Frank does not own the store anymore and every positive review below is from a much different time. It is currently being run by a man who does not drink and lies to customers in order to sell the product. If you have a more in depth question he will just google it, he doesn't know what he's talking about. The store is disgusting and hasn't been mopped or cleaned since being taken over which is evident by all of the dust and dirt on the bottles (don't ask about the bathrooms). If you order delivery from the store directly or on the app, any tip you leave for the driver that isn't cash goes straight to the owners pocket. Prices have gone up steadily and will continue to rise conveniently in time for the summer. The "company car" that the tip-less drivers are provided with has the ABS lights on (and yes the breaks are awful) and a slew of other safety issues that would fail a real inspection in 3 minutes. The alternative is to put miles on your own car for minimal compensation. These past reviews are out of date and do a VERY poor job of representing the current state of this store. Everything that made Seaside worth going to is gone. Prices are higher, anyone with any real knowledge of the product is gone, and delivery times will be higher as there is only one POS car to go from Massapequa to Freeport. Unless you're coming in specifically for tequila, (the tequila section is still good) just shop at Total Wine. read more

Great selection and almost the same prices as total wine and other warehouses... the staff is friendly and or honest, there had been a few times when I asked about a wine or liquor and they tell me they never had it, instead of acting like they tasted and rember every wine in the store. I've been living back on LI temporarily for about a month and recently came to the conclusion that the liquor store situation here in general, kind of sucks. It's hard to go from a decade of buying wine and liquor in any grocery store, or better yet, Trader Joes or Costco, not to mention specialty stores that make you want to linger (in New Orleans, many wine shops have a bar with affordable, great wines available by the glass, too) to... this. Wine stores on LI, at least in Nassau County, seem on the whole a entirely depressing affair. Dark, narrow, little stores tucked away and hard to find - the red headed step children of the strip mall. Many don't even have names to that you can remember and are simply marked, "LIQUOR." Most close at stupid early o'clock (even when located in a strip mall with BYOB places that can't get liquor licenses. SO ANNOYING). The proprietors are often grumpy and with good reason, given the above. Honestly, I haven't felt so uninspired to drink since I had the misfortune to be traveling through a bunch of dry counties in Tenn. LI, surely you can do better. I don't need to feel dirty just for wanting to buy a bottle of booze. Enter Seaside Liquors, a breath of fresh wine. I was dying for a decent bottle of red wine at the unholy hour of 7pm on a Sunday of all days. A cursory Yelp search for the area I was in (Hicksville) revealed a bunch of places that closed at 6 or 7pm (guess they are cool with day drinking). And then, lo and behold, I found Seaside Liquors and they close at 8pm on Sundays. We rushed over there and as soon as I entered, I breathed a sigh of relief for the store was bright and cheery and I was greeted by someone young and smiling, rather than the grumpy septuagenarian at the place down the block who reluctantly rings me up (the truth is, the experience is so depressing, I haven't been there since I last visited my parents back in August and trust me, I love to drink wine). The man asked me if I needed help, but as soon as I saw the sign "Chianti," I knew I was in the right place. They have a good selection of Italian reds and extremely decent prices, not to mention actual sales! Seaside may not be walking distance to my house like the aforementioned place, but I'll gladly get in my car and drive the extra mile to spend my money here instead. read more

Many liquor stores complain that Total Wine is going to put them out of business. Seaside Wine and Liquors is the best example I've seen of why that is simply not true. COV19 started to rock NY in mid-March. It was a challenge to find things if you weren't willing to go inside yourself. Seaside had an app set-up immediately (may have been available prior, either way, they were prepared). The little shop on Merrick Road never missed a beat. Their app was a piece of cake, and we always got our order within 24 hours. They were also available for curbside pick-up immediately. The "great" Total Wine will only take you out of business if you rest on your laurels. Seaside is not one of those companies. I learned that Total Wine finally got around to doing delivery - in July. Congrats, it only took them 4 months to figure it out. What leadership! TW will take you out if you're willing to be taken out, continue to do business as usual, don't evolve with the times, don't pay attention to the changes in your customer base - that company will blame their failure on TW. Seaside is an example of the ingenuity and hustle that is needed to fight the good fight. I hope people remember the "easy" that they were able to provide during a terrible time in NY, and don't run to TW just to save a couple dollars. read more

We just moved to Wantagh 6 months ago. I love wine and I've shopped in several small stores in and around Wantagh, even going as far as Westbury. After reading some of the reviews I decided to try Seaside. I couldn't agree more with all the positive comments. I walked in and was greeted by Frank, the owner. He was happy to help me find what I was looking for and also made some suggestions that turned out to be yummy. The store is clean, bright and well organized. Prices are great too!
