I love coming to Seasons Best when I'm at the Farmers Market, because the smell inside is nostalgic!! It smells like fresh bread, cookies, cinnamon rolls, and more. It just gives you a warm feeling and makes you hungry... They have a freezer full of different frozen meals. Tomato pie, stew, chicken pot pie, soups, and etc. Definitely good for a quick dinner on a hot summer night when you refuse to cook!! The desserts are all yummy looking. The cheese cakes look awesome are a good portion. My sister said the chocolate chip cookie was buttery and delicious!! I got a spinach pie which was delicious as well. The prices are also reasonable. Thursday 8/15/2024 I was highly interested in this spot after seeing that they had cinnamon rolls, a sweet potato Monkey bread, and bread pudding that all looked good. Unfortunately for me, when I got there I was disappointed to find out that they only sell the cinnamon rolls & sweet potato monkey bread on the weekends. I didn't leave empty handed though as I was able to get their rum raisin bread pudding (small) for $4.75. The bread pudding was alright but very cold. It did taste a bit better when warmed up but it's nothing special. Depsite the bread pudding being a bit underwhelming, I would still be open to returning for the weekend exclusive items: cinnamon roll & sweet potato monkey bread. read more

Every time I go to Virginia Beach, I come here... Amazing things! I might add the only reason why I gave it a three star is because never once have I entered the door and felt welcome or a happy energy. I just left the store a bit ago, they were not busy. I had an older lady help me... She is the reason why I probably won't be back. The customer service lacks every time I come in here... Businesses don't realize that they may have incredible things, but the lack of kindness or customer service can make or break things. read more

It is always difficult for me to find low carb foods and I was thrilled that this bakery had a sugar-free option. What's even better is that it tasted phenomenal! If I lived in the area, I would be visiting this bakery on the regular! My friend took advantage of low prices on bagged candy (you get to choose from a lot of different candies, including a couple of sugar-free candies as well!) and was very excited with his finds. The entire dish has a dumpling, custard-like texture. While the bottom of a cobbler is usually like that, there's usually more sponginess in the middle and crispness on the top. I think they're good but don't stand out. My spouse thought the peanut butter was powdery and not creamy enough. (3/5*) -- By the Pound -- The "truffles" and peanut butter balls are priced by weight; you don't have to order by the pound, but you have to purchase 4 at the minimum. -- Cash & Credit -- They accept credit cards with a $4 minimum purchase. -- Takeaway -- I highly recommend the take-n-bake cinnamon rolls!! I like supporting local businesses and may stop by again if going to the farmers market or I'm craving cinnamon rolls. After taking a morning walk to West Neck Creek Natural Area and eating some really good Strawberry Ice Cream from Gilly's, I decided to head next door this this bakery located at the Farmers Market. Friends of mine raved about it for a while so I said 'Why not?!' Not only do their whip up dessert treats (which also include regular snacks you see in grocery store aisles and gas stations), they also cook tarts and regular food. For my sweet tooth, I ordered 2 Marshmallow kabobs covered in white chocolate. I am a complete sucker for white chocolate so I couldn't resist. When I ate them as part of my lunch, I was impressed. Their savory selection includes things like pepperoni bread, various frozen soups and prepared meals, biscuits, etc. What do I come here for? Two things: tomato tarts and their chicken pot pie. The tomato tarts are VERY addicting and tastes amazing! Whoever thought tomatoes and cheese would be such a great combo. I also got their chicken pot pie for the first time and it's the best I've ever had: perfectly season, flaky crust and chunks of real chicken. You won't be disappointed if you get those two items! I love the smell of fresh baked goods when you walk in a bakery, and when you walk in it definitely hits you! There's plenty of choices and they all looked so yummy! I went particularly for the cinnamon bun today and boy it is huge! All the middle were gone leaving the edges (which I personally don't like) so I had one to go. I also tried their sweet potato biscuits. The bun was good, plenty of brown sugar and the cream cheese frosting was very good. The sweet potato biscuit was not. It was Dry and tasted old. I also saw flies landing on the loaf of bread that was sitting on the counter and that for me is like a total turn off when it comes to wanting to try more stuff. We stopped by this bakery for a treat and we were so happy that we did! We came for the cookies, bread pudding, & truffles! I literally think the chocolate chip cookie was the best I've ever had in my life! And it was a jumbo size! We purchased the red velvet & carrot cake truffles, YUM! They were decadent & literally perfect! Of course our child loved hers! My husband loved the bread pudding too. They sell all sorts of goodies from candy to baked dog treats & more. Next time we plan on trying one of their pot pies and bread items. We loved the smell of fresh bread being made. Prices were reasonable, the woman who helped us was friendly. I have been in here a couple of times just to roam around and peek at what they had available. The smell captures you from outside. Truly fresh baked items! This last visit we ordered a few items. Our absolute favorite was the sweet potato monkey bread. I cannot rave enough about this particular item. It was heavenly. Even my husband couldn't stop complimenting the taste and texture. We agreed it was the best thing ever. Our daughters really enjoyed their chocolate covered cherries and the crazy good brownie we all shared. We stopped by here when visiting Farmer's Market while looking for a pumpkin. You can smell the apple pies baking while walking passed the bakery! This is what lead us to go inside. Omg smelled so delish when you walk in. It was a tough decision on what I wanted to try because they had so much to choose from and their apple pie not only smelled amazing...it looked amazing! They also had jumbo cinnamon rolls and pumpkin cheesecake bars that looked pretty yummy too. I could go on and on because they really had a huge variety of yummy baked goods. We chose their gigantic chocolate chip cookie, velvet truffles and their country apple mini cheesecake. Something that catches your eye and satisfies your hearts desire. There something with Season's Bakery that make then stand out compared to others and that's the quality and solid comfort sweets. Also, this is the kind of place that leaves a mark in your heart whenever you're in Farmer's Market, the first thing comes in your mind is their name. Totally agree with everyone else: The Southern Tomato Tart is out-of-this-world good and totally new, at least to me. The play between buttery crust, aromatic herbs and spices, and stewed tomatoes is one of the best flavor combinations imaginable. I could eat these daily and never tire of them. It was so good I had to go back the same day and try another of their offerings. I went with the sweet potato monkey muffin with pecans. Also outrageously good. I've walked by here several times while at the farmers market and I usually overcome my urge to go in.....today I just couldn't. I had the individual apple cheesecake and my friend had the sweet potato pecan cheesecake. My snack was very good and it was exactly what was advertised. Cheesecake and pale filling. The crust was moist and perfect. The show stealer was the sweet potato cheesecake. WOW! The layers of texture and different flavors made my snack pale in comparison. Just walking into this place and smelling the fresh baked goods makes your mouth water. This is a hidden treasure of Virginia Beach and more people need to come out and support your local bakers! I can't really eat any of the baked goods because of my gluten allergy, but they have plenty of other stuff I can have like the chocolate covered marshmallows, and chocolate covered rice krispy treats and other candy goodies. They had eggnog cheesecake and I got one of those for my hubby and he LOVED it. I will be going by again for some tasty treats. read more

It's been around a year and a half since my initial review and so I think it's time for an update. This is still the best place in the area that we have found for when that sweet tooth starts calling. The turtle cheesecake is our favorite. In fact, we just stopped in to pick one up. It beats any cheesecake around. It's made for two to split with a terrific chocolate cookie crust and topped with chocolate, caramel, and pecans. The last time I was in we bought some sweet potato monkey bread and it was so tasty. The kids loved it, too. I wish I had bought more. Unfortunately, when we just stopped in they were out so now I have to get back over soon to pick some more up. The chocolate chip cookies are huge and very good. The tomato pies are very popular and though I have only tried one, it was a nice treat and something different from the sweets. Since the initial review, they have moved up closer to the front of the Farmer's Market and they have much more space now. Though I cannot discount the experience of the reviewer who had a negative interaction with the owner, it contradicts all of our experiences. The owners, John and Barbara, are always friendly and John remembers my name every time I stop in. So, we have pleasant interactions with them each time. I HIGHLY recommend that you give this place a try. I can almost guarantee you will love it! read more

I have been looking for a place that sells freshly baked chocolate chip cookies (other than Toll House at Pembroke Mall}. In a search of bakeries, I found Season's Best at the Farmers Market. When I walked in, I saw no chocolate chip cookies in the display cases and thought it was another failed attempt. I asked if they had any, and they said "only big ones" and pulled out a huge cookie the size of a pancake! They talked me into getting 3 of them for $7.50! That's high for 3 cookies! But when I got home and took a bite, I started doing the Daniel Bryan "YES" chant! I was tempted to go out and get some ice cream to go with them, but I still have some pounds to lose, and the kids & wife didn't need it either. Nonetheless, there will be a reunion between me and those cookies in the very near future. The staff was very excited about their products, and were very friendly. It took me four month to get to this review, but I didn't forget. I'd like to start off by first saying the bakery itself was amazing as was the tomato tart. I would have given Seasons Best a full five stars had there been no interaction with the owner. Apparently the owners style of hospitality is the dry and cold sort. At least I know that it wasn't personal, because the other patrons received the same brash service. I was genuinely blown away by the tomato tart and made a point to compliment and thank her. When we first walked in, we were immediately overwhelmed with all the delicious treats to choose from. This place is cute, smaller than I had expected. You cannot help but go inside as you walk by since the smell outside it absolutely intoxicating. A gluten consumers dream come true. I am a believer! The tomato tarts here really live up to all the hype. Tomato silces layered in gooey cheese and spices and baked to perfection in a flaky buttery crust. It's rich and filling, and the Man and I usually share one, but only because we end up buying a bunch of other delicious baked goods to try as well. I wish with all my heart I could leave a better review than my previous one for this charming little store, but unfortunately, things haven't really changed. Daughter and I walked in recently and the two women behind the counter continued their conversation without even turning around. While my daughter chose what she wanted, three other customer groups came in, looked around, stood for a moment, and left without being acknowledged. When we were ready to pay, we stood for a minute, and when one lady came to the register, she was polite, but still not what I would call friendly. I left with the impression that I was butting into their day. I will order from a website next time-I can probably find the same merchandise, and the atmosphere will certainly be more warm and friendly. I'm updating my review because I've discovered some new favorites at the best, bomb-diggity bakery in the Tidewater area. After being diagnosed with the flu, I was craving soup to soothe my aches and pains, so after a visit to the doctor, we headed for "homemade heaven". My usual order consists of a pan of chicken potpie (to die for!) and Beef and Vegetable Soup. Yesterday I thought I'd try my family sick-bed remedy and snagged a quart of Chicken and Dumpling Soup (don't forget to grab your dumplings wrapped in foil, ready to be tossed into your soup to cook up until they're tender and this recipe rocketed to my number one spot)! Don't forget to grab some sweet potato biscuits to go with your soup. It's good for what ails you. You'll feel like Momma's come to visit. My girl and I loved the Chicken and Dumplings soup so much, she's making the trek back to Farmers Market today to buy two more quarts to nurse me back to health. I promise you, just smelling it will make you feel better. If you've got a sweet tooth hankering, snag some Peach Cobbler and some Bread Pudding while you're there. All of their soups and desserts freeze perfectly. You can get your cobbler and pudding in large or small containers. Depends on how much self-control you have! LOL! Honestly, you can't lose at this place. They have two freezers full of a variety of soups and stews, but if you're lucky, you'll get there just in time to get it fresh out of the bubbling deliciousness pot!
