This was a great experience! I highly recommend it! I've never been on a seaplane before, nor a small airplane. I found this company on Yelp, gave them a call and Yvette was able to fit me right in! When I arrived at the business, Yvette told me all about the route that I would be taking. I of course forgot everything because I was too busy taking videos and pictures! Haha. The experience was just amazing and my pilot Micah did a fantastic job! So cool to see everything from up above and the day was just spectacular...so sunny and clear and the water was sparkling blue! So you walk down a small dock to the plane, climb in and taxi out just like you would at the airport, but it's on water. Once the pilot reaches the proper speed, you lift off and away you go. Very smooth and I felt completely safe. The tour lasts about 20 minutes and then you come in for your final approach. Trying not to clip kayakers and paddle boarders who are in the way, you land right on the water. Very cool! I definitely will do it again next time I'm in Seattle!

Wow!!! On the upside; -phenomenal pilot (We had Yvette), smoothest landing ever. She was so calm, kind and professional. -easy to book -no lines or waiting -well maintained and fairly newer airplanes -charming dock and office -plenty of room to wait or meet up with the rest of your party -the route flown is perfect for sightseeing and photo-taking On the downside; -they do not take AMEX Overall, I just can't recommend this place enough. I came away from this experience going-how is everyone not doing this?! Of all the things I've done and seen in Seattle, this by far exceeded all of them. It is truly an experience worth every cent-you will never ever forget it.

Had a great experience. Felt safe the entire time. Taking off and landing on South Lake Union is awesome. Plane held 3 plus pilots. The 20 min tour is all you need and you see everything! Would do it again!

A very fun experience, and a great way to see the area from a different perspective. My son and I both enjoyed the flight very much.

A big thanks to Pilot Jenna and the Seattle Seaplanes Team. I contacted them very last minute on a Saturday night and they found a spot for me Sunday afternoon. Jenna was very calm and professional, put us all at ease. Had a great ride, loved every second of it!

I love seaplane tours, so on a recent trip to Seattle on a beautiful, clear sunny day, I decided to try out Seattle Seaplanes. I'd seen a lot of views of the city, from the wheel, the top of the space needle, rooftop bars, private rooftops, etc. But the seaplane tour gave me an entirely new perspective of the city! The pilot was friendly and professional, the views were stunning, and it is a tour I would recommend to anyone! One interesting factor to note -- most seaplane our helicopter tours I've done are narrated. This tour is not, although the pilot did point out Bill Gates' home, which was appreciated. I'm not saying this as necessarily a negative or a positive, just an interesting fact. If you're Seattle and the weather is good -- take to the sky with Seattle Seaplanes! You won't be disappointed.

Amazing sea plane ride of Seattle. This was well worth our money. From the awesome heights, views to the friendly customer service and our fantastic pilot. As soon as we arrived we knew we booked a good one. I would highly recommend this activity.

Great view of the Seattle waterfront -- pilot tipped his wings a bit for us to get a better shot.

A great experience there given how they dealt with two things which were a bit out of their control -- certain taxi cab folks not knowing where this place is (getting confused with the competition location, despite the address), and others in the scheduled tour being really late. They dealt with the later by giving us a semi-private ride, which was great. That said, the views from all seats seem equally good. We also lucked out with excellent weather conditions for the flight -- smooth and not too much sun.

Super friendly staff. Our pilot, Kitt, was informative and accommodating. This was important as we were dealing with weather issues and it was unclear when and where we could fly. Kitt spoke with us multiple times to make sure we knew our options. All worked out in the end and the 20 minute scenic flight was amazing. The only issue was with parking. All of the nearby spots were either blocked or taken by other local businesses, so we were forced further north on Fairview until we found a pay lot at E. Blaine. It was about a 5 minute walk so plan accordingly.

The guy then went about threatening me, saying that what I was asking me for (flying with the original instructor) isn't according to FAA regulations. It doesn't even make any sense. This guy is out of his mind in terms of rudeness and not caring about the customer experience. He obviously thinks that he has too much business and he's the king of the place so he will just shut people down without trying to help the customer. Absolute disaster of a place. They lost my business for sure. Buyer beware! Update: I spoke with the owner of this school and thought that he would be more understanding of the situation and try to fix the situation because I already paid them $400 for the discovery flight and was genuinely eager to take their classes. I was dead wrong. The owner of the school was just as rude and even said that me posting a negative review was in bad taste, basically trying to silence me from speaking the truth. Unbelievable. He didn't even try to understand the situation more and instead just jumped to conclusions stating that whatever Daniel did was because of FAA regulations, which is obviously bs. Then he suggested I take classes with his school to get over it. LOL. I can't make this up.

Not that we were tough to parent, well, yeah... we were. It's a wonder she isn't an alcoholic or in a mental institution. She was overdue for a special "Thanks". A surprise flight in a small plane seemed like a good idea. Two of the brothers were shocked at the idea, and my wife was as well. "Tea room" was my wife's idea. Wife seems to have forgotten about the times our mom played tackle football with us boys as we were growing up. I set the appointment, and my poor mom was clueless as we arrived. Pilot Kenn was terrific, and is a flight instructor there as well. He carefully helped her get in the plane, and get all situated. Take-off was smooth, as was the rest of the flight. Kenn flew where she wanted to go, even though she didn't really know where she wanted to go, and kept changing her mind. If you were on the ground and thought that you saw a drunk flying a plane, that was a very sober pilot flying us in ever changing directions. Mom has spent decades in the area, but had never seen the view that the seagulls get. It is truly an amazing experience. Kenn even allowed her to fly the plane briefly. If this isn't on your bucket list, shame on you. Your mom/dad deserve this rare treat. Just think of all the times they wiped your backside, took you to the hospital, and watched you strike out for the hundredth time. Yeah, you owe this to them. We went to the Airport restaurant after the flight, and enjoyed (very) fresh oysters. Mom was thrilled by the flight, and can't quit telling all her friends about it. Got back into the good graces of my mom! Now, let's see if I can stay there for a few months.

I'm confident Regal Air is at the top for the following reasons: 1) An excellent group of instructors with vast experience and great dedication to their students. They are great at tracking your progress and customising training -as far as the regulation allows- according to your needs. They will try their very best to accommodate to your -sometimes crazy- hours and to offer as much ground and flight instruction as needed -even done remotely-. They do walk that extra mile for you! 2) Unmatched quality and safety. Having aircraft maintenance and FAA certified avionics repair station branches allows them to keep their planes in optimal conditions for students and rentals. Part of their management has Air Force background, which translates into impecable service, operations and procedures. As with facilities, you will always find airplanes extremely clean and well equipped and maintained, ready for your next flight. Their front desk staff is professional, helpful, friendly and very competent. 3) Great location. Paine Field is THE place where you want to learn. Delta and Echo -depending on the time of the day- neighbouring Bravo, Charlie and Golf air spaces, means you will have plenty of airspaces and traffic (including airlines) to practice with and become a very knowledgeable, competent and confident pilot. A large number of nearby airports and airfields with the umatched scenery of the area plus its own great location within Paine Field -which allows you to access its two runways within a few minutes-, make Regal Air one of the best located schools in the Pacific Northwest. 4)* During Covid pandemic times, I've been greatly impressed with their safety and sanitary measures. Regularly cleaned and sanitised facilities, temperature and symptom screenings upon entering the building, masks required inside facilities and when flying accompanied -which are actually enforced and complied with-, and gloves provided together with isopropyl and wipes to sanitise airplane interiors before flying. These are only a reflection of their professionalism and commitment.

I've been flying since I was 3 years old and I'm 52 now, so that should tell you how many flights…read moreI've taken in my life. Somehow, though, this was my first time ever on a seaplane. To say I was anxious is an understatement. Every bad thought was going through my head. Every movie about a plane crash, every news article about a small plane or seaplane accident, every worst case scenario you can imagine. I was honestly questioning my life choices and wondering why I had agreed to do this. The first reason was my daughter. She flew with Harbour Air from Vancouver to Seattle, and she has the same flying anxiety that I do. She absolutely loved it and kept telling me, "Mom, you have to try it!" The second reason was that my friend and I only had 24 hours in Victoria. I didn't want to spend half the day driving to the ferry terminal, waiting, taking the ferry, and doing the whole process all over again on the way back. We wanted to maximize our time, so we decided to be brave and go for it. Honestly, right up until boarding, I was thinking about turning around and calling it a day. I had my noise-canceling AirPods ready, my anxiety was at a solid 100%, and I was trying not to panic. Luckily, I met a lovely lady who ended up becoming a friend, and she gave me a few tips to help when my anxiety started kicking in. The flight from Seattle to Victoria was honestly wonderful. The weather was beautiful, the views were amazing, and the pilot was a young gentleman who was an absolute sweetheart. Smooth takeoff, smooth flight, smooth landing. I couldn't have asked for a better first seaplane experience. The flight back was a little different. We had an older pilot, there was some fog leaving Victoria, and it was a bit rougher than the first flight. But that's weather, not the airline. We landed safely, and that's what matters. I also have to give a shout-out to the staff in both Seattle and Victoria. Every single person we dealt with was super nice, super chill, professional, patient, and helpful. Nobody made me feel silly for being nervous, and their calm attitude definitely helped. Would I do it again? Absolutely. Would I be nervous again? Probably. Would I still do it? 100%. The views alone are worth it. The time savings are worth it. And for someone who spent half the trip thinking about all the things that could go wrong, I ended up really enjoying it. So if you're anxious about flying on a seaplane like I was, take it from someone whose imagination is way too active you'll probably be just fine. And yes, I would do it again.

The First Gentleman who assisted me was the nicest towards me. I appreciate that. Book the ferry ride instead. I couldn't do it since I was limited on my stay so I lucked out. I get that my time was wasted overall. Do better with customer service and be transparent to everyone; not just who you want to approach.
