On April 22 I made a conscious decision to go in to urban feed and garden to purchase a tree for my…read morewife's birthday, instead of going to a box store to support a local business in my neighborhood. I paid about 40% more for a tree, a one inch caliper hornbeam in a plastic pot. The tree had a little bit of leaf burn on its new growth, but I chalked that up to being root bound in a pot, so I purchased the tree. I was landscape contractor for years, I have planted hundreds of trees so I planted this tree giving it the best possible chance for survival. With regular watering the leaf burn continued to spread, even though I held off on fertilizing the tree, until it showed signs of some growth so I wouldn't burn it or shock it. Last week I pulled it out of the ground because it was completely dead, when I did there was zero root development. Anyway, I know from experience that sometimes new plants just die but when I was running a landscape construction I warranted every plant I ever sold to a customer. If a plant died within the first year, I would replace it. I could usually bring these plants back to the vendor and exchange them for a new one, but those were real nurseries like Gurneys or Molbaks. I called this nursery and explained what I've written above and they told me they couldn't help me, I even asked if they would just give me another tree and they declined. We live in a different world, where accountability and responsibility are foreign to a lot of people. I won't be going back to Urban And garden.

Lovely decorated Christmas trees for the season (I liked the candy-themed one), abundant Christmas decor and ornaments, as well as kitchen and of course plants and gardening tools. A range of prices. Located just off a main road on the Federal Way side (but also shows up as Auburn address, both are okay as far as I know). Has parking. We went for a holiday mixer. The staff was fabulous. Friendly and helpful. The space was welcoming. They had drinks and snacks on offer. I was pretty impressed that the drinks were given in real glasses! A classy affair.

I went to this nursery with my wife over the weekend not knowing a single thing about gardening. We wanted to spruce up our patio but have had a bad history with plants as they always seem to perish before they bloom. We were approached by Mr Rick outside in the garden area and were asked if we needed assistance. Not only did he take the time to explain to us what might work best for us he also gave us plenty of options when it came to budget. You can tell that Mr Rick truly loves his work and is passionate about this nursery. Now, not only is Watson's beautiful but the prices are very very reasonable. The selection is huge and they even had some more exotic plants. The entire experience made this new adventure worthwhile for my wife and I. Also, if you see Mr Hobbs, give him a nice belly rub.

I feel like companies that might not be considered that same caliber get beat up so I wanted to acknowledge what happened to us today. As customers we can come into a store with a chip on our shoulder already and we take it out on the staff. I remember the times I was on their side and had to descalate a customer issue. And I'm not saying that staff are perfect, or don't give attitude to customers, because it happens. When I am in those situations where I see how hard they are working to help the customer I choose gratitude and acknowledge that I appreciate them. A little kindness goes a long way. We stopped by around 2p and again at 4p: While, unfortunately, we had to cancel one of pick up items I want to express how amazing our experience was. The 1st visit was to discuss a replacement for the batteries. And the CS staff was awesome, while still being short staffed. The manager who worked with us after to see if we could get a replacement was also so nice. Unfortunately, the other pick up item, a tool chest, was dented when we got home so I immediately turned around and did an exchange and again the team at CS and pick up were incredible. During the holidays customers, I know, can be extra demanding and when you're short staffed it can affect morale but each person I engaged with went above and beyond and for that we are appreciative!

If the store advertises wood cutting, someone should actually be available to do it. Otherwise, don't waste customers' time with a help button that clearly does nothing.
