Cal was friendly, respectful, timely, thorough and got the job done. Unfortunately I had 2 appointment with sears on this day. Cal was great. The second appointment they never showed up or called. I called Sears 6-8 times during the 8-5 window. Finally at 5:30 someone named Major answered and said Eric would be out at 7:30 pm. At the same time while in the phone with Major I got an email saying my appt was moved to 11/2/2023. I took today off for these appts. And not even the decency of a call before pushing my appt out another 9 days. Sears ordered parts and made this new appt for me for today 10/24/2023. I didn't make it. Then they don't show or call and just reschedule. Not for tomorrow but 11/2? Seriously? Sears is so hit or miss but I think this is the last straw for me. Four years of spotting service. When I finally got through they told me another 48 to 72 hours before I would get a return call. I purchased a kitchen suite of appliances in 2016. The $3500.00 refrigerator compressor has gone out twice in the last 6 months. The first time it took Sears 4 months to fix it. Each and every time I have had a scheduled appointment they have canceled or not shown up at the last minute. I took days off of work and then they never showed. I had a repairman scheduled to fix my washer today and, guess what, they canceled. Why do I keep going back- no one else will service these machines. Dishwasher rack repair. Didn't have the needed part. Ordered part, different technician came for next appointment. He said he had not worked on the particular problem in his two years on the job. He said it's pretty much learn on the job. He replaced the part, it took about 2 hours. Installed 2 roller stops with some difficulty. He pulled the rack out a couple of times and all looked good. As soon as we pulled the rack out they came off causing the rack to come off the rollers. I you tube video on how to install the stop makes it look easy to install. Not for me! $300 and we still have to be careful pulling the rack out. Technician was friendly and polite. I hope I don't need to use Sears repair again. They are supposed to be the experts. I have had problems with scheduling also. And I also found out that technicians no longer attend training but learn how to do repairs on You Tube. We had a very nice individual come to do diagnosis and he was able to do that but since then one of our issues resolved by itself and the scheduling people tell us that no one is showing up for the scheduled appointment because one of our parts hasn't arrived. But we don't need that part anymore. It doesn't get transcribed on to the account and we go round and round. Still no repair,,,,but the parts are paid for. We thought we had a warranty on our air conditioner. We did but it expired on July 18. We called Sears on July 1 . Of course, they could not schedule a repair until July 20- a very hot month. We extended the warranty. Service people showed up- not Sears employees but independent contractors.They would not work on the conditioner because it was above ground. Our icemaker was not working so I called Sears Home Services for repair. The service tech came out for the first time on 9/25/15. He arrived halfway through the 4 hour appointment window. He told me the icemaker on the fridge was broken and needed to be replaced. I agreed to the repair. He stated that he would have to order parts and would then return to finish the job once the parts arrived. I had to prepay $316.00, of which $99 was for a "trip fee" and the rest was for parts. We scheduled the return service visit for October 12, 2015. On October 12, 2015 a second (different) technician arrived. The appointment window was from 10am to 2pm, and he arrived well after 2pm with no call or communication about being very behind schedule. This technician stated that there was in fact nothing wrong with the ice maker but in fact the problem was a water line TO the icemaker. He stated that Sears does not work on the water line and that I would have to hire a plumber. He said Sears would issue a refund. On October 20, 2015 I called Sears Home Services to ask about my refund. I was told by "Debra" that the refund would be issued via a check "probably by November 20." She could not tell me when I could expect the check. She refused to credit the money back to the credit card, which now forces me to carry this balance pending hopeful receipt of the check. She also refused to refund the trip charge, even though no work was done, because "there is a 90 day warranty on the work." I told her that no work was done and asked what the warranty covered. She could not reply. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she refused to connect me. After terminating my call with Debra, I called Amex to dispute the charges. The Amex representative was quite surprised to hear about the actions of "Debra." Needless to say, in light of the extremely inept and unprofessional service provided, I would not recommend Sears Home Services to my worst enemy. If 0 stars were an option, that would be too many. Obviously, Sears was trying to frustrate me into paying their fraudulent invoice by making it so extremely difficult to get the fraudulent invoice reversed - i.e. no customer service org which will even speak to me about the correction, just your insistence that I need to submit a "letter of dispute" to get the invalid invoice corrected. That paired with the aggressive language in the invoice which threatens to immediately send this invoice to collections, even though the letter was sent a full 36 days after the service in dispute. What happened: It took them 3 tries to get the icemaker on my freezer fixed. 10/25/18 - service technicians attempted repair unsuccessfully - the icemaker never worked after this call. At this time I paid a whopping $461.07. I was told I had a 90 day warranty on the repair which would cover parts and labor. Replaced the entire icemaker but not sure if that was even the problem, they claimed it was. 11/3/18 - service technician came out again but didn't have the part - ok, understandable. 11/13/18 - finally got the repair done successfully. Possibly this time they finally diagnosed the problem correctly. The receipt stated "The repair is valued at 367.27. This service performed at no charge". 36 days later on 12/19/2018, Sears cut me an invoice (not received until early in January), which claimed I owed another 337.27 for the third service call which was supposed to be covered under my warranty, with 35 day terms of payment, even though this invoice was sent 36 days after that service call. It claimed that any amount left unpaid after 95 days will be referred to collections. What's almost worse is the experience of trying to get the fraudulent invoice cancelled. On 1/7/2018, I called the number on the invoice of the billing department, and after trying for an hour to explain the situation to their offshore service, they referred me to another phone number. The other phone number tried to sell me a home monitoring health service, and when I declined that, tried to sell me a cruise which they claimed would only cost me $65, then hung up on me. Called the billing number back and after another hour of trying to explain the issue to their inept offshore guy, he finally explained to me that I had to submit this "letter of dispute" to get the billing issue resolved even though he obviously had all the information needed to resolve the issue. Next I chatted with someone on the home services website. They sent me an email which gave me another number which stated in their greeting that billing disputes could only be resolved via a letter of dispute. The other number it provided for additional assistance was not available in my area, it simply didn't even work. I felt it was only reasonable that I should not need to submit a letter, so I again chatted with a representative who gave me another number, this time it seemed to be US based and I was hopeful that somebody would have common sense and since they had all of the needed information, would simply cancel the invoice, but no, again was told I needed the letter of dispute. Truly horrible service, and obviously aimed at making the consumer give up and pay the invoice rather than face collections and credit problems. This is the probably the worst experience in customer service, and most deceptive business practices, I've ever dealt with. We have a kenmore fridge it quit cooling and freezing, we got an appointment for the repair guy to come right away, then we had to wait 2 weeks for the parts and the repair guy to back, the day of the appointment he was suppose to be here between 8 a.m. and noon. NOT, It is now 1:30 and No repair guy and No call to let us know what was happening. I called and listened to that Frecken recording and found out now the guy is suppose to be here between 5p.m. and 7p.m. I will NEVER NEVER NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM SEAR'S AGAIN. We had bought a Craftsman garage door opener in 2002. It worked fine until 2013. We went to Sears in 2013 and bought another Craftsman to replace it, along with hiring a service man to install. After just looking at it, not taking it apart, he told us our old one had a lifetime warranty. He was able to fix our old one with the parts he had with him. He told us to return the new one and get our money back. So, now, April 23, 2018, I called to see about getting service on it because it's not working again. I'm being told by Sears that it only has a 90 DAY warranty. Then why did he did it 11 years after purchase? The second phone number they have me to call was a very rude young woman. She asked "DO YOU KNOW YOUR ZIP CODE?" Well if that isn't the dumbest question. I asked her why she needed that. It's because the service charge is different in different areas. My area code was $99. I questioned her on that. She said some areas were $89. I can't believe she even told me that. Since when does where you live determine the cost of a service call! I HAD ALWAYS bought Craftsman because my Dad had taught me from young on, that they stand behind their products, and you can NEVER go wrong with them, because of their life long warranty. My Dad used to go to Sears at least once a week to "window shop" and usually come home with a new "toy", a tool! Sorry Dad, this world has really changed for the worse since you passed. I gave Sears a rating of 1 because that is as low as I can give. In the fall of 2015 we bought a matching set of built in oven, refrigerator and dishwasher. All Kenmore Elite and put all on extended warranty (thank God!!). In that time, my oven has been replaced twice - so I am on my 3rd unit. Nearly a month ago it stopped heating. Called and scheduled service for Monday. That day they called ad cancelled the service call & rescheduled for Thursday. A guy showed up who neither had the right equipment - or the right training. Said "I've done washers and dryers for 25 years - only 2 days training on these - we need to reschedule". Soooo - 2 days ago 2 guys showed up. They didn't have the right parts for my unit (had parts for other models) and placed and order for a new part. AND, FOR THE SECOND TIME their repair people scuffed up my cabinets. Now I'll be (hopefully just) another 3-4 weeks without an oven. Meanwhile: 9 days ago an agent offered me $160 towards a convection oven to get us through this time. I hesitated and she said she would call back the next day (Saturday). She never did & since we had a service appointment I decided not to take that offer (never talked to Sears about that decision, as she never called back as promised). So today after finding out I'd be another 3-4 weeks I called to take the convection oven option. I was then told I had decided to take $50 instead and they'd sent the check already so - tough noogies! Asked to speak to a supervisor who raised the offer to $100 and said they would NEVER offer $160. I told her to go back and listen to the call and call me back. Depending on the outcome, I will increase to decrease the rating. I have a Jen Air refrigerator I purchased from Sears along with a Master Protection Agreement. The appliance became extremely loud a while ago. We have had Sears repair technicians come out and attempt to quite it down. Some attempts worked less than a day some worked several months. Recently, it became very loud again. The technician (very knowledgeable) said the door and the box were no longer square. The distortion was probably caused by the wide door (bottom freezer, 36" wide, cabinet depth) which is no longer plumb and can not be leveled. The technician said it can not be fixed. He said to contact customer service. Yesterday, I contacted customer service at Sears Appliance Repair. The first person reviewed the notes and connected me to another person. The second person put me on hold for 3-4 minutes to review the notes. He then asked if I would mind being put on hold again while he spoke to another person. Four to five minutes later, he said he would ask that this file be reviewed for appliance replacement. He said I would hear from Sears in the next two day. The Sears Appliance Master Service Agreement clearly states if the appliance can not be fixed, it will be replaced with a similar model. I will update as events occur. read more

Sears Appliance Repair is the worst repair experience I've ever had when my refrigerator and freezer stopped working. First, they send someone out who tells me that the compressor is bad, and it will take 8 days for them to come back and put in the part. Then after the repair, my refrigerator is worse, my freezer won't go below 55 degrees and my fridge won't go below 58 degrees. And the worst part is that they charged me $421.69 in LABOR only for this disaster and they won't give me my money back so I can just buy a new fridge. Now I have to wait another week without a fridge for someone else to come out and properly diagnose it, then I will have to wait another week for them to come back and install the correct part and hope it works this time. And they will probably charge me another $421.69 at which point I could have almost paid for a new fridge. By the time this second repair is done, it will have been almost a month without a fridge and it's stressing me out. Lastly, the faulty repair took less than 2 hours and labor is $421.69, so they are charging over $210 per hour for labor. Do you know of any other repair service in the world that charges this much per hour for labor? Not even auto mechanics rip off customer this bad!!!! read more

I bought a new refrigerator in april of 2016. I bought the extended service warranty. In November 16 my ice cube maker quit working, called the warranty department and the woman told me it was my filter, replaced my water filter and still no ice. On December 12th had a technician come, he spent 45 minutes trying to figure it out and was not able to fix the ice maker. He told me that parts needed to be ordered. January 9th another tech came to fix it. Now the motor for the ice maker is not working. I tried to make another appt have it looked/fixed and I'm told that I can't because the tech has not closed out the appt for today. Do not buy appliances or extended warranties from Sears they have a very poor customer service policy. read more

I was trying to buy a simple gasket for our refrigerator door from Sears parts department. I was the directed to go to Sears Home Service to resolve the issue. I called and was told that it would cost $99 but that this amount would be applied to parts and labor. Well, the serviceman arrived and briefly looked at the door (90 seconds or less) and announced that nothing was wrong. (He apparently did not receive the information that all I was looking for was a new gasket.) I then pointed out the problem and told him what was needed. He did not bring the necessary part so he ordered it and talked relentlessly about his one trip to Hawaii. After he left I reviewed the bill and discovered I was charged $342.36. That was the $99, $166 for opening and closing the door twice (and not ever seeing the problem), and $77 for the part. How outrageous is that!! I immediately called to complain and was told I needed to wait for a few days to complain. I am ready to protest the entire charge with my credit card company, and write a letter of complaint to the BBB. Bottom line, Sears just lost another customer. No wonder Sears is in bankruptcy! read more

The service phone system is horrible! I wanted to shoot myself! Two calls to that automated system generated 14 emails and texts and 4 appointments. None of which I could be certain of. There was nowhere to call to verify anything. It was a complete mess. Even worse, it should not take over three weeks and two appointments to get a refrigerator fixed. It should be considered an emergency when a fridge is not cooling at all! Living out of a cooler with ice to feed a family of 5 for three weeks is a nightmare! I had to buy a small refrigerator, and spent a LOT of extra time going to the grocery store. You should pay for that. I'm sure I could have gotten service sooner if you were not so busy tending to your air conditioning business. The appliances you sold should have priority over that. I lost hundreds of dollars in food, was completely inconvenienced for nearly a month, was lied to by your first serviceman, And, not all the parts were delivered before the actual service was done. If the compressor was not under warranty I would have bought a new fridge from someone else, because I will never buy another item from Sears again! This reminds me of problems I had with Sears way back in 1983. It's no wonder you're closing so many stores! read more

My refrigerator was supposed to be repaired between 8a-12n last week. The technician who was assigned to my order never showed and didn't call until 3pm to say he was on his way. (After I spent an hour and 10 minutes on hold with SHS to find out if he was coming or not.) He spent all of 25 minutes looking at it and then said he couldn't fix - it needed parts and he'd have to order then and return at a later date. The parts came to my house within a week so I called SHS to schedule his return which took 90 minutes on hold this time. The repair was scheduled for today - between 8a-12n. No one showed, no one called. I called the only number I have and was told that no one was coming but the tech would try his best to call me tomorrow or Saturday. Our technician was supposed to come to our home between 8 and noon and never showed up until after 12:30 or 1. I called Sears and they said he was running late. Well, it would have been nice to know that. He called after 12:00 and said he would be at our house in a bit. Well, we wasted the whole morning waiting for someone to come. When he did come, he was only looking at our washing machine for about 5 minutes and never really checked it all out. We are definitely NOT satisfied with this situation at all. Rating of 1 star because that is as low as it allows me to rate it. I bought a kenmore elite refrigerator back in october 2015 and it recently quit working on september 4, 2017. I called sears and it was a week out for my schedyle appt.(september 11, 2017) with a window 8am-12pm for the tech to arrive. On my appt day the tech arrive few minutes after the given window time and took him about 10 min to diagnose the problem. The tech said that with these new fridge and with the new style compressor, the compressor seems to fail a lot with these refrigerator. And so he said that i would need a new compressor, condenser coil and dryer and said it will take abkut 3 hrs to do the job. He then order the parts and put me on the schedule for repair on the 22nd of september 2017. On september 21 i received an call that i needed to reschedule my appt due all the parts not arriving. Sears then gave me an ETA on the parts for october 4, 2017 for my parts to arrive. By that time my parts have arrived and now im waiting on my appt date to finally get it installed. October 4th came and sears techs are no show. I then called sears and thet said that i was not in the scgedule for repair but i have received an email confirmation stating that i am on the schedule. Of course they said they are very sorry and will schedule me for the next available appt, which is october 11, 2017 with a window of 1pm-5pm. 2:30pm october 11, 2017 the tech shows up and he said he is very sorry because they did not give hime enough time to do the job and that they did not mention be would be installing/repairing parts. The tech called his office and asked what happened and he said that the office said that they just go new software and dont know what had happenend. The tech then ask if he could have the time to repair my refrigerator since he was here already but they didnt allow it. So now the tech scheduled me for october 17, 2017 for my repairs. In all don't buy appliances from sears any sears and most of all don't call them for servicea because they do nkt have the ability to get anything done nor do thy have any communication what so ever. I just had the worst experience with a delivery driver in my life. First I did not get a call the night before to tell me my delivery window, I had to call this morning and ask for it. Then the delivery driver calls me to say he can't fit his truck under the bridge by my house, I told him there was another way around which would take 10 minutes. He asked if someone could come meet him and I said no, I have no way to pick up a dishwasher a mile away from my house. If I did I wouldn't have needed delivery. He said he was already running late and that he would see what he could do. After an hour of him not showing up I called him again and he said he didn't even attempt to go around because he couldn't go through another city. (Less than 2 miles away) and he went on with his other deliveries, didn't even try like he said he would. Then after a heated discussion and him yelling at me, he hung up. Sears has lost a customer today, one that is currently remodeling her home. Customer Service department did nothing about this situation except re-schedule my delivery. Might not sound as bad in writing as the way he talked to me on the phone, so disrespectful. read more

If there was a "0" rating I would give it. I had siding installed on my home a few years ago by Sears. Since then I have had several issues with the siding including some detaching from the home.I called the home improvement department for an inspection.I paid the $100 fee to have someone come fix it and was told they would schedule within 2 days. I was not contacted for scheduling. I called back 5 times over the course of 3 weeks and even spoke with a district manager who said someone would call me the next day to schedule the repair. Again, no one contacted me. THIS PRODUCT HAS A LIFETIME WARRANTY which was a big selling point. But if they don't call back to schedule the repairs (even after you pay them to do so) it doesn't do any good to have the warranty! I had issues with installation (not showing up, leaving debris ALL OVER THE YARD, panels needing to be fixed, a window leaking after siding was installed and having to replace that as well) I will NEVER give business to sears again. Save yourself stress, time and money and hire a local contractor! read more

This review is not so much against this specific location, but against Sears in general. We have a front loading Kenmore Elite washer that we purchased at this location, but when the stainless steel drum failed, we called to inquire about a replacement drum. The warranty clearly states "Limited Lifetime Warranty on Stainless Steel Drum: for the lifetime of the washer from the date of purchase, Sears will replace the stainless steal wash drum due to defective material or workmanship. After the first year, you will be charged for labor." Pretty clear. However, Sears has REFUSED TO HONOR this warranty! We have always purchased our appliances from Sears, but NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Sears Home Services has HORRIBLE customer service! I waited 8 days to have (a not working) fridge fixed! The day of the appointment they are supposed to come between 1 and 5. At 4:30 we call because we have not heard anything. They said they would page their technician. At 5:35 he finally calls back saying there are still several people in front of us and we will need to reschedule. BUT we can't reschedule for the next day or even the same week. We have to wait ANOTHER 9 days before someone can come out and even look at it! I talked to a manager and they tell me nothing they can do. I have to suffer for another 9 days without a fridge because they overbooked their technician for today. How can it be acceptable if they are the reason the technician was overbooked and did not make it to my house. How can I not be put at the very first appointment the following day!?!?!?!? After calling customer service talking to supervisors and EVERYONE telling us nothing they can do about it. How can they not fix THEIR mistake in an urgent manner!! #unacceptable read more

Scheduled service for my water heater and refrigerator ice maker. The confirmation email quoted rates that were higher than what was quoted on the phone. After several calls and getting hung up on once, I was not able to resolve the issue. Customer service reps only quoted policy and rates and had no interest in resolving the concern. The technician arrived so I decided to give him a chance to clarify things. He responded with more unclear price quotes that were even higher than the others and with smart aleck answers. Despite having given the make and model of the water heater and identifying the problem as a leaky pressure release valve, the technician arrived and stated that he was not sure that he had the right part. After all this, didn't even let him into the house. Now, after a two day wait, I still have to find someone to repair my appliances. Like other reviews, if I could chose 0 stars, I would. I would leave a comment on the Sears cute but there is no way to do that and no customer service option. We pay $50/mo and $75 per claim plus parts. They never have parts. They always have to come back - at their convenience, not yours. We waited 1 week for a repair person. He ordered parts without checking what was needed. We have had 2 appts cancelled because we didn't have all the parts, some of which we might not need. I spent 3 hours on the phone trying to get a repair person to install what we have and spoke to 14 separate individuals. No matter what number you call, you are ultimately transferred to the scheduling dept in the Phillipines with a language barrier and a 13 hr time difference. They do not listen to help solve a problem. They read a script and ultimately are unable and unwilling to help you outside some very narrow parameters and their procedural time schedule. It will be a three weeks before I have any hope of a return visit and I am totally at the mercy and whim of these individuals, with 6 months and contractual payments left on this warranty plan. While it is indeed very easy to file a claim, getting a repair done is a very different story. Do yourself a favor and don't purchase this plan, and spread the word to family and friends. read more
