David did a great job on my massage! I had never had one before but David made sure to sit down with me prior and talk it through with me before hand. He was very personable and introduced himself even though he had just finished an appointment and I was early (my fault). I felt comfortable and the receptionist was very kind as well. Ok, I normally never review anywhere but they managed to turn my bad day back into a good one. I had originally made an appointment at a different massage place in Fremont weeks in advance only to have them cancel on me as the LMT was out sick. Things happen but it was a whole ordeal and I went online looking for a place to do a same-day massage. Well, Seattle Massage Oasis pulled up and they happened to have an afternoon appointment available. I was sort of worried on my way there that booking through online would not do me well after what happened with the other place but right when I got there, Patti greeted me with my name and had me wait. It is a very small office but I only spent a few minutes in there. Courtney was my massage therapist. He was very nice and gave me more input about my pain and helped me understand where to go from here. I have extreme chronic back pain and I'm only 20. I thought the massage would be more of a treat myself kind of thing (it still was) but it was actually way more helpful. He helped me understand why I should come back in 2 weeks which is something I needed to understand cause I usually never treat my body to these kind of things. He was more informative than my own doctor who won't diagnose me. He got it through to me that I need to see an Orthopedist which I am absolutely going to do ASAP. I went in for a 'treat for myself' massage and picked the 90 minute Ultra Healing Boost and Take Home Product massage. The massage was good. but the take home product is all hype and very little product. At the end of my session, I was handed a 1 inch diameter tiny container of product like what was used for my massage. When I opened it, half the contents were gone. Really? Maybe don't say clients will be given product since what I got hardly counts. Feel kind of cheated by the description and then the reality of what I got. read more

I have a bulging disk that has been causing a shooting pain down my left leg. I have been to several massage therapists in the past few months and none of them were any help. I explained my issue to patti and she immediately knew what was wrong and where the pain was originating. I don't know how she was doing it, but she would feel around my muscles and find where the tension built up. I typically go for cheaper massages, but Patti was worth every penny to ease my pain. *EDITED After reading all of the fantastic reviews I booked an hour long table massage with Brandon. Every bit of this hour was terrible. From the oddly selected music (dance and rock music for a massage??) to having the table situated directly under an air vent, I started out already slightly uncomfortable. When he started the massage he used so much pressure I was beginning to think I'd done something to make him want to hurt me. My muscles twitched, snapped, and strained away from his every touch as half of the deep massage was completely dry. No oil at all. Just clammy hands rubbing my skin, pinching my flesh, and poking me a few times with fingernails. Even after asking him to let up on the pressure (which he seemed to do for 15 min) I still felt like he was playing guitar with my tendons, digging his fingers into me but not relieving ANY tenseness or pain. You'd think a licensed massage therapist should be able to tell that the client is in pain and not feeling it. At one point he had me lay on my back so he could roll his arms under me while I was laying down on them. I don't know if that technique is supposed to feel good, if so, he does not know how to do it. This was my first real deep massage and I went in expecting to get some relief from my tense and achy muscles from my job but all I left with was a contact burn on my skin that lasted 2 days (Not kidding. He gave me an indian burn on all of my shoulders and neck), in MUCH more pain, and I'm nearly $100 poorer. I don't know if its just this particular therapist, but I wish I could get my money back. **UPDATE: Patti was kind enough to invite me back for a complementary massage after this experience and I am so incredibly grateful for this! The new room was much more comfortable and I appreciated the variety of choices I had for the massage oil. (The minty arnica is divine). Patti has a wonderful, easy going energy and I felt comfortable with her instantly. The massage I reviv was fantastic. My sciatic nerve pain has had less flare ups since my massage and after over a year of daily muscle tightness & achiness in my back-FINALLY some relief!!! I have already recommended her to a handful of people and I can't wait to go back and get more relief for my chronic back pain. read more

I usually have trouble finding someone who can use enough pressure with deeper tissue and find that balance of not using their bony elbow exclusively to do so. I do crossfit twice a week and have been suggested to get monthly maintenance massage. I lost contact with my previous massage therapist and didn't have any drive to find a new one until this week when my upper back (shoulders and neck) ache even without moving. I was able to book a same-day appointment with Rielle, who did major work on my upper back. Rielle was very thorough with the deep tissue massage. She started by loosening the fascia, the layer between skin and muscles. Then she got to work with my back, which she described as all tied up and knotted together. It was truly deep tissue massage, the type that hurt but felt good. She was also very knowledgeable about anatomy and was able to answer questions on which spot is what, and how the muscles are connected. At Seattle Massage Oasis you will be treated to a superior massage by Patti Abbott. Patti is a wonderful masseus. She will literally knead the aches right out of your muscles. She works with you to get the right pressure. She is capable of massaging me with enough strength (very few female masseusses are able to). Yet, while some massages that are strong enough leave you in pain, Patti is able to use the finesse she has learned in her more than 10 years of experience to leave you feeling wonderful and stress free at the end of your massage. Not only is Patti great, she even accepts insurance!!! (sadly my insurance, although accepted by her, does not cover it.) However, it is worth it to me to see Patti on a regular basis. I can not recommend her enough. Don't waste your money on someone trying to lear to save a few dollars. Patti is very reasonably priced and stellar at her craft. Give her a call, you'll be glad you did! (PS. Her location is on Westlake on the water. Wonderful view out of her street level office into the marina. After several less-than-ideal massages over the last few years, I've been a bit apprehensive about getting another. Seattle Massage Oasis is a diamond in the rough. Where others use too much pressure, Erica uses just enough. Where others made me feel like another body on the conveyor belt, Erica made me comfortable, welcome and appreciated. Where others seemed to treat their trade as a job, Erica conveys care and treats her skill as a passion and her patients as people. You're not going to get the 'big spa' experience here. The water doesn't have cucumber in it, there's no steam room and no gym-sized locker room for changing. What you do get is personal attention, a person that listens to what you want to get out of it and a great massage. I don't have any severe chronic pain nor any acute problems that have come up, I just felt like treating myself to something nice. I had turned my eye from massage due to some previous poor experiences. A friend recommended I give it a go, so decided to give Seattle Massage Oasis a chance and am so glad I did. The treatment table is warmed (a huge plus) and they have a variety of scented and unscented lotions available. They also have a great selection of relaxing music and a water fountain - all allowing me to block out the stress and surrounding noise for a really great experience. About a week before my appointment she notified me asking if we could adjust the appointment time. No, problem at all with that and I appreciated the communication.
