If I could give zero stars I would. This is the WORST company that to deal with. Our home warranty company chose them to come out and fix our AC unit which went out about a month ago. All we ever got was the run around. the first technician came without notice didn't ring bell and left without us knowing we scheduled another appointment and they came out a week later and said they'd order the part to fix the unit which was about 2 weeks ago no communication with us as far as what the plan was. Then another appointment today and the technician never showed this is the second time this has happened. Please avoid them with all cost. As far as our Home Warranty they will no longer do business with them cause this makes absolutely no sense the way these people played in our faces. Then you can't never seem to talk to a Live person all they have is this virtual machine this whole situation just pissed me off. We have elderly people and children in the home and have been going through heat advisory left and right and to be sitting at home with no AC is not right at all. read more

My review concerns Sears' poor communication and service. A technician was scheduled to arrive on March 21, 2025, for a repair. I took time off work to be home, but the technician never showed up and did not call to provide any updates. I later discovered that the no-show was due to the necessary part being unavailable--information that Sears failed to communicate. After contacting the warranty company, I learned that the part was no longer available. However, the warranty company later informed me that they had located the required part, and Sears was once again assigned as the repair vendor. When the technician arrived today, he asked what was wrong with the washer--despite being the same technician from the initial repair attempt. He completed the repair but left the old part in my home instead of properly disposing of it. This experience highlights Sears' lack of communication and professionalism, and I hope they improve their service going forward. read more

I understand that Christopher the assigned service tech for our service on today made 2 calls to be phone. Yes, it did go to voicemail I was in the shower. The service app informed that our technician would arrive between 12:15-1:45 on the service day, however when I went to check the update after seeing 2 missed calls it states our technician had arrived. After calling the technician, texting, and leaving voicemails the tech did not respond. Mind you all of this occurred from 9:39-10:04. My camera shows the service van but however after he called he did not get out to ring the doorbell while seeing vehicles at the assigned residence. Is this standard practice? My service request was closed with N/A, so I still have no working appliance. read more

Very unprofessiona!! A/C has been out for over 3 months. There has been a total of 5 appointments scheduled but WHEN the technician decides to show up, he is empty handed. The latest appointment was scheduled for today, 8/18/2025, and as of 4:30 pm CST, he has failed to show up, but sent a payment receipt stating stating the service was refused by the customer and that is far the the truth. To top it all off my unit was left taken apart and I cannot get anyone else to touch it for liability purposes. There has been several days with heat reaching over 100 degrees and there is elderly and small children in the home. This is absolutely unacceptable!!!!!! Technician Robert was fantastic. Diagnosed the problem, ordered the part, and fixed the fridge. He was friendly and professional. HOWEVER, the scheduling system is abysmal. The service window was 11 hours one day and 12 hours for the follow up appt. I don't know ANYONE that this is convenient for. Additionally, you can not reach a live agent anywhere. Every phone number I found circled back to their main automated system. The chatbot that handles the schedule provided updates that were off by hours. For example, I got a message that the technician would arrive between 1:27 and 1:50 the first day. It was over two hours later that he arrived. This happened repeatedly. The map that is on the link to track arrival is nonfunctional. Every bit of communication is done by a bot--a bot with bad grammar and errors that make it obvious that it is a bot and not a person ("This is tech with Sears have work on fridge will be at your house in about 40mins. Thanks"). The rating system that you are asked to fill out is designed by people that know that scheduling and communication are a problem; otherwise, there would be a place to review more than just whether the problem was resolved (Don't ask questions you don't want the answers to; it will mess up your advertising?). Was the problem resolved? Yes. Was communication and accuracy good? No. Abysmal. read more

The best word I can use to describe Sears Home Services is "comedy." My experience with them has been laughable from start to finish. They were assigned to fix my AC by Choice Home Warranty. I was given an arrival window of 8am-5pm, which they did not show up for. It was then impossible for either myself OR the home warranty company to reach them, so my case was reassigned. Where it becomes truly laughable is weeks later, when I finally get a call about "rescheduling my appointment." Literally full weeks after them missing the appointment and not responding to calls. That would be laughable enough, but now I can't *cancel* an appointment that never even happened, and they just "rescheduled" it for... five days ago. What? I receive emails *daily* from them now about rescheduling the appointment because it was "missed," and I have gotten texts about it at 4am two days in row. And now I am absolutely, completely unable to actually cancel this appointment. I have used their online portal. I have used the automated phone service. I have even spoken with not one but two "agents" at the company, who very conveniently disconnected mid-call. CANCEL. MY. APPOINTMENT. It was missed. It was rescheduled for a day that no longer exists and will never come. I cannot be clearer about this. If an actual human from Sears sees this, do not respond with "call this number for assistance," just cancel my appointment. This company is without a doubt a 0/5 company, because not only do they not do anything, they make it as big of a pain as possible to get their hooks out of you. First of all, George, the guy who did the actual work was great. he was quick to diagnose the problem, had the part with him to replace it quickly, tested it to make sure it was working again, and put it all back together. He was efficient, courteous, and professional. In all, he spent a little over an hour to get it all done. BUT, the pricing from Sears seemed to be pretty high. The total price was $400. The part itself was $80, probably about double the normal retail price. The price for labor then was $320. That seems outrageous. The scheduling from Sears seems to be a little off too. The schedule they gave us for the original appointment was from 8 to 5 on Monday. On Monday the text said it would be at 1 PM. Then during the day it kept rescheduling it later until it set it at just after 5PM. We were going out that evening so I went to the site to reschedule it. I dealt with a chatbot. (There is no phone number to contact.) We rescheduled for Wednesday, and I agreed with the Chatbot for a time between 8 and noon on Wednesday. Minutes later the confirming email from Sears came. It said it was scheduled from 7AM to 6PM on Wednesday. I'm not sure who would have done the work after 5 PM as I asked George and he only works to 5 PM. George actually showed up at around 1:30PM. One good point perhaps, when I set up the appointment, the chatbot asked enough questions about the problem that it could probably deduce the part needed and make sure George had it. Conclusion: Good work at a very high price. read more

ZERO STARS!!!! I have a contract with 1st American Home Warranty who subbed my repair job to Sears Home services (SHS). SHS HAS BEEN ABYSMAL. I have been scheduled, rescheduled, scheduled again and rescheduled and rescheduled. Why? Per SHS, "the part is on backorder", but it's not. The part is sitting in my house and if anyone would have checked the UPS.com link, that was sent to me by SHS, they would have seen that my parts were already delivered! SHS has trouble with their scheduling software, and it is obvious to me, that whoever integrated their SMS tool with the scheduling application did a terrible job. I am now getting messages that my appointment is now scheduled for March 20th and today is April 9th. BTW, on each occasion I took off work for 7am - 6pm appointments that NEVER were fulfilled. They didn't know that their technicians were not going to make it to my repair appointment today??? NO WONDER SEARS WENT OUT OF BUSINESS IN RETAIL. If this SHS Group keeps going in this direction, they too will also be insolvent. Finally contacted 1st American, no luck their either. UPDATE: As I am writing this review (4:53pm) I just received a text that my appointment was once again rescheduled. HOME WARRANTY SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. read more

THEN today the service tech did not call when he was on the way, lied and said I declined services, and even signed my initials when I never declined anything. I still have not received a phone call. We never saw him; he never came. Finally we had to go buy a water heater and have it installed. Sears is going to send us a check which will not cover the total cost of the service. The Protection Plan which we have had on this water heater is not worth what we paid annually for it. read more

AHS and Sears's contract service creates an undue burden and unnecessary tactics for acquiring services. My experience with AHS started in January 2023 and is only now being resolved with my dishwasher repair. I had several scheduled appointments that resulted in NO SHOWS (3 to be exact). Time spent waiting for service has been more than a 40-hour work week. I am very disappointed with the time it took to complete this repair (more than 3 months) the poor management of my appointments and the difficulty in talking to an agent to get this fully resolved. The phone centers and automated phone service is inadequate for delayed and difficult cases (simple task are okay). The lack of functional scheduling for services to keep a customer hostage a whole day (8am to 5pm or 7am to 4pm time frame) is unreasonable. You may want to consider compensating clients waiting more than 4 hours. We too have work to do! To subject customers to have to wait for 1 day for services is beyond modern-day scheduling and efficiency. What happened to 4-hour blocks for estimated scheduling time? AHS lacks accountability to homeowners for such a request. An 8-hour block of time designation with no flexibility or consideration of the impact on families (income, stress, lack of commitment to timely service). These practices are unfair and unjustified to tie up 8 hrs of a customer's time and a 90-day or delay for completion of work. There are implications for loss of income, and undue stress by delay tactics for repairs and services. This is my first experience with AHS and will explore other viable home warranty coverage. read more

Technician replaced new ice maker in our Kenmore 3 door frig. He didn't seem to be familiar with repair and didn't install all parts. I had to install the on/off arm. After 3 hours, no ice. It's not working. Now we have to wait another 8 days to have another repair! read more

I have had numerous repairs with this company, which have all gone bad. I had an issue with my dryer, and they ordered many parts to fix it, but didn't fix it after 5 attempts, fixing it on the last one. Now, my washer and dishwasher are broken, and they ordered parts, and fixed it, but it broke after 2 days. They bought more parts, and charged us extra for the parts, but never came to install them. After 2 weeks, they stopped responding to texts and calls. Never do business with Sears. read more

Sears sent a tech who had never worked on an ice machine for an ice machine that wasn't making ice. The tech called another tech who supposedly had knowledge of ice makers. Over the phone they decided it needed a part that wasn't sold on the site he checked without ever testing any part. Only did a visual. So there wasn't anything he could do. He seemed relieved as he was already hours past when he was supposed to arrive. To his credit he did call to let me know. So I was out $150 for someone to come out for 15 minutes to look at something he knew nothing about. Best part of the story is it started making ice after he left. It has since started acting up again. Seems like a water pump issue. I would not use Sears. These techs know if they say the problem is a part they can't get from Sears, there peace out knowing they're getting that quick service call fee. read more

Our washing machine stopped working so we submitted a claim to our Home Owners Warranty (First American) and they sent Sears Appliance Repair. Initially said we needed a part that wasn't available and then took two weeks to research a part and then notified First American that the part was no longer available. First American diddled with the claim for two more weeks and then started over again with Tyms Appliance Repair. Their tech showed up as scheduled and found a reset switch in the washer. When he pushed it, the washer started working. I'd say RUN from Sears (it's not Sears any longer . . . now owned by a company called Transformco). If you need appliance repair, the folks at Tyms are very nice and knowledgeable. read more
