Sat the bar. They had nightly specials for food and drinks. I had wine. Pours were at least 5, maybe 6 oz. Decently priced and good variety of cocktails, beer and wine. Menu has a lot of different items. Took me awhile to decide but settled on a lamb burger due to spinach, tomato l and feta. The salad was large for a side. Lettuce crisp. Croutons might be in-house. Overall great value and an easy dinner staying at hotel. Will be back again tonight due to rain. Service was spot on even with a full bar of patrons. Traveling to Syracuse for work, found that Seasons Tavern had good reviews for a burger which I was craving. Good burger if a little pricey. It's in the Double Tree hotel, you can sit at the bar or they have tables. Not fancy but the food is very good. The French fries are really good, not those coated frozen fries that so many places serve. Real French fries. Also had the fried cheese curds on a different day. Conveniently near Carrier Circle motels, this gem is inside the Double Tree. There is no signage at all. Menu has quality interesting selection. This was a Groupon deal. We could even remember where this was, then realized it was the restaurant in the Doubletree. So we knew the food would be overpriced and smaller ( and it was) but the Groupon was for 50% off. It was empty and we were seated easily by the hostess. The waitress, Kim, was seasoned at waitressing. Very attentive to us. I ordered the seared tuna and my wife had the fish and chips. The fish and chips were great but the seared tuna was ok. The mash and asparagus were good. The tuna seemed as though it was frozen or purchased already season with sesame seed. After dinner we chatted with the waitress and as it turns out her family owned and operated one of my favorite hand crafted pizzas in a brick oven. In fact, I still believe it was the best pizza shop in town One thing waitress did that never happened to me before. My wife and I are staying at the Doubletree hotel in East Syracuse and we opted to have dinner this evening at the Seasons Tavern at the hotel. For starters we had drinks. My wife had the house Moscato and she liked it. I had a Crown Royal Manhattan that was delicious, but it was by far the smallest Manhattan I've ever had, and they charged me $12.00 for it! That's my only criticism and why I rated this restaurant 4 stars and not 5. My wife ordered the soup and salad special for $12.00 and she thought it was great, especially the cream of broccoli soup. I had a cup of the French Onion Soup and a Caesar Salad with chicken and I really enjoyed my choices. Our server was Tori and she took great care of us. The menu choices were diverse and so many things sounded good. Again my only criticism was the size of my Manhattan (sorry I can't let go of that!). My recommendation is if you you order a cocktail stick with wine or beer. read more

I'm coming at this review from a few different ways: a lunch customer, a visitor for a Yelp event, and a attendee at a company event held at the DoubleTree/Seasons. I'm very pleased to say that in all cases, I was very impressed with what this hotel and restaurant has to offer. If you are familiar with the DoubleTree in Syracuse but haven't been inside lately, you will be pleasantly surprised on your next visit - they have undergone a complete renovation in the lobby and restaurant area as well as putting in a brand new patio seating area. The lobby boasts a modern, open layout that welcomes you in with some fireplaces, large furniture, and a new bar set up. If you are staying at the hotel, this would be a great spot to come down for a drink, watch one of the TV's, or get some work done on the comfortable couches. If you find yourself in Syracuse during the warmer months (oxymoron?), the patio is a nice spot to get outside and have lunch or dinner. The patio is adjacent to the combination indoor/outdoor pool and is convenient for grabbing a drink and catching some rays. On some nights the hotel has entertainment on the patio and they apparently do trivia as well during the summer. There are also some of the aforementioned comfortable couches and chairs that are smartly located next to some outdoor fire pits. So, the surroundings are nice. How is the food? For lunch, the menu is a nice mix of American favorites as well as some daily specials and soups of the day. I tried the soup and salad bar (standard fare, but good), the chicken spiedie appetizer (excellent), and the poutine with duck confit (very good). Service was good, but not great, but it seemed like the staff was adjusting to the new layout and the increased focus on lunches so I'm willing to give them a pass. For the event I attended, I was very pleased with the various foods that were put out. My favorite were the Bavarian hot pretzels served with the Middle Ages Beer cheese dip. It was seriously good. The cheese, vegetable, and cracker choices were on point and presentation was excellent. I would feel very comfortable using the DoubleTree as a host for a personal or business event. Finally, I have yet to visit this hotel and restaurant and not left feeling like the staff has done its absolute best to make sure you feel welcome. It's easy to assume that all hotels should value customer service, but it's quite refreshing when you get the impression that the smiles are genuine! Top marks for this! Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the cookie. You'll have to visit to find out about the cookie. Hint - it's worth a visit. read more

MCCK Syracuse Hotel LLC recently completed a multimillion-dollar renovation of the 250-room DoubleTree by Hilton at 6301 State Route 298, just off Carrier Circle. The renovations included refreshed guest rooms; a new lobby with a glass fireplace surrounded by casual seating; a relocated hotel bar; updated public areas and event spaces, and a new restaurant concept, Seasons Tavern. I was lucky enough to attend a Yelp Elite event at Seasons. The first thing you immediately notice walking into the DoubleTree is the renovation. The money was definitely spent well, as the hotel now has a sleek, modern, classy and comfortable look to it, with nice comfy chairs, and a fire place in the huge lobby, adjacent to the equally as nice new bar area. We were lead to the Seasons Tavern area, near the back of the building. The new outside patio and pool area is also very nice, and we also had some great live music playing during the event. There was a huge offering from Seasons Taverns menu, including charcuterie selections, pretzels with cheese, fresh made chips, two different styles of flatbread pizzas, spinach artichoke dip, crap dip, and samples of their Seasons Tavern Chicken Club, a sandwich of grilled chicken with bacon, Swiss, arugula, and Mostarda on a ciabatta roll. Everything was delicious. I especially liked the chicken sandwich, as the mostarda gave it a sweet, interesting flavor. Seasons was also nice enough to provide us an open bar and a Yelp exclusive contest, which was extremely kind of them. The general manager and head chef both spoke to us and thanked us for being there, and their chef informed us that the Seasons name was chosen as they plan to change their menu every season. The service was great, as plenty of servers waited on us and were all extremely efficient and friendly. All in all, this was a great event! A great place with great staff that welcomed us, wanted us there, provided great food, great service, and good times. I will definitely be back! read more

This is honesty the best Mac &Cheese I've ever had. Despite the title that beer is used in it, you cannot taste it, but if it is what makes the flavors in this dish "sing" then don't change a thing! This is the most buttery, velvety, creamy Mac & Cheese. If you want comfort food after a long day of travel (it is in a hotel)...or if you just need some comfort and you live locally- this is what you need! Oh - I cannot forget the service. Fantastic- the servers know the dishes so they can speak with authority on any recommendations- they are attentive without being intrusive- and the are sincerely interested in serving you. After a huge renovation the Double Tree has created a fantastic restaurant to compliment their hotel. It doesn't matter if your staying at the hotel or just coming in for a meal, both are welcome. The inside of the restaurant is extremely open, roomy, and very clean feeling. The staff are quick to seat you and give you their menu. They have both the regular menu and the seasonal menu with delicious specials on it. I decided to go simple today and gobble down a delicious burger. It was cooked to perfection and the patty slightly broke as I ate it. This told me that the burger itself was hand formed and more than likely fresh beef. It was piled high with cheese and bacon by request and the bun was perfectly toasted. On the side was a basket of delicious fries and a pickle spear. All of the food was extremely tasty! Price wise, they are right in line with your average Syracuse restaurant. My wife and I had our meals with water and I paid 33 bucks before Tip. All in all a great price for a great meal! read more

We came to a yelp event here months ago and I'm not sure why it took so long to come back because I do work right around the corner. But this Valentines Day my fiancé picked me up and work to take me to a nice lunch since he had the day off. The wait staff was very pleasant and remembered us from the event. They came over quickly to get our drink order and greet us. Dave had a burger and fries and I had chicken wing dip poutine. They used housemate potato chips which I wasn't sure about but the chips are thick and crisp enough to hold up to the dip. It was delicious and now that I know I can get in and out within the hour I'll probably be more prone to head back sooner than later. read more

Tonight Naomi and I were invited to come to the Double Tree's new restaurant. First things first without even getting to the restaurant at hand. The hotel has just undertaken a renovation on a massive scale that was completed this spring, and I can say that just as a hotel this place is amazing inside and out. The parking lot is massive and has a huge welcoming front entrance, with giant fireplaces and soft colors that just make you feel comfortable and right at home. There is a super friendly staff that just exceeds the definition of hospitality. I haven't seen the actual rooms yet but I'll bet they will exceed your expectations as well. Now as to the reason we came tonight, we were invited with open arms by the hotel to sample their food offerings which their head chef came out and spoke to us and explained how they will change with a seasonal menu and show off their patio and pool space which was enormous and the suites looked down upon it. They again impressed me with their staff and how they continually brought out fresh food even after it was obvious that we were all stuffed to capacity. They brought in a wonderful ambient musician who was super talented we basically had the whole space to ourselves and it was a beautiful night and a beautiful facility. I was even impressed that the general manager and all the event planners came out to meet us and I was even able to ask them about my upcoming wedding to use their facility for certain aspects of that. Now the food was fantastic and we were given a buffet type setup to sample numerous offerings from pretzels with a local IPA beer cheese, to a charcuterie complete with meats and cheeses (maple cheddar is an amazing thing) and small sandwiches and fried cod and dips and pizzas, all topped off with an open bar. I am a huge fan of beer cheese and pretzels and their cheese was packed full of flavor and had a nice finishing heat to it as well. They had a chicken sandwich as well that was memorable that was coated in a herb rub of sorts that had a fantastic rosemary flavor and wonderful chewy bacon that hadn't been cooked to a crisp which made that sandwich perfect and topped it with mustard and a peppery arugula which was lovely, I'm always on a search for a perfect sandwich and this ranks right up there as well made and I'd love to try the full size version of it. Long story short, I plan on trying to use this hotel for my wedding coming up and inviting my own family and guests to use and enjoy themselves. And I see no reason as to why they shouldn't. They take hospitality to a whole new level and I'm sure you will enjoy it here as well. I'll definitely be back to try a full proper meal after the chef said pork belly sliders are on his list of winter options. read more

Stayed here at the Doubletree where this restaurant is located. Was going to head out to look for pizza in the neighborhood but, most of the places were closed and I didn't feel like driving too far. I checked this little restaurant out downstairs and was blown away at how good everything we ordered was. Everything from the waitress, the cleanliness of restaurant, the efficiency and all the way to the food presentation was just awesome. We ordered a couple 4 cheese pizzas that were made fresh and very tasty. The chicken wings were perfectly cooked and sauce was yummy. The lamb burger was excellent, tons of flavor and juicy. The chicken ceaser salad was huge, and they even had fresh cheese curds that my son devoured. We will be stopping in here again and again when we are near. If you want a great meal do not hesitate to stop in here; also there is a pretty big menu (that I forgot to take a pic of) that has so many delicious offerings, that I think anyone can find something yummy! read more

I usually do not eat where I sleep but I was so tired I thought I would give it a try - We were not disappointed. Regular burger was excellent and my Wife really enjoyed her Turkey burger saying bun was excellent. Came with fries that were again surprisingly good and the Waitress knew I was Canadian and brought white vinegar - yeah For $4 extra came with salad bar and soup that although simple spread was all of high quality. Great service. Atmosphere however is a bit cold and noisy since basically open and just off the lobby We had breakfast here in the morning and again all high quality. Sausages were exceptional and melon and strawberries were very good for this time of year. read more

Good food. Just want to clarify for all: this "tavern" is in the lobby of the Double Tree Hotel. It's a relaxing atmosphere with good service, but it is not a typical tavern and calling it a "restaurant" is a little misleading. The chairs were less than comfortable for eating - or even drinking in. Convenient for sure - but not someplace that I'd recommend if you aren't staying there. read more

Pleasant surprise for a hotel dining experience. Started off with super friendly and knowledgable staff (Colleen). Great options a bit different than expected. Was with a group of five, we all tried something different. I had the beet/goat cheese/ chicken salad w a cup of soup. Nicely presented and very fresh! We were dining later in the evening, after 9pm. Seems like the lighting is very bright, would have prefered a bit dimmer, a small complaint. Would certainly eat here again. read more

I started out with a sampling of Seasons Tavern this past summer. After tasting the flavors offered at this restaurant before, I was given a gift certificate to spend at this establishment and I even looked forward to trying it out in a full experience. I brought my children and had a lovely outing with them. The food is very tasty but a little over priced for what you get. I was not really impressed with the greeting of the hostess who looked as if I offended her by showing up with my very well behaved children, ages 13, 13, 10, & 9. She barely spoke to us and made it seem as if our existence was a problem. Keep in mind that the entire restaurant was empty when we arrived and my call ahead revealed reservations were not required nor even needed. Prior to ordering I presented our gift certificate per the request of the certificate and we were assured there would not be any problem. We had our meal and everything went relatively smooth until the end. The waitress dropped off the check and I noticed an extra charge. I asked what it was and she replied with, "oh when you use a gift certificate, you're still responsible for gratuity so we just add it on at 18%". I was not at all impressed since the fee that was added was hidden and there was a very clear spot to add an additional gratuity in case you didn't see you were already charged one. It seemed like a rather deceitful approach especially since the waitress did not make any mention of that practice when the certificate was offered in the beginning of the interaction. Here's the thing, I would typically tip 20% or more if the experience was positive and true waitress effort made. She was good but when I asked her about the gratuity charge, she got VERY offended and said I should leave more. I honestly felt like I was talking to my young teenaged daughter when she is in a snit. Not the person to represent a company. The food: it was actually pretty good. Flavorful, well presented, and the ingredients seemed very fresh. The ciabatta bread was amazing! I did mention before that the cost was a little more than what the food was worth but I honestly wonder if I just didn't feel like paying at all because of the people interactions I have had at this place. I would give the food 3.5 stars bc there is not a lot of variety but taste was good. I would give the people 1 Star, so I averaged it to 2 stars. I had such higher hopes for this place, but I don't think I will ever bother coming back. Addition to review: when I attempted to discuss my experience with the manager on duty on the day of check out, I was told that the gratuity charge notification was on the gift certificate. This is the same paperwork that I had to relinquish at time of check in. So essentially, they have disclosed their practices but taken away the opportunity to review the fine print as soon as possible. Just very disappointing and not good practice. Can't believe this is a hotel restaurant!!! I had the best salmon I've had in ages. Seasoned and cooked perfectly. The salad bar included homemade soup that was out of this world! The staff was friendly, attentive and pleasant. One drawback was there was a very large group at the bar which made the whole area noisy. But noisy restaurants just seem to be the norm these days. This restaurant is located in the Doubletree off Carrier Circle giving you plenty of free parking. The restaurant is right off the main lobby and has a nice atmosphere. There is a salad bar, the menu wasn't large but that didn't bother me, there was a nice variety. I had the fish and chips and my husband had the tuna, both where delicious, thumps up to the cook. Our waitress was fantastic, Kim is the main reason I gave them the 5 stars. She was very friendly, easy to talk to, very attentive but the best was and I never had anyone do this before, when she gave us our bill and credit card back, she handed the card back to my husbands and said for him to put it back in his wallet. Now for those of us who have walked out without our credit card, I think this should be a practice that all waiters and waitresses should do. I tried to order from Seasons today, first it took forever to even get someone to answer the phone. I have a Groupon Voucher, but did not have the voucher with me so did not see initially that it was dine in only. BUT,I called the restaurant first to specifically ask if I could use it on a to go order and was told "Sure you can use it on take out!". Then I called back once we knew what we wanted to order, only to be told (after being put on hold several times for several minutes), that they could not take the voucher for to go orders. I realize I missed that it said that, but they were NOT ACCOMMODATING in the slightest and the server BRENDA said I should have gotten a name of the person that told me that, because she asked everyone that was working there & no one owned up to telling me they could take the Groupon on a to go order. And since she was the one that had to ring it up they should have checked with her. I will never eat here or recommend the tavern or the hotel to anyone!! She was just rude and pretty much called me a liar. read more
