The most troubling situation was on the third day, we came back to our room door propped open. We had requested our room to be serviced at 10 am that morning before we left. The house keepers were working in the hallway and we asked them to give us more towels. We closed our door and went on for the day. You can imagine the horror when we came home to an open door to our room. We were told by the front desk receptionist Kimberly that the hotel housekeepers propped their doors open after they finish cleaning the rooms so the manager can inspect the rooms. She apologized profusely, saying that it was an oversight. For almost 12 hours our door was open. The housekeeping manager, Kayla did reach out to us the following day and left message apologizing for leaving our door open. After returning home, we called and left several messages, but heard from no one. Several staff members kept saying that's their protocol. Leaving the door opened once they finished cleaning for inspection. I can understand if the guest has checked out for the day. But when you have guests like us who are staying several days, that protocol is a terrible one. There has to be changes made to make sure your guests don't feel violated. We will never come back to this hotel!

Very close to Syracuse University. They also hooked us up with a bottle of wine. Beds were comfy and the main lobby, even though a mess, was nice to sit around and watch other football games. I'd probably come back here as the cost wasn't to bad and there are quite a bit of things around here. The downside is that the city seemed to close early but that could have been because it was Thanksgiving weekend.

We got a king suite with a separate kitchen and sitting area, as we were not leaving our room much due to surgery. The room was spotless, the bed was so comfortable and there were a lot of pillows. You could have parked a Buick in the bathroom! We ended up being done with our medical appointments two day early. They were unable To refund our room (which they were not obligated to do anyway) but willingly gave us one free nights stay voucher. How wonderful is that! So accommodating and nice. The two staff ladies at the desk were so kind to us. This hotel has a "wall of fame" where you can see a few of the stars who have stayed there. It's in the heart of a city circle area where there are some shops and restaurants to walk to. Again, we were only able to leave for a bit (for our sanity) but it's location was perfect for a walk. We found one that only charged us ten bucks for the night. We were in town for a concert at the Landmark, which is literally across the street. After the concert ended, we were back in our hotel room in about five minutes. There are also tons of great bars and restaurants all within a few blocks. Our room was clean and spacious enough for two people, and the bathroom was roomy and clean.

The staff here was very helpful, accommodating, and easy to work with when booking the conference room. They were equally helpful when I arrived and needed access. The room had a TV in it as well as a large table and it was comfortable for the all day meeting we had. Regarding my staff, checking in was great. The folks at the front desk were friendly and helpful. They have an M Club here, which I visited a couple of times. I wanted bottled water, which they don't have in the M Club, rather you need to get it from the front desk. They use water refilling stations in the M Club, which I hate when staying in a hotel, I'd rather have the bottled water in the fridge in my room, so I'm glad they were able to accommodate me on this. The guy working the M Club both times I visited (in the evenings) was great, friendly too! The hotel itself is BEAUTIFUL! Honestly, I stay in hotels weekly and I'm pretty much done with the typical design of the average Marriott and this one breaks that mold! It's historic, beautifully renovated, perfectly operational, and centrally located. My room was very nice! They upgraded me to a suite and when they told me this during check in, I wasn't too impressed, as I hear that I'm "upgraded" all the time, but when I get to the room, they look typical. This room was HUGE! It had a living room, two king size bedrooms, and two full baths in it. The living room had a nice desk and plenty of seating for a family. There were also 3 TVs in this room. Bathrooms in the rooms were beautifully renovated to have a period look and they worked nicely. Housekeeping even did a nice job keeping everything polished in this room. The first clerk kept saying to come back in an hour because they only had one housekeeper, but nobody ever called with an update. When I returned, a different clerk suddenly claimed they couldn't even find my reservation anymore. The whole experience felt incredibly shady, especially during graduation weekend when hotels were charging higher rates. Honestly felt like they were trying to push cancellations to resell rooms for more money. On top of that, the property looked dirty and rundown. Ended up canceling and staying somewhere else. Avoid this place.

If you are a light sleeper.. as in you don't like sunlight you will be waking up early! The blinds don't block out much light once the sun comes up. They have an ice machine on first floor and also a water fountain! Love that. Parking can be hard since there's a lot of trucks in the parking lot.
