I started with the Calm Chowder. Whatever thickening agent was used took away from the taste and enjoyment. The Faroe Salmon on the other hand was quite good. I stay here often when in the area. The hotel is older - well maintained and actually very pretty. But let's talk about Golf! One of the best things about staying here is the golf courses- Bay and Pines They play the LGPA here- the Bay course - is awesome- excellent fairways - some of the best I have seen this far north- greens perfect- but don't let the the wide open fairways fool you - the wind is a factor - get off the the fairway - marsh grass and dunes - plenty of trouble to be had - but keep it straight and you can score well. Pines course - needs more care but still a treat. Worth the fees ! Combine that with a hotel stay - great restaurant - make for a fun stay! If, golfing relaxes you, then you should go here for a nice weekend getaway. If, your mood changes you can visit Atlantic City (15mins) or take a day trip to Wildwood (1hr). The grounds are simply beautiful and well maintained with a very professional staff, except for the young blond at the front desk. Okay, do not go banging in your room. This place is family oriented. Lulz. Well, for the price you will pay per night, plus the $10 resort fee per day, I guess you can do whatever you want in your room. Each morning there is a breakfast buffet that runs about $20 per person and has everything you can desire for breakfast. My favorite was the egg white frittata and potatoes. There is also a section for specific orders because some people can be difficult during breakfast The food was exceptional and scrumptious, but I think it should have been complimentary. Just in comparison to other resorts and five star hotels. There are many amenities such as the indoor/outdoor pools, jacuzzi, gym, game room, spa and restaurant. And if you decide to marry, they have a section for that as well. You really do not have to leave the resort since there is more than enough activities to keep you entertain. Its a fantastic place if you are into mazes and total "mind games" when it comes to organizing floors. Im on the third floor, why the hell are there "100" numbered rooms up here!? AND why when I take the elevator to the "main level" are there "300" numbered sections!? No one knows! You know how I know!? Underwhelming hotel on the outskirts of Atlantic City. Stayed here for a wedding. Booked room over 6 months ago at a "preferred group rate" discovered that the nightly price was $50 less if booked today. Looks like they updated the property recently with paint, carpet and new fixtures. Coffee sells for $3 a cup in the restaurant. Water is $2 a bottle. For the money they should offer a much better experience. read more

Stayed here overnight for a wedding. Hotel Staff was exceptional and very accommodating from the Valet to the chamber maids. We immediately felt welcomed upon arrival and the staff just continued to excel. To avoid Jersey Shore traffic we left early for our 4 hour drive We and arrived 2 hours before check in. Since we were part of several rooms of out of town guests they accommodated a room for us for early check in so we could change and enjoy the pools tea. They then expedited the balance of our rooms. We loved the wide open lobby and the pool area was clean and exceptional. You pay a little more for on site conveniences, but for a wedding it was one stop shopping for all of the guests and avoided the hassle of driving around an unfamiliar area. Wedding was well done and staff was just as exceptional. Overall it was a great experience. read more

We had our family Christmas luncheon there and were delighted! Since we had three people with Celiac disease, I was worried about the buffet selections. No worries! We have stayed at the Seaview for the past few summers and have always been pleased. But the service this visit was terrible. Ask for a crib in one of our rooms at 4:00 check in since the family was arriving late with a baby and still not in the room at 10:30 pm! Beautiful hotel!! They apparently overcharging and making you wait an hour to get your double charge back. Then handing over hundreds of dollars in 10's claiming that there isn't 100 dollar bills here. Also, be careful of the cute little ants they like to leave as pets in the room, they're nice company. My family stopped here for an end of the summer vacation. We were looking for a nice hotel to stay at and we were pleasantly surprised when we found this stop near brigatine, nj. The location is beautiful compared every other Wyndham property we have been to. The building was up to date and the rooms were roomy and very comfortable. The facilities had a beautiful indoor and outdoor pool. We ran into a few issues that were not resolved by the staff or manager, but we were still happy with our vacation . The first issue we ran into was that there was food left in our fridge. It was very stinky old food and we contacted the front desk right away. They did not offer to clean the fridge or pick up the food. I told them I would then leave it outside the door because it was stinky. I had to wipe the fridge myself. We also had an issue with check in and out. They had a hard time finding our reservation and it was not matching what we requested. And checkout they had the billing incorrect. I had to come to the front desk several times to resolve it I contacted their customer relations and it took several weeks to hear back and when I explained my issue they told me the manager would contact me back. It never was resolved and I was forgotten about. I was not pleased. Other than these issues the stay was still enjoyable for our family and we still had a nice vacation. I just did not enjoy how much I had to contact the staff. read more

This pertains to the BAY course: the LPGA plays here for good reason. Great Donald Ross design! Plays to a par 71 68.4/117 with spectacular views off Atlantic city and the bay. Open course but watch out for the fescue, it eats balls alive. Played here a bunch of times and never disappointed. The course has a great pro shop and all facilities. My family had a lovely time at the Seaview. I was happy to see the renovations but it wasn't the quality I would have expected. We stayed in the dog wing-- so I can only guess that those rooms are subpar. It was just an ok room in a very pretty hotel. While the staff was kind, I did find them uninformed. Many at the front desk did not know the area and could not make a recommendation. When I asked for restaurants, they handed me a piece of paper and said you can call and see if they have takeout. If it was my establishment, I'd have one person take 30 minutes out of their day to make those calls and update the list. It just felt like they did just enough but did not go above and beyond to make it special. read more

We went on Christmas Eve and the tables were nicely spaced out no worries on social distancing. Service was great starting with employees in Valet (Kenny and Bruce) Super friendly and so helpful! Stephen at the front desk was so nice and friendly and great conversation!! Our waitress was wonderful and entire staff made our night relaxing and enjoyable! Ford who is the manager was so accommodating and so sweet! He was so attentive! Food was excellent, my kids and I had chicken Parm it was so good! We ate off the Italian special menu ( which they have every Friday night) and prices were great! I haven't been to Seaview in years and the whole place is remodeled and absolutely gorgeous! I can't wait to go back and try other nights they said Thursday is BBQ night Friday Italian and Saturday is Prime rib! Yum! read more

This is a beautiful facility. The check in was efficent and pleasent . The room is well above average. Staff is good. When you go to the dining room be prepared for overpriced food and simply bad service. For dinner last night I ordered a $26 entree. Bland angelhair with 4 21-25 shrimp. The waiter had said to expect 8 shrimp, Which was still overpriced. Nearly $30 for burger and salad was not much better. So, when we checked in they made a point of telling us breakfast starts at 6:30 in the morning. At 6:30 NOTHING on the breakfast buffet was in place. Raul from The front desk went into the kitchen and return the news said it would be out in a couple minutes. He then went back and confirmed five minutes. AN HOUR LATER -- STILL NOT SET UP. Finally got to speak to Angela, MOD, at 7:30, an hour after Breakfast was scheduled to begin. She said it was ready then. I pointed out that generally food is not sealed in plastic if it is ready to eat, her response was to have the dishes with plastic uncovered. Breakfast was priced at $19.00 per person. I let her know that during the half hour I waited to chat with her I had the time to start writing this. She said I should do what I had to do. So, the Hotel is great. I cant comment on golf. Completely redone. The old pics and reviews on here are not reflective of the facility now. It's more modern, and you may find yourself nostalgic, but honestly, it needed the updating. Things have to change to stay viable. It's as lovely as ever and the staff are wonderful. The golfing is as good as anywhere as well. We actually love that it's exclusively quiet, and away from the boardwalk towns. I absolutely love that we could open the windows in our room. The weather was great while we visited and the fresh sea air at night was delightful. We ate in the restaurant, and the crab cake was terribly disappointing. Additionally, you have to walk through the restaurant to get to the indoor pool. Odd, but not the end of the world. read more

My review is for the Pines Golf course which is a 3 star course in it's current form and a very memorable 4 star if it's maintained. Our group came out on a beautiful fall day and were greeted pleasantly by every staff member we met. It's a beautiful classic place right on the bay where you can't help but feel welcome. The bay course is where the LPGA plays every ear but we played the pines, regarded by the members as the better course, not playing the bay I cannot vouch but the pines is a very fun track with lots of memorable holes except, it's missing some polish that could really take it up another level! The holes meander through a wood with a mix of left to right and right to left holes, the tees in less that stellar condition, could use a mowing for sure. Fairways were kind of the same thing, hadn't been mown in a couple days. Rough, while penal was fair to play from even though the morning dew made it more difficult. Greens were in fantastic shape rolling true on all 18 and there weren't any bad spots on any of them. The unfortunate thing though was the ruts surrounding the greens. Firing after an edge pin, you better be spot on because one pace off the putting surface is bare spots everywhere. Huge ruts that make delicate chips impossible. I will say though, I loved the greens! The clubhouse is part of the resort and its classic! I love the old buildings with a ton of history and this place offers it in bounds! Classic indoor pool, classic meandering hallways you can easily get lost in but a friendly staffer is always there to point you in the right direction. The pro shop is well stocked with plenty of seaview swag in all the brands you want at air prices. Food in the bar was good, service was polite and quick, we really enjoyed ourselves while at seaview, but if they could move a little bit of the budget from the LPGA course over to the pines, you'll be in for a real treat! read more

This hotel is affiliated with the university in AC and there were college students everywhere. They were not bad, just s bit loud. The wifi sucks, did not work at all. Excellent service was my first time in Atlantic City the staff guided me and my friend right to the casino. Any questions we had they answered. Breakfast Buffet is like $20 extra so be aware. Loved my room safe, iron and board, fresh towels. Complimentary soap, conditioner, and shampoo. Had a fridge, but pay attention to the prices for the beverages you will be charged $5 for water... Available valet $13 overnight come and go as you please. After hours you will be parking yourself check. We got in late but you can park you vehicle with valet stub in front on side.. The new renovations are beautiful. The rooms are very spacious and updated and have a fridge and keurig. The beds light up from the bottom and the finishes and furniture are very nice. The front desk staff were nice and polite at check in. We didn't get to stay for brunch but it was a beautiful set up. Zero Booked a table for 11 for Easter at 5:30pm. I spoke to someone prior to reservation and they assured me the regular menu would be available and the chef would likely have a holiday special for Easter. We arrived and there were two separate circular tables put together. We had to ask for a rectangular table as the tables that were set up placed our backs to our relatives. A pre printed paper was given to us with some food items on there and we were notified that the main menu was not available. We stayed on after finding this info. The items on the menu did not reflex any Easter foods. After dinner, we were given our checks without asking about desserts or coffee as the manager said they only had a limited number of prepared desserts that night. They did offer complementary desserts that appeared to be left over from the day's buffet offering. We sat and watched as our neighbor table ate desserts while paying our check. I'm not usually a complainer, but here goes: My first impression was that the property was beautiful. I've driven by it for years and I was really excited to stay there. My second impression was that the valet was rude and kept insisting that if I wanted to leave the car for a second, i.e. to check in and bring bags in, as you do at most hotels, that he needed the keys even if I wasn't going to valet park. After 2 hours of driving, I was inside for two minutes and came out to see the valet getting into the driver's seat. I guess either he really didn't believe me that I wanted to park the car myself, or he really wanted that tip. Then he really rudely acted like he was put out, like, "Oh, you're finally here, I was almost going to have to move the car." There was no one else there, so it wasn't like I was blocking traffic or something. And if I really took any more than 2 minutes, maybe you should talk to the front desk about how long check-in takes. No, wait, actually, my bad impression started when I called to book the room. The first time I called, I mentioned the group code I was given because I was there for a wedding. I was told I couldn't get the promised group rate because I was calling a few days after the offer expired. I ended up having better luck calling back and not mentioning that we were there with the group until after I was quoted a better price. That's how you treat your guests visiting as part of a group? The room was small, kind of out-of-date (in terms of decor, it was what you would expect from maybe an 80s hotel) and smelled a little funny. We had two towels, but one had someone's hair on it, so that left us down to one towel for two people. The door had to be pulled shut tight or it didn't lock (a safety concern). We didn't get a "Do Not Disturb" sign, so we stole one off another room's door (sorry, it's true, and I wanted to get some sleep.) In the end, it didn't matter, because the very long empty corridor far from the oversight of the front desk seemed to attract kids who wanted to run up and down the hall unsupervised. And, while the hotel had most of what you'd like in a hotel, there was just no little perk that made you feel like "Wow, this hotel has something neat to offer. " You know, like the warm chocolate chip cookies at Doubletree, or just about everything at the Residence Inn. If it was a cheap hotel, I wouldn't complain. It would be an ok basic hotel if you could get a good rate. But all that for the low low price of $162.85 after taxes and fees? Talk about overpriced. Speaking of which, there was some kind of "service fee" on the bill, I asked about it and was told it was a fee tacked on to groups to cover the valet and bell service. I knew I should have never mentioned that I was there with the group. So... the group rate is higher than the room rate and you have to pay a service fee? Guess I should have let that valet park my car after all. read more

Been a few times and its one of my favorite east coast country clubs. Im a terrible golfer, I use the lawns for stretching yoga and meditation. Nice gazebos, rest areas and places for light dining/relaxing. They also have other village, carriage houses and building for parties and weddings. It is a traditional antique estate with lots of classic set up, furniture and charm. The establishment is oppulent, super spacious and I cant wait to go back, the rooms have balconies, the art gallery on first floor is nice, the dining halls are great quality although portions could be bigger. Way bigger! The activity room has alot of variety and the indoor pool/ gym are good. The outdoor pool is open in the summer only.. but its a heavenly experience. read more

BRUNCH REVIEW *3.5 Stars Rounded up to 4* We had originally planned to stay here (as the price is right) but decided at the last minute to stay elsewhere (through no fault of the Seaview). Anywaymovingrightalong, I noticed they had a "champagne" brunch for $39.95 a la an ALL YOU CAN STUFF YOUR FACE breakfast buffet. It was my boyfriend's mother's bday so I suggested this place. I love any excuse to feed my face. The Sunday brunch buffet was nicely set up and for the most part clean. We had to have our table re-done as it was stained and we wanted feed yo'face fresh, so they changed out our linens. On the menu was a variety of hot and cold dishes including (but not limited to) cereals, lox plate, salad station, breakfast potatoes, bacon, sausage, pork adobo (GROSS), steamed clams, raw oyster (TRIPLE GROSS), and cold salads such as thai beef salad (YUMMY), shrimp risotto pasta (YUMMY). Also was an omelet station next to a prime rib station. Needless to say, if you wanna be and stay fat, come feast here! As you can see, some of the dishes were great; others not so good. The prime rib was very dry with no flavor and I the raw bar was super cheap. To make up for that, I suppose, was their dessert bar which had EVERYTHING. Creme brulee, bread pudding, cake, cookies, sugar! I didn't care for their service. I never had water available and they plates were not cleared timely... something that is mission critical when eating at an all you can eat buffet. We also were given an empty pot of coffee. Lame times. Just a note - if you want to celebrate a birthday here, you can get the piano player to play a song for you. This is very popular so get there early to be the first one or else you'll just be upstaging some 90 year old memaw. Positivley drop dead gorgeous resort. Old world charm, the hotel was built as a country club in 1914 and has been a host to golf classics, including the Dinah Shore LPGA events as well as a respite to many politicians, presidents and governors over its long history. The place is utterly charming with very comfortable rooms and lovely dining spaces. The outdoor pool is gorgeous, but the indoor pool has all of its original turn of the century charm making it at least a must see. They also house a great golf shop if you are in the mood to part with some extra cash. Dining here is very good and the Main dining room has many right ups. One highlight of our stay, Charles Barkley was there while we were and I got to say "hello" to him. It's a little off the beaten path, but definitely worth the trip. read more

Too often resort hotels are much worse places to stay than mid-range hotels (Hampton Inn and the like) for business meetings, but this place is much better than most: (1) Free internet instead of paying an extra $12-15 per day. (2) A decent amount of free parking close to the hotel without the pressure to use valet parking - which they have if you are inclined to use it. (3) Pretty decent meal service for banquets The golf course looks pretty good, but as a non-golfer I can't add any useful information. We stayed at the Seaview for one night and didn't have dinner there, for no other reason than we had dinner somewhere else. We thought that the place was great. It is dated, but in a charming way. It was not dated, as in depressing. The staff was very friendly and the bartender was great. We sat outside beside the fire pit and had a relaxing evening. People are complaining about the rooms, but ours was fine. We were not expecting a super luxury hotel, so our expectations were met. We had no complaints and everything was clean and worked just fine. We would go back again. read more

I attended a wedding at the carriage house about a mile away. All the guests stayed at this hotel. This is pretty much the only option if you have an event around here unless you book a hotel in AC, which is a hike. The hotel rooms were spacious and had everything you would expect. A little dated with the decor. I would say 1950s. Go with the King suite, it is huge. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. The showers with water hitting you from every direction is a great concept, but the water pressure is bad, so it is better in theory. It doesn't work. The best feature of this hotel is the bar area. It works great for after wedding partying. The bar staff was all very friendly and quick on their feet. Only negative is it is a pricey. They are the only place in town and they know it.... Over $200 a night in the middle of nowhere and in the winter time is too much. I didn't eat breakfast in the morning, but a few friends said it was good, but pricey ($18 each for the buffet). Group Rates be warned. I called and the group rate for the wedding was actually hire than if you booked online by yourself!!! read more

They have everything - i mean eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles, pancakes, omelette station.... bagels, muffins, lox, fruit, vegetables, mahi mahi, shrimp, chicken, steak, roast beef, potatoes,They also have a chocolate fondue station with fresh fruit and pretzels, marshmellows, not to mention cakes, cookies, puddings. i mean they have everything!! It was like being at a disney world resort!! It's just phenomenal!! They give you coffee, juice and champagne, they also have a piano player. It's a wonderful way to start your day. Make reservations and you can dine even if you don't stay at the hotel - i highly recommend stopping in even on your way out of Atlantic City. Wow--what a beautiful disaster. The exterior of the hotel is truly breathtaking; but don't let the interior fool you. The staff here is completely unprofessional and lost. When asking if it would be possible to check in, the front desk nonchalantly juggled our wait time, stating that out room wasn't ready yet but should be . . . " in about uhhh maybe in ten, fifteen minutes, even two. I don't know it depends." While the valet and bell boy continued to rush my 65 year-old-father "to hurry up" and get his things out of the car because he was "holding up the cars in front of him"--and yet no one seemed to help us in the end either way. You would think customer service would be a priority here, but common courtesy seems like a mystery to them altogether. read more

The hotel was nice and I don't have any complaints about it, however we had a bad experience at the restaurant, and since there is not a yelp entry for the dining room, I'll post it here. We went for breakfast on a Saturday morning. It was not especially busy and there were open tables, but we still waited about 15 minutes to be seated. Our waiter was not very helpful, we we're not brought water for at least 45 minutes and it took over an hour for our breakfast to arrive. We were not impressed by the food. I'd call it mediocre at best, and quite expensive. We're attending a wedding here this evening, and I pray that, for the bride's sake, the service and food is better tonight. read more

Stayed here last Friday, before annual OC stay, we beat the Saturday traffic, I thank u. Place is beautiful from outside, lobby is very nice as well. This is an old time golf resort, as they have course around hotel. Rooms were nice, but could use some better amenities, such as a refrigerator. Hallways could use updating. Went to bar @ night for after dinner drink w/ wife was fine, but a bit $, she had wine, I had a vodka & it was $15. A bit much, but typical hotel ripoff rate. Room was cheap though.
