After very smooth and easy scheduling, Doug and Peter were able to arrive the next day, diagnose the root cause, and return the next day with a clear solution that worked. Doug and Peter were both professional, kind, and able to translate the issue to us in terms we can understand. They provided us very fair pricing and value, and made it simple to pay online. This very positive experience with Doug and Peter has opened our mindw to making Ben's Plumbing Heating & Air our go-to for future service needs beyond water heater issues (i.e. Plumbing, HVAC, Water line servicing).

Due to drops of water appearing on the exterior underside of the overhang below my kitchen sink I suspected a small leak. After researching plumbers I chose Ben's Plumbing based on their positive reviews and BBB accreditation, switching from the firm we had used several times in the past. Derek and Taylor arrived and were able to find the general area of the leak. In order to expose the pipes and pinpoint the leak, they concluded that a hole would need to be cut in the groove-and-tongue staggered planks that formed the underside of the overhang. Though they could cut the hole if I wished, they suggested that I have it done by a specialist for aesthetic reasons; Ben's could then return and fix the exposed pipe. I followed their suggestion. After the pipes were exposed I was able to locate the very wee leak. Ben's Plumbing then sent Derek and Taylor to do the repair. They did excellent work, and the total cost was very reasonable with no surprises. The office staff I communicated with (via text) to set up the two appointments, Michelle and Kiera, were a pleasure to deal with.

tldr - if it's related to HVAC, call the installer of your HVAC system if possible…read more I called Green Bear to take a look at an HVAC system (on second floor) that was leaking water on the 1st floor ceiling (due to AC condensation). They sent someone over, who didn't really open the HVAC system panel much. I didn't seem confident that this would fix it. But they recommended to fix the drain pan inside the evaporator coil box, which they said was much more expensive. For clearing the drain pipe and gluing a loose pipe, which didn't actually fix the main problem, they still billed me $300 - diagnostic fee ($99) + 1 hour ($199) - (there's a 3% credit card fee, but they accept checks) 4 or 5 hours later, there was dripping again. I ended up calling Bob's, they sent 2 technicians who knew what they were doing (they opened the panel properly), they found and fixed the issue - it did not involve replacing a drain pan. Bob's only charged me the diagnostic fee of $175 and did the job right (compared to $300 that Green Bear charged)
