We love this place for birthdays. It is a great place for a large group of friends. The food and service is usually really good! We go a lot so a few times it has t been great. But for the most part it's amazing. It's not cheap but totally worth it. They have delicious food and a great wine list. The desserts are the perfect size and there are so many delicious tastes to choose from. I love their salads! It's so neat how they bring them out in on a plate in a little plastic tube thing and when they remove the plastic tube thing, the salad is dressed. So neat. I love the salmon salad and the tuna salad equally. The salmon plank plate is also really good. They change the menu ever season and also have a weekly menu that changes. The flat breads are a great app to have to share for the table too. I really can't think of anything I don't like about this place. I recommend it. read more

We came in with a reservation made on Open Table for 8p. When we got to the restaurant there were tons of people waiting, hungry and frustrated. One older gentleman and his wife were waiting for a 7:30p reservation til about 8:30p. There were plenty of tables open but it seemed the restaurant was extremely understaffed for Valentine's dinner weekend! The reason I'm writing the review is the staff they had working that night was incredibly great at customer service. The young man manning the host stand was polite with every frustrated patron, the waitstaff was friendly and Magi who was running the show (manager) was absolutely understanding and made every accommodation she could...not just for or table but we witnessed for other tables too. Great job to the staff! As far as management- please make sure you staff your restaurant with more people to not just keep customers from gettin frustrated but to give your hard working staff a break! The location and the atmosphere are great. It's one of those places that just looks like it has exceptional food. But honestly, your experience varies depending on what you order and when you come. If you stop by on a Sunday afternoon, the crowd is fairly small and there's usually no wait. I've never had an entree (quite pricey compared to the appetizers and desserts), but I've tried several flatbreads and each one has been excellent. The Grilled Chicken Skewer appetizer was outstanding as well. And their miniature desserts are perfect potions and great selections. If you stick with the flatbreads and appetizers and then select a few mini desserts, I'm sure you'll be very pleased with your evening--excellent flavor, selection, and overall value. read more

This was my first time to eat at Seasons 52. I did not have a reservation. This is the first restaurant, that takes reservations, that did not make me feel unwelcome by not having one. They never even asked if I had a reservation. Everyone from the hostess, to my server Lana, and the Manager Jay provided amazing service. The food was fantastic. Pros: The kitchen runs like clock work and the servers were on point, even during a crazy night of service. Food came out quickly and was very good. Cons: We waited 55 mins to get a table, which we had a reservation for! Nearly an hour past a reservation is unacceptable. If you're going to seat walk ins on top of your reservations, then just don't take reservations! The hostess was on another planet. Service at the bar was atrocious. While we waited for a table, we stood in the same place at the bar with numerous bartenders and an executive chef seeing us and no one bothered to even look up and acknowledge us, nor did anyone ask if we needed a drink. It took a couple sitting at the bar to direct the bartender to us. Overall: It's a high end chain. Food was good, reasonably priced but there are plenty of local options with better service and MUCH better bar programs. It was our first time there and likely our last. read more

My husband and I decided to try the outdoor seating on Friday. We noticed there must be a new chef. The food was pretty bland and tasteless. Our server Brandi was not that great either. Luckily there was another server Cassele who was serving another table and took great care of us. We were given gift certificates to come back. We came back Saturday. Most upper scale restaurants in Birmingham do not serve lunch. We were seated immediately. The hostess and server were friendly. The server was attentive and nice. Drinks: Meyers Lemonade cocktail x 2 for the spouse and a couple Guinness' for me. My wife really enjoyed her cocktails. I was disappointed when they brought out a bottle of Guinness vs draft but I soon got over it when we got our appetizer. We started with the prosciutto and asparagus flat bread which was the perfect blend of crispy and chewy. I would recommend this starter for sure. Next we split a romain and kale Caesar which was very good with lots of shaved Parmesan and house made croutons. The mains comprised of the wood grilled filet for my wife, who wanted seafood and I had the seafood paella. My wife's steak was cooked to an absolute perfect medium rare. It was finished with a nice sauce and served with mashed potatoes, asparagus and a trio of mushrooms. The steak was phenomenal! One of the absolute best restaurant steaks we've had in some time. The paella - was a rich flavorful rice full of diced chorizo topped with muscles, mahi mahi, lobster and diver scallops. My scallops were mia when my dish was served. I made my server aware and they were eventually brought to me after I finished with my dish. All of the seafood was cooked very well. Including the scallops when I eventually got them. I was disappointed the dish wasn't served complete. Further, when they were brought the person serving them I presume was the manager didn't introduce himself or apologize just saying fresh off the grill. This was the only major hiccup in an otherwise very nice lunch. Bit pricey for lunch but this was a day date before going to Phamtom so a rare exception. I would absolutely go back. read more

Poor service and not awesome food. Normally I love seasons 52. Today the slow and poor service coupled with food that was not tasteful made me want to choose another place for a fun dinner spot. It was my sister in laws birthday and I wanted her to experience the seasons 52 birthday and they didn't do anything special. My food was inedible and the most expensive on the menu. Waitress never came back to ask how food was to tell her and we had no plates for appetizers. We got our appetizers before our drinks and before we even ordered our food because our waitress disappeared. read more

This probably my favorite restaurant for special occasions. This Mother's Day was no exception. This restaurant in Birmingham gave us a perfect table for our special request reservation. The service by Alesia was very attentive. Mother and I enjoyed a cocktail before our entree. Mother had the smoked salmon and I had the Eggs Benedict all prepared very well and served warm by a very busy kitchen. As we were finishing up our entree, the kitchen gave us another smoked salmon entree to take home. We enjoyed our dessert finale with a mocha dessert and strawberry/rhubarb cheesecake. And we had to save room for the mini dessert glasses! I really liked the key lime pie while my husband thought the coffee mousse was best. Everything was spot on. I know it's a chain restaurant but have been coming here at least for the last 3 years and it has never disappointed me or anyone else in terms of service or food. Thursday evening last week I had a blind dinner date here. It wasn't too terribly busy, but by the time we ordered our appetizer, the dinning room was getting really crowded. Our waitress was having a real stressful night and she was super apologetic towards us. It took an unusually long time for our entrees to arrive. We had to make sure that our orders where in fact, placed. Thankfully my date and I was really hitting it off so we had plenty of time to converse and get to know each other. After almost an hour of not seeing our entrees arrive, I will admit we were a little peeved, but we didn't give them a hard time. Eventually, the manager came by and apologized to us. There was a mess up on our orders, so dinner plus desserts was on the house. Our dinner ended up being a little bit over three hours long. Our planned dinner date ended up being more spontaneous than we would have liked, but we really appreciate the restaurant for making it up to us. No complaints about the food. The grilled scallops and rainbow trout was spectacular. read more

Normally I love seasons and have nothing but good things to say about their restaurants but I was sorely disappointed the night of my visit. Service started off a little weird when half the table was given lunch menus and the other dinner.. since the menus didn't say lunch/dinner it took us awhile to figure out the mistake.. once we put our order in it took close to an hour before we were served or main dishes which is a huge issue. A person who I am assuming was a manager stopped by close to 45 mins in just to say the food was on the way.. it would have been nice if we were notified of the wait ahead of time since it was due to a large party being served. The place only still gets two stars because let's face it the food is good.. I was not disappointed with the flat bread, the lamb lollipops or my beef main dish. And my dessert, yummmm! I wish they still had the raspberry one on the menu but my chocolate one hit the spot. The wait however will have me check out somewhere else next time I'm in town. read more

I was first referred to Seasons 52 due to their ever changing seasonal menu to maintain the freshest and ripest fruits and vegetables available to really expand on flavor and impact. This led up to the hype of food control quality, however I do have a few discrepancies. The atmosphere there is very airy, with an open floor plan, high ceilings, and very mod style fixtures. The service was prompt, however, our server didn't seem to know much about the menu other than her personal favorite items there (which, to me, motioned that she wasn't new, she just didn't do her homework) The food was pretty good though. We enjoyed a flatbread pizza as an appetizer and it certainly lived up to it's reputation. The entrees, however, weren't all that they had been cut out to be. The flavor was good, yes, and the food arrived in good timing, but I wasnt extremely impressed like I had hoped to be. Perhaps it was just a low-stock day, but all 4 people in my party ordered different items and we all agreed that the portions were pretty skimpy for the price. Our check was around 65 dollars, which is average for this type of restaurant, but we were all dismayed by the fact that, for the price we paid, we still felt hungry when we left. I still like to tell friends to the area to try out Seasons 52 if they're looking for something new and with a very aware sense of freshness, but I have gone to other restaurants over this one since. Perhaps next time I will just order a flat bread to myself during lunch, rather than going at dinner time and expecting a filling meal. read more
