Battery 245 is a hidden gem. I visited on a recommendation from my niece, who raves about their Seared Albacore Tostada--and she was right. It is definitely worth the drive over the bridge to Warrenton for their incredible food, craft beers, and cocktails. We snuck in early on a Saturday morning right at 10:00 AM. Sarah was our 'bartender extraordinaire' she was sweet and fun to talk to. The bar area is clean and incredibly spacious, and I loved the cool wall murals. Their menu is small but well-curated. Because we arrived early, we were on the brunch menu. While I was happy with that, my husband was eyeing their famous Smash Burger, which technically doesn't start until 11:00 AM.We started with the Belly Scramble: pork belly, 'cowboy candy' (candied jalapeños), tomatoes, onions, a cheese blend, and three scrambled eggs, all topped with cowboy candy aioli. It was incredibly delicious; the smoky flavor from the pork belly and the candied bacon definitely gave it that perfect umami flavor, while the pickled jalapeños added a nice sweet heat. I washed it down with their signature Fishhawk Bloody Mary, which is expertly seasoned with smoked sea salt and even more cowboy candy. Since it was a slower morning, Sarah let us know the kitchen was ready to make my husband's triple patty "victory" early! He went with a triple-patty, added jalapeños, and left off the veggies. You can really tell their ingredients are locally sourced by the fresh, juicy flavor of the meat and that soft stout bun. This burger is incredible--and if you follow my reviews, you know I don't say that lightly.We were stuffed, but we had to try the Seared Albacore Tostadas after all the hype. A friend and I dropped in for lunch mid week. We were seated right away but that is where the service stopped. We sat there, no menu, no water, no utensils, no eye contact for 11 minutes. I tried a couple times to get someone's attention but thwarted by eye avoidance. The tables weren't busy-3 other tables in the front room. The service person passed us multiple times-no contact. We left, unimpressed and likely will not return. This isn't good for local small business owners. As a local we like to support small business however it does mean that it has to be worthwhile and not to avoid minimal service expectations. It's unfortunate. read more

Killer fish and chips at this spot. It's very clearly whole hand cut fillets, super fresh, juicy, and flavorful. Tartar sauce was great. The coleslaw was a bit bland but I just put malt vinegar on it and it was perfect. These guys are clearly a cut above Bowpicker and Grizzly Tuna, and just behind Ship Out. We were excited to try this place but had a middling experience. The space itself is nice with some outside seating and open garage door off the bar but the super mellow music made the ambiance a little sad. The service was a little slow but the one woman doing double duty bartending and serving was hustling as best she could. One employee (owner?) seemed like he could have hustled more to help. And now the food...the seafood chowder and Caesar salad were both pretty good. But the burgers....toppings are good but the patties themselves on both burgers were overcooked, buns on both burgers were burnt and we were just disappointed. Not sure if we will return. read more

The food was great, I've never have such great seafood chowder before. I'll order that again. The smash burgers were outstanding. I'll be going there tomorrow and I'm bringing some friends. So to start very nice people working there I have been a couple times now. The place is really nice great bar table. This time I decided to order food and got the smash burger I usually ask for well done however not this time and it was perfect. The bun was even toasted a little adding a crunch. The burger sauce was good. I overheard locals in seaside talking about it so I decided to eat there. The beers and I have been to a few breweries were spot on. I got a flight and it was a brown, Mexican lager, double IPA and single IPA. I usually can say which one I don't like however not this case they were all delicious. Brand new brewery/restaurant in Warrenton. Woo hoo! Had the pleasure of dining at Battery 245 last week, when they only had 10 days under their belt. Everyone was really friendly, and the service was great! We tried a few menu items... the Soup of the Day, a Salad, a Wedge Smash Burger and the Pretzel Board. The Soup and Salad were good, and the Wedge Smash Burger - with crispy pork belly - was awesome! The fries that came with the burger were perfect. The pretzel board was hit and miss. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt, because it sounded ambitious - House-made pretzel, fried. The fried part is where Battery 245 lost us - it didn't really work as a pretzel or a churro. Yes, churro. The texture was a lot closer to a churro than a pretzel, but it wasn't sweet at all. We'll definitely be back - there are a number of burger and sandwiches on the menu that sound interesting. And if they're anything like the Wedge Smash, they'll be tasty! read more

BURGERS ON POINT! This would have to be our new favorite burger spot. My husband and I found it by accident & we were thrilled! We've been back about 5 times no lol. Easy to find, they restaurant seating in the front and a bar atmosphere set up in the back! Fried pickles and wings are a must! The bbq burger and wedge burger is to die for! So is the chicken sandwich. Honestly you can't go wrong! Not to Mention we had exceptional Service as well! Food came out in a timely fashion & cooked well! The menu is brief however covers steak, burgers, salads, seafood and chowder! The dining area is spotlessly fresh and clean! Our server was friendly and attentive while apologizing that she was a newbie working here and still learning the menu. There were four of us dining, two ordered Louie salads, both had a generous portion of their preferred topping, shrimp and chicken. The dressing was served on the side in a small ramekin. The smash burger ordered with a glutton free bun looked loaded, messy and delicious. I ordered a three-piece fish and chips and was informed they were out of tuna however; I could order cod instead for a $6 upcharge. The fish was delicious and the pickled tartar sauce was spot on, however I don't believe the cod was worth the additional fee. The side of fries were plentiful, but many were short pieces and probably were the tail end of a frozen 20-pound bag. The beer and wine list covered the popular choices, and I was pleased to see both a Cabernet and red blend available by the glass. All in all, a good meal for all of us at prices that didn't break the bank, and we will return again soon. read more

We visited today and learned there are two seating areas, one in the bar area that was crowded as we walked in, and a more traditional dining space, which had plenty of seating. Service felt rushed and a bit disorganized. My son's water and my tea never got a refill, I had minimal ice in my tea and when asked and reminded her, never received more. I had to get up more than once for sweetener, silverware, and napkins. I understand this is a newer restaurant (opened November 2025), but better staff training would really help. I ordered the three-piece fish and chips, though the menu doesn't say what kind of fish is used. Neither the menu nor the server could clarify. Unfortunately, the batter was rubbery and tough, and I didn't care for the coleslaw. I also ordered what I thought was clam chowder, but it came as a "three fish soup" (clam, salmon, and "local fish"), which we didn't enjoy. I don't like salmon, and it tasted fishy, but my son said it had a "sausage" flavor, though didn't see any in it. I misunderstood the menu when it listed the fish, but when I asked for a cup of "clam" chowder, and she said OK, I didn't think otherwise. The bowl surprised me and it being runny, told me it was not chowder. My son ordered the BBQ smash burger and really liked it. He said the flavors worked well and weren't too spicy. The only miss for him was the house-made pickles, which were sweet. He isn't a sweet pickle person. The dining room itself is pleasant, and I liked the small touches (they still had their Christmas tree up). The menu overall looks great, and we'd consider trying it again, especially items like the pretzel board or tuna melt. I'd suggest adding clearer descriptions, especially for the type of fish and clarifying what "local fish" may mean one will be receiving. In town for a few days so we decided to try this place out for dinner with some friends for the first time. Unfortunately this will be the first and last. My husband and friend got food poisoning. They both had the tuna fish and chips and my other friend had the tuna burger but we don't think it was the tuna, we've narrowed it down to the tartar sauce, only 2 of them had the tarter sauce. I did call the manager the next day to let them know and he definitely put up a huge defense over it barely apologizing. I did not like his attitude at all. He said the tartar sauce is made fresh daily, well I highly doubt that, and even though that may be true, there's still one ingredient that could be bad like the mayo for instance. He also said he would do some investigating and follow up with me the next day. That never happened which is not good business. We saw that Battery 245 had opened in Warrenton and hit it up for lunch on New Year's Eve. We had the calamari, seafood chowder and the tuna melt. The calamari and melt were excellent (and the homemade pickles - super yummy) and the chowder was solid. The cocktails were also delicious (we opted for the mescal versions). The bathroom was clean and the food was so yummy. The tortillas were homemade, came with two delicious salsa and a good chunk of fish for the the tacos. The smash burger and the bartender kept re filling are free refill drinks they also had seats were you could see the kitchen. The beer is delicious. read more

We've tried this place a couple of times and both times have been left with mixed feelings. I appreciate what they're trying to achieve, but I'm not sure they're hitting the mark with a lot of the menu items. Using albacore tuna for the fish and chips is an interesting choice, but the batter is simultaneously chewy and bready, rather than retaining any crisp as it cools. Unfortunately it ruins the dish. The same unfortunate batter is used for their fried pickles, which we were surprised and dismayed to find were made with SWEET pickles. They were absolutely inedible. The smash burger is quite good, but again served with sweet pickles. Just, why? I've never seen a place commit so hard to unconventional choices when the more traditional choice for a classic dish would be the better one. The beers are ok, not special. The Bloody Mary was atrocious (and also sweet?!?), but I could see the effort to put their own spin on a classic. Again, just not the best choices being made here overall. The service both times was slow and disjointed, but the servers were pleasant and we suspected they were understaffed. The same server seemed to be covering the bar and both sides of the restaurant both times we were in. We've now tried being seated on both sides and preferred the booths on the restaurant side for comfort, but preferred the general energy and vibes on the bar side. We want to continue giving this place a chance, and are generally willing to overlook service issues due to staffing difficulties, but it's hard to justify the choice when the menu is hit or miss. read more

First of all, I understand that this is a fairly new restaurant. I do not know if our server has had prior experience but someone needs to train her when it comes to serving drinks. She served our drinks by the top of the glass where we put our mouths to drink. I also saw her clear glasses off of tables by putting her hands and fingers inside the dirty glasses. I don't know for sure but I would guess that she didn't wash her hands after touching those glasses. Our food was fine but someone in our party was told that bread was included with the soup. When his soup came out there was no bread. Our food was brought out by a different person and she said that bread was not included. Came in with my family after limiting out on Razor Clams. We made it in time for brunch. I had an Albacore Tuna Tostada and some Albacore tacos. They were phenomenal. The handmade corn tortillas make it 100% worth it. They were so good I ate the leftovers the next day tortilla first. They were packed full of flavor all on their own. The cabbage, salsa, and tuna was a bonus! My father in law got the most massive chicken fried steak I have seen outside of Texas. We were informed that it was a prime grade new York strip they hand battered and fried. Light-years above what most places serve for C.F.S. the same frozen one off the Sysco truck. My Paloma tasted a little bit off to what I normally expect but I was driving so I was only having one drink anyway. Stopped in for the chowder as part of a United Way Chowder Crawl.... They've only been open a couple of months but show promise! The dining room is bright and the seating arrangement uncrowded. The seafood chowder is good! Better yet it's gluten free, as are a number of items on the menu (a rare thing in the area)! The fish and chips were also good; although specifying the type of fish may have helped ('guessing halibut?). A decent selection of local beers; 'look forward to trying more of their brand as they grow. Also a nice variety on the menu with very reasonable prices for this area. Treated my daughter and grandson Monday, 23 Feb 26 and found this venue to be very clean, well lit staff and service quite friendly and efficient. The food was just ok. The seafood chowder was roux based, and did not contain a lot of seafood. It tasted more like a potato soup and was pretty thick with flour or potato flakes. Our burgers were nicely presented, but the flavor and texture wasn't all that great. Really good fries! They seem to try to keep the prices reasonable. read more
