer and besides the $100 plus service call he wanted another over $400 to repair the washer. So Robert advised me he was going to cancel my appointment. I called Sears and was transferred to the complaint department where they did nothing! Next day I called In-home Appliance Repair, and a very nice gentleman came out and fixed it for $54.95! Rober the technician needs to be fired and learn better customer relations. The technician came to my home, opened the refrigerator door and said "oh it's the defrost heater" it will cost over $500 to fix and the part will take two weeks to arrive. He did not check the refrigerator. The diagnosis was based on the refrigerator not cooling and the noise that was heard at times coming from the refrigerator for the $99.00 diagnostic fee plus taxes. It was determined that the compressor was not working and therefore also needed a new electronic control board. Based on this the total cost to repair would be $1,617.33 that I would have to pay out of pocket. This Kenmore Elite is still under the 10 year Kenmore Elite Limited Warranty which states a defective compressor will be repaired free of charge. No one seems to care about honoring this warranty and is expected that I pay $1,617.33. I did pay the diagnostic fee of $107.17. If this is the proper way to diagnose a refrigerator and charge $107.17 for the diagnostic fee, then you earned this charge. read more

I am very disappointed with Sears! Over the past couple couple weeks, my appointments were canceled without any prior notices or reasons. In addition to that, trying to communicate with them is practically impossible. I will never utilize their services again nor would I ever recommend them to any member of my families and friends. I am so disappointed when my appointments were canceled, I tried calling and was unable to speak to anyone! I had to go with a different contractor and further delay the repair of my dishwasher. The Serviceman was so rude. Before he arrived, there was no water leak from under my sink where freezer tube attached to water source. I don't know what he did but suddenly I had a water leak at that point. He said to call a plumber. He argued with me. Also, I received 3 of the same parts in three separate mailings. He used one. I told him I would return the other two since they were sent here in our name. . He said he would take them otherwise he would have me pay for them. I told home I would just send back to Sender. He said no and pointed to the box containing the old part and told me "You can keep that one." He took both new, unopened, unused parts. When he left, I still couldn't tell if the problem was fixed because they had to turn off water source because of the new leak he had caused. He was so very rude. read more

Let me just say that we have been without AC for over 10 days and still our appt gets push back until next week. I have called the 1-800 number and they hang up on me, when I explained my situation. I understand it takes time for parts to arrive, but it's understandable if it's under a week. But over 2 weeks, it's nonsense. The reason we bought Sears and pay the over price AC is because we didn't wanted to experience what is happening now with someone else. But unfortunately that was a lie. I am very disappointed and now I'm looking somewhere else to get my AC going. Very good customer service in installing, but horrible in getting back to repair appliances that are a priority in your life. It's just seems they don't care if your at home with no AC with triple digits and high humidity . SMH shame on them. read more

Where do I even begin. In May, my 92-year old mother's washer broke down. It was under warranty from many years before. She's been a loyal Sears customer for half a century. The washer was to be repaired. At least two guys who went to try and fix it, over the course of several weeks, had no clue what to do. Parts were ordered, which she received in three different deliveries over the course of three weeks. The alleged repair person came out to then repair the washer, but instead, took the parts with him, left her no receipt, and told her Sears had decided to replace her washer and it would be there the following week. This did not occur because no one ordered a replacement for her. I'm her daughter in Oregon, so I got involved because my mom doesn't get around much and lives with my disabled adult brother. A replacement washer, a rinky dink piece of crap little Kenmore, was finally delivered on 7/22 - now remember, she had been without a washer since the end of May. We were told the washer did not include any of the hoses, that was our responsibility, so I ordered hoses and had them delivered to her home in time for this installment. They brought their own hoses after all and installed the washer, even put it through a test wash. What they failed to tell my mother, which explains their hasty departure, is that the lid to the top-loading washer crashed into the cabinets above. My mother has been forced to load and unload this piece of crap washer by holding the lid open with her left arm. Unbelievable. When I called the service people back to complain about this and to ask why on earth they hadn't told my mother this (she'd stayed out of the way while they were working), I was told by a young woman obviously reading a prompter, that they couldn't do anything to help. I am so upset for my mother. I've tried to complain to the correct people or department but there ain't no such thing. You can complain to the holding company, who claims they'll try and correct whatever situation, but I'm not holding my breath. The egregious level of incompetence by everyone involved in this transaction is just unbelievable. My mother was outright lied to several times about delivery and repair and when such would happen, she was treated horrendously when attempting to reach anyone by phone, and I just think they need to do something to make it up to her. I just cannot tell you the many things that went so very wrong. It's incredible. We were given I don't even know how many phone numbers to contact and each one had a person less informed and even less helpful than the last. What a freaking nightmare. read more

Sears repair personnel have been always very professional and do a great job. For most of the time they arrive to the home with in the time they say they will be their, only once they showed up after the scheduled time but that wasn't to big of an issue. Thus far I have not had any problems or issues here in El Paso or back in Maryland. read more
