There are four locations in the area with the Downtown Seattle location in my opinion to be the best of them. Two floors of shopping, with the women's section on top and the men's and housewares on the lower level. Pricing is fairly moderate, though some items seem overpriced for the quality. They do carry a number of good brands like Levis here, but most I am not all that familiar with. They also seem to carry a decent selection of novelty shirts, though I do not know what makes these "urban". On occasion, the sales racks have some good deals. Though it feels like shopping at a thrift store since the section is sometimes a mess and the arrangement of the racks is random as opposed to Macy's file them by size method. I have to say that I do like Urban Outfitters. They do carry trendy, city-dweller apparel which helps to diversify my wardrobe. But it is one of those places that I only check out on occasion. I am in the unfortunate situation of having to replace everything I own after my house was destroyed by my neighbors trees (yes, trees is plural) during the bomb cyclone in November. There have been many downs and some ups - and shopping at this LV with Dean has certainly been a highlight! Let me start with - I live in Woodinville. Bellevue is way more convenient. But the Bellevue LV staff doesn't have anything compared to Dean. The Bellevue LV staff treats your experience like a casual transaction. Dean, on the other hand, is top notch. Shopping with him is worth the tolls and the parking - he is patient, friendly, personable, and fun. He remembers all the small details you mention throughout conversation. He listens to what you're looking for. He brings suggestions and recommendations. He is the best! I came in and ordered some bags and mentioned how my daughter (4 yo) really wanted to come with me, but I felt it would be stressful. When the bags arrived, he suggested I come back with my daughter to pick them all up at once and make it a memorable experience - and - it was certainly that. We were treated like VIP - Dean made my daughter feel like she was making all the choices and told her stories about the bags and how they got their names. We had chocolates (it was Valentine's Day, after all) and even left with a special treat - personalized luggage tags. I cannot stress this enough - I love LV - but it is the Deans of the world who make me love it even more. When I visited this store, there were three staff members standing together having a loud personal conversation about a social issue, completely disengaged from customers, just chatting among themselves loudly so it consumed my in store experience. The husky blonde aggressively asked "can I help you find anything" about 3 times, not in a welcoming way but in a "buy something or leave" way. Not "Can I help you find anything?" Which you only need to ask once? Not 3 times in increasingly aggressive tones. The combination of staff ignoring customers while socializing, followed by confrontational behavior, made the environment hostile enough that I left without purchasing anything ( and now I'll get the robe I wanted for less at Dillards online, that I would have bought in store yesterday). If downtown retail wants to survive, basic professionalism, awareness, and customer respect shouldn't be optional.
