10/15/11 I recently moved a large 4 bedroom house with many antiques and valuable art works to another large home in the same neighborhood with Mountain Movers. The move took 2 days with 4 guys each day. I have a lot of experience moving - this being the 12th move in the last 20 years and I can honestly say Moutain Movers were the best. The men were polite, smart and worked super hard. They came through with everything they promised and their price was the best of all the companies I checked with. I hopefully will not be moving again anytime soon but if I do, I will use Mountain Movers again for sure. read more

Two guys and a truck helped us move and they were great. They came 10 minutes early, were friendly and professional and even said some great things about the company (it's nice to see people who genuinely enjoy what they do). The move was quicker than the original quote too. Unfortunately our furniture did have a few chips after traveling in the truck, but it's all pretty cheap and we didn't bother to wrap the edges of protect it prior to the move (which I'd recommend if you have anything valuable). They don't insure furniture containing particleboard, which is probably because it all chips so easily (another reason to protect your stuff if you want to be careful and own a lot of Ikea!). Moving was never going to be a pleasant experience being 7 months pregnant with a 2 year old but Kirk and Jack from Seattle Movers made it very easy. They moved us quickly and professionally in no time at all and were happy and friendly in the process. We also had 2 stops to make to pick up new furniture which wasn't a problem for them at all. Every time we moved ourselves, we've wanted to chuck the other spouse of a cliff, so this time I decided to hire a mover. The effuse praise for Seattle Movers prompted me to contact them. The quote was in line with other, less acclaimed companies. Now, this being the first time we've ever had movers, I had assumed two things. One, there would be nothing we needed to do. Two, it would be an army of people wrapping, boxing, and shuttling our precious junk into their truck. Both would have been right had I read a bit closer and asked/paid for it. As it was, we were not completely packed Thankfully, the two guys came with four extra wardrobe boxes that they stuffed all kinds of little odds and ends into. It took them less than three hours to get furniture, bins, boxes, and four wardrobes of little junk from a two bedroom apartment loaded into their truck. Then, we stopped at the Albert Lee warehouse for a new washer and dryer pickup, and off to our very first home. They were excellent, not one complaint, FAST, and efficient. read more

Kyle and his crew were awesome! So professional, polite, efficient! They worked so hard! It was clear they understand Time is Money! I would highly recommend them. One thing to Martin: if you're sending a brand new guy. Don't charge me full price for his time. Fred did great! It was his first day and he held his own and earned his keep. But, the other two out performed him big time and they had to teach him everything along the way, even how to fold the blankets. His attire wasn't appropriate for the heat either so he was suffering. Prep your guys more and if you send a newbie on a job to be trained, give me a heads up and a discount on his hourly rate. This is the best moving company! I have lived in ten different states and have moved countless times, and have never had such a good moving service experience. Two weeks before we needed to move from Belltown to Green Lake, I called the company based on a friend's recommendation and reached Martin Cook, the sales rep for Seatte movers. To my surprise, he had time in the schedule for two weeks out (in July-- what I think must be a busy moving month) and we scheduled the move. The estimate was fair, made sense, and was emailed to me promptly along with other required paperwork, all of which was straightforward and easy to understand. Closer to the move I had a few questions and put in a phone call to Martin. He returned my call promptly and answered all of my questions right away. Leland and Josh H. of Seattle Movers called ten minutes early for a 9am move to say they found their way into the alley behind our condo building and to ask the procedure for parking and coming up to the unit. They were so friendly! My husband had to work for a little bit in the AM before our move and did not make it to the condo until an hour into the move. I had been nervous beforehand about being with the movers alone for a little while (because I've had some pretty rough and sketchy movers show up to previous moves) but these guys were kind and helpful from the get-go and I felt completely comfortable with them. Leland and Josh H. were fast and careful at the same time. It was incredible how they used so much power to lift heavy items (an entire heavy wood RH nightstand with one person in one lift! An oversized/luxe eight foot RH sleeper sofa!) yet used so much finesse to maneuver items around and delicately place each item down. Moving is like an art to these guys! They (almost!) make it look easy, and they seem to enjoy the hard work they do in their job. Throughout the move, they continued to be polite and talk lightly with my husband and me, yet they never slowed down. We could even see them through a second floor window in our new house, and they never slowed down walking back from their truck or anything. Their strength, energy, speed, care, and integrity were admirable. What else? We have a very tiny stairway leading to the bedrooms on the second floor and they not only got our queen-sized bed up there, they also got the CALIFORNIA QUEEN-sized bed up there. There is no way on Earth my husband and I could have done this move without Leland, Josh H., and Seattle Movers. They set everything up how we wanted, and then when we changed our mind about a few items they happily moved things around (we didn't ask them to rearrange the beds-- don't worry, we're not terrible!). At the end of the move Leland and Josh went out to their truck to draw up the paperwork. They came inside a few minutes later with the Bill of Lading, or the invoice. The bill was spot-on, exactly what we thought we would be billed (based on hours). The invoice was higher than the estimate, but we expected that because we have a ton of stuff and some unique, extra heavy pieces that just take extra time (we requested they get wrapped in Saran Wrap for protection, for instance). They remembered to take time off for their lunch, we did not have to remind them or haggle over any details. They remembered to account for the deposit. Everything was straightforward and easy, and such a relief! I would recommend Seattle Movers to any of my friends, and we will use them again when we move next time. We recently moved from Snoqualmie to Sammamish, and based on the reviews on Yelp, we decided to hire Seattle Movers. I am not sure if they sent the D crew, but boy did we have a bad experience. They started by being 30 minutes late. 2 trucks and a crew of 4 people and it took 7 hours to move out of my current home; and we had 5 of my family helping move boxes and furniture down to the driveway to help expedite. Beds were also already taken apart. One of the movers had oil on his shoe, which was tracked ALL over our home, all 3 floors. I am now trying to find a company to come dry clean my carpets which is one more thing I don't really have time to do. Management has said they will pay for this, but it should have never happened. We later found out that they knew he had oil on his shoe and told him to remove it. They did not lay ANY plastic down, and wore no booties on their shoes. I have never had any service company, let alone a moving company NOT do this. They then got lost on the way to the new house. One truck followed our directions and arrived, the other did not. After waiting for them for 20 minutes, the other van left to go find the missing van. There went 45 minutes of dead time. None of our labeled boxes were delivered to the designated rooms; they finally left at 9pm with none of our furniture unwrapped or put back together. There are a TON of moving companies out there. I would go with someone who can finish the job and complete it without damaging your home and belongings. We now have a bill 4x over our quote, and spent all of mothers day moving boxes to the rooms they should have gone in to begin with. read more

They worked quickly and efficiently and got everything moved out in about 2.5 hours on a super hot day in the summer and were friendly and funny the whole time! The worst. I called this company a week ahead and requested movers to unload my containers. After a long discussion of prices, and times and everything, after I gave them my credit card number I thought I was set. But when I never got a confirmation email as I was promised I emailed them midweek for a confirmation. Nothing - no reply. Today I called them to confirm. They told me they have never heard of me and I was not in their system. No apology, no attempt to correct the mistake - I spoke to the owner himself. My move is tomorrow and these guys screwed me over. NEVER deal with them. read more

I have to say that when I started the process of looking for a mover and getting quotes I was nervous. Horror stories I read of movers not showing up or going way over their estimates were swirling in my mind as I researched. I requested about four or five quotes from moving companies. I did my homework, checked each company on the BBB website and read a lot of reviews. Seattle Movers responded to my e-mail quickly and then followed up with a phone call. They asked very specific questions that helped them give me the most accurate estimate that they could. They also sent me a consumer guide to read so I would be educated on my rights. At the end of the day their quote was not only the lowest but they were the most responsive and electronic friendly. I put my $150 deposit down a couple weeks before the move. I received a e-mail receipt/confirmation shortly afterward. I was told I would get a confirmation call the day before the move. Guess what? I absolutely got that call and they answered any last minute concerns I had. Travis and Martin showed up early the next morning and went right to work after a short conversation with me about what was being moved. They hauled butt up and down 4 flights of stairs of my old place in record time! I've never seen two people work harder or faster to get things done. They wrapped things up and met me at the new place and unloaded just as quickly. I ended up saving money because they finished faster than what was estimated. I was so pleased that I gave them each a good tip. They deserved it and I only wished I had more to give them that day. They never hung around or moved slowly. I never felt like I needed to watch my stuff. I am truly impressed. Did I mention that I got a discount for mentioning Yelp? At the end they went over the invoice with me and showed me exactly what was left to be charged on my card and asked me to sign. Again, I received the confirmation e-mail receipt. Mountain Movers moved me on Monday, Nov. 14th, and I am STILL in shock over how professional, how friendly, how quick they were. These guys (Travis and Garrett) so far surpassed any other movers I've ever used that it's unreal. And like other reviews have mentioned, the final bill was flat-out inexpensive--I've paid way more for so much less. If you have to move, this is the company to call--I cannot say this enough. They were wonderful--the absolute best!! Oh, and did I mention that they were slated to show up at 8:00 a.m. and showed up at 8:00 a.m. on the DOT?? I just moved my business the week before we are scheduled to move our home. I Was hoping to hire a moving company to spare my back spasms. I read all of the reviews for this Mountain movers. Company with excitement that this could be almost painless. To my disappoint I got a quote that is as much as my deposit on the unit we're moving into. I don't know how these other people got moved for $350 but $1000 is alot and I do believe in paying for a service but golly gee!! I guess it's cheaper to buy my back brace. read more

Called them after my friend's recommendation. Scheduled about 1 week and half ahead to move on Saturday from Redmond to Issaquah. Jack/Scott/Leland showed earlier than scheduled after they called me about this. They were very polite throughout the process and moved all of mine without any glitches. They were also very careful with our boxes/furniture. They did not even take a break and finished earlier than I expected. Charges included trip time including arriving at my home and returning to their work place. Everything was reasonable and pro-rated. I am very satisfied overall for the cost and service. We have done 2 moves with this company. The first move was all coordinated by the owner; Kirk and it was the moving of our business from one area of Seattle to another. They were great, professional, incredible work ethic and our belongings handled with great care. It took place Feb 2013. Xavier was a part of this team and was excellent both here and in the next one too. Second move was moving our house Sept 2013 and it was coordinated under the Manager Martin. He Basically hoisted a newbie into the mix saying I needed the additional person. Even though the other 3 still worked hard, the newbie was slow, he flat out broke numerous items with absolutely no regard or empathy about it; for example making statements to me such as "these things break all the time" (item referred to has been with me for 20 years and through so many moves all over the country; he has no clue what he's talking about). Because the other 3 were having to babysit this guy on my dollar - none of them were paying nearly as much attention to detail regarding handling my items with care, nor time efficiency. I have never had a move with any company with so many items completely broken, scratched, chipped up and mishandled as what happened in this move even if it still was done in a somewhat timely manner (although if they had not had him to babysit I believe they would have been finished two hours earlier). Either way I would have preferred focus on quality of care with my items number one over speed of work; on either of these fronts there was much left to be desired. Frankly I consider Martin's behavior both unprofessional and completely rude that he insisted I needed this extra person without letting me know he was a very new trainee. I was talked/pushed into the importance of this other person, which ended up allowing their trainee to get trained on my dollar while ruining my things and causing the others who are very good, less attention to detail with my items as well. That should have been disclosed up front and I should have had a choice and either not paid for him since he is 'in training' or even been given a discount for allowing a trainee to be a part of the team working on my move causing all sorts of problems. WAY NOT PROFESSIONAL. I would only consider using this company again if everything goes through the owner; Kirk and I would insist on the Xavier and Vick. I will not use this company if it is coordinated through the manager Martin. read more

I used this mover to move my daughter in early Feb 2014.  This was our second time using this mover.  We chose them again after a great move experience with this company in 2012.  We requested an estimate online and received a quick response. They have a great online form to fill out to receive an estimate.  Based on the information I provided, they recommended  2 men and a truck. Keep in mind it is just an estimate.  You pay an hourly rate for 2 men and the truck. They do their best to estimate how many hours it will take. Keep in mind that your actions can influence this.  Be prepared. Don't still be packing boxes and have stuff in their way when they arrive.  If you are able, take apart beds and bed frames.  They can do this for you...but remember...this adds to your hourly time. They arrived at the exact time they said they would.  The truck was clean and well prepared.  Lot's of moving blankets for protection and boxes to help pack loose items like pillows and cushions off the couch.  These guys hustled the whole time they were there while loading. Despite the consistent quick pace, they were also careful with the belongings.  After everything was loaded they drove directly to the new rental home. Unloading always seems to go much faster. Again, they moved at a fast consistent pace.  These guys were fast, efficient, and careful. You really can not ask for more than that when you are paying them an hourly rate. When you go out to get estimates for a local move, you are going to find that they all charge the same hourly rate for 2 men and a truck.  What is really going to make the difference in cost is finding a company, like this, that will work as hard and fast as is reasonably possible. We've used Seattle Movers twice this year. The first to move our house belongings from a Snohomish County home to Ballard, Seattle. It was complicated with arranging for a couple of pods and going to a storage facility. They worked with our schedule and did whatever we asked. The second time was to help our grown kids to move their stored belongings after their cross country move was finalized to a third floor apartment. First of all, these guys hustle. Though their price is average for local hourly movers (along with a big truck), the efficient way they work makes Seattle Movers a good value. The work ethic that obviously stems from the owner is apparent in the men that show up to handle our belongings. The young men are polite and professional. On the first move, one newer guy missed a step and fell with an item, putting a hole in the wall. They took pictures and the owner quickly arranged for a local dry wall guy to come the next week to repair and repaint at no cost to us of course. That's why I put 5 stars. No one is perfect, but knowing that they are men that can be trusted to arrive on time and do their best to get our items safely from one place to the other, deserves the 5 stars. read more

We hired them to move a 2800 sf house from Seattle to Bellevue. We had 3 flights of stairs, 2 trucks and 4 movers and to top it off, the Hawks were hosting the Saints for the playoffs. Not once did they complain. They were positive, upbeat and professional. They worked quickly and efficiently. The price was fair and they did a great job. I would hire them again in a heartbeat. It's been a couple of weeks and I haven't found any damage. Like other reviewers, I paid a deposit of $250 in advance with an email confirmation. I received another confirmation the night before. They are the best!! Excellent customer service. We had a complicated move which needed coordination with a shipping company. I could not give Seattle movers a fixed time, but they accommodated all my schedule changes. I had to call them with changes several times and each time Martin made me feel that I need not worry as he will take care of whatever the situation would demand, and they delivered with skill and kindness.
